Design of Moving Objects Server for Location Based Services

  • Recently, location based services, which make use of location information of moving objects, have obtained increasingly high attention. The moving objects are time-evolving spatial objects, that is, their locations are dynamically changed as time varies. Generally, GIS server stores and manages the spatial objects, of which locations are rarely changed. The traditional GIS server, however, has a difficulty to manage the moving objects, due to the fact of locations being frequently changed and the trajectory information (past locations of moving objects) being managed. In this paper, we have designed a moving object server, which stores and manages the locations in order to support various location based services. The moving object server is composed of a location acquisition component, a location storage component, and a location query component. The contribution of this paper is that we integrate the each work for location acquisition, storage, and query into a moving objects server.

  • The purpose of this paper is to take a closer look at an area having shorted emergence facilities and to determine optional candidate sites instead of vulnerable area by using GIS spatial analysis. Newly determined new candidate is performed by concerning spatial efficiency and spatial equity for a public service. It was determined through using the analyzing of the physical accessibility measure, the Location-Allocation, sort of classic model in spatial statistics and general network analysis. The area of this research has been used in administrative boundary of Young-Dong in Gangneung including 13 emergency, medical hospitals, 46 fire-stations and sub-fire stations. In general terms, what all this show is that the way we are approached for geographical view from using GIS spatial analyzing technique of determined location and allocation problem by the social, economical, political factor and simple administrative discrimination at the meantime. At the same time, with problem occurred in the space it is possible to make an Effective proposal or means, policy, decision for new candidate location-allocation suggesting optimum model.

  • Location tracking is used to keep track of the location information of a mobile terminal in an idle state for a call setup between mobile terminals. In this paper, we introduce a new location tracking strategy that utilizes spatial locality to have better performance than a movement based location tracking strategy. We reduce a lot of unnecessary location updates by updating the location information of a mobile terminal using the virtual movement path, which is generated after removing spatial localities in the actual movement path. Simulation results show that the proposed strategy greatly reduces the overall location tracking cost.

A Study on the Location and Spatial Organization of the Byeong San Confucian Academy (병산서원(屛山書院)의 입지(立地)와 공간구성(空間構成)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study aims to discussion the characteristics of location and spatial organization of the Byeong San confucian academy. To do this, we studied in two ways; analysis of the present conditions and photographing, research materials about the form of physical structure and review of historical documents. The result of analysis in the sight of the location and spatial structure was good matched. The spatial organization of the Byeong San confucian academy was divided into lecturing space and sacrificial space. In the Mandaeru on Byeong San confucian academy was imported borrowed scenery of surrounding landscape and while placed arranging various constituent elements of the small-scale pond and visual perception in trying to formalize the landscape. The result of this study, analysis of axis and terrace shows backgrounds of these locations shows that the political and social, economical phenomena were influenced to the locations and spatial organization of the Byeong San Confucian Academy.

  • This paper aims to discussion the characteristics of location and spatial organization on the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy). To do this, we studied in analysis of the present conditions and photographing, research materials about the from of physical structure and review of historical documents. The result of analysis in the sight of the location and spatial organization was good matched. The spatial organization of the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy) was divided into entry space, lecturing space, management space and sacrificial space. Jonhakhumyo constructs axis of “Sanangru - Ipdeokmun - Yangseongdang - Naesammun - Sungryesa” and Eungdodang that not removed hall with 1880 shows characteristics a right angle in the left side of axis remove to location of present 1971. The result of this study, analysis of axis and Spatial structure shows backgrounds of these locations shows that the political and social, economical phenomena were influenced to the locations and spatial organization of the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy).

Geohashed Spatial Index Method for a Location-Aware WBAN Data Monitoring System Based on NoSQL

  • The exceptional development of electronic device technology, the miniaturization of mobile devices, and the development of telecommunication technology has made it possible to monitor human biometric data anywhere and anytime by using different types of wearable or embedded sensors. In daily life, mobile devices can collect wireless body area network (WBAN) data, and the co-collected location data is also important for disease analysis. In order to efficiently analyze WBAN data, including location information and support medical analysis services, we propose a geohash-based spatial index method for a location-aware WBAN data monitoring system on the NoSQL database system, which uses an R-tree-based global tree to organize the real-time location data of a patient and a B-tree-based local tree to manage historical data. This type of spatial index method is a support cloud-based location-aware WBAN data monitoring system. In order to evaluate the proposed method, we built a system that can support a JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and Binary JSON (BSON) document data on mobile gateway devices. The proposed spatial index method can efficiently process location-based queries for medical signal monitoring. In order to evaluate our index method, we simulated a small system on MongoDB with our proposed index method, which is a document-based NoSQL database system, and evaluated its performance.

Dynamic Cell Leveling to Support Location Based Queries in R-trees (R-tree에서 위치 기반 질의를 지원하기 위한 동적 셀 레벨링)

  • Location Based Services(LBSs) in mobile environments become very popular recently. For efficient LBSs, spatial database management systems must need a spatial indexing scheme such as R-trees in order to manage the huge spatial database. However, it may need unnecessary disk accesses since it needs to access objects which are not actually concerned to user's location-based queries. In this paper, to support the location-based queries efficiently, we propose a CLR-tree(Cell Leveling R-tree) in which a dynamic cell is built up within the minimum bounding rectangle of R-trees' node. The cell level of nodes is compared with the query's cell level in location-based query processing and determines the minimum search space. Also, we propose the insertion, split, deletion, and search algorithms for CRL-trees. From the experimental results, we see that a CLR-tree is able to decrease $5{\sim}20%$ of disk accesses from those of R-trees. So, a CLR-tree can be used for fast accessing spatial objects to user's location-based queries in LBSs.

  • The purpose of this study aims to preserve biodiversity in increasingly fragmented green patches for spatial analysis of planting on the eco-corridors and to optimize the target species, the location, width, cross section of the eco-corridors. It was suggested that eco-corridors should have to planned at early stages of road planning so that the number and locations of eco-corridors in advance. Ecological corridor is the facility to connect two habitats fragmented by road, dam, housing and industrial area. And, everyone agree that ecological corridor is important useful structural component that help animal movement in fragmented landscapes. However, ecological corridors have many problems of the recorded the size of corridor, planting species to nearby exiting vegetation species and structure. The most important facts that there are no consideration for location of animal migration and behavior using eco-corridors. This study was carried out to spatial analysis of eco-corridors location, satellite data and GIS were used to analyze for searching optimum location of the eco-corridors.

  • In this study, I have summarized the geographical location conditions according to geographical position where communities locate and I have classified the spatial composition factors into size factor and the line factor. This was accomplished through field research and comparison and analysis of pertinent literature. Then, I have discussed the geographical location conditions and the characteristics of the spatial composition of a particular community. Finally, I have pointed out that the similarities and dissimilarities of the spatial composition factors of a certain community with locational aspects, geographical aspects, and occupational aspects, can be considered.

The Measurements of Locational Effects in Land Price Prediction with the Spatial Statistical Analysis (공간통계분석을 이용한 지가의 입지값 측정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to quantitatively measure the effect of location in evaluating the land value through the implementation of GIS coupled with spatial statistical analysis. We assumed that the hedonic price model, which was commonly used in modelling the land value, could not explain the spatial factor effectively. In order to add the spatial factor, the analysis of the spatial autocorrelation was used. The present project used 54 standard land price samples from 1421 parcel land values and applied Kriging to predict stochastically the unsampled values on the basis of spatial autocorrelation between location of vector data. This study confirms that the spatial variogram analysis has an advantage of predicting spatial dependence process and revealing the positive premium and the negative penality on location factor objectively.
