  • This paper suggests constraint data modeling based on constraint data presentation techniques to perform complex spatial database operation naturally. We were able to identify the limitation of extendibility of dimension and non-equal framework via relevant research for former schema of spatial database and query processing. Therefore we described generalized tuple of spatial data and the definition of suggested constraint data modeling. Also we selected MLPQ/PReSTO tool among constraint database prototype and compare standard functionality of ARC/VIEW. Then we design scenario for spatial operation using MLPQ/PReSTO and we suggested application effect after query processing. Based on above explanation, we were able to identify that we can process spatial data naturally and effectively using simple constraint routine on same framework via constraint data modeling.

  • As total system performance depends on spatial dta management in spatial database system, low cost method is required. However, spatial data have many characters that are different from multimedia data, data size is almost similar by layer and variable from few bytes to tera bytes. So large data manager of EXODUS and Starburst and BLOB etc, make problems that is many Disk I/O and Disk space waste. This paper proposes new storage method for spatial data considering spatial dta characteristics.

  • Statistical analyses for spatial data are important features for various types of fields. Spatial data are taken at specific locations or within specific regions and their relative positions are recorded. Lattice data are synoptic observation covering an entire spatial region, like cancer rates corresponding to each county in a state. The main purpose of this paper is to detect hotspots for the region with significantly high or low rates. Kulldorff(1997) detected hotspots based on circular spatial scan statistics. We propose a new method to find any shapes of hotspots by use of echelon analysis with spatial scan statistics.

  • Recently, PDA and cellular phone with color LCD have been widely used in various fields by high efficiency and micro miniaturization technology. According to maturity of these mobile environments, user request about mobile application field is increased. Mobile applications provide various information which is concerned with user's position through cable and wireless transmission. This paper discusses the issues related to the mobile framework for integrated 4S data. The integrated 4S data mean spatial data fusion on GIS, SIIS, ITS, and GNSS. The mobile framework provides not only spatial data but also location services such as reverse geocoding, directory service, etc. It consists of client subsystem, service provider, and data provider.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze spatial patterns of traffic accidents and to investigate spatial relations among neighboring spatial objects by applying GIS and spatial data mining methods. This study investigated traffic accident data in Kangnam-gu, Seoul, as a case study. As a result, four clusters were emerged based on individual attributes of traffic accidents. Each cluster showed distinctive properties. In spatial associations between individual attributes of traffic accidents and neighboring spatial objects, there were many rules according to concept hierarchy and definition of spatial relations. Although all rules were not be interesting and significant, they could be a clue to investigate more.

  • Recent advances in Geographic Information Systems and spatial statistical and analytical methods, along with the availability of spatially referenced health and environmental data, have created unique opportunities to investigate spatial associations between environment exposures and health outcomes at multiple spatial scales and resolutions. However, the increased use of spatial data also faces challenges, one of which is to ensure certainty and accuracy of locational data that meets the needs of a study. This article critically reviews the use of spatially referenced data in epidemiologic studies, focusing on the issue of locational uncertainty generated from the process of geocoding health and environmental data. Primarily, major issues involving the use of spatially referenced data are addressed, including completeness and positional accuracy, potential source of bias and exposure misclassification, and implications for epidemiologic studies. The need for critical assessment and caution in designing and conducting spatial epidemiology studies is briefly discussed.

  • In this study, a GIS spatial analysis method adopted fuzzy concept was introduced and land suitability analysis of waste landfill were conducted through this method. Previous studies conducted site evaluation and land suitability analysis by appling spatial overlay of conventional GIS that based on the boolean logic of crisp set. However these method can not consider the uncertainty of spatial data and the incongruity of data classification criteria, because these method handle spatial data based on the boolean logic of crisp set. As not provided trustable analysis result, conventional GIS spatial overlay method lacks opportunity for expanding use in reality. This study selected waste landfill as facility for analysis and applied fuzzy spatial analysis method as an objective approach. In the concrete contents of study, a series process with regard to the definition procedure of membership function for continuous data and the fuzzy input value generation of spatial data for fuzzy analysis is established. As a result, in this study we proposed a method that derive parameters for deciding the membership function of spatial data by considering the criterion of data classification and factor selection for land suitability analysis of waste landfill.

  • Spatial data is becoming very important as a medium that connects various data produced in smart cities, digital twins, autonomous driving, smart construction, and other applications. In addition, the rapid construction and update of spatial information is becoming a hot topic to satisfy the diverse needs of consumers in this field. This study developed a software prototype that can match the position of an image-based 3D building model produced without Ground Control Points using existing spatial data. As a result of applying this software to the test area, the 3D building model produced based on the image and the existing spatial data show a high positional matching rate, so that it can be widely used in applications requiring the latest 3D spatial data.

  • In this paper we present a spatial big data query processing system that can store spatial data in Hadoop and query the data with SQL-based query language. The system stores large-scale spatial data in HDFS-based storage system, and supports spatial queries expressed in SQL-based query language extended for spatial data processing. It supports standard spatial data types and functions defined in OGC simple feature model in the query language. This paper presents the development of core functions of the system including query language parsing, query validation, query planning, and connection with storage system. We compares the performance of the suggested system with an existing system, and our experiments show that the system shows about 58% performance improvement of query execution time over the existing system when executing region query for spatial data stored in Hadoop.

  • A demand on the spatial data management has been rapidly increased with the introduction and diffusion process of ITS, Telematics, and Wireless Sensor Network. And many different users use the digital map that offers various thematic spatial data. Spatial data for digital map can be managed by tile-based and feature-based data. The existing tile-based digital map management systems have difficult problems such as data construction, history management, and update data based on a spatial object. In order to solve these problems, we proposed the data model for feature-based digital map management system for representation of feature-based seamless map, history management, real-time update of spatial data, and analyzed the validity and utility of the proposed model.
