In this paper, we address the problem of detecting incorrect sonar measurements. We use ideas from the inconsistency of information among sonar measurements together with the sound pressure of the wave from the sonar sensor to develop a new method, called the comparison of the sound pressure (CSP), to detect incorrect sonar readings. The inconsistency of information in cells can be a clue that indicates candidates for incorrect measurements, and the sound pressure of the wave from the sonar sensor determines incorrect readings among the candidates. From various experiments, the proposed method is confirmed that it is better than existing method at deciding the state of sonar measurements.

We examine the problem in which porous/viscoelastic compliant thin plates are subject to pressure fluctuations under transitional or turbulent boundary layer. Measurements are presented of the frequency spectra of the near-field pressure and radiated sound by compliant surface. A porous plate consisting of 5mm thick, open-cell foam with fabric covering and a viscoelastic painted plate of 1mm thick over an acoustic board of 4m thick were placed over a rigid surface in an anechoic wind tunnel. Streamwise velocity and wall pressure measurements were shown to highly attenuate the convective wall pressure energy when the convective wavenumber ($k_{ch}$) was 3.0 or more. The sound source localization on the compliant walls is applied to the measurement of radiated sound by using an acoustic mirror system.

The heavy-weight floor impact sound field of the receiving room in a testing building with bearing wall structure was investigated using bang machine and impact ball. The sound field was investigated through the impact sound pressure level distribution by the field measurement and computational analysis. Predicted sound field using the computational analysis agree with measurement result in the low frequency band. Result shows that standard deviations of the single number rating value are about 2dB in each impact source. Particularly, impact sound pressure level at 120cm height in 63Hz octave band was 5dB lower than spatial averaging value. It was found that receiving positions in the ministry of construction and transportation notice should be reconsidered.

The two-microphone sound-intensity technique has been used for the detection of defects in ra-ally loaded ball bearings. The difference in the sound-intensity levels measured for bearings with no defect and for those with intentionally introduced defects of different sizes n heir elements under various operating conditions of loads and speeds is demonstrated. The results show that of an inner-race or ball defect. It is difficult to detect defects at lower speeds. Sound-pressure measurements were also performed for comparison and it shown that the detectability of defects by sound-intensity measurements is better than that by sound-pressure measurements.

The regulation for floor impact sound level is expected to be amended to 50㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) and below in heavy-weight impact sound and 58㏈(L'$\_$n, AW/) and below in light-weight impact sound in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence factors of floor impact sound levels in apartments. The influence factors were air pressure of bang machine, height of microphones, data acquisition rate, etc. The air pressure range of bang machine were from 2.2 Pa to 2.6 Fa. Five microphones were installed at a height of 0.5m, 0.7m, 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m or 1.7m from floor level. The floor impact sound level was varied about 1-3㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) in heavy-weight impact sound according to the influence factors.
Mean active intensity based active control for the cancellation of radiated noise out of the duct exit is studied. The active intensity control strategy is drerived based on the relation of the exterior sound field out of the duct termination and interior sound field of the duct. One of the characteristics of this control strategy is that the control performance can be maintained regardless of the sensor loction, compared with the conventional local pressure control methods at either interior downstream or exterior field positions. It is also suggested that the digital filtering for the active intensity control can be achieved by time-domain filtered-x LMP (Lest-Mean-Product) adaptive algorithm. Experiments for an open-ended duct are performed to compare the active intensity control performance with conventional pressure control one. Active control experiment of local sound pressure is conducted by widely used filtered-x LMS adaptive Algorithm and active intensity control implementaion uses the derived filter d-x LMP algorithm. It is shown that the exterior sound fileds was much better observable by sensing of the active intensity than by just sound pressure. It is also demonstrated that the global control performance of external field by acoustic intensity is superior to the conventional sound pressure control performance.
Recently, a sound wave phase meter (SWPM) that can directly measure the pressure waveform of sound waves in free space has been reported, and the development of educational experimental equipment using this meter is in progress. One of the main advantages of using this meter is that wavelengths can be obtained directly from the crests and troughs of the measured pressure waveforms in space without expensive equipment. However, there are times when the measurement wavelength does not exactly match the actual wavelength value, and the pressure waveform differs from the actual shape. This study was conducted to identify and analyze the causes of such errors occurring in SWPM. As a result, it was found that wavelength errors occur when the propagation direction of sound waves and the measurement direction of SWPM do not coincide. It has also been found that an error in the pressure waveform is generated when the induction and sound wave signal outputs from the SWPM interfere with each other to produce a composite signal. We have shown that we can develop educational experimental equipment by suggesting ways to reduce such errors.
The purpose of this numerical study was to investigate performance characteristics for cooling tower axial fans with sweep. Performance data for the fans with various sweep angles were obtained in terms of the setting angle at a constant flow rate. Viscous flow calculations were carried out to obtain Performance data of the total pressure rise and hydraulic efficiency. A solution of the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings equations was used to calculate the sound pressure level at three times fan diameter away from the fan. The calculated performance data well represented performance characteristics of the cooling tower axial fan. The total pressure rise and hydraulic efficiency at the same setting angle decreased with sweep angle. Sound pressure level slightly decreased for the fan with a sweep angle of 10 degree. No significant effect of the sweep geometry was found on the sound pressure level.
Acoustic emission spectra was analyzed to investigate the distribution of sound pressure in a 36 kHz sonoreactor. The sound pressure of fundamental frequency (f: 36 kHz), harmonics (2f: 72 kHz, 3f: 108 kHz, 4f: 144 kHz, 5f: 180 kHz, 6f: 216 kHz), and subharmonics (1.5f: 54 kHz, 2.5f: 90 kHz, 3.5f: 126 kHz, 4.5f: 162 kHz, 5.5f: 198 kHz, 6.5f; 234 kHz) was measured at every 5 cm from the ultrasonic transducer using a hydrophone and a spectrum analyzer. It was revealed that the input power of ultrasound, the application of mechanical mixing, and the concentration of SDS affected the sound pressure distributions of the fundamental frequency and total detected frequencies frequencies significantly. Moreover a linear relationship was found between the average total sound pressure and the degree of sonochemical oxidation while there was no significant linear relationship between the average sound pressure of fundamental frequency and the degree of sonochemical oxidation.
