광릉수목원 내 산지사면에서의 토양수분 시계열 자료의 단변량 분석 (Univariate Analysis of Soil Moisture Time Series for a Hillslope Located in the KoFlux Gwangneung Supersite)

  • 토양수분은 토양으로의 침투나 지표유출 기작에 직접적인 영향을 주며 간접적으로 유역 단위의 수문학적, 수리화학적, 기상학적, 생태학적 반응에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 광릉 슈퍼사이트 내 원두부 소유역을 대상으로 사면에서의 토양수분 전이과정이 토양수분의 추계학적 모형구조와 갖는 연계성을 규명하기 위해서 일련의 유도과정이 수행되었다. 유도된 단변량 추계학적 모형의 구조에 근거하여, 관측된 토양수분의 시계열을 모의하였다. 자료전처리, 모형구조의 규명, 후보 모형군의 구성, 모수추정, 검정 등의 과정을 통해서 도출된 모형들의 공간적인 분포는 대상사면의 지형학적인 특성들이 반영된 것으로 판단된다. 다방향 알고리즘에 의한 기여면적이나 습윤 지수와 함께 대상지점의 국부경사도가 중요변수로 도출되었다. 본 연구 결과는 광릉 슈퍼사이트와 같은 복잡 경관에서 토양수분의 공간분포를 결정짓는 중요한 요인들을 이해하고 이를 통해 현실성있는 토양수분 분포 지도를 작성하는데 기여 하게 될 것이다.

토양수분지수를 이용한 유역단위 가뭄 평가 (Watershed Scale Drought Assessment using Soil Moisture Index)

  • Although the drought impacts are comparably not catastrophic, the results from the drought are fatal in various social and economical aspects. Different from other natural hazards including floods, drought advances slowly and spreads widely, so that the preparedness is quite important and effective to mitigate the impacts from drought. Soil moisture depletion directly resulted from rainfall shortage is highly related with drought, especially for crops and vegetations, therefore a drought can be evaluated using soil moisture conditions. In this study, SMI (Soil Moisture Index) was developed to measure a drought condition using soil moisture model and frequency analysis for return periods. Runs theory was applied to quantify the soil moisture depletions for the drought condition in terms of severity, magnitude and duration. In 1994, 1995, 2000, and 2001, Korea had experienced several severe droughts, so the SMI developed was applied to evaluate applicability in the mid-range hydrologic unit watershed scale. From the results, SMI demonstrated the drought conditions with a quite sensitive manner and can be used as an indicator to measure a drought condition.

봄철 SWAT 모형의 산림 토양수분과 Terra MODIS 위성영상 NDVI와의 상관성 분석 (The Correlation Analysis Between SWAT Predicted Forest Soil Moisture and MODIS NDVI During Spring Season)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify how much the MODIS NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) can explain the forest soil moisture simulated from SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model. For ChungjuDam watershed ($6,661.3\;km^2$) which covers 82.2% of forest, the SWAT model was calibrated for four years (2003-2006) at two locations of the watershed using daily streamflow data and was verified for three years (2000-2002) with average Nash and Sutcliffe model efficiencies of 0.69 and 0.75 respectively. For the period from March to June, the average spatial correlation between 16 days composite MODIS NDVI and the corresponding SWAT forest soil moisture was 0.90. The two variables averaged for each data set during that period showed an inverse relation with the average coefficient of determination of 0.55.

Development of Crop Growth Model under Different Soil Moisture Status

  • It is necessary to maintain stable crop productions under the unsuitable environments, because the drought and flood may be frequently caused by the global warming. Therefore, it is agent to improve the crop growth model corresponded to soil moisture status. Chili pepper (Capsicum annuum) is one of the useful crop in Asia, and then it is affected by change of precipitation in consequence drought and flood occur however crop model to evaluate water stresses on chili pepper is not enough yet. In this study, development of crop model under different soil moisture status was attempted. The experiment was conducted on the slope fields in the greenhouse. The water level was kept at 20cm above the bottom of the container. Habanero (C. chinense) was used as material for crop model. Sap bleeding rate, SPAD value, chlorophyll content, stomatal conductance, leaf water potential, plant height, leaf area and shoot dry weight were measured at 10 days after treatment (DAT) and 13 DAT. Moreover, temperature and RH in the greenhouse, soil volume water contents (VWC) and soil water potential were measured. As a result, VWC showed 4.0% at the driest plot and 31.4% at the wettest plot at 13 DAT. The growth model was calculated using WVC and the growth analysis parameters. It was considered available, because its coefficient of determination showed 0.84 and there are significant relationship based on plants physiology among the parameters and the changes over time. Furthermore, we analyzed the important factors for higher accuracy prediction using multiple regression analysis.

Modeling Infiltration and Redistribution for Multistorm Runoff Events

  • Infiltration and water flow in the upper soil layer of a deep water table aquifer are modeled for multistorm runoff events. The infiltration process is developed using the sharp wetting front model of Green and Ampt, and the following redistribution process is modeled using the gravity drained rectangular approximation. The Brooks-Corey model [Brooks and Corey, 1966] is adopted to relate the effective soil saturation, the tension head, and the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity Firstly, the infiltration and redistribution model is developed for a single stom runoff event. Then a couple of events combined for multistorm runoff events. In the later case, infiltration rate of the second rainfall is strongly influenced by the length of the rainfall hiatus and soil moisture profile.

  • The objective of this study was to develop a real-time soil moisture meter using RF impedance. The impedance suchas capacitance and resistance (or conductance) was analyzed using parallel cylinder type capacitance probe(C-probe) and Q-meter (HP4342). The capacitance and conductance of soil increased as volumetric water content increased. The 5 MHz of modified Colpitts type crystal oscillator was designed to detect the capacitance change of the C-probe with moist soil. A third order polynomial regression model was proposed to describe the relationship between RF impedance and volumetric water content. The prototype real time moisture meter consisted of the C-probe, sample container, oscillator, frequency counter and related signal processing units. The calibration equation for measurement of volumetric moisture content of soil was developed and validated. The correlation coefficient and root mean square error between measured volumetric water content by oven method and predicted values by prototype moisture meter for unknown soil samples were 0.984 and 0.032$cm^3$$cm\^3$, respectively.

The use of the semi-empirical method to establish a damping model for tire-soil system

  • This paper proposes a linear damping model of tire-soil system using semi-empirical method. A test rig was designed and developed to measure the vertical equivalent linear damping ratio of tire only and tire-soil system using Free-Vibration Logarithmic Decay Method. The test was performed with two kinds of tractor tires using a combination of five inflation pressure levels, two soil depths and four soil moisture contents in the paddy soil. The results revealed that the linear damping ratio of tires increased with decreasing tire inflation pressure; the linear damping ratio of tire-soil system also increased with decreasing tire inflation pressure and increased with the increasing soil depth (observed at 80 and 120 mm). It also increased with a relative increase of soil moisture contents (observed at 37.9%, 48.8%, 66.7% and 77.4%). The results also indicated that the damping ratio of tire-soil system was higher than that of tire only. A linear damping model of tire-soil system is proposed as a damping model in parallel which is established based on experimental results and vibration theory. This model will have a great significance in study of tractor vibration.

분포형 유역 일유출 모형의 개발 및 적용성 검토 (Development of a Grid-based Daily Watershed Runoff Model and the Evaluation of Its Applicability)

  • 본 연구에서는 GIS 공간자료(수치표고모델, 토지이용도, 토양도)와 Terra MODIS(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) 위성영상에 의한 식생활력도를 이용하여 유역의 일단위 유출량을 모의하는 격자기반의 분포형 일유출 모형을 개발하고 그 적용성을 평가하였다. 모형은 격자단위로 지표유출, 중간유출 및 기저유출, 증발산량 그리고 토양수분의 시간적 변화와 공간적 분포를 모의할 수 있다. 모형은 크게 유출, 증발산, 토양수분의 3개 주요모듈로 구성하였다. 유출은 강우전의 토양수분을 추적하여 지표하 저류능을 계산하므로서, 총 유출체적에서 각 유출량을 배분하는 감수곡선을 도입하여 모의하도록 하였으며, 증발산은 MODIS 엽면적지수(Leaf Area Index; LAI)를 고려한 Penman-Monteith 증발산량을 산정하도록 하였다. 매일의 토양수분은 전일의 토양수분에서 당일의 유출량과 증발산량을 계산하는 물수지 방정식을 이용하여 추적하도록 하였다. 이 모형에 대한 적용성 평가는 유역면적 930 $km^2$의 용담댐 유역을 대상으로 수행하였다. 공간해상도를 1 km로 맞춘 GIS 입력자료(토지피복도, 토양도, 경계자료 등)와 RS 입력자료(LAI)를 구축하였으며, 2000년부터 2008년까지의 기상자료를 수집하여 IDW 방법으로 공간분포화 하여 모형에 적용하였다. 검보정은 유역 출구 지점의 유출량 자료를 모의치와 비교하여 수행되었고, 보정결과에 따른 모형의 적합성과 상관성을 판단하기 위한 목적함수로는 결정계수($R^2$)와 평균제곱근오차 (RMSE : Root Mean Square Error)를 사용하였으며, 모형의 효율성 검증을 위해 Nash와 Sutcliffe(1970)가 제안한 모형 효율성 계수를 사용하였다. 유출량에 대한 Nash-Sutcliffe 모형효율은 0.78~0.93로 모의치가 실측치의 경향을 잘 표현하는 것으로 나타났다. 유출량 분포도는 강우와 토양에 매우 민감하게 모의 되었다.

신경망기법과 보조 자료를 사용한 원격측정 토양수분자료의 Downscaling기법 개발 (Development a Downscaling Method of Remotely-Sensed Soil Moisture Data Using Neural Networks and Ancillary Data)

  • 국내에서 예상되는 물부족 현상을 극복하기 위해서는 수문 현상의 이해를 통한 수자원의 안정된 확보, 관리, 개발 등 수자원 관련 기술격의 발전이 필수적이라 하겠다. 물순환계통의 올바른 이해와 적합한 모형의 개발 및 검증을 위해서는 강우 및 토양수분의 대규모 원격측정이 필수적일 뿐 아니라 관측 격자 내에서 일어나는 변화도에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 가까운 장래에 예상되는 전구 관측 토양수분자료의 격자크기인 10km는 중ㆍ소규모 지역의 수문ㆍ기상모델 적용에 한계를 가진다. 목적에 따라 각 모델들이 필요로 하는 입력 자료의 격자크기가 다른 반면 각 모델에 대한 적합한 크기의 격자를 가진 다양한 입력 자료의 부재는 토양수분자료에 대한 적합한 downscaling 기법을 필요로 한다. 사용 가능한 보조 자료와 토양수분의 선형상관관계는 상당히 낮으므로 이들 상호관계를 선형관계의 합으로 나타내는데 한계를 가진다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 physically-based 분리기법과 자료들 간의 비선형 상관관계를 나타내는데 적합한 신경망 기법을 이용한 downscaling 기법을 개발하였다. 개발된 downscaling 기법은 Washita'92 실험으로부터 획득된 토양수분 및 보조 자료를 사용하여 4km자료를 0.2km자료로 downscaling 하였으며 출력자료는 기존의 전형적 기법에 의하여 smoothing된 자료보다 개선된 결과를 보여주었다.

지리정보시스템과 토양수분모형을 이용한 농업가뭄분석 (Agricultural Drought Analysis using Soil Water Balance Model and Geographic Information System)

  • Drought is a serious diaster in agriculutre, especially to upland crops. Hence, the Agricultural Drought Analysis Model (ADAM) that is integratable with GIS was applied to analyae agriculture drought in upland. ADAM is composed of two sub-models , one is a Soil Water Balance Model (SWBM) and the other is a Drougth Analysis Model (DAM) that is based on the Runs theory. The ADAM needs weather data, rainfall data and soil physical characteristics data as input and calculates daily soil moisture contents. GIS was integrated to the ADAM for the calculation of regional soil moisture using digitized landuse map, detaile dsoil map, thiessen network and district boundary . For the agriculutral drought analysis, the ADAM adapt the Runs theory for analyzing drought duration, severity and magnitude . Log-Pearson Type-III probability distribution function and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test were used to test the fitness of good of the model. The integration of ADAM with GIS was successfully implemented and would be operated effectively for the regional drought analysis.
