  • The condensation of several aromatic/heteroaromatic aldehydes with 2-aminothiophenol catalyzed by silica sulfuric acid under microwave irradiation afforded 2-arylbenzothiazoles in high yields and short reaction times under solvent-free conditions. The major advantages of the present method are good yields, ecofriendly, reusable catalyst, mild and solvent-free reaction conditions.

  • A rapid and practical green route for N-formylation of primary and secondary amines with formic acid at room temperature under the solvent-free conditions using HEU zeolite as a heterogeneous, reusable and highly efficient catalyst is described. The process is remarkably simple and environmentally benign. Excellent chemoselectivity was observed for the conversion of primary amines in the presence of secondary amines.

  • An efficient and simplified protocol for $NaHSO_4/SiO_2$ catalyzed solvent-free synthesis of $\beta$-enaminone and 2-methylquinolin-4(1H)-one derivatives under microwave irradiation is described. A series of functionalized derivatives have been synthesized in shorter reaction times with moderate to good yields. The use of milder catalyst in non-conventional method offers significant advantages over conventional methods, such as higher selectivities, simplicity, solvent-free reaction and non-environmental polluting conditions.
