Assessment of uncertainties of loads and resistances is prerequisite for the development of load and resistance factor design (LRFD). Many previous studies related to resistance factor calculations of piles were conducted for short or medium span bridges (span lengths less than 200m) reflecting the live load uncertainty for ordinary span bridges. In this study, by using a revised live load model and its uncertainty for long span bridges (span lengths longer than 200m and shorter than 1500m), resistance factors are recalibrated. For the estimation of nominal pile capacity (both base and shaft capacities), the Imperial College Pile (ICP) design method is used. For clayey and sandy foundation, uncertainty of resistance is assessed based on the ICP database. As long span bridges are typically considered as more important structures than short or medium span bridges, higher target reliability indices are assigned in the reliability analysis. Finally, resistance factors are calculated and proposed for the use of LRFD of driven piles for ordinary span and long span bridges.

This paper describes the effect of span-to-depth ratio, which describes aspect of cell formed with top diaphragm steel plate, on capacity in composite steel-concrete structure of sandwich system. The span-to-depth ratio \ulcorner load-carrying mechanism and load-distribution capacity of structure. Therefore, stress levels of members and load-resis\ulcorner of system vary according to span-depth ratio. In this study, numerical nonlinear analysis was performed to various ratio for two types(MA, MB) composite structure of sandwich system to analyze the influence of span-to-depth ratio or, behavior. The difference of load-carrying mechanism and stress of members results from analysis results, then bas\ulcorner differences, the effects of span-to-depth ratio on shear capacity, flexural capacity and load-resistance capacity were analyze effects on failure mode and ductility were briefly. As a results of this study, as span-to-depth ratio increases, \ulcorner bottom steel plate and concrete lower. This implies an increase in effective flexural and shear capacity. Therefore lo\ulcorner capacity of structure improves as span-to-depth ratio increases, Especially, the effect is greate in shear than flexural span-to-depth ratio increases, this difference between flexural and shear capacity may change failure mode and ductility. span-to-depth ratio increases capacity increases more than flexural capacity, we should expect that structural behavior mode gradually change from shear to flexural and ductility of structure gradually improves.
General characteristics and life span of silkworm moth were investigated amongst 277 gene resources preserved and maintained in Korea. Silkworm varieties were classified according to the commercial characteristics and the viability of tested varieties. There were significant differences among the eight different commercial characteristics of silkworm such as whole larval period, duration of 5th instar, pupal body weight, single cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, cocoon shell ratio, cocoon yield and longevity, Tropical race showed the longest life span among the other five geographical races, and followed by Japanese, European, Chinese and Korean race in order. In the longevity of each variety, Daizo(sdi) showed the shortest life span with 4.3days, and J037 was the longest as 16.0 days. Average longevity of female was 11.1 days as showed 3.0 days longer than that of male which was 8.2 days. Total average longevity of the whole varieties was 9.7days. In the correlation between the longevity and commercial characteristics, there was a tendency that the commercial characteristics became better when the life span was longer. According to the result of Complete Linkage Cluster Analysis, the genetic resources of 277 silkworm varieties classified into 5 groups such as “Group I”for short life span with low cocoon yielding “Group II”for middle life span with middle cocoon yielding,“Group III”for the shortest life span with low cocoon yielding, “Group IV”for high pupation rate and the highest cocoon yielding with comparatively long life span, and “Group V”for the longest life span with comparatively high cocoon yielding.
Long span cross-rope suspension structure is an innovative structural system evolved from typical Cross-Rope Suspension (CRS) guyed tower, a type of supporting system with short span suspension cable supporting overhead power transmission lines. In mountainous areas, the span length of suspension cable was designed to be extended to hundreds or over one thousand meters, which is applicable for crossing deep valleys. Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) of overhead power transmission lines was considered to be one of the major factors of its fatigue and service life. In this paper, VIV and its controlling by Stockbridge damper for long span CRS was discussed. Firstly, energy balance method and finite element method for assessing VIV of CRS were presented. An approach of establishing FE model of long span CRS structure with dampers was introduced. The effect of Stockbridge damper for overall vibration of CRS was compared in both theoretical and numerical approaches. Results indicated that vibration characteristics of conductor in long span CRS compared with traditional tower-line system. Secondly, analysis on long span CRS including Stockbridge damper showed additional dampers installed were essential for controlling maximum dynamic bending stresses of conductors at both ends. Moreover, factors, including configuration and mass of Stockbridge damper, span length of suspension cable and conductor and number of spans of conductor, were assessed for further discussion on VIV controlling of long span CRS.
The flutter reliability analysis of long span bridges requires use of a software tool that predicts the uncertainty in a flutter response due to uncertainties in the model formulation and input parameters. Existing flutter analysis numerical codes are not capable of dealing with stochastic uncertainty in the analysis of long span bridges. The goal of the present work is to develop a software tool (FREASB) to enable designers to efficiently and accurately conduct flutter reliability analysis of long span bridges. The FREASB interfaces an open-source Matlab toolbox for structural reliability analysis (FERUM) with a typical deterministic flutter analysis code. The paper presents a brief introduction to the generalized first-order reliability method implemented in FREASB and key steps involved in coupling it with a typical deterministic flutter analysis code. A numerical example concerning flutter reliability analysis of a long span suspension bridge with a main span of 1385 m is presented to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the methodology and the software.

In this paper, the contents of numerical in the innovative tender design of the super long-span suspension bridge to be constructed between Myodo and are introduced. The total span length of the bridge, of which the main span is the third in the world so far, reaches 2,260km, and the has the floating type girder which has no vertical points at pylon. Judging from the condition of navigation, wind climate on, and construction cost, it is inevitable to make the central span 1,545m and to the technical level applied to the structural components in the existing suspension system. To realize the innovative super long-span suspension bridge, the close numerical investigations for the structural capacity, aerodynamic serviceability, and dynamic serviceability are carried out by various tools of computational mechanics.
Survival analysis with life span of silkworm moth was investigated from 277 varieties preserved and maintained in Korea. Ten varieties showed long and short life span were selected for the investigation of the longevity in response to mating and surviving. The density distributions of average life span of female and male in all varieties used was 8.3days about 13%. The frequency of average survival according to life span survived 178 varieties(64.3%)for 5-10 days in male, but the female was survived 147 varieties(53%) for 10-15days. Average longevity of unmated female and male were respectively 9.5days and 9.0 days, and female survived 0.5 days longer than male. On the other hand, average longevity of mated female and male were 8.8 days and 7.7 days, respectively. It was found that mating activities affected significantly to the adult life span, especially to that of males than that of females.
This study introduces CR-M-SpanBERT, a coreference resolution (CR) model that utilizes multiple embedding-based span bidirectional encoder representations from transformers, for antecedent recognition in natural language (NL) text. Information extraction studies aimed to extract knowledge from NL text autonomously and cost-effectively. However, the extracted information may not represent knowledge accurately owing to the presence of ambiguous entities. Therefore, we propose a CR model that identifies mentions referring to the same entity in NL text. In the case of CR, it is necessary to understand both the syntax and semantics of the NL text simultaneously. Therefore, multiple embeddings are generated for CR, which can include syntactic and semantic information for each word. We evaluate the effectiveness of CR-M-SpanBERT by comparing it to a model that uses SpanBERT as the language model in CR studies. The results demonstrate that our proposed deep neural network model achieves high-recognition accuracy for extracting antecedents from NL text. Additionally, it requires fewer epochs to achieve an average F1 accuracy greater than 75% compared with the conventional SpanBERT approach.

At this research, we examined probability of light bulb's life span value and prediction on purpose to inquire out the span of repeat velocity as fracture probability by executing the fatigue test, which is considered property of Tungsten filament's thermal fatigue used as an automobile bulb. As a result we can confirm what the most suitable solution is weibull distribution and log normal distribution. Tungsten filament's span gets longer as the fatigue repeat velocity gets shorter And, repeat span is about 15%~40% shorter than sequence life span.
