  • 최근 컴퓨터 기술의 발전과 네트워크의 개방화 그리고 무선 모바일 통신 기술의 비약적인 보급으로 인하여 컴퓨팅 환경을 이루고 있는 각종 장치(PC, 모바일 단말, 저장장치, 네트워크 기기 등)가 다양한 형태의 보안 위협에 노출되어 데이터의 유실, 조작, 유출되어 금전적인 피해를 입거나 프라이버시 침해를 받고 있다. 이러한 문제를 근본적으로 해소하기 위하여 설립된 TCG(Trusted Computing Group)는 세계적인 IT 핵심기업들을 중심으로 구성된 비영리 단체로서 PC 혹은 모바일 기기 등의 단말과 서버 장비 그리고 저장 장치 및 네트워크로 구성된 컴퓨팅 환경에서 보안성 향상 및 데이터의 신뢰성을 제고하기 위하여 TPM(Trusted Platform Module)이라는 반도체 칩을 신뢰의 기반(root of trust)으로 한 신뢰 플랫폼을 제안하고 있다. 한편 SaaS(Software as a Service)는 패키지 형태의 소프트웨어를 네트워크 서비스 형태로 바꾸어 사용량에 비례한 요금제로 과금하는 방식을 채택하고 사용자가 온디맨드로 요청한 서비스를 적시에 제공하는 기술로 최근 전세계적으로 각광을 받고 있다. 이때 다양한 컴퓨팅 환경 안의 사용자에게 높은 신뢰성과 보안성 그리고 연속성을 갖는 SaaS 서비스를 제공하고 데이터의 무결성 및 비밀유지와 정확한 서비스 사용시간을 기록하고 업로드하는 기능들을 제공하는 SaaS 플랫폼은 TPM기반의 신뢰컴퓨팅 기술을 통하여 쉽게 구현될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 일시적으로 네트워크와 차단된 상태의 PC 혹은 모바일 단말에서도 위의 조건들을 만족하는 SaaS 서비스를 지원하는 신뢰 플랫폼이 가져야 할 기능들에 대하여 분석-도출한 후 그러한 기능들을 제공하는 컴포넌트로 구성된 신뢰형 SaaS 사용자 플랫폼을 설계하였다.

Performance Metrics for EJB Applications (EJB 어플리게이션의 성능 메트릭)

  • Due to the emersion of J2EE(Java 2, Enterprise Edition), many enterprises inside and outside of the country have been developing the enterprise applications appropriate to the J2EE model. With the help of the component model of Enterprise Java Beans(EJH) which is the J2EE core technology, we can develop the distributed object applications quite simple. EJB application can be implemented by using the component-oriented object transaction middleware and the most applications utilize the distributed transaction. EJB developers can concentrate on the business logic because the EJB server covers the middleware service. Due to these characteristics, EJB technology became popular and then the study for EJB based application has been done quite actively However, the research of metrics for measuring the performance during run-time of the EJB applications has not been done enough. Tn this paper, we explore the workflow for the EJB application service on the run-time and classify the internal operation into several elements. We propose the metrics for evaluating the performance up to the bean level by using the classified elements. First, we analyze the lifecycle according to the bean types which comes from the EJB application on the run-time as to extract each factor used in performance measurement. We also find factors related to a performance and allocate the Performance factors to the metrics as the bean types. We also consider the characteristics like the bean's activation and message passing which happens during bean message call and then analyze the relations of the beans participating in the workflow of the application to make the workflow performance measurement possible. And we devise means to bring performance enhancement of the EJB application using the propose.

Residual Life Assessment of mod HP Reformer Tubes Using Surface Replication Methods (표면복제를 사용한 mod HP강 개질로 튜브의 잔여수명 평가에 대한 연구)

  • Residual life assessment of reformer tubes of mod HP steel used in the refinery and petrochemical industry were investigated by quantitative metallographic evaluation method. Area fractions of precipitated carbides were measured by using surface replication and its relationship with the remaining life of the tube was investigated. The microstructures of the virgin and other tubes were examined using optical microscopy (OM) for service periods of 1.8, 6.0, 7.2, 8.5, 9.7, and 16.2 years at 950 ℃ and the area fractions of the precipitates were measured by image analysis using ImageJ software. As the area fraction of the precipitates increased, the residual life was decreased accordingly. The results showed that the LMP was the highest in the virgin and the LMP decreased as the service time increased and the residual life decreased. A regressional equation showing the relation between the area fraction of carbides and LMP was experimentally derived. The obtained relationship can be used with the surface replication method for on-site residual life assessment.

Quality Assessment of Tropospheric Delay Estimated by Precise Point Positioning in the Korean Peninsula

  • Over the last decade, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been increasingly utilized as a meteorological research tool. The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) has also been developing a near real-time GNSS precipitable water vapor (PWV) information management system that can produce a precise PWV for the Korean Peninsula region using GNSS data processing and meteorological measurements. The goal of this paper is to evaluate whether the precise point positioning (PPP) strategy will be used as the new data processing strategy of the GNSS-PWV information management system. For this purpose, quality assessment has been performed by means of a comparative analysis of the troposphere zenith total delay (ZTD) estimates from KASI PPP solutions (KPS), KASI network solutions (KNS), and International GNSS Service (IGS) final troposphere products (IFTP) for ten permanent GNSS stations in the Korean Peninsula. The assessment consists largely of two steps: First, the troposphere ZTD of the KNS are compared to those of the IFTP for only DAEJ and SUWN, in which the IFTP are used as the reference. Second, the KPS are compared to the KNS for all ten GNSS stations. In this step, the KNS are used as a new reference rather than the IFTP, because it was proved in the previous step that the KNS can be a suitable reference. As a result, it was found that the ZTD values from both the KPS and the KNS followed the same overall pattern, with an RMS of 5.36 mm. When the average RMS was converted into an error of GNSS-PWV by considering the typical ratio of zenith wet delay and PWV, the GNSS-PWV error met the requirement for PWV accuracy in this application. Therefore, the PPP strategy can be used as a new data processing strategy in the near real-time GNSS-PWV information management system.

Design and Implementation of Transmission Scheduler for Terrestrial UHD Contents (지상파 UHD 콘텐츠 전송 스케줄러 설계 및 구현)

  • In order to provide 8K UHD contents of terrestrial broadcasting with a large capacity, the terrestrial broadcasting system has various problems such as limited bandwidth and so on. To solve these problems, UHD contents transmission technology has been actively studied, and an 8K UHD broadcasting system using terrestrial broadcasting network and communication network has been proposed. The proposed technique is to solve the limited bandwidth problem of terrestrial broadcasting network by segmenting 8K UHD contents and transmitting them to heterogeneous networks through hierarchical separation. Through the terrestrial broadcasting network, the base layer corresponding to FHD and the additional enhancement layer data for 4K UHD are transmitted, and the additional enhancement layer data corresponding to 8K UHD is transmitted through the communication network. When 8K UHD contents are provided in such a way, user can receive up to 4K UHD broadcasting by terrestrial channels, and also can receive up to 8K UHD additional communication networks. However, in order to transmit the 4K UHD contents within the allocated bit rate of the domestic terrestrial UHD broadcasting, the compression rate is increased, so a certain level of image deterioration occurs inevitably. Due to the nature of UHD contents, video quality should be considered as a top priority over other factors, so that video quality should be guaranteed even within a limited bit rate. This requires packet scheduling of content generators in the broadcasting system. Since the multiplexer sends out the packets received from the content generator in order, it is very important to make the transmission time and the transmission rate of the process from the content generator to the multiplexer constant and accurate. Therefore, we propose a variable transmission scheduler between the content generator and the multiplexer to guarantee the image quality of a certain level of UHD contents in this paper.

The Effects of Emotional Intelligence on the Customer Orientation and Customer Relationship Management Performance of Hotel Employees (호텔기업 종업원의 감성지능이 고객지향성과 CRM성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - This study aimed to (a) investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on customer orientation, (b) examine the impact of customer orientation on customer relationship management (CRM) performance (including CRM-related variables such as 'relationship commitment,' 'image of corporation,' and 'customer loyalty'), and (c) identify the conceptual framework of emotional intelligence. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected using a questionnaire given to a sample of employees of luxury hotels in the metropolitan area. To test the hypotheses, AMOS were conducted for the 271 respondents of the sample using the SPSS Win 17.0 software. The concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has been on the radar of many leaders and managers over the past few decades. Emotional intelligence is generally accepted to be a combination of emotional and interpersonal competencies that influence behavior, thoughts, and interactions with others. Emotional intelligence consists of four factors: understanding the self's emotion, understanding other people's emotions, emotion utilization, and emotion control. Understanding the self's emotion means to understand of my own emotions. Understanding other people's emotions is to understand of the emotions of the people around me and to know how my friends feel based on their behavior. The concept of emotion utilization means to set goals for myself and then try to achieve them, encouraging myself to do my best. The concept of emotion control means I can control my temper, handle difficult situations rationally, and calm down quickly when I am very angry. Results - As a result of the analysis, three factors (understanding the self's emotion, understanding of other people's emotions, and emotion utilization) were shown to have a significant effect on customer orientation. Emotion control had an insignificant effect on customer orientation. Only emotion control makes it difficult to solve customers' problems because it is a passive behavior. In order to solve the customers' problems, hotel employees have to show a positive attitude. Second, customer orientation had a significant effect on customer relationship management performance (customer relationship commitment, corporate image, and customer loyalty). In other words, customer orientation increases commitment to customer relationships. For example, employees who have a customer-orientated perspective provide good service to their customers, while employees who don't have a customer-orientated perspective can't satisfy their customers. Customer orientation can also generate a good image among customers, because they evaluate the image of a hotel through the behavior of hotel employees. So it is very important for employees to show excellent customer orientation. Conclusions - It is very important for hotel CEOs to manage their employees' emotional intelligence. In order to increase their employees' emotional intelligence abilities, CEOs have to manage the overall corporate culture and reward programs to achieve what they want. This is because the system can lead to a customer-orientated mind-set and CRM performance among employees. As a result, the hotel CEO has to pay attention to the emotional intelligence of employees to achieve strong CRM performance. The sentence as originally written was a bit unclear.   • This study was conducted to develop a customized severity-adjustment method and to evaluate their validity for acute myocardial infarction(AMI) patients to complement the limitations of the existing severity-adjustment method for comorbidities. For this purpose, the subjects of KCD-7 code I20.0 ~ I20.9, which is the main diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction were extracted using the Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury survey data from 2006 to 2015. Three tools were used for severity-adjustment method of comorbidities : CCI (charlson comorbidity index), ECI (Elixhauser comorbidity index) and the newly proposed CCS (Clinical Classification Software). The results showed that CCS was the best tool for the severity correction, and that support vector machine model was the most predictable. Therefore, we propose the use of the customized method of severity correction and machine learning techniques from this study for the future research on severity adjustment such as assessment of results of medical service.

NFT(Non-Fungible Token) Patent Trend Analysis using Topic Modeling

  • In this paper, we propose an analysis of recent trends in the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) industry using topic modeling techniques, focusing on their universal application across various industrial fields. For this study, patent data was utilized to understand industry trends. We collected data on 371 domestic and 454 international NFT-related patents registered in the patent information search service KIPRIS from 2017, when the first NFT standard was introduced, to October 2023. In the preprocessing stage, stopwords and lemmas were removed, and only noun words were extracted. For the analysis, the top 50 words by frequency were listed, and their corresponding TF-IDF values were examined to derive key keywords of the industry trends. Next, Using the LDA algorithm, we identified four major latent topics within the patent data, both domestically and internationally. We analyzed these topics and presented our findings on NFT industry trends, underpinned by real-world industry cases. While previous review presented trends from an academic perspective using paper data, this study is significant as it provides practical trend information based on data rooted in field practice. It is expected to be a useful reference for professionals in the NFT industry for understanding market conditions and generating new items.

The Relationship between Internet Search Volumes and Stock Price Changes: An Empirical Study on KOSDAQ Market (개별 기업에 대한 인터넷 검색량과 주가변동성의 관계: 국내 코스닥시장에서의 산업별 실증분석)

  • As the internet has become widespread and easy to access everywhere, it is common for people to search information via online search engines such as Google and Naver in everyday life. Recent studies have used online search volume of specific keyword as a measure of the internet users' attention in order to predict disease outbreaks such as flu and cancer, an unemployment rate, and an index of a nation's economic condition, and etc. For stock traders, web search is also one of major information resources to obtain data about individual stock items. Therefore, search volume of a stock item can reflect the amount of investors' attention on it. The investor attention has been regarded as a crucial factor influencing on stock price but it has been measured by indirect proxies such as market capitalization, trading volume, advertising expense, and etc. It has been theoretically and empirically proved that an increase of investors' attention on a stock item brings temporary increase of the stock price and the price recovers in the long run. Recent development of internet environment enables to measure the investor attention directly by the internet search volume of individual stock item, which has been used to show the attention-induced price pressure. Previous studies focus mainly on Dow Jones and NASDAQ market in the United States. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the individual investors' attention measured by the internet search volumes and stock price changes of individual stock items in the KOSDAQ market in Korea, where the proportion of the trades by individual investors are about 90% of the total. In addition, we examine the difference between industries in the influence of investors' attention on stock return. The internet search volume of stocks were gathered from "Naver Trend" service weekly between January 2007 and June 2015. The regression model with the error term with AR(1) covariance structure is used to analyze the data since the weekly prices in a stock item are systematically correlated. The market capitalization, trading volume, the increment of trading volume, and the month in which each trade occurs are included in the model as control variables. The fitted model shows that an abnormal increase of search volume of a stock item has a positive influence on the stock return and the amount of the influence varies among the industry. The stock items in IT software, construction, and distribution industries have shown to be more influenced by the abnormally large internet search volume than the average across the industries. On the other hand, the stock items in IT hardware, manufacturing, entertainment, finance, and communication industries are less influenced by the abnormal search volume than the average. In order to verify price pressure caused by investors' attention in KOSDAQ, the stock return of the current week is modelled using the abnormal search volume observed one to four weeks ahead. On average, the abnormally large increment of the search volume increased the stock return of the current week and one week later, and it decreased the stock return in two and three weeks later. There is no significant relationship with the stock return after 4 weeks. This relationship differs among the industries. An abnormal search volume brings particularly severe price reversal on the stocks in the IT software industry, which are often to be targets of irrational investments by individual investors. An abnormal search volume caused less severe price reversal on the stocks in the manufacturing and IT hardware industries than on average across the industries. The price reversal was not observed in the communication, finance, entertainment, and transportation industries, which are known to be influenced largely by macro-economic factors such as oil price and currency exchange rate. The result of this study can be utilized to construct an intelligent trading system based on the big data gathered from web search engines, social network services, and internet communities. Particularly, the difference of price reversal effect between industries may provide useful information to make a portfolio and build an investment strategy.

A Mobile Payment System Based-on an Automatic Random-Number Generation in the Virtual Machine (VM의 자동 변수 생성 방식 기반 모바일 지급결제 시스템)

  • A mobile phone has became as a payment tool in e-commerce and on-line banking areas. This trend of a payment system using various types of mobile devices is rapidly growing, especially in the Internet transaction and small-money payment. Hence, there will be a need to define its standard for secure and safe payment technology. In this thesis, we consider the service types of the current mobile payments and the authentication method, investigate the disadvantages, problems and their solutions for smart and secure payment. Also, we propose a novel authentication method which is easily adopted without modification and addition of the existed mobile hardware platform. Also, we present a simple implementation as a demonstration version. Based on virtual machine (VM) approach, the proposed model is to use a pseudo-random number which is confirmed by the VM in a user's mobile phone and then is sent to the authentication site. This is more secure and safe rather than use of a random number received by the previous SMS. For this payment operation, a user should register the serial number at the first step after downloading the VM software, by which can prevent the illegal payment use by a mobile copy-phone. Compared with the previous SMS approach, the proposed method can reduce the amount of packet size to 30% as well as the time. Therefore, the VM-based method is superior to the previous approaches in the viewpoint of security, packet size and transaction time.
