암과 흙 혼합재료로 이루어진 철도노반의 열차 반복하중 작용에 의한 변형특성 (Deformation Characteristics of Crushed Rock-Soil Mixtures of Railway Subgrade under Train Cyclic Loadings)

  • There are lots of tunnel intervals in the KTX II stage construction line for the linearity of railway line passing mountain region. In order to use the rocks from tunnel excavations, railway subgrades are constructed with crushed rock-soil mixtures. In this study, plain strain test using large scale box was conducted in order to analyze the characteristics of deformation behavior of railway subgrades composed of crushed rock-soil mixtures. The effects of variation of degree of saturation, stress level of applied loadings, and number of loading cycles on the resilient and permanent deformation behavior were analyzed. The results show that degree of saturation have a great effect on the deformation behavior of crushed rock-soil mixtures. The axial strain ranges between $0.1{\sim}0.8%$ with variation of degree of saturation, in assumption that deviatoric stress applied on the subgrade by high-speed train load is 55kPa.

Traffic-load-induced dynamic stress accumulation in subgrade and subsoil using small scale model tests

  • Under repeated loading, the residual stresses within the subgrade and subsoil can accelerate the deformation of the road structures. In this paper, a series of laboratory cyclic loading model tests and small-scale model tests were conducted to investigate the dynamic stress response within soils under different loading conditions. The experimental results showed that a dynamic stress accumulation effect occurred if the soil showed cumulative deformation: (1) the residual stress increased and accumulated with an increasing number of loading cycles, and (2) the residual stress was superimposed on the stress response of the subsequent loading cycles, inducing a greater peak stress response. There are two conditions that must be met for the dynamic stress accumulation effect to occur. A threshold state exists only if the external load exceeds the cyclic threshold stress. Then, the stress accumulation effect occurs. A higher loading frequency results in a higher rate of increase for the residual stress. In addition to the superposition of the increasing residual stress, soil densification might contribute to the increasing peak stress during cyclic loading. An increase in soil stiffness and a decrease in dissipative energy induce a greater stress transmission within the material.

Experimental study on modified low liquid limit silt for abutment backfill in bridge-embankment transition section

  • Low liquid limit silt, widely distributed in the middle and down reaches of Yellow River, has the disadvantages of poor grading, less clay content and poor colloidal activity. It is very easy to cause vehicle jumping at the bridge-embankment transition section when the low liquid limit silt used as the backfill at the abutment back. In this paper, a series of laboratory tests were carried out to study the physical and mechanical properties of the low liquid limit silt used as back filling. Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) was excited by active MgO and hydrated lime to solidify silt as abutment backfill. The optimum ratio of firming agent and the compaction and mechanical properties of reinforced soil were revealed through compaction test and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) test was used to study the pore characteristics and hydration products of reinforced soil. 6% hydrated lime and alkali activated slag were used to solidify silt and fill the model of subgrade respectively. The pavement settlement regulation and soil internal stress-strain regulation of subgrade with different materials under uniformly distributed load were studied by model experiment. The effect of alkali activated slag curing agent on curing silt was verified. The research results can provide technical support for highway construction in silt area of the Yellow River alluvial plain.

수평지반반력계수에 따른 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 수평변위 분석 (Analysis of the lateral displacement to the Large Diameter Bored Pile based on the application of the Lateral coefficient of subgrade reaction)

  • Using the case of design to the Large diameter Bored Pile, We showed the various method to estimate the Lateral coefficient of subgrade reaction and analyzed the lateral displacement behavior according to the characteristics of sub layer distribution. According to the study, Mutual relation to the N value and the soil modulus of deformation showed 400N to 800N to the fine grained soil and weathered soil. It showed simular tendancy with the proposed expression of Schmertmann. But Weathered rock was over estimated as 4,200N. $k_h$ to the sedimentory soil and weathered rock each showed these orded of Schmertmann-PMT-2,800N and Schmertmann-2,800N-PMT. As the factor($\alpha$) 4 was applied to the estimation in weathered rock, $k_h$ to the PMT was calculate as a big value. If the pile is long and the pile is surpported to the soil, Lateral displacement was in inverse proportion ratio to the value of $k_h$. But the case of shallow soil layer(early bedrock) and the short pile, Lateral displacement was affected by the behavior of socheted pile to the bedrock not by the upper soil layer.

선회다짐기를 이용한 흙의 다짐시 기술적 문제 분석 (Analysis of Technical Problem for Soil Compaction by Gyratory Compactor)

  • 현재 노상토의 특성평가를 위한 실내실험은 주로 충격다짐방법을 적용한 Proctor다짐(A다짐 또는 D다짐)이 이용되고 있다. 그러나, 현장의 경우 로울러를 이용한 압착형태의 다짐방법이 이용된다. 이러한 실내다짐방법과 현장다짐방법의 차이는 결국 실내실험으로부터 결정된 노상토의 물성치 적용시 상당한 오차를 포함함을 의미한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 선회다짐기를 이용한 흙의 다짐평가를 시행하였다. 선회다짐기는 교통하중에 의해 발생하는 아스팔트 혼합물의 현장 밀도를 실내에서 재현하기 위해 제작된 것으로 현장에서 얻어지는 골재입자의 배열과 유사하게 다진다는 장점이 있다. 하지만, 선회다짐기는 초기 아스팔트 시편 제작을 위해 설계되었기 때문에 흙의 다짐도 평가에는 몇 가지 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 선회다짐기를 이용하여 흙의 다짐시험을 할 때 발생되는 문제점을 파악하고, 그 해결방안을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 다짐압력, 다짐횟수, 다짐속도에 따른 다짐 전 후의 함수비 및 무게 차이를 비교하고, 다짐 후 함수비변화가 일어나지 않는 최대함수비를찾고, 다짐곡선 작도에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다.

연약지반 상 노상다짐 방법 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Road Compaction Method in Soft Ground)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대단위 연약지반 조성지역에서 도로를 건설할 때 노체층까지 다짐시공 후 압밀처리기 간완료에 따른 여성토를 제거하고 노상층을 시공하므로 공사비용, 시간, 현장관리 등의 문제점을 개선하고자 하였다. 노상층을 연약지반 개량 전에 선시공하여 여성고에 포함시키고 압밀침하 완료 후 선시공된 노상층의 다짐도 유지유무를 현장시험을 통하여 확인하였다. 실험결과, 제 1노상층을 제외한 모든 노상층은 일정하게 유지되었다. 따라서 제 1노상층을 제외하고 시공한다면 도로건설에서 경제적 시공성을 확보하는 것이 유리한 것으로 판단된다.

원위치 동적강성 분석기의 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation of In-situ Dynamic Stiffness Analyzer)

  • Stiffness characteristic of subgrade is one of the most important aspects for the design and evaluation of pavement and railway. However, adequate field testing methods for evaluating the stiffness characteristics of the subgrade have not been developed yet. In this study, an in-situ dynamic stiffness analyzer (IDSA) is developed to evaluate the characteristics of subgrade stiffness along the depth, and its performance is evaluated in elastic materials and a compacted soil. The IDSA consists of a falling hammer system, a connecting rod, and a tip module. Four strain gauges and an accelerometer are installed at the tip of the rod to analyze the dynamic response of the tip generated by the drop of hammer. Based on the Boussinesq's method, the stiffness and Young's modulus of the specimens can be calculated. The performance of IDSA was tested on three elastic materials with different hardness and a compacted soil. For the repeatability of test performance, the dynamic signals for force and displacement of the tip are averaged from the hammer impact tests performed five times at the same drop height. The experimental results show that the peak force, peak displacement, and the duration depend on the hardness of the elastic materials. After calculating the stiffness and elastic modulus, it is revealed that as the drop height of hammer increases, the stiffness and elastic moduli of MC nylon and the compacted soil rapidly increase, while those of urethanes less increase.

공내재하시험에 의한 포장하부기초 강성도 평가 (Evaluation of Subgrade Stiffness using Pressuremeter Test)

  • 노상 및 보조기층 등 포장하부기초의 강성도 평가를 위해 공내재하시험이 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다. 현재 국내에서 포장하부기초 강성도의 평가를 위해 사용되는 가장 실용적인 방법은 평판재하시험 (PBT)과 CBR 시험을 들 수 있다. 그러나 이 방법들은 시험법 자체가 안고있는 불합리성과 결과치의 변화가 크다는 단점으로 인해 결과의 신뢰도가 떨어진다. 주 연구에서는 공내재하시험기를 사용한 포장하부기초 강성도의 평가방법과 시험절차의 개발 가능성을 검토하였다. 개발된 시험법의 평가를 위해 현장 평판재하시험 결과와 비교하였으며 이로부터 공내재하시험 재재하 탄성계수($E_R$)와 평판재하시험 (PBT) 수직지반 반력계수 k와의 유효한 상관도를 설정할 수 있었다.

방사선측정치를 이용한 아스콘 포장 및 노상의 현장밀도와 함수비 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determination of Density and Moisture Content of Asphalt Concrete Pavement and Subgrade Using Nuclear Density Meter)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the criteria for density and moisture content measurements made with a nuclear density meter on common materials in the construction field. The study also sought to test a full-type nuclear density meter in controlling the density of overlay layers( 2.5~5.0cm). In order to determine the accuracy and reliablility of nuclear guage measurements made on construction materials, laboratory and field tests were conducted. Wooden blocks( 65 x 45 ${\times}$ 50 cm) and a special steel compactor( 4.7kg) were constructed in order to carry out tests which were conducted on three different materials; coarse gramed soil, fine grained soil, and AC material. Throughout all laboratory and field tests, the nuclear density and moisture content were determined using Humboldt 5OOLP nuclear gauge. The tests on subgrade material entailed obtaining density measurements by means of both the sand replacement method and the nuclear density meter. The results of the sand replacement method were then compared to the readings recorded bu the meter. As in the subgrade material tests, density measurements made during AC pavement tests were also determined using the unclear meter in addition to a second means; through the core method. The meter readings and core densties were compared as was done in the tests on subgrade materials. The correlation between the results of the sand replacement test( also, the core method) and meter readings on subgrade material was then determined. Sirnilarly, the observed results were then analyzed through linear regression. The tests to determine thin-lift density by means of a full-type nuclear density meter also conducted on the overlay layers( about 4. 8cm thickness) above AC pavements at road construction sities in Korea.

밀도와 구속압력이 노상토의 탄성계수에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Effects of Density and Confining Pressure on the Elastic Modulus of Subgrade Soils)

  • 본 연구에서는 밀도와 구속압력이 노상토의 탄성계수에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 전국 고속도로로 노상토를 채취분석하여 얻은 전형적인 5가지 노상토 재료에 대하여 함수비, 밀도 및 구속압력을 달리하면서 비압밀 비배수 삼축압축시험을 실시하였다. 삼축압축시험시 unloading-reloading 실험을 수행하여 얻은 응력-변형을 관계로부터 최대탄성계수를 측정하였다. 실험결과 노상토의 탄성거동은 Janbu의 제안식에 잘 부합하였으며, 구속압력으로 표준화된 탄성계수는 건조단위체적중량과 지수함수의 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 포화도가 70%이하에서는 함수비가 탄성계수에 영향을 거의 미치지 않음이 밝혀졌다.
