터보프롭 항공기의 스핀/실속 회복장치 설계 (Design for Spin/Stall Recovery Parachute System of Turbo-prop Airplane)

  • 본 논문은 KC-100 소형민항기의 스핀시험을 위해 장착될 스핀회복장치의 설계 및 지상활주 전개 시험에 대해 기술하였다. 스핀회복장치에 대한 상세 설계 단계에서 공력, 구조, 안정성, 조종성 등에 대한 해석적 결과를 토대로 낙하산 단위면적당 라이저 길이, 낙하산 다공성, 낙하산 펼침 시간, 및 전개방법 등의 설계 변수를 결정했다. 본 시스템의 검증을 위해 항공기에 스핀회복장치를 장착한 상태에서 기능점검 후 KC-100 고속활주 중 스핀슈트 전개를 수행했다.

  • 광해방지 기술개발사업은 한국의 광산지역 특성에 최적화된 조사 및 설계, 충전효율화를 위한 설계 및 시공, 자동화 계측 및 모니터링을 위한 현장실증을 토대로 기술상용화 기반의 연구를 추진하여 왔다. 1, 2단계 광해방지 기술개발 로드맵('07~'16)에서는 지반침하 안정성 평가방법, 충전재 및 충전기술 개발, 계측장비 개발의 성과목표를 달성하였다. 향후에는 지반침하 위험지역에 대한 체계적인 관리를 위하여 4차 산업혁명 시대에 걸맞은 지반침하방지 신기술 발굴 및 도입을 통해 기술력을 향상시키고 이와 병행한 사업추진 기술인프라를 강화시켜 나가고자 한다.

분해 모델을 이용한 자동차 차체의 틈새 탐색 시스템 개발 (Development of Gap Searching System for Car Body Assembly by Decomposition Model Representation)

  • Large number of part design for aircraft and automobile is preceded by functional or sectional design groups for efficiency. However, interferences and gaps can be found when the parts and sub-assemblies by those design groups are to be assembled. These interferences and gaps cause design changes and additional repair processes. While interference problem has been resolved by digital mockup and concurrent engineering methodology, gap problem has been covered by temporary treatment of filling gap with sealant. This kind of fast fix causes fatal problem of leakage when the gap is too big for filling or the treatment gets old. With this research, we have developed a program to find the gap automatically among parts of assembly so that users can find them to correct their design before manufacturing stage. By using decomposition model representation method, the developed program can search the gap among complex car body parts to be visualized with volumetric information. It can also define the boundary between the gap and exterior empty space automatically. Though we have proved the efficiency of the developed program by applying to automobile assembly, application of the program is not limited to car body only, but also can be extended to aircraft and ship design of large number of parts.

발사체용 추진제 탱크 벤트릴리프 밸브 기술 동향 (Technology Trend of Propellant Tank Vent Relief Valve for Launch Vehicle)

  • 벤트릴리프 밸브는 추진제 탱크의 충전 중 내부의 기체를 배출시키고 충전이 완료된 후에는 탱크의 과압을 해소하는 안전밸브의 역할을 수행한다. 신뢰성과 비용 절감 차원에서 모든 미국의 극저온 액체 추진제를 사용하는 발사체에서는 거의 유사한 벤트릴리프 밸브를 적용해오고 있다. 그리고 발사체의 다양한 임무요구조건을 만족하기 위하여 밸브를 다소 수정하여 사용해오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 발사체 추진제 공급 시스템에 적용되는 벤트릴리프 밸브의 설계 및 제작과 관련한 핵심 기술 동향을 살펴본다. 그리고 우주개발 선진국 발사체에 사용된 벤트릴리프밸브의 운용기술을 소개한다.

불도제의 신화를 이용한 유아용 텍스타일 디자인 (Textile Design for Baby using the myth of Buldoje)

  • This research aims to develop textile patterns using mythical motives based on Buldoje in the Jeju myth. this textile design is not only decoration effect by filling the space, but also plays the original role of a pattern by expressing its symbolic meaning. The research methods are as follows: 1) Using integral analysis on materials related to the myth of Jeju and Gime used in Buldoje Gut, where Halmangbonpuli story is performed to set formative elements for textile design and their meanings; 2) Designing motive by composing formative elements; 3) Coloring properly; and 4) Layout motives. Adobe CS5 (Photoshop, Illustrator) and TexPro, a design CAD program, were used for textile design. Motives were combined in a various ways. Two-directional, four-directional, set, rotating, toss layout techniques, which are frequently used in apparel design and able to reduce cloth use, were used in developing patterns. Coloring methods including tone-in-tone and Faux camaieu were used to deliver coherence and soft effects. Developed textile design symbolizes the desire for the conception of a child, birth, and health, so it is made on baby clothes. In doing so, the plan for development of a fashion-cultural product applying Jeju myth symbol is suggested.

사출성형 설계에서 캐비티 충전 균형을 위한 수지 주입구의 최적 위치 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determining Optimal Gate Positions for Cavity Fill-Uniformity in Injection Molding Design)

  • This study shows an optimization procedure for an automatic determination on the gate position to ensure the fill-uniformity within a part cavity by using the injection molding simulation. For an optimization, the maximum pressure-difference within a part cavity induced at the stage of filling is used to evaluate degree of fill-uniformity. In addition, a direct search scheme based on the reduction of design space is developed and applied in the optimization problem. This corresponding proposed methodology was applied in the optimization on the gate location for a CD-tray molding, as a result, showed the improvement of the fill-uniformity within the cavity.

  • An efficient sequential optimization approach for metamodel was presented by Choi et al [6]. This paper describes a new approach of the multilevel optimization method studied in Refs. [5] and [21-25]. The basic idea is concerned with multilevel iterative methods which combine a descent scheme with a hierarchy of auxiliary problems in lower dimensional subspaces. After fitting a metamodel based on an initial space filling design, this model is sequentially refined by the expected improvement criterion. The advantages of the method are that it does not require optimum sensitivities, nonlinear equality constraints are not needed, and the method is relatively easy to understand and use. As a check on effectiveness, the proposed method is applied to a classical cantilever beam.

크리깅을 이용한 자동차 흡기계의 소음 저감에 대한 최적 설계 (The Optimal Design for Noise Reduction of the Intake System in Automobile Using Kriging Model)

  • Recently, the regulations of the government and the concerns of people have rise to the interest in noise pollution levels as compared to other vehicles. In this area, many researchers have studied to reduce this noise in the field of automotive engineering. This paper proposes an optimal design scheme to reduce the noise of the intake system by adapting Kriging with two meta-heuristic techniques. For this, as a measuring tool for the performance of the intake system, the performance prediction software, was used. Then, the length and radius of each component of the current intake system are selected as input variables and the orthogonal arrays is adapted as a space-filling design. With these simulated data, we can estimate a correlation parameter in Kriging by solving the nonlinear problem with a genetic algorithm and find an optimal level for the intake system by optimizing Kriging estimated with simulated annealing. We notice that this optimal design scheme gives noticeable results and is a preferable way to analyze the intake system. Therefore, an optimal design for the intake system is proposed by reducing the noise of its system.

연료 벤트/릴리프 밸브의 설계 분석 (Design review of fuel vent-relief valve)

  • 우주발사체의 액체추진공급시스템에서 사용되는 연료 벤트/릴리프밸브는 안전밸브의 조합체로 지상에서 연료를 주입할 때와 비행 중에 추진제 탱크의 과압을 해소하는 역할을 한다. 벤트/릴리프밸브는 구동가스 공급에 의해 벤트밸브를 작동시키는 벤트모드와 설정된 압력을 유지하기 위해 자동으로 밸브를 개폐하는 릴리프모드로 작동한다. 본 논문에서는 해외발사체에 사용된(Saturn) 벤트/릴리프밸브 샘플을 이용하여 한국형발사체의 규격에 적용한 밸브 설계를 검토하였다. 또한 설계 검증 및 기본적인 작동 특성을 분석하기 위해 AMESim 상용코드를 이용하여 해석 모델을 구성하였다. 밸브 모델을 이용해서 동특성 해석을 수행하여 설계 변수에 대해 밸브 개폐 작동시간, 작동성능, 개폐압력을 예상하였다. 이를 통해 연료 벤트/릴리프밸브 설계변수에 따른 작동성을 파악하여 시제품 제작 전 의 상세설계 및 설계 경계조건을 제시하였다.

Design and testing of the KC-100 Spin Recovery Parachute System (SRPS)

  • This paper presented the design of SRPS, ground function test, and the deployment test on a high speed taxi of KC-100 airplane. KAI has developed a spin recovery system in collaboration with Airborne Systems for KC-100 general aviation airplane. Spin mode analysis, rotary balance and forced oscillation tests were performed to obtain the rotational, dynamic derivatives in the preliminary design phase. Prior to the detailed design process of SRPS, approximations for initial estimation of design parameters- fineness ratio, parachute porosity, parachute canopy filling time, and deployment method- were considered. They were done based on the analytical disciplines such as aerodynamics, structures, and stability & control. SRPS consists of parachute, tractor rocket assembly for deployment, attach release mechanism (ARM) and cockpit control system. Before the installation of SRPS in KC-100 airplane, all the control functions of this system were demonstrated by using SBTB(System Breakout Test Box) in the laboratory. SBTB was used to confirm if it can detect faults, and simulate the firing of pyrotechnic devices that control the deployment and jettison of SRPS. Once confirmed normal operation of SRPS, deployment and jettison of parachute on the high speed taxiing were performed.
