The purpose of this study was to examine the spatial composition and characteristics of model houses that have recently opened in Pangyone ara. Site visit and content analysis were adopted in this study. and the studied model houses developed by nine housing were of particular interest. The major findings indicated that convenience and safety through high tech-related features, environmentally friendly features in response to the growing attention of consumers to indoor air quality, aesthetic building facade and its various floor plan, and a wide range of consumers choice for interior finishes and materials. The new trends provides a flexible wall which makes it possible to manipulate the number of rooms according to the family preference.

Today, a standard of living by the development of economy and science-technology is rapidly changing, and the average life span of the people has been lengthened by the improvement of medical services. As a result, the aging population has increased, and the Korea is likely to the aging society in 2020. However, the quality of the residential care facilities for the eldery stands for an elementery stage. Under such circumstance, the purpose of this study is to suggest the design guidelines to improve the quality of housing through the case studies of the spatial composition of the residential care facilities for the elderly people.

In general, performing facilities consist of various functional groupings. The functional groupings should be arranged, in relation to each other, depending on the circulation of users in a space. The performing culture in Korea has been rapidly progressed in recent years. However, compared to the superior examples of foreign performing facilities, it still needs improvements and systematic research. In this study, the functional groupings of general performing facilities as well as the circulation patterns of users will be analyzed. From the results of this study, a circulation system for each spatial composition will be suggested for the performing facilities to be constructed in the future.

A cabin for Mr. and Mrs. Popenoe of 1922 was designed by the eminent Los Angeles architect, Rudolph M. Schindler. It stands out as an early exemplar of Schindler's most notable work in its unique employment of compositional strategy. Unfortunately, the cabin was demolished before an in-depth research was executed. In addition, there remains no documentary record with regard to the construction process, structural details and the use of materials of the built cabin. However, a set of drawings of the house are housed in the Schindler Archive. Reworking drawings and fabricating a scale model based on the materials obtained from the Archive, this article first depicts the evolution of the design, and then, attempts to investigate underlying principles governing the spatial composition of the cabin.

Large-scaled apartment housing complex at outskirts of downtown which has direct influence on urban view concentrated on improving the space outside the complex like spatial composition of individual plan design, but neglected the contribution of urban view. However, as people's orientation toward urban areas was changed to quality from quantity, concerns on urban view have been gradually increased and planning of apartment housing has been extended to complex with view contributing to urban people as a factor composing the city in resident centered spatial composition. This study is therefore to examine the characteristics of view components of 13 apartment housing complexes at Sangmu District in Gwangju Metropolitan City and their influences on evaluating view image.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the spatial composition at the Modern Korean houses after the time of the enlightenment in Daegu province. The orientation of the houses, way of the entrance and its relation to the inner house(An-Chae), the type of floor plan, the compositional methods of exterior space, and the usage of exterior space are investigated. As the results, the Modern Korean houses after the time of the enlightenment in Daegu province are showed the symptom of the modernization in aspect of the site plan and the compositional methods of exterior space.

Recently According to the development of the medical technology and medical machine, People's concern with health promotion has improved. Futhermore, medical consuming pattern has significantly changed, and requires diverse health check-up services. This study represent the standards for the spatial composition and area calculation of the Health Promotion Center according to domestic situations. The present conditions and space programs of 4 general hospital's Health Promotion Centers were investigated and analyzed for this purpose. This study suggest a basic study on the architectural planning of the Health Promotion Center.

The hospice movement evolved as an alternative to hospitals as places to die. Recently, the palliative care for dying and hospice has been developed rapidly and placed itself as one of the medical systems. But the studies on hospice program and establishment method in Korea are few or no in comparison with developed countries. Hospice unit within a general hospital is more efficient hospice type than other terminal care establishments, therefor it will be developed rapidly. With this in mind, this study puts elements of architectural planning on the hospice unit for the space requirements. Also, It is investigated the architectural conditions of hospice unit within a general hospital, analyzed the unit space and spatial composition in hospice unit. The purpose of this study is to propose the fundamental data and unit space for architectural plan and design.

Recently, every hospital requires the creative and novel design which is different from the conventional concept to deal with various circumstances. Accordingly, various space arrangements are proposed against the past uniform hospital type. But the sufficient studies about medical facilities in small and medium city and countryside still lack, otherwise there is short but continuous accumulation of data about the study for general hospitals. In this sense, this study generalizes the present medical condition in Ansan city and analyzes the spatial composition and area distribution in departments for the purpose of presentation of fundamental data about medical policy and architecture in Ansan city.

As the population of olds increases, the number of old people with capability increases, and they actively participate to social works with interests in healthy life and leisures. Therefore the demand rises to expand social facilities to support their spare time, while there are limitation, such as land, financial state, to build such facilities. In case of Japan, a solution of such problem occurs by compounding Social facilities for Old people and local facilities in practical and finacial aspect of the selection of site and managing the facilities and social aspect of supporting oppotunities to use various facilities. Such community based complex facilities supports services depending on the health state of Old people locally residing and increases the communication between different generation. The purpose of this research is aimed to analyze programs and space organization of advanced facilities in Japan and provide basical data for planning complex facilities for old people in Korea.
