A Study on Optimized Mapping Environment for Real-time Spatial Mapping of HoloLens

  • Recently, the development of the head mounted display (HMD) device has attracted a great deal of attention to the actual contents. Especially, Augmented Reality (AR), which is a mixture of actual information and virtual world information, is focused on. AR HMD is able to interact by arranging virtual objects in real space through spatial recognition using depth camera. In order to naturally mix virtual space with real space, it is necessary to develop a technology for realizing spatial mapping information with high accuracy. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the optimal configuration of augmented reality application program by realizing accurate spatial mapping information when mapping a real space and an object placement environment using HoloLens. To do this, we changed the spatial mapping information in real space to three levels, which are the number of meshes used in cubic meters to scan step by step. After that, it was compared with the 3D model obtained by changing the actual space and mesh number. Experimental result shows that the higher the number of meshes used in cubic meters, the higher the accuracy between real space and spatial mapping. This paper is expected to be applied to augmented reality application programs that require scanning of highly mapped spatial mapping information.

  • This is a written version of the keynote speech delivered at the International Symposium on Hypersonic Aerothermodynamics - Recent Advances held in Bangalore, India, from December $6^{th}$ to $10^{th}$, 2012. In this document, what was accomplished in the past, the present status, and what is expected in the future in the field of hypersonic aerothermodynamics are reviewed. Solved problems are categorized into four items; unsolved problems into twelve items, and emerging problems into four items. Removing one degree uncertainty in trim angle of attack, studying the thermochemical phenomena in a hydrogen-helium-methane mixture, and entry flights of meteoroids are cited as the tasks for the future.

Finite Volume Analysis of a Supersonic Non-Equilibrium Flow Around an Axisymmetric Blunt Body

  • The aim of this work is to analyze high temperature flows around an axisymmetric blunt body taking into account chemical and vibrational non-equilibrium state for air mixture species. For this purpose, a finite volume methodology is employed to determine the supersonic flow parameters around the axisymmetric blunt body. This allows the capture of a shock wave before a blunt body placed in supersonic free stream. The numerical technique uses the flux vector splitting method of Van Leer. Here, adequate time stepping parameters, along with Courant, Friedrich, Lewis coefficient and mesh size level are selected to ensure numerical convergence, sought with an order of $10^{-8}$.

  • We performed a numerical simulation based on the two-dimensional (2-D) unsteady Euler's equation with a single-step Arrhenius reaction model in order to investigate the detonation wave front propagation of an Argon (Ar) diluted oxy-hydrogen mixture ($2H_2+O_2+12Ar$). This simulation operates in the detonation frame of reference. We examine the effect of grid size and the performance impact of integrated quantities such as mass flow. For a given set of baseline conditions, the minimal and maximum grid resolutions required to simulate the respective detonation waves and the detonation cell structures are determined. Tertiary shock wave behavior for various grids and pre-exponential factors are analyzed. We found that particle fluctuation can be weakened by controlling the mass flow going through the oblique shock waves.

  • Mer,trans-Re(≡NC6H5)(PPh3)2Cl3, Ⅰ, reacted with trimethylphosphine to give a mixture of two stereoisomers, mer,trans-Re(≡NC6H5)(PMe3)2Cl3,Ⅱ, and fac,cis-Re(≡NC6H5)(PMe3)2Cl3, Ⅲ. These compounds could also be prepared from the reaction of Re(≡NC6H5)(PMe3)(PPh3)Cl3 with trimethylphosphine. In both reactions the mer,trans-isomer is a major product. The products have been characterized by NMR, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystallography. Crystal data for Ⅱ: monoclinic space group P21, a=10.053(1) Å, b=10.844(1) Å, c=10.058(2) Å, β=113.45(2)°, Z=2, R(wR2)=0.0348 (0.0894). Crystal data for Ⅲ: monoclinic space group P21/n, a=7.183(2) Å, b=16.983(4) Å, c=15.543(4) Å, β=90.38(2)°, Z=4, R(wR2)=0.0603 (0.1484).

  • A survey is offered of the present status of microaluminized propellants industrially used worldwide in most space applications, but new directions are also pointed out making profitable use of the nanoaluminized propellants currently tested in many laboratories. Different industrial- and research-type of solid rocket propellants, mainly but not only, of the well-known family oxidizer/Al/HTPB(oxidizer being AP, AN or a mixture of the two) were experimentally analyzed at the Space Propulsion Laboratory of Politecnico di Milano. In general, they feature the same nominal composition but implement different grain size distributions of the oxidizer or metal fuel. The basic properties of all formulations were compared to that of a standard propellant already certified for flight.

주거공간 실내구성요소에 나타난 서양 고전양식의 적용경향 (The Application Tendency of Western Classic Style Appeared to Residencial Space Interior Composition Elements)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 서양에서 오랜 역사를 통해 발달해 온 시대별 고전 양식이 현재 한국의 주거공간에 어떻게 적용되고 있는지의 경향을 파악해 보고자 하는 것으로 최근 5년 간 발행되었던 6개 종류의 관련 전문잡지를 조사하여 사양 고전양식으로 시공되거나 코디네이션된 주거공간 99사례의 사진을 조사하고 공간유형별, 실내구성요소별로 분석하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 한국의 현대 주거공간에 나타난 서양고전양식의 공간별 적용경향을 보면 아파트와 단독주택에서 많이 적용되고 있었고, 실별로는 거실, 부부침실, 식당 순이었으며 거실에서는 차분하고 안정감을 주는 직선의 신고전 양식이, 침실에서는 부드러운 곡선의 로코코 양식이, 식당에서는 식탁과 의자등 가구에 로코코 양식이 쓰이고 있었다. 한편, 단일적용으로는 로코코 양식과 신고전 양식이 비슷하게 많이 나타났고 혼합적용 또한 로코코 양식과 신고전 양식이 혼합된 경우가 가장 많이 나타났다. 2. 한국 현대 주거공간에 나타난 서양고전양식의 실내구성요소별 적용경향은 신고전 양식의 벽, 르네상스 양식의 천장, 신고전 양식의 천장, 신고전 양식의 창과 문, 로코코 양식의 가구, 로코코 양식과 신고전 양식의 장식이 많이 적용됨으로써 로코코양식과 신고전 양식이 우세하였다. 이들은 원형보다는 변형으로 적용된 경우가 압도적으로 우세하였다.

유비쿼터스 실현을 위한 사이버공간상의 3차원 그래픽 공간 구축론에 대한 비판적 고찰 (Critical Review on the Arguments for Building Three-dimensional Cyberspace to Realize Ubiquitous)

  • 유비쿼터스 구현에 대한 다양한 연구와 시도들이 진행되고 있다. 현실공간에 익숙한 일부 공간계획가들과 GIS 전문가들은 유비쿼터스의 구현을 위해서는 사이버공간에 3차원 그래픽 공간을 구현하여야 한다고 주장하고 있다. 이러한 주장의 근간에는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 현실공간과 사이버공간이 어떤 식으로 든 결합 혹은 융합될 것이라는 가정을 가지고 있다. 따라서 이러한 주장을 하기 위해서는 사이버공간에 대한 정확한 이해가 필수적이다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로, 본 연구는 다양한 문헌연구를 검토하여 사이버공간 내 3차원 그래픽 공간 구축 논의에 대한 비판적인 고찰을 시도하였다. 본 연구의 발견은 다음과 같다. 첫째 사이버공간내 3차원 그래픽 공간 구현을 위한 기존의 주장들을 확인하고, 그에 내재된 문제점들을 규정하였다. 두 번째, 유비쿼터스 구현을 위한 다양한 노력들을 살펴보고, 이들 중 새로운 공간으로서 유비쿼터스에 접근하는 논리에 대한 재고찰이 필요함을 확인하였다. 마지막으로, 사이버공간의 자기조직화경향과 비선형적 인간행태에 대하여 살펴봄으로써, 3차원 그래픽 환경이 가져온 단선적 공간에 대한 한계를 명확히 하였다.

실내공간에 있어서 식물 이용 방법과 선호도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Method of Using Plants and Preference Analysis for Interior Space)

  • This study intens to provide available guideline of useful plants in interior and be used by designer. It focuses on evaluating the character of plants, the method of installation and the form of composition for suitable design of using plants. The study finds out that using plants in interior are necessary positively by 94% respondents. And results of factor analysis are that plants are needed for emothional stability(factor 1), visual charming(factor 2), and educational effection(factor 3). According to job, the group of students is visual charming (P=0.0037), the public servants and housewives is educational effection(p=0.0029). The most available space of plants as follows : Department(30.5%), Hotell(26.3%), House and Restuarant(12.7%). It has been identified that the public institution and commercial space are much indused plants. The most indused plants in house is ordered that the veranda, the living room, the entrance. This result is concerned about relation of natural light plants. The repondants reply that the favorite arrangement style is the corner form(63%), the center garden form(52.1%), the large planter(19.7%), the planter box(11.3%). They respond that they are more favorite light green color than dark, and mono color than mixture color. Finally, interior Designers should be understood the functional and aesthetic elements and the special interest about plants for developing desigv.

리처드 마이어 건축에 표현된 바로크적 특성 연구 (A Study on the Baroque Characteristics Expressed in Architecture by Richard Meier)

  • Baroque is fundamentally in contrast with renaissance style classicism, which attempted to fix a world view itself as the value of perpetuity. Furthermore, it is interpreted as a topic of incompletion or transformation that is not defined or is not exemplary and which may be enjoyed by people in the classical life, which requires a microscopic concept in contrast with dualism, the central axis of western civilization, namely, rational lucidity. Also, such characteristics are estimated to serve as a lubricant in life while going beyond the formal aesthetic level of art even from a contemporary perspective, and to play a productive role and to have potential. Consequently, this paper assumed that the concepts expressed by the 20th century US contemporary architect Richard Meier of a complex space, namely architectural formative vocabularies such as overlapping, interpenetration, collision, and collage style mixture created by a layered structure, in his architecture are in common with the double surface technique and juxtaposition of a flat structure of Baroque architecture. Then, the paper analyzed and considered the characteristics. The paper considered the following two issues: Such Baroque style formal principle is reinterpreted against a backdrop in which his architectural flow based on the domino theory of Le Corbusier became established as his own unique architectural feature, and it may be proposed as one big flow that enables us to seek again modernistic architecture that attempts to make an architectural space absolute as an atypical formal contour.
