여수 연안에서 자망에 어획된 어류의 종조성 및 양적변동 (Fluctuations in abundance and species composition of fishes collected by gill net fisheries in coastal water of Yeosu, Korea)

  • Monthly variation in abundance and species composition of the fishes were investigated based on specimens collected by gill net in coastal water of Yeosu from October, 2009 and February, May, August, 2010. The collected fishes were 1,529 individuals (183,840g) of the total, identified into 6 orders, 16 families and 24 species. The most dominant order fish was Perciformes comprised 9 species, 7 families, and followed Pleuronectiformes comprised 5 species, 3 families, Scorpaeniformes comprised 5 species, 2 families. These 3 orders constituted 81.1% of the total collected fish. During the study, most dominant species was Hexagrammos otakii accounted for 189 individuals (12.4%) of the total, followed by Lateolabrax japonicus 165 individuals (10.8%), Hexagrammos agrammus 154 individuals (10.0%). The fish was collected by a gill net in coastal water of Yeosu from October, 2009 and February, May, August, 2010, the diversity index of the fishes was 2.09~2.66, which was the highest in August, 2010 and the lowest in February, 2010. The evenness index of them was 0.84~0.89, which was the highest in August, 2010 and the lowest in February, 2010 and the richness index of them was 2.02~3.14, which was the highest in October, 2009 and the lowest in February, 2010. The analyzed species diversity index by the each stations was 2.47~2.66 and the evenness index was 0.84~0.90 and the richness index 2.99~3.37. The similarity of community structure per season was very high which was the least in spring and fall. In addition, the community structure was very similar in state 3 and 2 out of each stations.

진해만 남서부에 출현하는 자치어 군집의 종조성과 계절변동 (Seasonal Variation in Species Composition and Abundance of Larval Fish Assemblages in the Southwestern Jinhae Bay, Korea)

  • 진해만 남서부에 출현하는 자치어 종조성의 계절변동을 연구하기 위하여 2009년 1월에서 12월까지 매월 RN80 네트을 이용하여 시료를 채집하였다. 조사 기간 동안 24과 46종의 자치어가 채집되었다. 우점종은 청어(Clupea pallasii), 쥐노래미(Hexagrammos otakii), 전어(Konosirus punctatus), 멸치(Engraulis japonicus), 청베도라치(Parablennius yatabei), 앞동갈베도라치(Omobranchus elegans) 순으로 많이 채집되었는데 이들 6종은 전체 채집개체수의 92.7%를 차지하였다. 어종수, 채집 개체수, 종다양도지수는 뚜렷한 계절 변동을 나타내었다. 종수와 개체수는 각각 7월과 1월에 가장 높은 값을 나타내었다. 주성분분석(PCA)와 상관분석은 군집구조와 우점종들의 출현량이 수온과 유의한 관계가 있음을 보여주었다. 특히, 청어, 쥐노래미, 멸치, 청베도라치의 출현량은 수온과 유의한 관련성이 있었다.

Diversity, Interspecific Interaction and Abundance of Undergrowth in Monocultures and Integrated Systems of Natural Rubber Plantation in Danzhou, Southern China

  • The negative impact of monoculture rubber plantations on biodiversity and associated ecological processes/ecosystem services has led to suggestions on the use of integrated land use systems for rubber cultivation and production in order to ensure environmental sustainability. However, there is paucity of information on the effect of such integrated land use systems on the diversity and abundance of the rubber plantation undergrowth. We evaluated and compared undergrowth plant species composition, richness, abundance, diversity and interaction, in three integrated systems (Rubber-Strelitzia reginae Integrated System - RSrIS, Rubber-Podocarpus nagi Integrated System - RPnIS & Naturally Managed Rubber Plantation - NMRP) with three Rubber Monoculture Plantations (RMP1, RMP2 & RMP3) adjacent to the integrated systems, respectively, at the Investigation and Experiment Station of Tropical Crops, Danzhou, Hainan, China. Undergrowth species density was higher in the rubber monocultures than in the integrated systems except in RSrIS. Species richness and diversity were also higher in the monocultures except in NMRP. Species similarity/interaction between the monocultures and the integrated systems was highest between RMP3 and NMRP. The NRMP proved to be the best model of natural rubber integrated system for the conservation of undergrowth species richness, diversity and interspecific interaction. However, the conservation of undergrowth species in other forms of integrated natural systems can be enhanced by considering the ecology of species to be integrated in terms of their growth characteristics, competitive nature, and ability to grow in association with other species.

허베이스피리트호 원유 유출사고 후 태안 만리포 해빈의 천해 어류 종조성 변화 (Change in Species Composition of Shallow Water Fish in Malipo Beach after Hebei Spirit Oil Spill off Taean)

  • 2007년 12월의 태안 Hebei Spirit 유류 유출지점으로부터 약 10 km 떨어진 액상의 유류 오염 피해를 직접 받은 만리포 조간대 천해역 어류의 종조성 변화를 분석하였다. 어류는 2008년 2월부터 2009년 12월까지 월별로 그믐 사리 간조 때 주야 각 5회씩 지인망으로 채집하였다. 월별 주야간 어류 종조성은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 2008년에는 총 21종, 1,032마리, 6,544.2 g의 어류가 채집되었고, 2009년에는 31종, 4,206마리, 35,659.6 g의 어류가 채집되었다. 출현한 어류는 소형어이거나 유어들이었으며, 채집량이 많은 어류들은 연안 주거종이었고 계절에 따라 출현하는 회유종은 양적으로 적었다. 출현종 가운데 가숭어 (Chelon haematochelius), 조피볼락 (Sebastes schlegelii), 복섬 (Takifugu niphobles)과 문치가자미(Pleuronectes yokohamae)가 조사 기간 중 우점하였다. 2008년의 월별 채집생물량과 종 다양성지수는 2009년에 비하여 유의하게 낮았다. 2008년 2월에서 6월까지는 일부 주거종들 만이 채집되어 출현종수와 채집량이 낮았고, 5월에 가장 낮았으며 7월 이후 채집량이 증가하였다. 2009년에는 봄에 수온이 상승하며 출현종수와 채집량이 증가하여 하계에 최대값을 보이고 가을에 낮아지는 전형적인 온대 천해 어류 종조성 변화를 보였으며, 오염 피해가 적었던 곳과 비슷한 양상을 보였다. 만리포에서 오염 이후 초기 몇 달간은 천해어류 출현종수와 채집량이 적었던 것은 잔존유류의 영향과 조간대 모래 세척 등의 유류 방제작업에 따른 서식처 교란 때문으로 보인다. 2008년 9월 이후 월별 채집량이 2009년의 같은 달 채집량과 큰 차이가 없어 2008년 9월 이후에는 잔존 유류 영향이 어류 종조성에 미치는 영향은 크지 않은 것으로 추정된다.

대한해협에서 유종섬모충류의 종조성과 시간적 변동 (Temporal Variations and Species Composition of Planktonic Tintinnids (Protist, Ciliophora) in the Korea Strait)

  • 본 연구는 대한해협에서 유종섬모충류의 종조성과 시간적 변동 양상을 파악하기 위하여 2007년 1월부터 12월까지 2개 정점에서 17회에 걸쳐서 수행되었다. 조사기간 동안 출현한 유종섬모충류는 총 22속 51종으로 연안종과 외양종은 각각 9속 27종과 14속 24종이 관찰되었으며 정점 간 종조성의 차이가 있었다. 정점 1에서는 연안종의 출현이 우세하였던 반면에 정점 2에서는 외양종이 우세하였다. 계절별로 동계와 춘계에는 연안종이, 하계와 추계에는 외양종이 비교적 많이 출현하였다. 출현빈도에 따른 최우점종인 Stenosemella nivalis와 S. pacifica은 연안종으로써 전 조사기간에 걸쳐서 출현하였으며, Acanthostomella norvegica, Amphorellopsis acuta, Epilpocyloides ralumensis, Protorhabdonella curta 등 많은 외양종들은 33 psu 이하 저염기와 $24^{\circ}C$ 이상 고수온기인 7월~10월에 집중적으로 출현하였다. 유종섬모충류의 현존량은 0~1,845 cells $L^{-1}$의 범위를 보였으며, 저염 및 고수온기인 하계와 추계에 높은 현존량을 보였고 정점 l에서 정점 2에 비해 높았다. 직접상관분석 및 다중회귀분석결과, 유종섬모충류(특히, 외양종)는 전반적으로 식물플랑크톤(엽록소-a) 보다는 수온 및 염분과 유의성 있는 상관성을 보였으며, 수온과 염분이 현존량 분포에 영향을 주는 중요한 환경요인임을 암시하였다. 본 연구결과 연구해역의 복잡한 해황이 유종섬모충류 현존량 및 종 조성 분포에 중요한 영향을 주었던 것으로 판단된다.

Polychaete Taxocenes Variability Associated with Sediment Pollution Loading in the Peter the Great Bay (the East Sea/Japan Sea)

  • Variations in species diversity and abundance of polychaete taxocenes that occurred in 1980-1989 under different contamination levels of bottom sediments were studied in three areas of Peter the Great Bay. The most polluted area was shown to be the Golden Horn Inlet where contaminant contents in the bottom sediments exceed the threshold values of negative biota alterations. Amursky Bay is characterized by a moderate level of contamination, while Ussuriysky Bay has the lowest level of contamination. Pollutant contents vary considerably within the same areas and their separate patches are polluted differently. An integral index characterizing the contamination of bottom sediments is proposed. This index is an average grade of the rank value of contaminant contents in sediments. The index was used to compare the contamination level and data on polychaete species diversity and abundance. The highest species diversity of polychaetes is found in the least affected zones. Monotonous decrease of the species number, as well as decrease in the indices of diversity and evenness, is correlated with pollution level increases. Significant growth of the average polychaete biomass and polychaete density is observed in the case of an increase of contamination from low to moderate levels. Conversely, the biomass and abundance of polychaetes decline following an increase in contamination.

Impact of Artificial Illumlination on Zooplankton Dynamics

  • Impact of artificial illumination on zooplankton dynamics has been studied in Tongyong marine ranch during the period from August 1998 to August 1999. Monthly sampling has been carried out to collect zooplankters from both natural waters and artificially illuminated waters at night. A total of 48 taxa of zooplankton occurred during the study. Copepods showed the prosperity in species number with 21 species. Every sample from illuminated waters consisted of move than 15 species except February while less than 15 species in samples from natural waters during the winter. Benthic amphipods occurred abundantly in illuminated waters. Zooplankton abundance was revealed to be increased in illuminated waters mainly due to the gathering of amphipods (4,500 indiv. $m^{-3})$ in September and October. Twenty times of zooplankton abundance was recorded in illuminated waters when compared with that in natural ones in September due to the gathering: of amphipods and ten times by the explosion of N. scintillans in August 1999. However, no distinct difference in the abundance was observed between two waters in the winter. Zooplankton gathering with artificial illumination seemed to be effective in amphipods, while copepods were hardly affected by the artificial illumination at night.

조간대 감습지 수로지역의 저생조류의 종조성 및 일차생산 (Species Composition and Primary Production of the Benthic Algal Assemblage along a Channel in Salt Marsh, Kyonggi Bay, Korea)

  • Studies on species compostion, promary production of benthic algal assemblage were carried out along a channel of the salt marsh near Inch'on, Kyonggi Bay, Korea. Possible biological, physical and KDICical factors controlling the aglal assemblage were also examined. The oveall diatoms were encountered one hundred and thirty-seven taxa, of which the dominant species were Paralia sulcata and Cymatosira belgica. These two species accounted for 32.6% relative abundance throughout the study period. Diatom taxa had no clear seasonal pattern in abundance analysis. But at the algal blooming period in spring, euglenoids occurred with a high abundance. The chlorophyll a content of benthic algae showed definite seasonal pattern. The algal biomass of the appeared to influence the spatial fluctuation in the algal biomass of the channel was regulated primarily by water content of sediment. Grazing by zoobenthos apperaed to influence the spatial fluctuation in the algal biomass of the sediment surface. The algal photosynthesis was measured in the laboratory with oxygen method. Photo-synthetic rate was independent of the temperature under the lower irradiance. The gross production from March to November was estimated to be 190g C/m2 at the channel slope. Photosynthetic efficiency was 0.37% on the basis of the photosyntherically active radiation for the study period.

Distribution and Abundance of Planktonic Shrimps in the Southern Sea of Korea during 1987-1991

  • Distribution and abundance of planktonic shrimps were studied in the southern sea of Korea from 1987 to 1991. Nine species of five genera belonging to three families were identified. Of these, Leptochela sydniensis and Lucifer intermedius were predominant species and Lucifer penicilifer and Lucifer typus were common species. Remaining five species, Acetes chinensis, Leptochela gracilis, Lucifer chacei, Process wheeleri and Sergestes similis occurred sporadically and rarely. The distribution pattern of planktonic shrimps varied with species and sampling periods. L. intermedius occurred abundantly along inshore waters. L. penicilifer and L. typus appeared in both inshore and offshore waters, but more abundantly in offshore waters under influence of the Tsushima Current. In conclusion, the distribution patterns of planktonic shrimps may be related with hydrographic characteristics and seasonality in the southern sea of Korea.

진해 마천만에서의 동물플랑크톤 군집의 계절적 분포

  • In order to clarify the seasonal composition and abundance of zooplankton commuuty In Macheon Bay. the study was carried out trimonthly during the period from April 1996 to January 1997. 1 species of Cnidana. 1 species of Annelida, 2 Ima of Moiluscs.3 species of Rotifera, 4 species and 4 larspecies was Tintinnopsis beroidea In the spring, Copepodite In the summer, Tintinnopsis beroidea In the autumn and Ceratium risus In the winter. Abundance of zooplankton ranged firom 4.720 to 41,215 Inds./1 It was high In the summer (41,215 inds./l) and low In the spring 14,720 inds./l). Dominant index ranged from 0.133 (in the spring) to 0.551 (in the winter). Species diversity inden ranged from 1.114 (in the winters to 1.996 (in the spring).
