  • Objective : For the purpose of making use the wild edible plants of Ulleung island smoothly, this study was designed. Method : For the first time, I searched the wild edible plants of Ulleung island from various data. And I examined herbological books and research papers on the wild edible plants of Ulleung island. Result : The herbaceous plants in Ulleung island were 12 family and 22 species, Compositae and Liliaceae plants take the highest number of them. The woody plants in Ulleung island were 1 family(Araliaceae) and 2 species. The herbal medicines that originated from the wild edible greens of Ulleung island were 25 species. The herbal medicines that have the effects of clearing away heat(淸熱), eliminating toxin(解毒), subduing swelling(消腫) and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis(活血祛瘀) take the highest number of the effects of these herbal medicines. Conclusion : For the purpose of making use the wild edible plants of Ulleung island smoothly, we should recognize not only medical benefits but also matters that pay special attention.

  • This paper discussed the use of the urban greening space beside nature land----special sites of urban Greening. Consider: the special sites of urban greening are referred to the space formed by urban building and framing, where plants can grow under natural or artificial condition. Filly using those spaces will efficiently increase green area, improving ecological environment and landscape in urban area. A classification to special sites of urban greening was put forward, which are the habits of plant combine with the form of buildings. The present status and future trends on urban greening at special sites was discussed and analyzed. Consider: there are two developing trends of the research of urban greening at special sites. Firstly, it is more naturalize and ecologize greening landscape. Secondly, It will take form a techologize in the process of constructing and materials.

  • Radicoid structure of herbaceous communities in Mt. Kumbyung, Chunchon, Kangwon-Do was clarified emphasizing on the dominance of clonal plants in relation to vegetation development. In the total vegetation, 46% species identified were rhizomatous, 26% were species with tap roots, and 13% were stoloniferous species. Thus, all clonal species, including plants with bulb, corm and tuber, covered 62.8% of the total species. in the understory of Quercus, Pinus and Larix forests, 68.2% were clonal, which means 5% more compare to total vegetaion. Dominance of clonal plants became more conspicuous as their importance value was calculated. That is, they covered average 86% for the following three communities: 85% in Quercus, 95% in Pinus, and 76% in Larix, Especially, the rhizomatous plants were remarkable. Overall, clonal species dominated over the other radicoid types in terms of not only the number of species, but also the importance value. Dominance of these species was more peculiar in understory of forests, indicating the occupancy of clonal plants was related to the vegetation development.

  • National interest in nuclear safety continues to increase. One of the policies that the government is pursuing is to change a temporary position to a permanent position for irregular special security guards of Nuclear power plants. At this point in time, it is urgent to discuss the method of their physical fitness test because duties of special security guards such as arrest and self-defense, unarmed defensive tactics, proficiency with semiautomatic rifle, etc, demands a lot of physical fitness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical fitness tests of police, firefighters and soldiers in Korea, US and Japan through literature review. After that, a new fitness test method suitable for special security guards of nuclear power plants was derived through expert meetings. This study also suggested a guideline to analyze the fitness test results so that the developed fitness method can be introduced to the field. For this purpose, physical fitness tests were conducted on 74 subjects. Based on the results of the experiment, the expected records of special security guard fitness tests were presented.
