  • A heat-treatment method of pre-annealing and then flash annealing(FA) has been used to improve the soft magnetic properties of nanocrystalline $Fe_{76}CuSi_{13}B_{10}$ and $Fe_{74}CuNb_{3}Si_{12}B_{10}$ alloys. Outstanding magnetic properties of nanocrystalline $Fe_{74}CuNb_{3}Si_{12}B_{10}$ alloy were attained by flash-annealing in air after annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ for 0.5hr below the crystallization temperature. The same results were obtained for $Fe_{74}CuSi_{13}B_{10}$ alloy. The measurment of relief of stress and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze the effect of flashannealing.

  • Magnetic CoW thin film alloys were electrodeposited from citrate baths to investigate the resulting microstructure and magnetic properties. Deposit tungsten (W) content in the films electrodeposited at $70^{\circ}C$ were independent of current density, while coercivity decreased from hard $(H_{c,//}\~150\;Oe\;and\;H_{c.{\bot}}\;\~240\;Oe)$ to soft magnetic properties $(H_{c,//}\~20\;Oe\;and\;H_{c.{\bot}}\;\~30\;Oe)$ with increasing current densities from $10\;to\;100mA{\cdot}cm^2$, with deposit W content $(\~40\%)$ relatively unaffected by the applied current density. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that hcp $Co_3W$ phases [(200), (201) and (220) planes] in the CoW films electrodeposited at $70^{\circ}C\;and\;10mA{\cdot}cm^{-2}$ were dominant, whereas amorphous CoW phases with small amount of hcp $Co_3W$ [(002) planes] were dominant with deposition at $70^{\circ}C\;and\;100mA{\cdot}cm^{-2}$. At intermediate current densities $(25\;and\;50mA{\cdot}cm^{-2}),\;hop\;Co_3W$ phases [(200), (002), (201) and (220)] were observed. The average grain size was measured to be 30 nm from Sheller formula. It is suggested that the change of the deposit coercivities in the CoW thin films electrodeposited at $70^{\circ}C$ is attributed to the change of microstructures with varying the current density. Nanostructured $Co_3W/amorphous-CoW$ multilayers were fabricated by alternating current density between 10 and $100 mA{\cdot}cm^{-2}$, varying the individual layer thickness. The magnetic properties of $Co_3W/amorphous-CoW$ multilayers were strongly dependent on the thickness of the alternating hard and soft magnetic thin films. The nanostructured $Co_3W/amorphous-CoW$ multilayers exhibited a shift from low to high coercivities suggesting a strong coupling effect.

  • The influences of Gallium doping on the magnetic microstructures and corrosion behaviors of Nd-Fe-B-Ti-C alloys are investigated. The cooling rate for obtaining fully amorphous structure is raised, and the glassforming ability is improved by the Ga addition. The High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy image shows that the ${\alpha}$-Fe and $Fe_3B$ soft magnetic phases become granular surrounded by the $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ hard magnetic phase. The rms and $({\Delta}{\varphi})_{rms}$ value of Nd-Fe-B-Ti-C nanocomposite alloy thick ribbons in the typical topographic and magnetic force images detected by Magnetic Force Microscopy(MFM) decreases with 0.5 at% Ga addition. The corrosion resistances of $Nd_9Fe_{73}B_{12.6}C_{1.4}Ti_{4-x}Ga_x$ (x = 0, 0.5, 1) alloys are enhanced by the Ga addition. It can be attributed to the formation of more amorphous phases in the Ga doped samples.

  • The soft magnetic properties of Co-based amorphous alloy have been studied as a function of cooling condition after annealing. The F&W treatment (furnace cooling to 25$0^{\circ}C$ then water quenching) could increase 60~10$0^{\circ}C$ more the initial permeability than those of furnace cooled or water quenched alloys. These results are investigated in terms of thermal stress and ordering of magnetic ion pairs.

  • The present paper is to investigate the phase stability and soft magnetic properties of amorphous CoNbZr films when Pd is added as a substitution for CoNbZr alloys. The films were prepared by a RF magnetron sputtering method. The CoNbZrPd films deposited on Si wafers exhibited amorphous structures being independent upon the amount of Pd added in the films. On the addition of 4.34% Pd, the excellent soft magnetic characteristics of the films were observed with a coercive force of 0.54 Oe and an anisotropy field of 11 Oe, whereas a coercive force of 1 Oe and an anisotropy field of 3.5 Oe were shown in the film without the addition of Pd. The increased anisotropy field and low coercive force of the films may be attributed to the occupancy of Pd in the preferred sites parallel to the external magnetic field applied on the deposition process. A permeability of about 1100 was kept constant in the operation frequency ranging up to 100 MHz, which can be explained by the Landau-Lifshitz formula.

  • In this paper the magnetic field properties of the soft magnetic alloys (Fe-Si-Cr and Fe-Ni-Cr) are studied in advance for the development of electro-magnetic shielding films, which could be used in the IT Devices (NFC, mobile phone, computer, etc.).As a result each of the selected soft magnetic alloy melts of the corresponding compositions is water-dispersed into the disk-shaped grains, which are soaked in polymer resin, and of which two types of thin film of thickness 0.1mm and 1mm are made by passing through the heating calendar roller. And the magnetic permeability and the shielding effectiveness of the polymer films containing the soft magnetic alloy grains are measured over the whole frequency bands from the low frequency to 10GHz. Before the experiments of the soft magnetic alloy, a special equation is proposed to estimate the permeability of the alloy, and the equation is verified with the pre-published data by MATLAB, and from which the most optimal compositions can be decided. And the SE(Shielding Effectiveness) of the polymer films containing the soft magnetic alloy grains is simulated by the HFSS.

  • Various compositions of CoFeNi alloys have been electrodeposited in chloride bath and in sulfate bath, and evaluated for electrodeposition characteristics and magnetic properties. For electrodeposited CoFeNi thin film alloys, the increase of Fe content in the deposits from sulfate bath was considerably faster than those from chloride bath. The current efficiencies in sulfate bath showed observable decrease from $75\%\;to\;50\%$ while those in chloride bath showed no significant decrease. From the low coercivity of 3 Oe in the minimum and the higher squarenesses of the alloys from sulfate bath than those from chloride bath, the alloy at Co, Fe, and Ni contents of $80wt.\%,\;10wt.\%,\;and\;10wt.\%$ can be considered to be the best CoFeNi alloy in this research for the soft magnetic material.

  • The magnetoimpedance of $Fe_{91.5-x}Zr_7B_xCu_1Al_{0.5}$alloys has been measured to investigate the influence of structural changes in the nanocrystallization process after thermal treatment. Annealing was performed at temperatures of $350^\circ{C}$, $450^\circ{C}$, and $550^\circ{C}$ for 1 hour in a vacuum. Ultra soft magnetic behavior was observed in the samples annealed at $550^\circ{C}$. The magnetoimpedance ratio and the longitudinal permeability ratio coincided with the softness of the magnetic properties of the thermally treated samples.
