유리섬유 강화 열가소성 복합재료의 굽힘성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the bending process of glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite)

  • Glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite materials have considerable promise for increased use in low cost high volum applications because of the potential for processing by solid phase forming. However, the forming characteristics of these materials have not been well known. The primary focus of this research is the investigation of the bendability of these composites and spring-back phenomena in pure bending. The materials tested contained 10, 35, and 40 percent by weight of randomly oriented glass fiber in a polypropylene matrix. The bending tests were performed at temperatures ranging form 75 ".deg. c" to 150 ".deg. c" and at punch speeds of 2.54 mm/sec and 0.0254 mm/sec. The measured bendability and spring back angle in pure bending werw compared with the predictions based on the simple analyical models. Goog agreement between experimental and analytical results was observed.esults was observed.

  • It is reported that semi-solid forming process takes many advantages over the conventional forming process, such as a long die life, good mechanical properties and energy saves. It is important to predict the deformation behavior for optimization of the forging process with semi-solid materials and to control liquid segregation for mechanical properties of materials. But rheology material has thixotropic, pseudo-plastic and shear-thinning characteristics. So, it is difficult for a numerical simulation of the rheology process to be performed because complicated processes such as the filling to include the state of the free surface and solidification in the phase transformation must be considered. General plastic or fluid dynamic analysis is not suitable for the analysis of the rheology material behavior. Recently, molecular dynamics is used for the behavior analysis of the rheology material and turned out to be suitable among several methods. In this study, molecular dynamics simulation was performed for the control of liquid segregation, forming velocity, and viscosity in compression experiment as a part of study on the analysis of rheology forming process.

  • The technology of Semi-Solid Forging(SSF) has been actively developed to fabricate near-net shape products using light and hardly formable materials. Generally, the SSF process is composed of slug heating,forming,compression holding and ejecting step. After forming step in SSF, the slug is comperssed during a certain holding time in order to be completely filled in the die cavity and be accelerated in solidification rate. This paper presents the analysis of temperature,solid fraction and shrinkage at compression holding step for a cylindrical slug,then predicts the solidification time to obtain the final shaped part. Enthalpy-based finite element analysis is performed to solve the heat transfer problem considering phase change in solidification.

  • The optimal conditions were investigated in order to manufacture the light automotive body parts using the semi-solid forging process by the finite element nalysis. Considering about macro-segregation cause to difference of relative velocity between solid phase and liquid phase, solidificational phenomenon cause to heat transfer from die and export of the latent heat, so solid fraction updating algorithm can be proposed. The rigid thermo-viscoplastic finite element analysis was carried out according to die temperature with proposed algorithm, so availability of forming part were understood. The finite element program can be used to the analysis of semi solid forging process.

  • 본 연구는 고상 성형된 유리섬유 강화 폴리프로필렌의 충격강도에 대한 연구와 성형동안의 재료거동에 대한 미시적 관찰을 행하고자 하였다. 재료의 충격강도 측정을 위해 노치가 없는 시편을 가지고 Izod충격시험을 행하였다. 충격시험에 사용된 복합재료는 중량비로 20%, 30%와 40%의 유리섬유를 함유한 재료이다. 고상 성형품의 성형변형률에 따른 충격강도의 변화를 연구하기 위해 충격시편은 10%, 20% 및 30% 변형률까지 인장 성형 후 제작되었다. 성형온도에 따른 제품의 충격강도의 변화를 살펴보기 위하여 $100^{\circ}C$, $125^{\circ}C$$150^{\circ}C$에서 성형을 행하였다. 성형된 시편의 충격강도는 유리섬유의 함유량이 증가함에 따라서 증가함을 보였다.

Barium Titanate를 고상반응으로 합성할때 일어나는 이상팽창에 관한 연구 (A Study of Abnormal Expansion to be Synthesized Barium Titanate in Solid-solid Reaction)

  • When the barium titanate is Synthesized in Solid-solid reaction the abnormal expansion occurs at about 110$0^{\circ}C$. The mixture was made of corresponding to the theoretical composition of barium titanate. The mixture was fired at various temperature from 90$0^{\circ}C$ to 130$0^{\circ}C$, After that the specimen was tested closely with XDR dilatometer and SEM. The results indicate that 1, The activation energy of barium titanate formation was 42 Kcal/mole. 2, Thermal expansion up to to 90$0^{\circ}C$ was mainly caused by $CO_2$ whereas it was mainly caused by the formation of the secondary phase above 100$0^{\circ}C$. 3. Thermal expansion was not influenced by the forming pressure up to 1000kg/$cm^2$ but it was largely influenced bythe forming pressure above 200kg/$cm^2$.

  • Glass fiber reinforced polymeric composites hold considerable promise for increased use in low cost high volume applications because of the potential for processing by solid phase forming. Unfortunately, because of the wide variety of such materials, inherent bariability in properties, and complex temperature and strain rate dependence, large strain behavior of these materials has not been well characterized. Of particular importance is failure during processing due to localized necking instability, and it is this phenomenon that is primary focus of this study. The strain rate and temperature dependence is used to predict limiting tensile strains, based on Mackinack imperfection theory. Excellent correlation was obtained between theory and experiment, and the results are summarized in the limit strains as a function of temperature and stain rate.

반용융 단조품의 제조 (Manufacturing of Product by Semi-Solid Forging)

  • The semi-solid forging is a new forging technology in which the billet is heated to the semi-solid state coexisting liquid and solid phase for making globular microstructure and subsequently formed. As the semi-solid forging is compared with conventional casting such as die casting and squeeze casting for the characteristics of its process, the product without inner defects such as gas porosity and segregation can be obtained and its microstructure is globular grain. Simutaneously, its mechanical properties are improved by globular microstructure and the lower temperature of the slug causes the cycle time of manufacturing to be shortened and the die life to be lengthened. As it is compared with conventional cold and hot forging, it is possible to minimize the equipment of production owing to a lower forming load and reduce the number of process by a followed treatment for complex shaped product. Therefore it is needed to confirm the quality of a semi-solid forged product by defining its characteristics quantitatively under these advantages. This paper investigates the formability of a master cylinder by its forming variables. And the microstructural characteristics and mechanical property of it is also studied.

  • Polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) Schottky barrier thin film transistors (SB-TFT) are fabricated by erbium silicided source/drain for n-type SB-TFT. High quality poly-Si film were obtained by crystallizing the amorphous Si film with excimer laser annealing (ELA) or solid phase crystallization (SPC) method. The fabricated poly-Si SB-TFTs have a large on/off current ratio with a low leakage current. Moreover, the electrical characteristics of poly-Si SB TFTs are significantly improved by the additional forming gas annealing in 2 % $H_2/N_2$, because the interface trap states at the poly-Si grain boundaries and at the gate oxide/poly-Si channel decreased.
