In this paper, a new content-based color image retrieval method is proposed, in which both the color content and the spatial relationship of image have been taken into account. In order to represent the spatial distribution information of image, a disorder matrix, which has the invariance to the rotation and translation of the image content, has been designed. This is based on multi-resolution color-spatial information. We present our algorithm in the following section, and then verified the search results with comparison to other methods, such as color histogram, wavelet histogram, correlogram and wavelet correlogram. Experimental results with various types of images show that the proposed method not only achieves a high image retrieval performance but also improve the retrieval precision.

By analyzing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) theory of the conventional true color night vision system, we found that the output image SNR is limited by the wavelength range of the system response λ1 and λ2. Therefore, we built a double-channel four-band true color night vision system to expand the system response to improve the output image SNR. In the meantime, we proposed an image fusion method based on principal component analysis (PCA) and nonsubsampled shearlet transform (NSST) to obtain the true color night vision images. Through experiments, a method based on edge extraction of the targets and spatial dimension decorrelation was proposed to calculate the SNR of the obtained images and we calculated the correlation coefficient (CC) between the edge graphs of obtained and reference images. The results showed that the SNR of the images of four scenes obtained by our system were 125.0%, 145.8%, 86.0% and 51.8% higher, respectively, than that of the conventional tri-band system and CC was also higher, which demonstrated that our system can get true color images with better quality.
With the development of various devices and communication technologies, the production and distribution of various multimedia contents are increasing exponentially. In order to retrieve multimedia data such as images and videos, an approach different from conventional text-based retrieval is needed. Color and shape are key features used in content-based image retrieval, which quantifies and analyzes various physical features of images and compares them to search for similar images. Color and shape have been used as independent features, but the two features are closely related in terms of cognition. In this paper, a method of describing the spatial distribution of color using a complex color model that projects three-dimensional color information onto two-dimensional complex form is proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently represent the shape of spatial distribution of colors by frequency transforming the complex image and reconstructing it with only a few coefficients in the low frequency.
In this paper, we present a content-based image retrieval method that is less sensitive to some rotations and translations of an image by using the fuzzy region segmentation. The algorithm retrieves similar images from a database using the two features of color and color spatial information. To index images, we use the average coordinates of color distribution to obtain the spatial information of each segmented region. Furthermore, we also propose the alternative to the ripple phenomenon, which is occurred in the conventional fuzzy region segmentation algorithm.
In this paper, we present am image retrieval method based on color-spatial features using quadtree and texture information extracted from object MBRs in an image. Tile proposed method consists of creating a DC image from an original image, changing a color coordinate system, and decomposing regions using quadtree. As such, conditions are present to decompose the DC image, then the system extracts representative colors from each region. And, image segmentation is used to search for object MBRs, including object themselves, object included in the background, or certain background region, then the wavelet coefficients are calculated to provide texture information. Experiments were conducted using the proposed similarity method based on color-spatial and texture features. Our method was able to refute the amount of feature vector storage by about 53%, but was similar to the original image as regards precision and recall. Furthermore, to make up for the deficiency in using only color-spatial features, texture information was added and the results showed images that included objects from the query images.

In this paper, a method of color image segmentation based on DBSCAN(Density Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) using compactness of superpixels and texture information is presented. The DBSCAN algorithm can generate clusters in large data sets by looking at the local density of data samples, using only two input parameters which called minimum number of data and distance of neighborhood data. Superpixel algorithms group pixels into perceptually meaningful atomic regions, which can be used to replace the rigid structure of the pixel grid. Each superpixel is consist of pixels with similar features such as luminance, color, textures etc. Superpixels are more efficient than pixels in case of large scale image processing. In this paper, superpixels are generated by SLIC(simple linear iterative clustering) as known popular. Superpixel characteristics are described by compactness, uniformity, boundary precision and recall. The compactness is important features to depict superpixel characteristics. Each superpixel is represented by Lab color spaces, compactness and texture information. DBSCAN clustering method applied to these feature spaces to segment a color image. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, computer simulation is carried out to several outdoor images. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can provide good segmentation results on various images.
GOCI the world first Ocean Color Imager in Geostationary Orbit, which could obtain total 8 images of the same region a day, however, its spatial resolution(500m) is not enough to use for the accurate land application, Super Resolution(SR), reconstructing the high resolution(HR) image from multiple low resolution(LR) images introduced by computer vision field. could be applied to the time-series remotely sensed images such as GOCI data, and the higher resolution image could be reconstructed from multiple images by the SR, and also the cloud masked area of images could be recovered. As the precedent study for developing the efficient SR method for GOCI images, on this research, it reproduced the simulated data under the acquisition process of the remote sensed data, and then the simulated images arc applied to the proposed algorithm. From the proposed algorithm result of the simulated data, it turned out that low resolution(LR) images could be registered in sub-pixel accuracy, and the reconstructed HR image including RMSE, PSNR, SSIM Index value compared with original HR image were 0.5763, 52.9183 db, 0.9486, could be obtained.
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of spatial resolutions on digital image for detecting pine trees damaged by pine wilt disease. Color infrared images taken from PKNU-3 multispectral airborne photographing system with a spatial resolution of 50cm was used as a basic data. Further test images with spatial resolutions of 1m, 2m and 4m were made from the basic data to test the detecting capacity on each spatial resolution. The test was performed with visual interpretation both on mono and stereo modus and compared with field surveying data. It can be conclude that it needs less than 1m spational resolutions or 1m spatial resolutions with stereo pair in order to detect pine trees damaged by pine wilt disease.

Color in an image is determined by illuminant and surface reflectance. So, to recover unique color of object, estimation of exact illuminant is needed. In this study, the illumination models suggested to get the object color constancy with the physical illumination model based on physical phenomena. Their characteristics and application limits are presented and the necessity of an extended illumination model is suggested to get more appropriate object colors recovered. The extended illumination model should contain an additional term for the ambient light in order to account for spatial variance of illumination in object images. Its necessity is verified through an experiment under simple lighting environment in this study. Finally, a reconstruction method for recovering input images under standard white light illumination is experimented and an useful method for computing object color reflectivity is suggested and experimented which can be induced from combination of the existing illumination models.
In this paper, we propose a post-processing technique developed for the subjective improvement of color resolution in DCT-coded color images. The high frequency components caused by complex object parts are compressed and impaired through DCT-based image processing, so color distortions such as blurs in high saturated regions are observed. It's mainly due to the severe loss of color data as Cb and Cr. Generally, the activities of chroma elements in DCT domain correlate strongly with that of luminance as spatial frequency gets higher, and based on the relations between chroma and luma AC activities, we compensate destructed Cb, Cr coefficients using modifications from Y coefficients. Simulation results show that the proposed method enhances color resolution in high saturated region, and improves the visual quality.
