  • PV cell modeling is necessary both for software and hardware simulators in analyzing and testing the performance of PV generation systems. Unique I-V curve of a PV cell identifies its own characteristics by electrical equivalent model that is composed of diode constants ($I_o$, $v_t$), photo-generated current ($I_{ph}$), series resistance ($R_s$), and shunt resistance ($R_{sh}$). Photo-generated current can be easily estimated since it is proportional to irradiation level. However, other electrical parameters should be solved from the manufacturer's data sheet that is consisted with three remarkable operating points such as open circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$), short circuit current ($I_{sc}$), and maximum power voltage/current ($V_{MPP}/I_{MPP}$). This paper explains and analyzes mathematical process of a novel PV cell modeling algorithm that was proposed by the authors with the name of "K-algorithm".

  • Photovoltaic(PV) power generation system [1-2] has been extensively studied and watched with keen interest as a clean and renewable power source. So hardware and software studies strongly indicate the feasibility of commercially producing a low cost, user-friendly solar cell curve tracer. Generally, V-I curve tracer indicates only the commonly used solar cell parameters. However, with the conventional V-I curve tracer it is almost impossible to abstract the more detail parameters of solar cell ; A, Rs, and Rsh, which satisfies the user, who aims at the analysis of the development PV power generation system; advanced simulation. In this paper, the proposed method gives us the satisfactory results to abstract the detail parameters of solar cell ; A, Rs, and Rsh

  • In this paper, an investigation of factors affecting piezoelectric transformers is presented by ATILA software. These transformers are multi-layer piezoelectric transformers in square shape $28\;{\times}\;28\;mm$ and operate in first vibration mode for step-down function. The piezoelectric transformers were modeled in 3D-dimension and analyzed using finite element method in ATILA software, a popular software in piezoelectric analysis. Modal and harmonic modules were used in this process. Effective factors to the properties of piezoelectric transformers including different input electrode patterns, directions of polarization, sizes of connective comer, number of layers were examined on the simulated model using input voltage of 20 V and load resistance of $100\;{\Omega}$. Moreover, thermal analysis was also obtained with conditions of input voltage of 5 V and no-load.

  • With the increasing amount of splicing images, many detection schemes of splicing images are proposed. In this paper, a splicing detection scheme for color image based on the quaternion discrete cosine transform (QDCT) is proposed. Firstly, the proposed quaternion Markov features are extracted in QDCT domain. Secondly, the proposed quaternion Markov features consist of global and local quaternion Markov, which utilize both magnitude and three phases to extract Markov features by using two different ways. In total, 2916-D features are extracted. Finally, the support vector machine (SVM) is used to detect the splicing images. In our experiments, the accuracy of the proposed scheme reaches 99.16% and 97.52% in CASIA TIDE v1.0 and CASIA TIDE v2.0, respectively, which exceeds that of the existing schemes.

  • An optimal process design of a foreign protein production system was carried out using a bioprocess flowsheeting software, BioPro Designer, with a capability of economic analysis. The flowsheeting program was applied to a production system of the tailspike protein of Salmonella phage P22, and helped save time and efforts in selecting an optimal process. A wild type tailspike and two types of mutant tailspikes, tsf G244\longrightarrow,R and Su A334\longrightarrowV, were considered in this study to show that the folding characteristics of foreign protein produced inside host influenced the selection of the best production system. An optimal production system for mature tailspike was chosen under the criterion of capital investment per unit mass of mature protein recovered.

  • In surgery to remove pancreatic cancer, it is important to figure out the shape of a patient's pancreas. However, previous studies have a limit to detect a pancreas automatically in abdominal CT images, because the pancreas varies in shape, size and location by patient. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method of learning various shapes of pancreas according to the patients and adjacent slices using Faster R-CNN based on Inception V2, and automatically detecting the pancreas from abdominal CT images. Model training and testing were performed using the NIH Pancreas-CT Dataset, and intensity normalization was applied to all data to improve pancreatic detection accuracy. Additionally, according to the shape of the pancreas, the test dataset was classified into top, middle, and bottom slices to evaluate the model's performance on each data. The results show that the top data's mAP@.50IoU achieved 91.7% and the bottom data's mAP@.50IoU achieved 95.4%, and the highest performance was the middle data's mAP@.50IoU, 98.5%. Thus, we have confirmed that the model can accurately detect the pancreas in CT images.

  • Software product line engineering is a method that prepares for the future reuse and supports to seamless reuse in application development process. Commonality and variability play central roles in all product line development processes. Reusable assets will become core assets by explicitly representing C&V. Indeed, the variabilities that art identified at each phase of core assets development have different levels of abstraction. In the past, these variabilities have been handled in an implicit manner and without distinguishing the characteristics of each core assets. In addition, previous approaches have depended on the experience and intuition of a domain expert to recognize commonality and variability. In this paper, we suggest a 2-dimensional analyzing method that analyzes the variabilities of core assets in software product line. In horizontal analysis process, the variation types are analyzed in requirements, architecture, and component that are produced at each phase of development process. In vertical analysis process, variations are analyzed in different abstract levels, in which the region of commonality is identified and the variation points are refined. By this method, the traceability of variations between core assets will be possible and core assets can be reused seamlessly.

  • Recently, as the introduction of cloud, mobile, and IoT has become active, there is a growing need for technology development that can supplement the limitations of traditional security solutions based on fixed perimeters such as firewalls and Network Access Control (NAC). In response to this, SDP (Software Defined Perimeter) has recently emerged as a new base technology. Unlike existing security technologies, SDP can sets security boundaries (install Gateway S/W) regardless of the location of the protected resources (servers, IoT gateways, etc.) and neutralize most of the network-based hacking attacks that are becoming increasingly sofiscated. In particular, SDP is regarded as a security technology suitable for the cloud and IoT fields. In this study, a new access control system was proposed by combining SDP and hash tree-based large-scale data high-speed signature technology. Through the process authentication function using large-scale data high-speed signature technology, it prevents the threat of unknown malware intruding into the endpoint in advance, and implements a kernel-level security technology that makes it impossible for user-level attacks during the backup and recovery of major data. As a result, endpoint security, which is a weak part of SDP, has been strengthened. The proposed system was developed as a prototype, and the performance test was completed through a test of an authorized testing agency (TTA V&V Test). The SDP-based access control solution is a technology with high potential that can be used in smart car security.
