  • Purpose: This study proposes a model for future research agendas on knowledge management activities as a source of increasing sustainable competitive advantage. Based on the literature, the role of knowledge management in sustainable competitive advantage does not necessarily have a significant effect but involves other variables. For this reason, future research proposals on the role of knowledge management on sustainable competitive advantage and other relevant variables need to be carried out. Research design, data, and methodology: This research uses a literature study. The model development stage is (1) relevant research studies, (2) identification of relevant theories and related variables, (3) developing and making a hypothesis (4) proposed model. Results: From the literature study, it was found that knowledge management plays a role in increasing managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation. Furthermore, managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation significantly affect sustainable competitive advantage. However, other studies have found a different relationship. Conclusions: This study proposes a research model on the role of knowledge management, managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation to improve sustainable competitive advantage. The study results can be used for further research based on the proposed model and as a reference for company owners and management to increase competitive advantage.

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationships between drinking-related knowledge, attitude and drinking behaviors of 244 female nursing college students in G city. Methods: This is descriptive research design. Data were collected from September 27th to October 10th, 2010 after obtaining the informed consent from the participants and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, scheffe' test and pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The drinking-related knowledge scores were significant differences by grade and club activities. The drinking-related attitude scores were significant differences by source of income. Drinking behaviors were significant differences by school record and club activities. Regarding the relationships between variables, there was a positive relationship between drinking behaviors and drinking-related knowledge or attitude. Conclusion: The drinking-related knowledge score of freshmen or the students involved in club activities was the lowest, and the higher the drinking-related knowledge and attitude were, the higher the drinking behaviors were. Therefore, appropriate drinking prevention education need to be implemented to freshmen or in middle and high school repeatedly.

  • The Integration of multi-agent architecture and blackboard architecture may lead to a new architecture to cope with new application areas which need some good and strong points of both the architectures. This paper suggests an integrated architecture of blackboard architecture and multi-agent architecture by using event-based implicit invocation pattern and a blackboard event detection mechanism based on Rete network. From the viewpoints of weak couplings of system components and flexible control of knowledge source agents, it is desirable to use the event-based implicit invocation pattern in the integrated architecture. But the pattern itself does not concern the performance of the architecture, and it is very critical to the performance of the integrated architecture to detect efficiently the blackboard events which can activate knowledge source agents which can contribute to the problem-solving processes of the integrated architecture. The integrated architecture suggested in this paper uses a blackboard event detection mechanism based on Rete network to detect efficiently blackboard events which can activate knowledge source agents.

  • Generic medication market has been increased for economic reasons in Korea. Health authorities worldwide recommend the use of generic medications nowadays. However, patients in Korea are not familiar with the generic medications and considerable percent of those do not know the definition of the generic medications. The purpose of this study was to evaluate adults' knowledge and perception on the generic medications at community pharmacies in Korea. This study was a 11-questionnaire survey conducted from August 9, 2010 to August 27, 2010. Of the 204 respondents, 63 (30.9%) responded that they knew what a generic medication was, but only 16 (25.4%) of those answered that generic medications had the same efficacy as brand medications. When pharmacists were the source of generic medication information, more patients reported having knowledge about the definition of generic medications correctly compared with other sources. Patients with negative experience with generic medications within 6 months were more reluctant to generic substitution suggested by a pharmacist than those with positive experience. Based on the results of this study, further studies should be conducted to establish the best way to provide generic medication information for patients.

  • This paper describes the knowledge extraction for image understanding in knowledge based system. The current set of low level processes operate on the numerical pixel arrays, to segment the image into region and to convert the image into directional image, and to calculate feature for these regions. The current set of intermedate level processes operate on the results of earlier knowledge source to build more complex representations of the data. We have grouped into thee categories : feature based classification, geometric token relation, perceptual organization and grouping.

  • Web2.0 refers to a new service models based by a community oriented philosophy. This creates new opportunities for technology providers and service. The agricultural technology information service in the base of open source technology provide opportunities for increased distribution and visibility to farmer and general user. We would like to find out vest service models and platform that will find new ways of agriculture technology information service. This study suggests that these new agriculture information service strategy in new paradigm of web 2.0. should be revised and adapted to Open API and new applied strategy in agriculture should be developed considering the impact of web 2.0.

  • This research uses high-resolution satellite images as a source of collecting farmland information. For effectively extract the paddy area, we use texture information and different classify methods to assist the satellite image classification. First, using maximum likelihood classifier to extract paddy information from images. The results show that User Accuracy and Procedure Accuracy of the paddy area can increase from 80.60% to 95.45% and 84.38% to 95.45%. Second, establishing a paddy Knowledge Base and using Knowledge Base Classifier to extract paddy area, and result shows the User Accuracy and Producer Accuracy to be 92.16% and 90.06%. Finally, The result shows we can effectively contribute to the paddy field information extraction from high-resolution satellite images.

  • This paper introduces a blackboard system which extracts imbedded road and building structures irom aerial photograph images. The role of three major component(blackboard, knowledge source, and control module)in blackboard system will be illustrated in terms of knowledge representation and control strategies. The hypothesis on a blackboard will be organized in a hierarchical form, the knowledge sources which generate hypothesis and verify them will be shown in detail, and the control module will describe how the knowledge sources can dervie solutions. Especially this paper shows that searching image strutures can be greatly simplified by the use of a mapping image.

  • In order to solve problems in an uncertain and complicated management environment of the modern world, a creative solution that combines diverse perspectives, knowledge, and effort based on diversity within an organization is required. Smart work environment provides an opportunity to express the potential diversity of an individual, extending the source of ideas to the organization, enhancing communication, and linking and sharing information and knowledge. So, this results in increased creative behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the process of connecting and sharing information and knowledge of organizational members on creative behavior and the effect of smart work environment in the process. The purpose of this study is to identify roles of job autonomy, self-efficacy, knowledge sharing and smart work environment in creative process. For the study, 353 surveys with work use group(156 people) and unused group(197 people). Statistical analysis included validity and reliability analysis, structural model analysis. The results showed that self-efficacy and job autonomy had positive effects on creative behavior and knowledge sharing, and job autonomy had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Knowledge sharing has a positive effect on creative behavior, and mediates the relationship between self-efficacy, job autonomy and creative behavior. Particularly, knowledge sharing has a more positive effect on smart work use group. In case of smart work use group, self-efficacy and job autonomy have a relatively high influence on knowledge sharing rather than direct influence on creative behavior appear. This result implies that the achievements of smart work are revealed in terms of knowledge sharing and creative behavior.

  • Using data from the 2007 SCF, this study examined the use of information source for investment decisions of elderly consumers. The results indicated that many elderly consumers (about 88%) involved savings /investment decisions. The elderly used 'Experts' (39.48%) as a major information source for their investment decisions, followed by 'Friends' (24.18%). The results of the multinomial logit analysis suggested that the perceived value, the cost for search, knowledge, risk and some of the demographic factors were significantly related to the choice of the information sources for investments by elderly consumers.
