  • In this paper IoT/WSN(Internet of Things/Wireless Sensor Network) has been modeled with a random geometric graph. And a performance of the decentralized code for the efficient storage of data which is generated from WSN has been analyzed. WSN with n=100 or 200 has been modeled as a random geometric graph and has been simulated for their performance analysis. When the number of the total nodes of WSN is n=100 or 200, the successful decoding probability as decoding ratio ${\eta}$ depends more on the number of source nodes k rather than the number of nodes n. Especially, from the simulation results we can see that the successful decoding rate depends greatly on k value than n value and the successful decoding rate was above 70% when $${\eta}{\leq_-}2.0$$. We showed that the number of operations of BP(belief propagation) decoding scheme increased exponentially with k value from the simulation of the number of operations as a ${\eta}$. This is probably because the length of the LT code becomes longer as the number of source nodes increases and thus the decoding computation amount increases greatly.

  • The objective of the study is to develop attenuation equations of groud motions in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. The earthquake source characteristics and the medium properties were estimated from available instrumental earthquake records and used as input parameters. The peak ground accelerations (PGA) and pseudo-velocty response spectra(PSV) were simulated by the random vibration theory. The attenuation equations for the PGA were constructed in terms of local magnitudes and hypocentral distances.

  • In the theory of retrial queues it is usually assumed that the flow of primary customers is Poisson. This means that the number of independent sources, or potential customers, is infinite and each of them generates primary arrivals very seldom. We consider now retrial queueing systems with a homogeneous population, that is, we assume that a finite number K of identical sources generates the so called quasi-random input. We present a survey of the main results and mathematical tools for finite source retrial queues, concentrating on M/G/1//K and M/M/c//K systems with repeated attempts.

  • The paper reviews Cronbaha's coefficient to measure a single source of error. On the contrary to classical measurement theory, the generalizability study can be used in the social survey design to calculate Generalizability Index (GI) and Dependability Index (DI) for measuring multiple sources of errors of behavior evaluation. The study proposes application guidelines to implement R:($A{\times}B$) mixed models that are composed of random factor and fixed factor.

  • The basic purpose of the current study is to compute the numerical analysis of heat source/sink for Darcy-Forchheimer three dimensional nanofluid flow with gyrotactic microorganism by rotatable disk via porous media under the slip conditions. Due to nanoparticles, random and thermophoretic motion phenomenon occurs. The governing mathematical model is handled numerically by shooting method. Additionally, the characteristics of velocities, mass, heat, motile microorganisms and associated parameters are thoroughly analyzed via plots and tables. Different physical parameters like Forchheimer number, slip parameters like velocity, porosity parameter, Prandtl number, Brownian number, thermophoresis parameter, heat sink/source parameter, bioconvected Rayleigh number, buoyancy parameteron dimensionless velocities, temperature. Approximate values of Sherwood microorganism are analyzed.

  • The average distortio of the vector quantizer is calcualted using a probability function F of the input source for a given codebook. But, since the input source is unknown in geneal, using the sample vectors that is realized from a random vector having probability function F, a time-average opeation is employed so as to obtain an approximation of the average distortion. In this case the size of the smple set should be large so that the sample vectors represent true F reliably. The theoretical inspection about the approximation, however, is not perfomed rigorously. Thus one might use the time-average distortion without any verification of the approximation. In this paper, the convergence characteristics of the time-average distortions are theoretically investigated when the size of sample vectors or the size of codebook gets large. It has been revealed that if codebook size is large enough, then small sample set is enough to obtain the average distortion by approximatio of the calculated tiem-averaged distortion. Experimental results on synthetic data, which are supporting the analysis, are also provided and discussed.

  • This paper deals with an experimental study for Klippon reiay in Cheju-Heanam HVDC system Klippon relay was troubled many times for years, and Klippon relay's fault caused the HVDC system trip. So for several years, these reasons of Klippon relay fault were investigated. The malfunction of Klippon relay in Cheju-Haenam HVDC system has been caused by the incoming of random surge(current source and voltage source). This paper has stu야ed the theoretic리 analysis and experimental study of Klippon relay, and the solutions against the problems were suggested according to their causes. Among the problems, grounding problem was removed by one-point earth connection and by modification of grounding circuit. The effects of inrush current was removed by inserting the blocking diodes by series in Klippon relay circuits. Finally, The over-voltage induced on Klippon relay, by a relay excitation coil, was removed by inserting a free-wheeling diode in Parallel with the excitation coil.

  • Random network coding can be viewed as a single block code applied to all source packets. To manage the concomitant high coding complexity, source packets can be partitioned into generations; block coding is then performed on each set. To reach a better performance-complexity tradeoff, we propose a novel concatenated network code which mixes generations while retaining the desirable properties of generation-based coding. Focusing on the code's erasure performance, we show that the probability of successfully decoding a generation on erasure channels can increase substantially for any erasure rate. Using both analysis (for small networks) and simulations (for larger networks), we show how the code's parameters can be tuned to extract best performance. As a result, the probability of failing to decode a generation is reduced by nearly one order of magnitude.

  • Third order correlation function is to be advantageous to detect unique features embedded in various random signals that are undtectable with second order correlation or power spectrum. In order paper, we will introduce a real time third order correlator which consists of a laser light source, an acousto-optical modulator with signal controlling circuitry, and a CCD camera connected to computer for image processing. With this correlator, the third order correlation pattern of a signal can be immediately obtained at the camera due to parallelnature of optical computing.

  • Freight mode choice models are essential to the analysis of many areas of transport research. However, observations of actual market choices have only been made in a limited number of situations. Therefore, stated preference(SP) techniques have emerged as an alternative source of actual market choices to be used for estimating freight mode choice models. Considerable confidence exists about SP data, but little consideration has been given to the potential for estimation bias. This paper has been motivated by the theoretical side of estimating SP discrete choice models, focusing on a case study of freight mode choice. Recently developed simulation methods are used to construct inherent random heterogeneity legit models, which consider individual heterogeneity, its inheritance to the next choices and overcome the independence from irrelevant alternatives (IIA) property. This Paper contributes to the development of models dealing with heterogeneity and its inheritance, and sheds light on the heterogeneity of freight transport.
