디지털 이미지 상관관계를 이용한 Al 6061-T6 인장시험편의 변형률 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Strain Measurement for Al 6061-T6 Tensile Specimen using the Digital Image Correlation)

  • A digital image correlation(DIC) method is a whole-field measurement technique that acquires surface displacements and strains from images information which characterized a random speckle as intensity grey levels. Recently years, this DIC method is being developed and used increasingly in various research. In this study, we tried to apply to aluminum alloy(Al 6061-T6) using DIC method and strain gauge. DIC results demonstrated the usefulness and ability to determine a strain. The test specimen used in this study was an aluminum alloy(Al 6061-T6, thickness 1 mm). For a strain measurement, a strain gauge was attached at the center of a specimen. A specimen was lightly sprayed with a white paint and a black dot pattern was sprayed on its fully dried white surface to obtain a random speckle. The experimental apparatus used to perform the tensile test consisted of universal dynamic tester(5 kN; T.O. Co.) under displacement speed of 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0 mm/min. A Model 5100 B Scanner(V. Co.) used to obtain a strain. A CCD camera connected to a PC uses to record the images of the specimen surface. After acquisition, the images were transferred to PC where the DIC software was implemented. An acquired image was evaluated by the DIC program. DIC method for displacement and strain was suggests and it results show a good consistent remarkably. DIC results demonstrated the usefulness and ability to determine surface strain was better than by using classical measurements. The strain field measurement using a DIC is so useful that it can be applied to map strain distributions at a full area. DIC method can evaluate a strain change so it can predict a location of fracture. The findings of the investigation suggest that the DIC method is an efficient and reliable tool for full-field monitoring and detailed damage characterization of materials.

레이저 간섭계를 이용한 배관 용접부 잔류응력 평가 (Evaluation of Residual Stress on Pipe Welded Joints Using Laser Interferometry)

  • 용접 잔류응력은 용접공정에서 발생하는 하는데, 용접 구조물의 결함 유발 및 파괴의 주요 원인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 전자 처리 레이저 스페클 간섭법을 이용하여 원전 배관의 용접부 잔류응력을 측정하였다. 인장시험기를 이용하여 용접된 배관에 압축 하중을 가하였으며, 면내 변형 측정 간섭계를 이용하여 용접부와 모재부의 변형을 측정하였고, 제안된 수식에 의하여 탄성계수를 측정하였다. 용접 배관에 가해지는 하중에 따라 변형이 일정하게 증가하며, 용접 배관의 모재부와 용접부에 발생한 변형을 비교하였을 때, 모재부의 변형이 더 크게 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 용접 배관 모재부의 탄성계수는 202.46 GPa, 용접부의 탄성 계수는 212.14 GPa, 잔류응력은 6.29 MPa로 측정되었다.

Dual-Beam Shearography를 이용한 물체의 내부결함 측정 (Measurements of Inner Defects of the Plate using Dual-beam Shearography)

  • 본 연구에서는 물체의 내부 결함 측정을 위해서 레이저 스페클에 바탕을 둔 dual-beam shearography 기술을 이용하였다. 층 밀림을 만들기 위해서는 여러 가지 간섭계 중에서 마이켈슨 층 밀림 간섭계를 사용하였다. 열전도도가 낮은 아크릴 판 내부에 인위적인 결함을 만들어서 시료로 사용하였다. 시료에 레이저 beam을 조사하여 산란된 빛을 마이켈슨 층 밀림 간섭계를 통하여 스페클 간섭무의를 얻었으며, 위상이동기술을 통하여 위상도를 얻었다. 단일 beam을 시료에 조사할 경우, 물체의 변형의 in-plane과 out-of-plane 성분이 혼합된 상태로 측정되기 때문에 결함에 대한 정확한 분석이 불가능하다. 따라서 두 성분을 분리하기 위해서 dual-beam shearography 기술을 도입하였다. 내부 결함이 있는 시료에 이중 beam을 조사하여 변형 전의 간섭 스페클을 얻고, 약간의 전기 열을 가하여 미세한 변형을 가한 후의 간섭스페클을 얻은 후 의 위상도를 얻은 후 LS filtering과 unwrapping 처리를 통하여 내부 결함 부위를 쉽게 알아볼 수 있도록 하였을 뿐 아니라, 외력에 의한 물체의 미세 변형에 따른 결함 부위에서의 in-plane과 out-of-plane 변형성분의 위상도와 대략적인 변형 정도를 알아낼 수 있었다. 전기 열에 의한 내부결함이 있는 아크릴 판의 변형은 주로 z 방향(out-of-plane)으로 일어났으며 이것은 낮은 열전도도 때문이라는 예측과 잘 일치하였다.

시간평균 ESPI를 이용한 디스크 브레이크의 진동 모드 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vibration mode Shape Measurement of Disk brake by Using Time-Averaged ESPI)

  • Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) is a powerful tool to measure the vibration mode shape and resonance frequency for modal analysis. As for ESPI this method is very suited for full-field measurement of objects in industrial areas because the interferograms are recorded with a video camera and evaluated in real-time with a computer. In this study We performed experiments at the same constraint conditions as disk brake of the practical vehicle as far as possible and obtained the resonance frequencies and vibration mode shapes by using time-averaged ESPI at once. Finally to assure the expetimental results by time-averaged ESPI we also compare those with results obtained by Laser Doppler Vibrometer and obtained good agreement.

ESPI 법에 의한 복합재 평판의 인장 및 진동 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study under behavior of tensile and vibration in composite plate by ESPI method)

  • This study discusses a non-contact optical technique electronic, electronic speckle pattern interferometry(ESPI) that is well suited for in-plane and out-of-plane deformation measurement Used as specimen which has the boundary condition of two clamped parallel edges composite material AS4/PEEK[30/-30/90]s was analyzed by ESPI to determined the characteristics of tensile and vibration. These are quantitativly compared with the result of FEM analysis. Finally the results of this study are briefly summarized as follows : (1) In the in-plane strain analysis by comparison of theoretical results with experimental results qualitatively we confirmed that measurement errors are within 3 % in case of accuracy (2) From comparison of experimental vibration modes with numerical vibration mode shapes by the FEM analysis quantitatively we confirmed that vibration mode measurement by the ESPI has high accuacy.

스트로보스코픽 전자 스페클 패턴 간섭법을 이용한 디스크 브레이크의 진동 모드의 정량적 가시화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Quantitiative visualization of Vibration Mode Shape of Disk Brake by Using Stroboscopic ESPI)

  • Brake squeal noise has been a problem since the early days of motoring . It is important to obtain vibration mode shape for reduction of brake noise . Stroboscopic Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry is a very powerful measuring method for study of vibrating objects in static state compared with conventional methods because this method can give both resonance frequency and quantitative visualization of vibration mode shape at the same time. In this paper, we performed qualitative visualization and quantitative analysis of vibration mode shpae of disk brake by using stroboscopic ESPI and phase shifting method. The stroboscopic wavefronts are obtained by chopping continuous wave laser beam using acousto-optic modulator .Experiments were performed at the same constraint conditions as disk brake of the practical vehicle as far as possible. The experimental results of this paper show quantitative measurement of vibration mode shape and quantiative visualization of vibration amplitude of disk brake with 3D plotting.

Shearography의 1차도함수로부터 면외변위의 정량적 추출 (Quantitative Determination of Out-of-plane Displacement by Shearography)

  • The paper describes the quantitative determination of out-of-plane displacement from result of Shearogrpahy, which can measure the first-order partial derivative of out-of-plane displacement directly. However, the differential sensitivity of Shearography is related to the amount of shearing, which is manually adjustable in optical interferometer and affects the quantitative determination. The relationship between those is inspected by comparing ESPI with Shearography. From the result, the amount of shearing plays a modulation factor of out-of-plane displacement and small amount of shearing gives good agreement with out-of-plane displacement.

  • Until now, strain gage technique and accelerometer for the diagnosis safety of constructions are used widely. However, the limits of these methods are revealed. But Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) that uses Pulse Laser is noncontact, whole-field, real-time measuring method also dull to disturbance and can achieve test result in a very short time. It has various strong point in spot application, swift establishment, and dynamic conduct analysis for the entire field of Laser illuminate. This author analyzed vibration characteristic of using the Pulse ESPI System, the diagnosis safety of bridges, to simplify the analysis of the dynamic conduct of a large construction.

  • This paper presents the performance and problems in analysis method and testing system of Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI) method, in measuring two-dimensional in-plane displacement. The anyalysis result of measurement by ESPI is quite comparable to that of measurement by strain gauge method. This implieds that the method of ESPI is a very effective tool in non-contact two-dimensional in-planc strain analysis. But there is a controversal point,measurment error. This error is discussed to be affected not by ESPI method itseif, but by its analysis scheme of the interference fringe,where the first-order interpolation has been applied to the points of strain measured. In this case, it is turned out that the more errors would be occured in the large interval of fringe. so, this paper describes a computer method for drawing when the height is available only for some arbitary collection of points, the method is based on a distance-weighted, least-squares approximation technique, with the weight varying with the distance of the data points.

  • Internal defects are mainly caused by a corrosive action and degradation in the pipe used in a nuclear power plant or factory. The ESPI method have the many advantages when compared with conventional method. The advantage are the area measurement ability at one time and non-contact measurement ability in the real-time. In this paper, we studied on the measurement of a internal defect by using out of plane ESPI technique. Here, we compared the experimental results using out of plane ESPI with the FEM results.
