NF막에 의한 다양한 염료용액의 막분리 특성 (Study on the Nanofiltration of Various Dye Solutions)

  • 본 연구는 섬유산업에서 많이 사용되고 있는 주요염료인 분산성, 반응성, 산성염료를 대상으로 일반적인 수질오염항목인 COD, T-N, TOC, color, SS, TDS, conductivity 등을 분석하여 각각의 염료용액의 성상을 비교 분석하였고, NF막을 투과시켰을 경우 투과 flux와 배제율이 염료용액 종류에 따라서 어떻게 다른 양상을 나타내는지를 연구하였다. 결과적으로, 염료종류별 화학적 성질 및 구조적인 차이에 의하여 염료용액의 용해도 및 유기물부하 등이 달라짐을 알 수 있었고, 특히, 분산성 염료와 반응성염료는 이들 화학적 성질의 차이가 매우 현격하게 달라서 투과 flux 감소현상과 유기물, color, 부유물 및 용존 고형물, 이온성 물질 등의 배제율이 다른 양상을 보임을 알 수 있었다. 반응성염료 용액은 분산성염료 용액에 비하여 투과 flux는 높지만, TDS의 배제율이 낮은 반면, 분산성염료 용액은 부유성 고형물 농도가 높아 투과 flux가 낮고, 유기물질의 배제율이 낮은 특성을 나타낸다.

  • 생물학적 처리공정의 이차침전지의 고액분리 효율 증대는 전체 시스템 운전의 효율를 증대시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하수처리장 방류수 SS는 대부분 유기물질로 구성되어 있어 이차침전지 방류수에서 SS성분을 낮추기 위해서는 이 성분을 구성하는 미세 SS성분을 자체 응집(self flocculation)을 통해서 그 크기와 무게를 증대시켜 이들의 침전을 통해서 제거할 수 있다, 이에 이차침전지내에 이중정류벽 설치를 통한 이차침전지 유출수 부유물질 (SS) 농도 감소를 확인하였고, 유입수의 일간 변화에 의해 하수가 급격히 증가할 경우 유량변동에 따른 충격부하에 의한 유출 부유물질이 안정적으로 처리되는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 장방향 이차침전지 부유물질 저감을 위해 자체응집을 시킬 수 있는 시설물의 설치가 필요하다.

  • To develop various usable water from coal seam gas (CSG) water that needs to be pumped out from coal seams for methane gas production, a feasibility study was carried out, evaluating and analysing a recent report (Coal Seam Gas Water Management Policy 2012) from Queensland State Government in Australia to suggest potential CSG water treatment options for fit-for-purpose usable water production. As CSG water contains intrinsically high salinity-driven total dissolved solid (TDS), bicarbonate, aliphatic carbon, $Ca^{+2}$, $Mg^{+2}$ and so on, it was found that appropriate treatment technologies are required to reduce the hardness below 60 mg/L as $CaCO_3$ by setting the reduction rates of $Ca^{+2}$, $Mg^{+2}$ and Na+ concentrations, as well as TDS reduction. Also, Along with fiber filtration and membrane separation, an oxidation degradation process was found to be required. Along with salinity reduction, as CSG water contains organic compounds (TOC: 248 mg/L, $C_6-C_9$: <20 mg/L and $C_{10}-C_{36}$: <60 mg/L), compounds with relatively high molecular weights ($C_{10}-C_{36}$) need to be treated first. Therefore, this study suggests a combined system design with filtration (Reverse osmosis) and oxidation reduction (electrolysis) technologies, offering proper operating conditions to produce fit-for-purpose usable water from CSG water.

LC/MS/MS를 이용한 산화성 스트레스 지표로써 소변 중 8-iso-PGF 분석 (Determination of 8-iso-PGF as Oxidative Stress Marker in Human Urine by High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Tandem Mass Spectrometry)

  • This study aimed to develop analytical method for 8-isoprostanes as biomarkers for oxidative stress with LC/MS/MS technique and to apply the method for human urine samples. Analyzed compounds for urinary oxidative stress markers were 7 stereo-isomers of prostaglandins and the internal standard (iso-$PGF_{2{\alpha}}-d_4$) was used to adjust the recovery rate. The method for determining urinary iso-$PGF_{2{\alpha}}$ consisted of solid phase extraction and LC/MS/MS detection. Separation of isomers of prostaglandins completed by porous graphitic carbon column and buffer solution. Detection limits for urinary markers of oxidative stress, iso-$PGF_{2{\alpha}}$ with LC/MS/MS were 0.01 ng/ml by S/N ratio 3 and 0.028 ng/ml by calculated as to FDA method. The recovery (92.8~101.9%) and precision (8.8~20.7%) of analysis were feasible for detecting iso-$PGF_{2{\alpha}}$ in real human urine samples. We detected 4 isomers of prostaglandins in human urine samples. Mean (standard deviation) of urinary iso-$PGF_{2{\alpha}}$ concentration were 0.231 (0.117) ng/mg creatinine for smoking group and 0.154 (0.082) ng/mg creatinine for non-smoking group.

  • 2013년 시리아 내전 간 사용되어 1,300명 이상의 사망자를 발생시킨 사린(GB) 등의 화학무기로 인해 화학무기에 대한 국제적 관심이 다시 한번 높아지게 되었다. 화학작용제는 자연환경에 노출이 되면 가수분해(hydrolysis) 또는 광분해(photodegradation) 과정을 거쳐 분해물질로 분해된다. 화학작용제 및 분해물질(가수분해 또는 산화된 생성물)은 통상수 ppb 정도의 낮은 농도로 존재하기 때문에 정확한 샘플분석을 위해서는 화학작용제 및 분해물질을 환경샘플로부터 분리, 추출, 농축시키는 전처리 과정이 필요하다. 용매추출법(LLE), 고체상 추출법(SPE) 등이 화학작용제의 전처리 방법으로 많이 사용되나 최근에는 사용되는 용매의 양은 줄이면서 분석효율은 높일 수 있는 liquid phase microextraction (LPME)이 개발 적용되고 있다. 본 리뷰에서는 화학작용제 및 그 분해물질의 전처리에 활용된 LPME 전처리 기법에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

한외여과에 의한 다시마 정미성분 분리에 대한 연구 (Studies on the Separation of Taste Components from Sea Tangle (Laminaria japonica) Extract by Cross Flow Ultrafiltration)

  • 한외여과를 이용하여 다시마 열수추출물로 부터 가용성 저분자량의 정미성분을 회수하는데 필요한 조건을 최적화하기 위해, 분리막 선정 및 온도, 압력, Flow rate의 영향을 고찰하였고 선정된 최적 조건하에서 한외여과와 Diafiltration을 실시하여 투과유량의 flux profile과 정미성분의 회수율을 비교하였다. 분리막은 소수성인 GR 51PP가 친수성인 FS 형태보다 높은 투과유량을 유지하였다. Flow rate의 증가에 따라서 투과유량도 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 3.7 l/min에서 한계값을 나타내었다. 한편, 압력이 높은 경우에는 Steady-state에서 투과유량이 감소하는 경향을 보였고 온도 증가에 따라서는 큰 변화는 없었다. 한외여과와 Diafiltration 실시에 따른 투과유량의 Flux profile과 전체 고형분과 정미성분의 회수율을 조사한 결과 한외여과를 실시한 경우가 비교적 높은 회수율을 보였으나 투과유량은 전반적으로 Diafiltration 보다 낮았다.

Estimating Ocean Tidal Constituents Using SAR Interferometric Time Series over the Sulzberger Ice Shelf, W. Antarctica

  • Ocean tides in Antarctica are not well constrained mostly due to the lack of tidal observations. Especially, tides underneath and around ice shelves are uncertain. InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) data has been used to observe ice shelf movements primarily caused by ocean tides. Here, we demonstrate that it is possible to estimate tidal constituents underneath the Sulzberger ice shelf, West Antarctica, solely using ERS-1/2 tandem mission DInSAR (differential InSAR) observations. In addition, the tidal constituents can be estimated in a high-resolution (~200 m) grid which is beyond any tidal model resolution. We assume that InSAR observed ocean tidal heights can be derived after correcting the InSAR data for the effect of atmospheric loading using the inverse barometric effect, solid earth tides, and ocean tide loading. The ERS (European Remote Sensing) tandem orbit configuration of a 1-day separation between SAR data takes diminishes the sensitivity to major tidal constituents including $K_1$ and $S_2$. Here, the dominant tidal constituent $O_1$ is estimated using 8 differential interferograms underneath the Sulzberger ice shelf. The resulting tidal constituent is compared with a contemporary regional tide model (CATS2008a) and a global tide model (TPXO7.1). The InSAR estimated tidal amplitude agrees well with both models with RMS (root-mean-square) differences of < 2.2 cm and the phase estimate corroborating both tide models to within $8^{\circ}$. We conclude that fine spatial scale (~200 m) Antarctic ice shelf ocean tide determination is feasible for dominant constituents using C-band ERS-1/2 tandem mission InSAR.

섬유 방향에 따른 에폭시 기반 복합재의 마찰 및 마모 특성에 관한 연구 (Effect of Fiber Orientation on the Friction and Wear Properties of Epoxy-based Composites)

  • In this paper, we present an experimental investigation of the friction coefficient and wear area change of carbon/epoxy and E-glass/epoxy composites depending on the fiber direction (0°/90°). We compared the results of the case where the sliding direction is parallel to the fiber direction (0°) with that of the case where it is perpendicular to the fiber direction (90°). The ball-on-plate wear test equipment was used to cause wear in both directions. Two types of specimens were prepared with thicknesses of 3 mm-one made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite (CFRP) and the other of glass fiber reinforced plastic composite (GFRP). A normal force of 20 N was applied to the specimen and the sliding speed was 10 mm/s and the sliding distance was set to 20 m to perform the wear test. The CFRP demonstrates superior tribological characteristics compared to the GFRP. This outcome is attributed to graphitization of carbon, which serves as solid lubricating particles. In addition, both CFRP and GFRP are worn more in the 90° direction than in the 0° direction. This is due to the greater occurrence of fiber breakage and separation in the 90° direction than in the 0° direction. This study is expected to be utilized as basic data for understanding the friction and wear characteristics of CFRP and GFRP composites along the fiber direction and to apply the appropriate material.

김치의 순간살균방법(瞬間殺菌方法) -제1보(第-報). 배추 김치의 순간살균방법(瞬間殺菌方法)과 살균효과(殺菌效果)- (Studies on the Kimchi Pasteurization -Part 1. Method of Kimchi Pasteurization with Chinese Cabbage Kimchi and its Effect on the Storage-)

  • 김치의 순간살균장치(瞬間殺菌裝置)를 예열부(豫熱部), 살균부(殺菌部), 냉각부(冷却部) 및 액분리-혼합부(液分離-混合部)갖도록 동(銅) coil 으로 제작(製作) 하고 소금과 배추를 재료로 조제한 김치를 살균(殺菌)하였다. 액분리(液分離)에서 김치액을 분리(分離)하여 예열부(豫熱部)에서 순간가열(瞬間加熱)하여 살균부(殺菌部)에서 3분간(分間) 보지(保持)하였으며 곧 냉각부(冷却部)에 순간냉각(瞬間(冷却)시켜 고형분(固形分)과 재혼합(再混合)하였다. 살균온도(殺菌溫度)를 $68^{\circ}$, $75^{\circ}$, $81^{\circ}$, $85^{\circ}C$의 4개구(個區)에서 처리(處理)한 결과 산도(酸度) 및 pH의 변화(變化)를 크게 억제할 수 있었고 저장기간(貯藏期間)을 비살균(非殺菌)김치에 비(比)하여 2배연장(倍延長)시킬 수 있었다. 김치의 숙성도(熟成度)에 차이(差異)를 두고 살균(殺菌)결과 숙성도(熟成度)가 낮은 구(區)에서 살균효과(殺菌效果)가 더욱 높았다.

공기중 이소시아네이트류의 측정 및 분석방법에 관한 비교연구 (A Comparison of Sampling and Analytical Methods for Airborne Isocyanates)

  • This study was performed to evaluate accuracy and precision of filter method and impinger method for analyzin airborne isocyanates in mixture (2, 6-TDI, HDI, 2, 4-TDI, MDI). Filter method was performed using the OSHA Method 42 and impinger method using the NIOSH Method 5521. The samples were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detector (HPLC-UVD). After the optimum operating conditions for each method were investigated, samples with various concentration levels were quantified at the conditions. The precision was expressed by the pooled coefficient of variation(C.V.) and the accuracy by overall accuracy. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The optimum condition of filter method was determined at 35/65 ACN/buffer (0.01 M ammonium acetate) in mobile phase. And in case of impinger method, it was at 30/70 ACN/buffer(0.2 M sodium acetate). The effect of concentrations of acetate on the separation of the peaks was not significant, but, the effect of ACN/buffer ratio was significant. 2. The correlation coefficients for the two methods were above 0.9 in all isocyanate compounds. Average recovery efficiencies for 2, 6-TDI, HDI, 2, 4-TDI and MDI in filter method were 92.4%, 102.6%, 87.3% and 101.0%, respectively. Those in impinger method were 106.6%, 106.7%, 99.0% and 103.6%, respectively. As a result, the recovery efficiency of impinger method was higher than those of filter method in analyzing isocyanate compounds. 3. The pooled coefficients of variations of the methods were slightly higher than expected. The overall accuracies of the methods were within $\pm 25%$ for each isocyanate compound. Since these results satisfy NIOSH criteria, the accuracy of the experiment is appropriate. 4. As seen above, impinger method is more efficient than filter method. But, there are many disadvantages in impinger method. Therefore, solid sorbent such as a glass fiber filter must be developed in order to have the high efficiency not less than that of impinger method in the future.
