Background: Paraplegia is a serious complication of thoracic or thoracoabdominal aortic operations, which is related to ischemic injury of the spinal cord induced by low perfusion pressure during cross clamping of the aorta. Ischemic preconditioning of heart or brain with reversible sublethal ischemic injury induces resistance to subsequent lethal ischemia. The aim of this study is to investigate whether ischemic tolerance could be induced by the preconditioning of the spinal cord using swine model. Material and Method: The animals were randomly assigned to three groups: sham group(n=3), control group(n=6) and pre-conditioning group(n=8). In the sham group, we performed the left thoracotomy only without any ischemic injury. In the preconditioning group, the swine received reversible spinal cord ischemic injury by aortic clamping for 20 minutes, whereas control group had no previous aortic cross- clamping. Forty-eight hours later, the aorta was clamped for 30 minutes in both groups. Neurological examination was done 24 hours later, then the animals were euthanized for histopathology and malonedialdehyde(MDA) spectrophotometry assay of the spinal cord. Result: Statistically significant difference in neurological outcome was observed between the control and preconditioning groups at 24 hours after ischemic injury. The incidence of paraplegia and severe paresis was 100% in the control group, and 62.5% in the preconditing group(p=0.028). There was no statistically significant difference in histopathology and MDA assay of the ischemic spinal cord between these two groups with borderline statistical difference in MDA assay(p=0.0745). Conclusion: In the present swine study, ischemic preconditioning could induce tolerance against 30 minute ischemic insult of the spinal cord, although the animals did not completely recover(stand-up or walk). We expect that combining this preconditioning with other currently existing protection methods might lead to a synergistic effect, which warrants further investigation.
In 1987, the level of heavy metals were determined ina total of 200 samples of 9 species of shellfish of Korea. The samples were collected at the fish. markets by 10 Public Institute of Health. The samples were whelk (Buccinum striatiBBimum), oyster (Crassostrea gigas), ark shell(Tegillarca granesa), shartnecked clam (Venerupis semidecussta), hard clam (Meretrix lusoria), top shell (Turbo cornutus), abalone (Haliotis gigantea), ark shell (Scapharea broughtonii), sea-mussel (Mytilus conuscus gould), respectively. The levels of total mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, copper, zinc and manganese were determined. The total mercury levels were determined by mercury analyzer using the combustion gold amalgamation method. The arsenic level were determined by spectrophotometry using colorimetric sil ver diethyldithiocarbamate method after dry ash dige8tion of the samples with magnesium oxide and magnesium nitrate. The levels of other metals were determined by inductively coupled pluma spectrophotometry after wet digestion of the samples with nitric acid and su1furic acid. The results were summerized as follows; 1. The overallranges and mean(ppm) were; Hg, ND-O.221 (0.036); Pb, 0.05-1.51 (0.37); Cd, 0.02-1.86 (0.61); As, 0.5-3.97 (1.22); Cu, 0.14-54.16 (4.93); Zn, 7.40-207.17 (30.09); Mn, 0.13-s.72 (3.40). 2. The levels of all 6 metals were found to be below the maximum permissible Iimits set by the Japan lor mercury, the Netherland for lead the Hong Kong for cadmium. The Finland for Arsenic no statutory Iimits for Zn and Mn in shellfish in any countries. 3. The results show that all the 9 species of shellfish studied, none have accumulated levels dangerous enough to pose a health problem.roblem.
A new kinetic spectrophotometric method is developed for the measurement of Mn(II) in natural water samples. The method is based on the catalytic effect of Mn(II) with the oxidation of Gallocyanin by $KIO_4$ using nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) as an activation reagent at 620 nm. The optimum conditions obtained are $4.00{\times}1^{-5}\;M$ Gallocyanin, $KIO_4$, $1.00{\times}10^{-4}\;M$ NTA, 0.1 M HAc/NaAc buffer of pH = 3.50, the reaction time of 5 min and the temperature of $30^{\circ}C$. Under the optimum conditions, the proposed method allows the measurement of Mn(II) in a range of $0.1\;-\;4.0\;ng\;mL^{-1}$ and with a detection limit of down to $0.025\;ng\;mL^{-1}$. The recovery efficiency in measuring the standard Mn(II) solution is in a range of 98.5 - 102%, and the RSD is in a range of 0.76 - 1.25%. The newly developed kinetic method has been successfully applied to the measurement of Mn(II) in both some environmental water samples and certified standard reference river water sample, JAC-0031 with satisfying results. Moreover, few cations and anions interfere with the measurement of Mn(II). Compared with the other catalytic-kinetic methods and instrumental methods, the proposed kinetic method shows fairly good selectivity and sensitivity, low cost, cheapness, low detection limit and rapidity. It can easily and successfully be applied to the real water samples with relatively low salt content and complex matrices such as bottled drinking water, cold and hot spring waters, lake water, river water samples.
Purpose: Obesity is often associated with disturbances in the mineral metabolism. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of high-fat diet-induced obesity on tissue zinc concentrations and zinc transporter expressions in mice. Methods: C57BL/6J male mice were fed either a control diet (10% energy from fat, control group) or a high-fat diet (45% energy from fat, obese group) for 15 weeks. The zinc concentrations in the serum, stool, and various tissues were measured by inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-atomic emission spectrophotometry or ICP-mass spectrophotometry. The levels of zinc transporter mRNAs in the liver, duodenum, and pancreas were measured by real-time RT-PCR. The levels of serum adipokines, such as leptin and IL-6, were determined. Results: The total body weight, adipose tissue weight, and hepatic TG and cholesterol concentrations were significantly higher in the obese group, as compared to the control group. The obese group had significantly higher levels of serum leptin and pro-inflammatory IL-6 concentrations, and had significantly lower levels of serum alkaline phosphatase activity. The zinc concentrations of the liver, kidney, duodenum, and pancreas were all significantly lower in the obese group than in the control group. On the other hand, the fecal zinc concentrations were significantly higher in the obese group than in the control group. The serum zinc concentrations were not significantly different between the two groups. The ZnT1 mRNA levels of the liver and the pancreas were significantly higher in the obese group, as compared to the control group. Hepatic Zip10 mRNA was also increased in the obese group. Conclusion: Our study findings suggest that obesity increases fecal zinc excretion and lowers the tissue zinc concentrations, which may be associated with alterations in the zinc transporter expressions.
Purpose : Early degeneration of articular cartilage is accompanied by a loss of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) and the consequent change of the integrity. The purpose of this study was to biochemically quantify the loss of GAG, and to evaluate the $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$-enhanced, and T1, T2, rho relaxation map for detection of the early degeneration of cartilage. Materials and Methods : A cartilage-bone block in size of $8mm\;\times\;10mm$ was acquired from the patella in each of three pigs. Quantitative analysis of GAG of cartilage was performed at spectrophotometry by use of dimethylmethylene blue. Each of cartilage blocks was cultured in one of three different media: two different culture media (0.2 mg/ml trypsin solution, 1mM Gd $(DTPA)^{2-}$ mixed trypsin solution) and the control media (phosphate buffered saline (PBS)). The cartilage blocks were cultured for 5 hrs, during which MR images of the blocks were obtained at one hour interval (0 hr, 1 hr, 2 hr, 3 hr, 4 hr, 5 hr). And then, additional culture was done for 24 hrs and 48 hrs. Both T1-weighted image (TR/TE, 450/22 ms), and mixed-echo sequence (TR/TE, 760/21-168ms; 8 echoes) were obtained at all times using field of view 50 mm, slice thickness 2 mm, and matrix $256\times512$. The MRI data were analyzed with pixel-by-pixel comparisons. The cultured cartilage-bone blocks were microscopically observed using hematoxylin & eosin, toluidine blue, alcian blue, and trichrome stains. Results : At quantitation analysis, GAG concentration in the culture solutions was proportional to the culture durations. The T1-signal of the cartilage-bone block cultured in the $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$ mixed solution was significantly higher ($42\%$ in average, p<0.05) than that of the cartilage-bone block cultured in the trypsin solution alone. The T1, T2, rho relaxation times of cultured tissue were not significantly correlated with culture duration (p>0.05). However the focal increase in T1 relaxation time at superficial and transitional layers of cartilage was seen in $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$ mixed culture. Toluidine blue and alcian blue stains revealed multiple defects in whole thickness of the cartilage cultured in trypsin media. Conclusion : The quantitative analysis showed gradual loss of GAG proportional to the culture duration. Microimagings of cartilage with $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$-enhancement, relaxation maps were available by pixel size of $97.9\times195\;{\mu}m$. Loss of GAG over time better demonstrated with $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$-enhanced images than with T1, T2, rho relaxation maps. Therefore $Gd(DTPA)^{2-}$-enhanced T1-weighted image is superior for detection of early degeneration of cartilage.

Synthesis of polymer-supported azacrown ether ion exchanger, {(4,5): (13,14)-dibenzo-6,9,12-trioxa-3,15,21-triazazabicyclo[15.3.1]heneicosa-1(21),17,19-triene-2,16-dione : DBPDA ion exchanger}, and its ion binding ability to alkali metal $(Li^+,\;Na^+,\;K^+)$ picrates were studied. The binding constants $(K_b)$ of DBPDA ion exchanger to the alkali metal picrates in ether type solvents were obtained by spectrophotometry. Binding constants of alkali metal ions were in the order to Li < Na < K, and alkali metal ions were formed 1 : 1 complexes with ligands of DBPDA ion exchanger. Also, $K_b$ was found to depend on the variables such as solvent and temperature. The binding constants for the complexes were obtained in the ranges of $2{\times}10^3{\sim}4{\times}10^4M^{-1}$. In order to obtain the enthalpy (${\Delta}$H) and entropy changes (${\Delta}$S)n the complexation process, Kb were plotted against the temperature in the ranges of 10∼40$^{\circ}C$ according to the van't Hoff theory. Enthalphy and entropy changes were found in the ranges of -2.71∼-3.79 kcal/mol, and -16.52∼-20.57 eu, respectively.

The solvent extraction of an inorganic trace mercury in sea water samples was studied using zinc diethyldithiocabamate $Zn(DDC)_2$ as chelating agent. The $Zn(DDC)_2$ which maintained the stability of DDC- in the acidic aqueous solution in the course of extraction was synthesized from NaDDC and $ZnSO_4$ in this laboratory. The trace of mercury(Ⅱ) was extracted at pH 3.0 from 100 ml of sea water into 10ml of chloroform containing 0.05 M $Zn(DDC)_2$ by shaking for 5 minutes. And from the organic phase, the $Hg(DDC)_2$ was back-extracted into 10ml of 1 to 1 mixed acid of each 3% (v/v) nitric acid and hydrochloric acid by shaking for 25 minutes. The mercury back-extracted was determined by a cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The trace mercury(Ⅱ) was so successfully extracted that this procedure could be applied to its determination in the sea water. That is, the recoveries of mercury in two kinds of samples into which as given amount of Hg(Ⅱ) was spiked were 90.0% and 93.3%, respectively.
In this study, poly ${\varepsilon}$-caprolactone(PCL) microcapsules containing lemongrass oil was prepared by the solvent evaporation method. Effects of concentrations of PCL and poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) as well as stirring speeds when preparing microcapsules were investigated. Specific peaks of lemongrass oil in PCL microcapsules at 1600 and $2900cm^{-1}$ were observed by FT-IR. The particle size and shape of microcapsules were also measured by polarizing microscope and optical microscopy. The average particle size of microcapsules decreased with increasing the stirring rate. At the stirring speed of 1500 rpm, and 1 wt% of each PCL and PVA concentrations, the smallest particles were formed. Collection efficiencies of lemongrass oil of 77.5% and 69.5% were obtained when 1.5 wt% of PCL and 2 wt% of PVA were used, respectively. In addition, the release behavior and antioxidant activity of lemongrass oil from PCL microcapsules were examined using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. When 0.5 wt% PCL and 2.0 wt% PVA were used with the slow stirring rate, microcapsules showed a fast release rate. The characteristics of antioxidant activity exhibited similar to that of the release behavior.

The amount of Cr(Ⅲ) and Cr(Ⅵ) in a chromium plating solution could be determined simultaneously within five minutes using UV/VIS spectrophotometer coupled with a flow-through analysis(FTA) setup. The λmax's at 580 nm and 440 nm which correspond to Cr(Ⅲ) and Cr(Ⅵ), respectively, well obey the Beer-Lambert law in the range over 0.05 g/L for Cr(Ⅲ) and 0.005 g/L for Cr(Ⅵ). when the pH of the sample is less than 4.0, the absorption extinction coefficients of those peaks are not much dependent on the proton concentration. The amount of Cr(Ⅲ) and Cr(Ⅵ), and the total chromium in post treatment chromium plating solution, which normally has few g/L of Cr concentration, could be easily measured using UV/VIS spectrophotometry after the sample had been diluted with sulfuric acid of pH=1.0 in the flow-through analysis setup; this method is far more convenient and faster than the common redox titration (which requires at least 40 min/sample) method, while the accuracy of the method is highly comparable to conventional titrimetric method. Since the implementation of an PTA-UV/VIS setup in any plating industry is cost effective and easy to operate, the analytic method described in this paper may be applied directly for in situ analysis of plating solutions.
Sungnam city, as a major satellite town, is located in the southeast of Seoul. Atmospheric conditions are so stable that air pollutants from various emissions are tend to resist change because Sungnam city is located in the Namhansansung valley. The industrial distribution of Sungnam city are composed of various manufactories such as foods, fibers, chemicals, machinery and electronics etc. The heavy metal concentrations and size distribution are the most important parameters influencing among the way in which respirable suspended particulate matter interact with the human respiratory system. Respirable suspended particulate matter was collected on glass fiber filters from April 1993 to February 1994 according to particle size using Anderson sampler during 10 days per month at Sungnam city. 6 heavy metals, Fe, Zn, Pb Mn, Cu and Cd, were analyzed by particle size with atomic absorption spectrophotometry . The results could be summarized as follows: 1. The annual arithmetic mean concentration of total suspended particulate was 116.3$\mu $g/m$^{3}$ m', seasonal variation was the highest in spring season(196.5$\mu $g/m$^{3}$) and the lowest in Summer Season(72.9$\mu $g/m$^{3}$). 2. The ratio of airborne particulate concentrations respirable to nonrepairable( Res/Non- Res) of annual arithmetic mean value was 5.8'1, seasonal variation was highest in the spring season(6.3 : 1) and lowest in the summer season(4.6 : 1). 3. During the spring season the shape of the size distribution was trimodal which showed peaks at 3 size groups, which were below of 0.43$\mu $m, 3.3∼4.7$\mu $m and above of 11.0$\mu $g/m$^{3}$ respectively. 4. Respirable suspended particulate matter concentrations of Zn, Pb Cu and Cd were the highest in below of 0.43$\mu $m as follows; 0.517$\mu $g/m$^{3}$, 0.411 $\mu $g/m$^{3}$, 0.062$\mu $g/m$^{3}$ and 0.0310$\mu $g/m$^{3}$ , respectively, Fe and Mn were the highest in the particle size range of 4.7 ∼ 7.0$\mu $m as follows; 2.504$\mu $g/m$^{3}$ and 0.095$\mu $g/m$^{3}$, respectively. 5. The Pt Cd, Zn, Cu, Fe and Mn concentrations of annual arithmetic mean value respirable to non- respirable( Res/Non- Res ) were 33.65, 19.27, 17.74, 10.54, 3.20 and 5.20, respectively.

제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
