The most effective methods for utilizing solar energy are to use the sunlight and solar thermal energy such as hybrid panel simultaneously and to use concentrator. From such a view point systems using various kinds of photovoltaic panels are constructed in the world. However, there has not been a hybrid panel with a concentrator. If the sunlight is concentrated on solar cell, cell conversion efficiency increases and the temperature of the solar cell s increases. As the temperature of the solar cells increases, the cell conversion efficiency gradually decreases. For maintaining the cell conversion efficiency constant, it is necessary to keep solar cell at low temperature. In this paper, after designing a concentration rate for concentrating, we propose a model for cooling the cell and for using wasted heat. And, we compare it with conventional panels after calculating the electrical and thermal efficiency, using the energy balance equation.

Although for its great amount and cleanness solar energy has been studied a lot as a substitute one, it is limitedly being utilized in heating water and partly in special usage for high cost of installing solar cell in Korea. Consider domestic shortage of natural energy resources and environmental issue by the Climate Agreement treated in 1994, it is urgently needed to study the practical application of solar energy as a substitute one. Therefore in order to increase the efficiency of solar cell and decrease its price, this study treats the course of designing and manufacturing the panel that connects sunlight by fixing reflector.
In this study, a simulation program was developed with heat transfer model in the thermal storage tank for a solar collector and burner combined heating and hot water supply system. Analysis was conducted with variation of operating condition and schedule to analyze performance of a hot water supply and panel heating system with a solar collector and burner combined thermal storage tank. The simulation program is divided two sections. One part is calculation of temperature variation of water which flows through the panel in the floor for heating of the residential house during 24 hours, and the other part is heat transfer calculation for the reaction time to get desired water temperature in the thermal storage tank. As results, light oil consumption and system performance during operation period were analyzed with variation of climate condition and with or without solar collector. Most of the case, oil could be saved about from 24 to 41% with installing the solar collector. The performance of the system is more dependent on radiation time of the solar collector rather than the intensity of the solar radiation which was adopted for the climate analysis.

The PV-Solarwall system has been introduced as a promising alternative to harness solar energy for both heating applications and electricity generation simultaneously. The system comprises a PV solar panel(for electricity generation). In addition, the solarwall incorporates a fan strategically located behind the PV panel to bring the warm and fresh air from the solarwall into the room. Because of its location and convective cooling principle, the fan also serves to reduce the operating temperature of the PV panel thereby increasing its efficiency. So this PV-Solarwall system holds much promise for saving heating and electricity costs compared with a PV system without solarwall. In particular, by controlling the tilt angle of the entire PV-Solarwall system between $0^{\circ}$(horizontal) and $90^{\circ}$(vertical), the performance of the system can be further evaluated. It is expected that the range of tilt angle PV-Solarwall between $40^{\circ}$ and $50^{\circ}$ will improve the output of the system.
The solar panel that consists of copper plate and copper tube was successfully welded by ultrasonic seam welding. However it was not only expensive the copper material but also ultrasonic welding has many problem such as high error rate, difficulty of dissimilar material welding, noise, etc. At this study, the laser welding of solar panel with aluminum plate instead of copper. The welding were carried out with the pulsed Nd:YAG laser and the weld bead geometry was measured with the variation of pulse energy. Consequently, there was no difference between the ultrasonic and the laser welding on the performance of heat transfer capacities. Also the formation of intermetalic compound such as CuAl2 was increased with the pulse energy.

The most effective methods of utilizing solar energy are to use the sunlight and solar thermal energy such as hybrid panel simultaneously and to use concentrator. From such a view point, systems using various kinds of photovoltaic panels were constructed in the world. However there have not been a type of panel using concentrator and hybrid simultaneously. If the sunlight are concentrated on the solar cell, cell conversion efficiency increase and the temperature of the solar cells increases. As the temperature of the solar cells increases, so cell conversion efficiency decreases. Therefore, for maintaining cell conversion efficiency at these conditions, it is necessary to keep the cell at low temperature. In this paper, after designing a concentrate rate for concentrating, we proposed model for cooling cell and using waste heat, and we compared with conventional panels after calculating the electrical and thermal efficiency using energy balance equation.
The experimental study was conducted to optimize the system dissipating properly heat from the in-situ solar panel installed on the roof. For this purpose, six 12-Watt panels, which were consisted of the different design conditions such as containing phase change material(PCM), changing the array of the aluminum fin and honeycomb at the back of the panel, were tested. PCM, which had $44^{\circ}C$ melting point, was chosen in this study. In order to enhance absorbing and expelling heatin PCM, profiled aluminum fin was placed either inward oroutward from the panel. Furthermore, Aluminum honeycomb is imbedded in the back container to find if it would improve the thermal conductivity of PCM. During the experiment, there were ranged to $26^{\circ}C\sim32^{\circ}C$ for outdoor temperature and $700W/m^2\sim1000W/m^2$ for irradiance. As a result, the solar panel, combined with honeycomb and outward fins with PCM instead of placing the fins inward, is showing the best performance in terms of controling panel temperature and its efficiency.

Solar power is being spotlighted recently as a new energy source due to environmental problems and applications of solar power to curved structures are increasing. Solar panels installed on curved surfaces have different efficiencies depending on its position and the efficient positioning of solar panels plays a critical role in the design of solar power generation systems. In this study, the changing characteristics of solar irradiance were analyzed for hemispherical dome with a large curvature and the positioning of solar panels that can efficiently utilize solar energy was investigated. With an icosahedron-based hemispherical dome consisting of triangular elements as target model, a program for calculating solar irradiance using a normal vector of the solar module on each face was developed. Furthermore, the change of solar irradiance according to the sun's path was analyzed by time and season, and its effects on shades were also examined. From the analysis results, the effective positioning could be determined on the basis of the efficiency of the solar panels installed on the dome surfaces on solar irradiance.
In this paper, the efficiency of the solar system is lowered due to the partial shading such as the environmental factors of the solar panel. In order to solve this problem, a DC OPTIMIZER is proposed for a maximum power generation system of a photovoltaic panel. The proposed DC OPTIMIZER is composed of a buck structure that performs the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control of each module of the solar panel, thus maximizing the efficiency. In order to verify the proposed DC Optimizer, the efficiency was measured by varying the irradiance using a solar simulator instead of the solar panel. As a result, it showed high efficiency characteristics as the maximum energy conversion efficiency was 99.3% at $800w/m^2$, $900w/m^2$, and the average efficiency was 99.06% excluding $100w/m^2$. The maximum efficiency of MPPT was 99.97% at $200w/m^2$, efficiency showed excellent performance.

Recently, solar energy generation is one of the fastest growing industries for eco-friendly energy. Every year, solar energy generation industry grows to 42% on average. However, polysilicon sludge is generated from processing of polysilicon but, there is nothing to handle that. Therefore, we need research to recycle polysilicon sludge. Also, improved fire resistance efficiency of wall is required according to reinforced fire safety standards due to many cases of big fires in our country. This study focuses on density and strength properties according to the addition ratio of paper Ash for the lightweight composite panel core with polysilicon sludge. As a result of the test, adding paper ash 9% has the best density and strength properties.
