The influence of the improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate to the unit powder content of concrete and the fine aggregate ratio for the increase of the flowability and segregation resistance of high performance concrete was examined. According to the experimental results, flowability and compacting of concrete presents best states in the S/a which has the smallest 패야 ratio. The coarse aggregate after improvement of grain shape, that has changed from the 0.68 of spherical rate of disk shape to 0.73, led fine aggregate ratio to be down 6% (i.e from 47% to 41%). The improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate also led the lowest unit powder content to be down 60kg/㎥ (ie from 530kg/㎥ to 470kg/㎥). And approximate 10% of unit water content has been reduced as unit powder content was down. However, the compressive strength after the improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate decreased to 5% due to decrease of adhesiveness of the aggregate and cement paste.
The existing piezoelectric spherical transducers with fixed prescribed dynamic characteristics limit their application in scenarios with multi-frequency or frequency variation requirement. To address this issue, this work proposes an improved design of piezoelectric spherical transducers using the resistance tuning method. Two piezoceramic shells are the functional elements with one for actuation and the other for tuning through the variation of load resistance. The theoretical model of the proposed design is given based on our previous work. The effects of the resistance, the middle surface radius and the thickness of the epoxy adhesive layer on the dynamic characteristics of the transducer are explored by numerical analysis. The numerical results show that the multi-frequency characteristics of the transducer can be obtained by tuning the resistance, and its electromechanical coupling coefficient can be optimized by a matching resistance. The proposed design and derived theoretical solution are validated by comparing with the literature given special examples as well as an experimental study. The present study demonstrates the feasibility of using the proposed design to realize the multi-frequency characteristics, which is helpful to improve the performance of piezoelectric spherical transducers used in underwater acoustic detection, hydrophones, and the spherical smart aggregate (SSA) used in civil structural health monitoring, enhancing their operation at the multiple working frequencies to meet different application requirements.

The evolution of silica aggregate particles in coflow diffusion flames has been studied experimentally using light scattering and thermophoretic sampling techniques. The measurements of scattering cross section from $90^{\circ}$ light scattering have been utilized to calculate the aggregate number density and volume fraction using with combination of measuring the particle size and morphology through the localized sampling and a TEM image analysis. Aggregate or particle number densities and volume fractions were calculated using Rayleigh-Debye-Gans and Mie theory for fractal aggregates and spherical particles, respectively. Of particular interests are the effects of flame temperature on the evolution of silica aggregate particles. As the flow rate of $H_2$ increases, the primary particle diameters of silica aggregates have been first decreased, but, further increase of $H_2$ flow rate causes the diameter of primary particles to increase and for sufficiently larger flow rates, the fractal aggregates finally become spherical particles. The variation of primary particle size along the upward jet centerline and the effect of burner configuration have also been studied.
Spherical fuzzy set (SFS) is also one of the fundamental concepts for address more uncertainties in decision problems than the existing structures of fuzzy sets, and thus its implementation was more substantial. The well-known sine trigonometric function maintains the periodicity and symmetry of the origin in nature and thus satisfies the expectations of the experts over the multi parameters. Taking this feature and the significance of the SFSs into the consideration, the main objective of the article is to describe some reliable sine trigonometric laws (ST L) for SFSs. Associated with these laws, we develop new average and geometric aggregation operators to aggregate the Spherical fuzzy numbers (SFNs). Then, we presented a group decision- making (DM) strategy to address the multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem using the developed aggregation operators. In order to verify the value of the defined operators, a MAGDM strategy is provided along with an application for the selection of laptop. Moreover, a comparative study is also performed to present the effectiveness of the developed approach.

This research investigates how the fineness modulus of fine aggregates and the grain shape of coarse aggregates affects flow characteristics, packing characteristics and compressive strength characteristic. The experimental results, show that increase of the fine aggregate's fineness modulus improved concrete flow, but filling ability was high at over KS regulation extent due to segregation phenomena. It is considered that the improvement of 0.1 spherical rate was effective to concrete fluidity elevation by reducing about $6\%$ of fine aggregate ratio displays which the smallest gap rate of aggregate. Compressive strength was increased to about 0.6MPa everytime F.M. 0.1 of fine aggregate fineness is increased. However, it was decreased to about 9MPa at F.M. 3.5 compared to F.M. 3.0.
Ammonia gas was blown into the solution of zirconium ion to induce precipitation of supersaturated zirconium ion at gas-liquid interface with increase in pH. The influence of pH on the phase and particle size of precipitate and calcined powders has been investigated. At pH 4.5 of zirconium solution, maximum yield of 98.7% was obtained. Above pH 4.5, there was no more increase of yield. Above pH 5.5, large aggregates consisting of primary particles were observed in precipitate and calcined powders. At pH 4.5, almost aggregate-free fine spherical zirconia powders were obtained.

The effects of radial heat and $H_2O$ diffusion on the evolution of silica particles in coflow diffusion flames have been studied experimentally. The evolution of silica aggregate particles in coflow diffusion flames has been measured experimentally using light scattering and thermophoretic sampling techniques. Flame temperatures and volumetric differential scattering cross sections have been measured for different flame conditions such as inert gas species, $H_2$ flow rates, and burner injection configurations to examine the relation between the formation of particles and radial $H_2O$ diffusion. The comparisons of oxidation and flame hydrolysis have also been made for various $H_2$ flow rates using $N_2$ or $O_2$ as a carrier gas. Results indicate that the role of oxidation becomes dominant as both carrier gas($O_2$) and $H_2$ flow rates increases since the radial heat diffusion precedes $H_2O$ diffusion in coflow flames used in this study. The effect of carrier gas flow rates on the evolution of silica particles have also been studied. When using $N_2$ as a carrier gas, the particle volume fraction has a maximum at a certain carrier gas flow rate and as the flow rate is further increased, the hydrolysis reaction Is delayed and the spherical particles finally evolves into fractal aggregates due to decreased flame temperature and residence time.
This paper investigates the punching shear strength of lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) slabs through a series of experimental study. Five full scale slabs were constructed using normal concrete and four different types of LWAC. Each lightweight aggregate (LWA) used in this study had different sources (clay, shale, or slate) and shapes (crushed or spherical shape). Based on the test results, the effect of the lightweight aggregates (LWA) on the punching shear behavior was investigated. From the test results, it was found that the punching shear failure surface of LWAC slab with spherical shape coarse aggregate was less inclined than that with crushed shape coarse aggregate, which resulted in an increase of the area of the shear failure surface. As a result, it leads to the increased punching shear strength of the slab. On the other hand, the failure surfaces of LWAC slab with crushed shape coarse aggregate and normal coarse aggregate were inclined similarly. Finally, the test results of this study were compared with the punching shear strength obtained from current design models, such as ACI and CEB-FIP, to examine the validation of current design model to predict the punching shear strength of the LWAC slab.

Each year, about four million tons of steel slag, a by-product produced during the manufacture of steel by refining pig iron in the converter furnace, is generated. It is difficult to recycle this steel slag as aggregate for concrete because the reaction with water and free-CaO in steel slag results in a volume expansion that leads to cracking. However, the steel slag used in this study is atomized using an air-jet method, which rapidly changes the melting substance at high temperature into a solid at a room temperature and prevents free-CaO from being generated in steel slag. This rapidly-cooled steel slag has a spherical shape and is even heavier than natural aggregate, making it suitable for the aggregate of radiation shielding concrete. This study deals with the radiation shielding property of concrete that uses the rapidly-cooled steel slag from the oxidizing process in the converter furnace as fine aggregate. It was shown that the radiation shielding performance of concrete mixed with rapidly-cooled steel slag is even more superior than that of ordinary concrete.
The activity of immobilized cell-support particle aggregates is influenced by physical and biochemical elements, mass transfer, and physiology. Accordingly, the mathematical model discussed in this study is capable of predicting the steady state and transient concentration profiles of the cell mass and substrate, plus the effects of the substrate and product inhibition in an immobilized cell-support aggregate. The overall mathematical model is comprised of material balance equations for the cell mass, major carbon source, dissolved oxygen, and non-biomass products in a bulk suspension along with a single particle model. A smaller bead size and higher substrate concentration at the surface of the particle, resulted in a higher supply of the substrate into the aggregate and consequently a higher biocatalyst activity.
