솔젤법에 의해 제작된 $TiO_2$ 박막 특성 (Characteristics of $TiO_2$ thin films by sol-gel method)

  • 본 연구에서는 솔젤법에 의해 최적의 유전특성을 갖는 $TiO_2$ 박막의 제작조건을 정한다. 이를 위해 최적의 조건으로 합성된 sol을 이용하여 박막을 제작한 후 박막의 유전율을 측정한다. 가수분해에 필요한 물의 양이 화학양론적인 양보다 적은 경우에는 직쇄상 구조를 갖는 투명 sol이 생성되고 많은 경우에는 cluster상 입자를 갖는 현탁 sol이 생성된다. 또한 박막의 유전율은 $120^{\circ}C$ 부근을 시작으로 지수함수적으로 증가하는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • The polymeric alumina sol was prepared by partial hydrolysis of aluminum sec-butoxide reacted with acetylacetone and its characteristics was investigated. The effects of alcohol solvent, acetylacetone, and acid concentration to the sol were investigated. FT-IR and Al27-MASNMR were used to study hydrolysis and polymerization reaction of aluminum complex. Synthesized sol showed the characteristics of polymeric alumina sol. To make a clear polymeric alumina sol, the optimum contents of acetylacetone, H2O and alcohol solvent were 0.4-0.6 mole, 0.25-1.25 mole, 3-5 mole per one mole alkoxide respectively. As a result of the Al27-MASNMR analysis, it was noted that hexa-penta-coordinated Al were main structure.

  • Ti-Sn sol is fabricated using sol-gel method. In case the amount of water required hydrolysis smaller than that for stoichiometry, Ti sol forms clear sol which has normal chain structure. On the contrary, in case the amount of water required hydrolysis larger than that for stoichiometry, Ti sol forms suspended sol which has cluster structure. Viscosity of Ti-Sn sol decrease with increasing HCl additive. Gelation of Ti-Sn sol is delayed with increasing HCl and $Sn(OC_2H_5)_4$ additive.

  • $TiO_2-SnO_2$ thin films are fabricated using sol-gel method. In case the amount of water required hydrolysis smaller than that for stoichiometry, Ti sol forms clear sol which has normal chain structure. On the contrary, in case the amount of water required hydrolysis larger than that for stoichiometry, Ti sol forms suspended sol which has cluster structure. The thickness of thin films increase about $0.03{\sim}0.04{\mu}m$ every a dipping. The permittivity and dissipation factor of $TiO_2-SnO_2$ thin films decrease with increasing frequency. Thin films show semiconductive characteristics above $400^{\cric}C$.

  • Ti-Sn sol is fabricated using sol-gel method. Initial viscosity of sol decreases with increasing HCl additive. Gelation of sol is retarded with increasing HCl additive. From the results of TG-DTA, the peaks of particular organics combustion do not occur because Sn sol is hydrolyzed sufficiently.

  • In this study, PLZT stock solutions around x/65/35 (x=6~11) ferroelectric region were prepared by Sol-Gel method and deposited on ITO-glass by spin-coating method. The thin films were annealed by RTA(rapid thermal annealing). The variations of crystallographic structure of the thin films were observed using XRD and hysteresis curves, dielectric characteristics, and optical transmittances were measured in order to investigate the characteristics of the thin films. The thin films were crystallized at $750^{\circ}C$ for 5 min by RTA. Relative dielectric constant and optical transmittance increased with increasing La content, Ec and Pr were higher for thin films than for bulk materials.

  • Humidity sensors using $TiO_2$ thin films were fabricated on the multi-electrode device by Sol-Gel method and their wettability, surface potential decays and humidity sensing characteristics were investigated. Contact angle of thin films was $28^{\cic}\;at\; 400^{\circ}C$ and surface potential decayed rapidly at $400^{\circ}C$. The specimen showed best humidity sensing characteristics at $400^{\circ}C$. From the results, they were confirmed that humidity sensing characteristics of thin films have connection with contact angle and surface potential decays.

Comparison of Tribological Characteristics of ZnO Coatings Prepared by Sputtering and Sol-gel Methods

  • In this work the tribological characteristics were compared between ZnO coatings on glass substrate prepared by sputtering and sol-gel methods. In order to assess the effects of processing method on the tribological characteristics, the friction and wear properties of the coatings were measured by using a reciprocating type of micro-tribotester. The sputtered ZnO coatings were prepared on a glass substrate at room temperature, $150^{\circ}$, and $300^{\circ}$. The ZnO coatings prepared by sol-gel method were heat-treated in air atmosphere at $550^{\circ}$ for one hour. The crystal structure and surface morphology of the coatings were measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), respectively. The experimental results showed that overall the sputtered coatings exhibited better friction and wear properties than coatings prepared by sol-gel method. The sputtered coating grown at room temperature had a relatively low friction coefficient of 0.14 and superior wear resistance compared with the other coatings. Nevertheless, sol-gel method of coating ZnO on glass is beneficial for economical coating of a large surface area.

다양한 형태의 금속 산화물을 이용한 Pd계 복합 수소분리막의 2원계 중간층 형성에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Formation of Binary Intermediate Layer on Pd-based Hydrogen Separation Membrane Using Various Types of Metal Oxides)

  • 본 연구에서는 복합 수소분리막 중간층의 pin hole, crack 및 defect를 최소화하기 위하여 powder type과 sol type의 금속산화물을 이용하여 복합화하였다. 중간층의 표면 형상과 투과 특성은 주사전자현미경(SEM) 분석과 $N_2$ 투과도 테스트를 통해 평가하였으며, 제조한 수소분리막의 성능평가를 위해 $N_2$$H_2$를 이용하여 단일가스 투과 테스트를 수행하였다. Powder type과 sol type의 금속산화물을 각각 이용하여 중간층을 적층한 결과 sol type 금속산화물을 이용하여 적층한 중간층의 표면 조도가 매우 낮았으며, 특히 $TiO_2$ sol로 형성된 중간층의 pin-hole, crack 및 defect가 현저히 감소하였다. Powder와 sol을 복합화하여 적층한 중간층은 sol로 형성된 중간층과 거의 유사한 특성을 보였으며, 이를 기반으로 제조한 수소분리막은 1 bar의 압력구배, 672 K의 온도에서 약 $0.32mol/m^2s$의 수소 투과도를 나타내었으며, 선택도는 약 10,890 이상으로 측정되었다.

Sol-Gel법으로 HA코팅된 치과용 임플란트 합금의 표면특성 (Surface Characteristics of HA Coated Dental Implant Alloy by Sol-Gel Method)

  • Surface characteristics of HA(hydroxyapatite) coated dental implant alloy by Sol-Gel method were investigated using potentiostat, ICP, SEM, EDX, EPMA and surface roughness tester. Surface roughness of HA coated specimen by Sol-Gel showed higher than that of PVD coated specimen. Corrosion resistance increased in the order of $1\%$ lactic acid, artificial saliva, $0.5\%$ HCI and $0.9\%$ NaCl solution. Amount of Ca element release was higher than that of V and P in the $0.5\%$ HCI and $0.9\%$ NaCl solution.
