Environmental matters are one of key issues of today's world. At this point, advanced countries are proposing and planning various kinds of policies for sustainable communities. Space designers in those countries are more concerned with regeneration or slow development than development and innovation. As the new government of Korea was started in 2008, it announced 'design Korea project' as key agenda for national competitiveness. But it seems that they are focusing on development of new town than the concept of preservation or regeneration on which most advanced countries put their bases. In these regards, this research starts with the idea that environmental factor in space design is very important and it is directly connected with human survival. With this idea, the researching team created experimental space titled 'regeneration' as one of eco-friendly education program. The team aimed at building up or 'designing one man space-one to one ratio' in deserted place with recycled stuffs. With the idea of 'regeneration' in space, the researcher aims at awakening the sense of environment and putting it into practice in daily living.

Safety of workers and productivity in construction site are affected according to the conflict status of work spaces which are performed at a time. The interference among the work spaces in construction site should be minimized because it becomes a blocking factor that causes construction delay and low productivity. Those factors can be managed by reasonable H&S (Health & Safety) practice. This research suggests the requirements of H&S practice and rules to establish the strategy of H&S management based on the literature reviews related to H&S rule. The suggested H&S rule can be visualized for searching space conflict point if the rule is linked with visual simulation tool. Accordingly the research results can be used for improving and visualizing construction productivity by work space control in 4D/nD CAD system.

The article deals with problems of innovation development on a network basis, which require effective mechanisms of innovation communications. In research the organizational aspects of ICT infrastructure development for innovation networks sustainable development based on cooperative marketing principles is considered. The proposed research idea is based on the idea that ICT implementation is based not only on the operational approach for innovation management as a factor of efficiency of internal communications, but also on knowledge economy and post-industrial economy trends. Therefore, the purpose of study is to develop an ICT model of innovation infrastructure to improve its effectiveness (strategic character) and efficiency (operative character) through increasing the efficiency of network communication interactions. Creation of information space and communication tools to support innovation network sustainable development and cooperation activities in research is proposed to be solved with the help of specialized ICT platform. It is shown, that ICT platform of innovation cooperation innovation network is important tool for common work of participants. ICT platform is considered as an integrated information system designed to automate business processes related to the sustainable development of innovation network, segment management and integration with HEI information systems and industrial cooperation. The main factors that determine the need to use a special ICT platform for innovation network cooperation were considered. The main issues of concurrent engineering (C-technology) application in high-technology industries and innovation cooperation for integrated product development were studied.

The need for communication is emphasized in decision making, design methods and processes for the educational environment that contain new curricula and learning methods. In this study, we tried to find the direction and agenda of learner-centered environment restructuring through the 'user-integrated platform' in which various subjects related to school space environment understand each other's position and overcome the barriers and prejudices of each sector. The project was planned in a 'bottom-up process' method that uncovered the singularities of the previous stage and led the main contents of the next stage. The various subjects who participated in the project shared their own experiences and different positions regarding the school space. At the workshop, the topics of the participating teams were divided into two categories. The teams in the category of the 'school culture and space' insisted innovation of 'the school culture' as a premise for the restructuring of the 'school space', and proposed schools with different interpretations of 'authority and rules of school', 'the meaning of learning and play' and 'the main character of school. The teams in the category of the 'school borders and spaces' focused on 'communication' and proposed schools containing 'emotional care of students', 'borders between schools and villages', 'village community schools', and 'interspace and niche time'. After the workshop, we were able to derive the direction and architectural strategy of the school space restructuring by analyzing the works of the participants. Through this study, we confirmed the possibility of translating user's ideas into the professional domain through careful planning, preparation, facilitation, and analysis in Participatory Design.

This study places a great emphasis on the approaches to the space environment we inhabit, which I hope will contribute to generating a number of creative possibilities. Looking into 'site-specificity' which is characteristic by public art in public space method based on Daniel Buren's works 'in situ', this study analyze the relationship between the public space and works of art as a perspective of public art. The characteristics of his 'in situ' works that intervened works exist as space consisting of serial factors not simply art-object, and they suggest 'site Is a work'. The case study of Daniel Buren's public art project represented the results, the site marketing and serves as a guideline for the future of true Art/Space experiments. This study verifies the need for the arts and the space to work together in order to develop more creative and conceptual approaches to innovation and presentation. This cooperation is the continuation of space design by other means.

This study presents a model for educational planning based on user participatory design for the purposes of curriculum development and educational space innovation. It reviewed previous research and practices related to educational space innovation, educational planning processes, and user participation design and suggested a draft model. This model was applied in the renovation project of an elementary school, and the problems encountered during the application were reflected upon and used to improve the model. The final model comprises four phases. Phase 1 is an initial exploratory phase foruser participation, where educational planners and users form a shared perspective regarding the future of education. Phase 2 is a needs-analysis phase for the transition to future education, which focuses on setting the overall direction of the school-level curriculum. Phase 3 specifies the direction of future school curricula and identifies needs for educational spaces. Finally, Phase 4 focuses on the interaction between educational and space planners. Based on the above discussion, the study discussed the benefits and limitations of this educational planning model for school space innovation.

Information Technology is the kernel technology deciding the industrial standard of one nation, and biotechnology will be the main technology of next generation. Based on this fact, a lot of efforts were made to industrialize them. Nano Technology is beginning to position itself as the kernel fusion technology, and its usage and popularity is expanding. Environmental and Energy Technology is a must-have strategic technology considering the increase demand of new energy development, the international environment correspondence, the environment-friendly production, and so forth. Space Technology is the field, which will contribute to raise the domestic component and system technology to the next level. In 2001, new technology research development costs total of 1 trillion 32 billion won in the following fields; 437.82 billion won in IT, 88.457 billion won in BT, 46.799 billion won in NT, 315.682 billion won in ET, and 112 billion won in ST. from component ratio, IT forms 42% which is the most, 31% for ET and in order of BT, ST and NT. ETRI and KISTI are concentrating on IT, KIBB is on BT, KAERI, KIER, KERI and KBSI are focusing on ET, and KIMM, KRISS, KRICT and KORDI is participating together in 4∼5 new technology such as IT, BT, NT and ET. Funds for research development costs in 5 new technology fields of 13 contribution (year) are consisted as follows; The Office for Government Policy Coordination has contributed 131 billion won (13%), 387 billion won (37%) by MOST, 256 billion won (25%) by Ministry of Information and Communication, 67 billion won (6%) by Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, 19% by others and the industrial world. < Strategy for Technology Advancing > o Promotion of comprehensive contributing (year) new technology development research plan project o Increase research efficiency by promoting new technology development project connected with peculiar projects of organization by contribution (year) o Formation of superior research group by technology and introduction of operation system for research accumulation are needed. o Technology demand-oriented assignment deduction and promotion of research development project connected with intermediate long term objective o National will and investment extension of research development costs, training and popularization of professionals, commercialization promotion with efficient control for research plan and result.

As the measures for solving problems of modern city and farming & fishing villages through mutual cooperation and complementation, this study aims to present an integrated rural area development model by changing the farming & fishing villages from a food production-focused space to a service space for the whole nation including urban residents, into the direction of creating new vitality and jobs in farming & fishing villages. In order to establish a service space that could increase the life quality and happiness of the people, this study presented the K-FARM framework types that would integrate and arrange total four themes such as rental farm, experience farm, stay farm, and management farm. In case when this K-FARM framework is applied to rural areas adjacent to cities, especially farming & fishing villages around innovative cities, there would be great effects such as expansion of exchanges between public institutions and local residents of innovative cities. Especially, the theme model classified into four types could be applied suitable for the characteristics of farming & fishing village development project district that is currently operated. Meanwhile, to realize the construction of K-FARM framework, on top of demand analysis of rental farm, it would be also necessary to additionally analyze the urban residents' demand for experience farm and management farm.

As environmental concerns grow, people are becoming more aware of energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainable development. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is currently the most widely recognized building environment assessment method connected to energy and the environment worldwide. This study explores trends for six factors (energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, sustainable sites, water efficiency, and innovation in design) to assess four levels of LEED certification (Platinum, gold, silver, and certified) using 11,209 LEED projects in the United States. The study analyzes trends using scores of percentages of maximum points by certification level, ownership type, space type, and climate zones. With the interest in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principle on the rise, this study contributes to a better understanding of the trends and future of LEED certification in the built environment sector.

Hamburg is going with the HafenCity Project to create a new urban space for the city's bustling central district. HafenCity will add an additional 155 hectares to Hamburg's central urban area, increasing it's total area by some 40 percent. The qualities of the HafenCity are mainly marked through the location at the water, the river Elbe and the historically embossed milieu the Speicherstadt. A tightly mix of residential accommodation, offices, cultural and leisure amenities, retail facilities and restaurants manages diverse identities of quarters in a framework of an elaborate urban layout. This study is focusing on the purpose of the project goals, the task of the Hamburg authorities and GHS (Gesellschaft fur Hafen und Standortentwicklung) and an urban planning ideas competition (draft masterplan). Regarding of the new trend of the reurbanisation in Europe, the aim of this study is to find out, in which way HafenCity is trying to develope the new city district as a model for the European port city of the 21st century.
