Vernier 신호 분석에서 자기상관함수 기반의 후처리를 이용한 주파수선 음향징표 특징 강화 (Enhancement of Frequency Lines of Acoustic Signature in Vernier Analysis Using the Autocorrelation-based Postprocessing)

  • 본 연구에서는 수동소나 신호의 분석에서 얻어지는 토널 성분, 즉, 주파수선의 하모닉 성분을 강화하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는, 먼저 스펙트럼의 일정 시간에 따른 주파수 빈별 평균값을 구하고, 평균값과의 차이를 이용하여 안정적인 주파수선과 불안정한 주파수선을 구별한다. 그런 다음 불안정한 주파수선에 자기상관함수와 S2PM을 적용하여 배경잡음을 줄이고 하모닉 성분을 강조하게 된다. 실제 어선에서 획득한 수중음향 데이터를 이용한 실험 결과를 분석하였고, 이를 통해 제안한 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Multiple attribute for decision making including user preference will increase the complexity of route selection process. Various approaches have been proposed to solve the optimal route selection problem. In this paper, multi attribute decision making (MADM) algorithms such as Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Weighted Product Method (WPM), Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and Total Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods have been proposed for acoustic signature based optimal route selection to facilitate user with better quality of service. The traffic density state conditions (very low, low, below medium, medium, above medium, high and very high) on the road segment is the occurrence and mixture weightings of traffic noise signals (Tyre, Engine, Air Turbulence, Exhaust, and Honks etc) is considered as one of the attribute in decision making process. The short-term spectral envelope features of the cumulative acoustic signals are extracted using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Classifier (ANFC) is used to model seven traffic density states. Simple point method and AHP has been used for calculation of weights of decision parameters. Numerical results show that WPM, AHP and TOPSIS provide similar performance.

A New Hybrid "Park's Vector - Time Synchronous Averaging" Approach to the Induction Motor-fault Monitoring and Diagnosis

  • Induction motors are critical components in industrial processes since their failure usually lead to an unexpected interruption at the industrial plant. The studies of induction motor behavior during abnormal conditions and the possibility to diagnose different types of faults have been a challenging topic for many electrical machine researchers. In this regard, an efficient and new method to detect the induction motor-fault may be the application of the Time Synchronous Averaging (TSA) to the stator current Park's Vector. The aim of this paper is to present a methodology by which defects in a three-phase wound rotor induction motor can be diagnosed. By exploiting the cyclostationarity characteristics of electrical signals, the TSA method is applied to the stator current Park's Vector, allowing the monitoring of the induction motor operation. Simulation and experimental results are presented in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. The obtained results are largely satisfactory, indicating a promising industrial application of the hybrid Park's Vector-TSA approach.

동기식 디지틀 계위의 동일채널 무선 전송장치구현 및 성능분석 (Implementation of Co-Channel Radio Relay System and Its Performance Evaluation with Synchronous Digital Hierarchy)

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 효율향상 및 성능개선의 일환으로 최근에 개발된 동기식 무선 전송장치의 채널 모델링 및 성능분석에 대해 기술한다. 구현된 장치는 기존의 interleave 채널 배정에 비해 전송용량을 배가 시킬 수 있는 동일채널 방식을 적용하였으며, 성능 및 기능 측면에서 세계최초로 개발(1994년 5월)한 다용도 단일 ASIC 칩과 64-QAM 변.복조와 연동한 장치의 시험 결과를 제시하였다. 13-tap 복소 적응등화기 및 직교편파 간섭제거기의 적용은 기존의 9- 및 11-tap 에 비해 시그너쳐상에서 1.5 ∼ 2.0 dB 이상을 개선하였으며, 직교편파 간섭제거기의 이득은 24.5 dB 의 C/N 에서 약 22.5 dB 이상을 확보하였다. 또한 roll-off 인자를 외부에서 조절 가능한 디지틀 여파기의 적용으로 효율적인 점유 대역폭의 선택 및 관리가 가능토록 하였다. 이러한 고품질의 다용도 ASIC 칩 적용은 동일채널 무선 전송장치의 가용도 개선, 신뢰성 및 고부가가치 창출 등에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.

A SIGNATURE OF CHROMOSPHERIC ACTIVITY IN BROWN DWARFS: A RECENT RESULT FROM NIRLT MISSION PROGRAM

  • We present the latest results from the Mission Program NIRLT (PI: I.Yamamura), the near-infrared spectroscopy of brown dwarfs using the AKARI/IRC grism mode with the spectral resolution of ~ 120. The near-infrared spectra in the wavelength range between 2.5 and $5.0{\mu}m$ are especially important to study the brown dwarf atmospheres because of the presence of major molecular bands, including $CH_4$ at $3.3{\mu}m$, $CO_2$ at $4.2{\mu}m$, CO at $4.6{\mu}m$, and $H_2O$ around $2.7{\mu}m$. We observed 27 sources, and obtained 16 good spectra. Our model fitting reveals deviations between theoretical model and observed spectra in this wavelength range, which may be attributed to the physical condition of the upper atmosphere. The deviations indicate additional heating, which we hypothesize to be due to chromospheric activity. We test this effect by modifying the brown dwarf atmosphere model to artificially increase the temperature of the upper atmosphere, and compare the revised model with observed spectra of early- to mid-L type objects with $H{\alpha}$ emission. We find that the chemical structure of the atmosphere changes dramatically, and the heating model spectra of early-type brown dwarfs can be considerably improved to match the observed spectra. Our result suggests that chromospheric activity is essential to understand early-type brown dwarf atmospheres.

Stator Current Processing-Based Technique for Bearing Damage Detection in Induction Motors

  • Induction motors are the most commonly used electrical drives because they are rugged, mechanically simple, adaptable to widely different operating conditions, and simple to control. The most common faults in squirrel-cage induction motors are bearing, stator and rotor faults. Surveys conducted by the IEEE and EPRI show that the most common fault in induction motor is bearing failure (${\sim}$40% of failure). Thence, this paper addresses experimental results for diagnosing faults with different rolling element bearing damage via motor current spectral analysis. Rolling element bearings generally consist of two rings, an inner and outer, between which a set of balls or rollers rotate in raceways. We set the experimental test bed to detect the rolling-element bearing misalignment of 3 type induction motors with normal condition bearing system, shaft deflection system by external force and a hole drilled through the outer race of the shaft end bearing of the four pole test motor. This paper takes the initial step of investigating the efficacy of current monitoring for bearing fault detection by incipient bearing failure. The failure modes are reviewed and the characteristics of bearing frequency associated with the physical construction of the bearings are defined. The effects on the stator current spectrum are described and related frequencies are also determined. This is an important result in the formulation of a fault detection scheme that monitors the stator currents. We utilized the FFT, Wavelet analysis and averaging signal pattern by inner product tool to analyze stator current components. The test results clearly illustrate that the stator signature can be used to identify the presence of a bearing fault.

영양진단을 위한 신속한 엽분석 방법으로서 근적외분광분석기의 이용 (Application of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy as a Rapid Leaf Analysis Method to Evaluate Nutritional Diagnosis in Apple (Malus Domestica Borkh, Fuji) and grape(Vitis Labrusca, Campbell Early))

  • 근적외 분광분석기를 이용하여 과수의 영양진단을 위한 신속한 엽분석 수단으로 활용하고자 본 시험을 수행하였다. 사과 '후지'품종 잎 177점, 포도 '캠벨얼리' 품종 잎130점의 시료를 이용하여 1,100~2.500nm까지 근적외영역의 흡수스펙트럼을 측정하였다. 총질소 분석은 살리실산-황산으로 분해후 켈달 증류하여 측정하였다. 근적외 스펙트럼과 총 질소함량과의 상관분석을 이용, 검량식을 개발하였고 화학분석한 결과에 대한 예측식을 구하였다. 사과는 중회귀계수 0.965, 검량식의 표준오차 0.086, 포도는 중회귀계수 0.926, 검량식의 표준오차 0.152이었다. 개발된 검량식을 이용하여 예측식을 작성한 결과는 사과의 경우 0.360, 포도 0.210의 결과를 얻었다. 지역간, 년차간 발생되는 변이가 보정된다면 신속한 엽분석 수단이 될 것으로 판단된다.

배기가스를 고려한 함정의 계절별 적외선 신호 특성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Seasonal IR Signature Characteristics of a Naval Ship with Plume Gas Effect)

  • This paper is a part of developing a computer code that can be used to generate IR images of a naval ship by considering the emitted and reflected infrared signals. The spectral radiance received by an IR sensor is consisted of the self-emitted component from the ship surface, the reflected component of the solar/sky irradiance at the ship surface, the emitted radiance from the ship surface and the exhaust plume gas, and the scattered radiance by the atmosphere. The plume gas radiance occupies a large part of the emitted radiance from a naval ship in operation. Therefore plume gas radiance must be taken into account when calculating the radiance from a naval ship for reliable IR images. In this paper, IR images of a naval ship with the exhaust gas effect in various environmental conditions are generated by using an exhaust gas prediction model called the JPL model. The contrast radiance (CR) values of the IR images are calculated to analyze the effect of the exhaust gas radiance quantitatively. The results obtained by quantitative analysis show that the IR signatures with the exhaust plume gas are 2.26 times larger than those neglecting the plume gas effect. The effect of the exhaust plume gas is shown to be more eminent in winter than in summer in the daytime.

Tracing history of the episodic accretion process in protostars

  • Low-mass stars form by the gravitational collapse of dense molecular cores. Observations and theories of low-mass protostars both suggest that accretion bursts happen in timescales of ~100 years with high accretion rates, so called episodic accretion. One mechanism that triggers accretion bursts is infalling fragments from the outer disk. Such fragmentation happens when the disk is massive enough, preferentially activated during the embedded phase of star formation (Class 0 and I). Most observations and models focus on the gas structure of the protostars undergoing episodic accretion. However, the dust and ice composition are poorly understood, but crucial to the chemical evolution through thermal and energetic processing via accretion burst. During the burst phase, the surrounding material is heated up, and the chemical compositions of gas and ice in the disk and envelope are altered by sublimation of icy molecules from grain surfaces. Such alterations leave imprints in the ice composition even when the temperature returns to the pre-burst level. Thus, chemical compositions of gas and ice retain the history of past bursts. Infrared spectral observations of the Spitzer and AKARI revealed a signature caused by substantial heating, toward many embedded protostars at the quiescent phase. We present the AKARI IRC 2.5-5.0 ㎛ spectra for embedded protostars to trace down the characteristics of accretion burst across the evolutionary stages. The ice compositions obtained from the absorption features therein are used as a clock to measure the timescale after the burst event, comparing the analyses of the gas component that traced the burst frequency using the different refreeze-out timescales. We discuss ice abundances, whose chemical change has been carved in the icy mantle, during the different timescales after the burst ends.

위성 및 지상자력계에서의 PI 2 파동 동시 관측 (SIMULTANEOUS OBSERVATIONS OF PI 2 PULSATIONS ON THE SATELLITE AND GROUND-BASED MEASUREMENTS)

  • 1989년 2월에 일본의 우주과학연구소(ISAS: Institute of Space and Astronautical Science)에서 발사한 과학위성 EXOS-D의 전기장 측정기와 지자기 자오선 동경 190/210 선상에 위치하고 있는 17개의 지상자력계들로부터 1994년 11월 09일 18시 50분부터 약 20분에 걸쳐 Pi 2 파동이 검출되었다. 우리가 이용한 지상자력계는 지자기 경도는 동경 185.02에서 동경 269.36사이, 지자기 위도는 -37.09에서 65.67사이에, L값은 1.00에서 5.89사이에 위치하고 있다. 또한 같은 시각에 또 다른 위성 ETS-VI의 자기장 측정기의 자료와 지상의 Kakioka(지자기 동경 208.00, 지자기 위도 26.70), Hermanus(지자기 동경 82.97, 지자기 위도 -33.78) 지상자력계의 자료도 함께 사용하여 비교하여 보았다. Pi 2 파동의 주파수를 알아내기 위하여 FFT를 이용하였으며, L값이 2.35인 EXOS-D 위성과 지상자력계들에서는 주파수가 약 25mHz에서 최대 값을 보였으나, L값이 6.60인 ETS-VI위성에서는 같은 주파수가 검출되지 않았다. 또한 지상자력계 중에서 MUT 지상자력계의 자료를 기준으로 하여 위성들과 나머지 지상자력계들간의 상관관계, 위상 차를 조사하여, 발견된 Pi 2 파 동 현상이 플라즈마구 내에서 형성된 공동(cavity) mode에 의한 현상임을 알 수 있었다.
