In the case of an unmanned aerial vehicle using a battery as a power source, there are restrictions in performing the mission because the battery capacity is limited. To extend the mission capability, it is important to minimize battery usage while the flight to the mission area. In addition, by using the battery usage prediction model, the possibility of mission completeness can be determined and it can be a criterion for selecting an emergent landing point in the mission planning stage. In this paper, we propose a battery usage prediction model considering as one of the environmental factors in the three-dimensional space. The required power is calculated according to the flight geometry of an unmanned aerial vehicle. True battery usage which is predicted from the required power is verified through the comparison with the battery usage prediction model. The optimal flight trajectory that minimizes battery usage is produced and compared with the shortest travel distance.
As aging society progresses, it is necessary to establish a housing standard that provides a healthy, safe, and convenient environment for the elderly. The objective of the study is to propose a housing space standard that is geared towards elderly living in the urban area. Three steps were taken to attain the objective. First, characteristics of housing preference, spatial usage and furniture preference of the elderly were attained through a survey. The survey was conducted targeting the respondents of the ages 60 to 79 living in three different administrative districts in Seoul. Second, the required floor space to perform individual specific behavior using anthropometric dimension of the elderly was investigated by literature review. Lastly, floor space of each space is suggested combining each area for individual specific behavior which reflects characteristics of housing preference and spatial usage. The results of the research as follows. A bedroom was planned, which includes the function of receiving guests by giving the area for the placement of a sofa. The space for the use of dinning table for two person was planned in the kitchen and The space for the behavior of showering on a chair was planned in a bathroom. Lastly, the space for the behavior of taking off shoes on a chair was considered in the entrance area. Consequently, $35.4m^2$ is suggested as the necessary floor space for the elderly housing considering the characteristics of the elderly in urban area. However, because of space composition and space for accessibility, the additional space should be considered to plan the elderly housing.
An Apartment Veranda is a transitive space which is being used for many different purpose. A Rear Veranda which is connected to the kitchen is an important space for the housekeeping work and it should be planned carefully to reflect the rational and functional designs. Therefore the objective of this research is to suggest a systematic basis for the practical space planning of the Rear veranda that meets the varied needs of consumers by examining its usage pattern through the analysis of the apartment occupant's behavior pattern stored item the degree of satisfaction and consumer requirements. The research was conducted mainly on apartments built after 1990. The following are the conclusions from the research : 1. Most of the research respondents were aware of the absolute need for the Rear veranda. But they expressed dissatisfaction with the space usage. This indicates that the Rear Veranda planning does not reflect the functionality of the space and concentrates on the idea of providing consumers a service space based on the size of the apartment instead. 2. Although the Rear veranda is used as the multipurpose housework space it is mainly used as the laundry and storage space. This shows a big deviation from the concept of the utility space. Because the behavior pattern associated with the Rear Veranda is largely influenced by the traditional life pattern the development of the Rear Veranda as an exclusive space for the housekeeping work. 3. According to a high frequency of the storage of the laundry related item in the Rear Veranda indicated by the research the Rear veranda is used as the laundry room as well as a auxiliary storage space by most people. The installation of gas range is expected to increase due to the expansion of the usage function of the Rear Veranda space. The installation of a specialized refrigerator to store the traditional food is demanded. 4. Consumers need more efficient and functional storage device because the temporary shelves are often being used as the storage device. The perception of the storage device is assumed to have been influence by the traditional life style.
This study aims to analyze the cases of storage space outside housing unit and propose the activation plan. The issue of storage in residential complex has continued to be reported. This is more salient due to the recent preference trend for small houses, the constant increase of living goods and the limitation of the available space inside housing unit. Although more apartment houses are trying to have individual storage in the exterior space to address these issues, there is still a paucity of the related studies and more studies are required. In this study, we conducted on-site investigation and user interview of each case to propose active usage of the storage space outside housing unit. Result of this study shows that the most crucial factor to improve is 'accessibility' in order to activate the storage space. Storage room should be located close to each household or the individual parking space. The second factor is the size and the structure of the storage room. The sufficient space for keeping and taking large objects out are required. The front of the storage room should have a clogged structure to insure privacy. The third is the provision of suitable support programs such as the system that occupants can check remotely what items are in their storage rooms, garage sale, laundry service, auto cleaning system and rental program. Those programs are required for efficient management and activation of space. Another requirement is to improve environmental factors which include maintenance of optimal temperature and humidity, automatic ventilation system, control of individual lights, and security enhancement. Based on the results of the survey, we provide basic data which can be used for practical space planning to activate exterior storage space of the housing unit. Further surveys are required to develop this study by obtaining more data for generalization.
Today, VR, AR, and MR technologies that travel between real world and virtual world are rapidly developing. These technologies are adopted in luxury fashion brands for virtual fashion shows and runways, virtual retail shops and virtual fitting services. Despite its growth potential and social importance, virtual fashion space has been studies insufficiently. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the consumer experience on the virtual fashion space types, components of virtual fashion space, perceived value, and continuous usage intention. Prada, one of the most active luxury fashion brands in the VR field, was selected as the stimulus for an in-depth interview. Participants experienced virtual fashion show space through VR device (Oculus Quest 2 from Meta) before responding to the questions about their experience. Results showed that material space was more like virtual whereas perceptual space felt like reality. Participants could imagine about more virtual image from material space and more real image from perceptual space elements. Moreover, perceptual space enhanced the immersion, presence, and interactivity compared to material space. Most participants perceived that the virtual fashion show was useful and playful, leading to the continuous usage intention. It implies that improvements for some technical limitation from VR device and virtual contents can provide quality consumer experience in the future. Based on results of this study, fashion companies can establish useful marketing strategies for consumers' immersive and playful experiences when introducing virtual fashion space.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the usage characteristics and the role of spatial and social psychology of open spaces in urban neighborhoods. The survey for this study was conducted on 318 residents in Gyungsan. For analysis, the frequencies and means were calculated, the chi-square test, t-test, and analysis of variance were performed. Survey results revealed that, first, not only the preferred open space type but also the usage characteristics by gender were different. The tendency for males was to visit open spaces to exercise and to stay for longer than one hour. However, the females visited open spaces to care for their children and meet friends or neighbors. They also visited more often than males but stayed for a shorter time. Second, females tended to consider the open space as a place for rest and leisure. Females valued the social psychology aspects of the open space function. Third, regarding the spacial role of open space in urban neighborhoods, study participants believed that the waterside parks improve the quality of life, but were concerned for the safety of children. Considering the social psychology role of open spaces, study participants regarded the waterside parks as improving emotional health. Particularly, they believed the waterside parks played a greater role in daily life as a place for meeting, resting, and leisure than other open space types such as playground, children's parks, and sport parks.
This study is about the improvement of housing environment through the research and analysis on how district-level roads are used and what the residents want about housing environment. The results are as follows: 1. As a result of the research on space usage, we could get the conclusion that street furniture occupies much space in the district-level roads, and the main causes of the space usage problems are from cars. 2. Because much space is used for parking, the district-level roads supposed to be the place for the pleasant and safe housing is changing into the main cause of the housing problems. Therefore we should find how to prevent the housing environment from being deteriorated through pridicting the traffic generation of future residential area. 3. Most residents park their cars near their houses in the district-level roads. In order to solve this problem, we have to secure the parking space and guarantee the safe traffic by designing the road space efficiently in spite of the inconvenience.

The objective of this study was to analyze the space usage and user evaluation of community facility in Apartment. This study was conducted case study and questionnaire survey. Four High rise Mixed-use Apartments in and near seoul built in 2000 and later were chosen for case study and 166 residents were collected for questionnaire survey. The frequency, percentage, mean, One-way ANOVA and Duncan tests were executed through SPSS for Win 12.0 statistics package program. The types of community facilities of High rise Mixed-use Apartments were consisted of sports, child care, study, information sharing, leisure/cultural facilities. Most of the community facilities showed to be similar regardless the subject of High rise Mixed-use Apartments. The usage percentage of community facilities increased since the residents have moved to their current residence of High rise Mixed-use Apartments from their previous residence. The most satisfied facility was sports facilities. The satisfaction of community facilities showed high in general. The satisfaction of community facilities was significant with age and the size of apartment.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the dweller's housing needs through the connection between dwellers' living pattern and space usage. The objectives were (1) to examine how to eat and cook in the eating and cooking spaces, (2) to examine how to alter the original housing, (3) to research the dwellers' housing needs for the eating and cooking spaces, and the changing process of dwellers' housing needs, and (4) to classify the type of eating and cooking spcaces. The results of this study were (1) there were changed in eating pattern of space usage according to the season. The eating activities were a Korean living pattern : sitting on the floor and eating at the BAB SANG. (2) There was a difference in the pattern of space usage and the activity for main cooking and KIM CHI. (3) AN BANG (eating space for winter) as well as MARU (eating space for summer) has changed to a larger space. (4) By the changing of living patterns, BU AUK (a main cooking space ) has showed a various alternations: function, dimension of space, facilities, floor materials and floor level. (5) The dwellers' housing needs for eating space were a multipurpose room, and a dining kitchen of western living pattern (using a dining table and chairs) with the present changing life styles. (6) The dwellers' housing needs for cooking space were a multipurpose room of working area, a seperation of heating area, a western living pattern, a plan of flat fllor level and a dining kitchen. (7) BU AUK of eating and cooking spaces was classified into 4 types: a traditional type, a mixing type, a modernized type, and a western type.
This study is to comprehend the interior space of the Royal Palace in the 15th Century, the early years of Joseon Dynasty. The subject of this study is limited to the center of the Royal Palace, that is Jeongjeon(正殿, the royal audience chamber) and Haengrang(行廊, which encloses Jeongjeon on four sides and has many rooms). It is very important to understand the usage of the interior space because the architectural space consists of the space unified by the organic function of the interior and the exterior space. But there are few studies on the interior space of Jeongjeon and Haengrang at the Royal Palace. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the interior space of those buildings. The result of this study is following. Haengrang has several uses such as a night duty room, a storehouse, a government office or a banquet hall etc. So the interior spaces were finished with various methods that were suitable for the use of each room, and the material of the floor were the ground, Maru(the wooden floor) or Ondol(the Korean traditional heating system) There were held many kinds of ceremonies in Jeongjeon, and the government officials could not enter the inside of that building and took part in the ceremony on the front court of Jeongjeon, except the men performing the ceremony. But the high ranking officials could enter the inside when King gave a banquet and there, they prostrated themselves before King. They sat down with their legs crossed on the ground floor instead of sitting on a chair. When King held tea ceremony with Chinese envoys in Jeongjeon, they sat on Gyoui(交倚, a kind of armchair). Then, the government officials performing the ceremony in Jeongjeon prostrated himself around the King and the Chinese envoys and others stood around them.
