A Near Minimum-Time Trajectory Planning for Two Robots Using Dynamic Programming Technique (다이나믹 프로그래밍에 의한 두 대의 로보트를 위한 최소시간 경로계획)

  • A numerical trajectory planning method for path-constrained trajectory planning is proposed which ensures collision-free and time-optimal motions for two robotic manipulators with limited actuator torques and velocities. For each robot, physical constraints of the robots such as limited torques or limited rotational velocities of the actuators are converted to the constraints on velocity and acceleration along the path, which is described by a scalar variable denoting the traveled distance from starting point. Collision region is determined on the coordination space according to the kinematic structures and the geometry of the paths of the robots. An Extended Coordination Space is then constructed` an element of the space determines the postures and the velocities of the robots, and all the constraints described before are transformed to some constraints on the behaviour of the coordination-velocity curves in the space. A dynamic programming technique is them provided with on the discretized Extended Coordination Space to derive a collision-free and time-optimal trajectory pair. Numerical example is included.

On the Relationship Between the Performance Criteria of Unitary Space-Time Codes with Noncoherent and Coherent Decoding

  • Hochwald et al. introduced unitary space-time codes for quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels which allows for noncoherent decoding when the channel response is not known at the receiver. However, when reliable information on the channel response is available, coherent decoding is preferable for improved performance. Here, we study the relationship between the performance criteria on the diversity and coding advantages provided by unitary space-time codes with noncoherent and coherent decoding. We show that when a unitary space-time code achieves full spatial diversity with noncoherent decoding, full spatial diversity is also guaranteed with coherent decoding.

  • A quantum key distribution (QKD) provides in principle an unconditional secure communication unlike the standard public key cryptography depending on the computational complexity. In particular, free-space QKD can give a secure solution even without a fiber-based infrastructure. In this paper, we investigate an overview of recent research trends in the free-space QKD system, including satellite and handheld moving platforms. In addition, we show the key components for a free-space QKD system such as the integrated components, single photon detectors, and quantum random number generator. We discuss the technical challenges and progress toward a future free- space QKD system and components.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of transmitter and receiver of W-CDMA system using the channel coding and space time code in downlink over ITU-R realistic channel model. We can improve the data rate and the reliability of communications by a channel code, and we can get a diversity gain by using the space time code over fading channels. We also apply the RAKE receiver to improve a performance in multi-path fading channel environment.

  • Space-time code is a good solution to get transmit diversity. During the last years a number of space-time block codes have been proposed for use in multiple transmit antenna systems. This code, however, was presented only for the special case of the certain numbers of transmit antennas and the certain modulation schemes. and designed under the assumption that the transmitter has no knowledge about the channel. In this work, on the other hand, we consider the case when the transmitter has partial, but not perfect knowledge about the channel. This system can have full diversity for arbitrary number of the transmit antennas with a little bits of feedback.

  • In the integration of Sommerfeld type for space domain Green's function, a accurate closed-from Green's function method provides more exact solution than the typical complex image method and two-level method.   • In this paper, we present the scenario designs of the possibility of space communications for Korean Lunar Explorer and the analysis of its performance, depending upon the explorer's position within the moon's orbit after being launched from earth. As per each scenario, we would like to propose the analysis of the possible communication times and total transmission throughput data per day in two cases: one for using DSN and another for using only Korean's ground station.

  • This paper proposes an LCL-filter design for space vector pulse width modulation (SVM) in grid-connected three-phase inverter systems. Although there are a several studies in progress, the existing methods are erroneous because they do not focus on the other switching methods. This paper presents the design methodology for an LCL-filter that is optimized for SVM switching operations. The design procedure for the LCL-filter is presented step-by-step. The inverter-side inductor was determined by an analysis of the ripple components, mathematically. Based on the reactive power absorption ratio, the filter capacitor was determined. The grid-side inductor was determined by the ripple attenuation factor of the output current. Experimental results verify the validity of the design method for the LCL-filter.

  • Upper stage telemetry system of KSLV- I (Korea Space Launch Vehicle I) is composed of MDU (Master Data Unit), RDU (Remote Data Unit), SRU (Shock Recorder Unit) and Transmitter. RDU is the front-end telemetry data acquisition unit which gathers analog/discrete signals from various sensors and other units, and transmits the processed data to MDU via MIL-STD-I553B data bus. In order to acquire useful data from analog signal, signal conditioning circuits, such as anti-aliasing or amplifying, should be implemented. For this purpose, SCM (Signal Conditioning Module) had been developed. This paper describes hardware structure of SCM and analog signal conditioning circuits for various sensors. Also, sampling time scheme for different sampling rates were designed and tested.

  • In this work, we first present our study on the decoding schemes for space-time block code as well as our comments on their complexity. Then, we propose a new modified complex sphere decoding scheme, which has lower computational load than that of conventional complex sphere decoders. In the proposed scheme, the boundary for searching is aided with the intersection of approximate polygon of searching circle and disk of constellation. Therefore, the proposed scheme can reduce the searching boundary while can avoid missing searching points. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation that consolidates our scheme.
