연질캅셀제중 수용성 비타민의 젤라틴층 이행에 관한 연구 (Migration of Water-Soluble Vitamins into Gelatin Layer of Soft Capsules)

  • The previous vitamin assays in soft capsules have been performed only with capsule contents. Since some vitamins, however, could migrate into gelatin layer of the soft capsules, each vitamin of multivitamin soft capsules in the market was analyzed simultaneously in both capsule content and gelatin layer. The results showed that migrations of nicotinamide and pyridoxine hydrochloride into gelatin layer were pronounced, while those of other vitamins were negligible.

  • In this paper, we investigate two soft handover algorithms used in the different mobile communication system. These different systems are IS-95 system and 3GPP system. The performances of two different soft handover are compared under similar conditions in terms of propagation, environment and mobility behavior. For performance comparison of soft handover, we model cell environment, radio channel and mobility. With these models the computer simulation are performed and the result of computer simulation are reported.

  • In this study, the field test for suction drain method which does not require a surcharge load and a sealing sheet was performed at west seashore's site constructed by the dredged and reclaimed clay. The improvements of soft ground by suction drain method was analyzed by the results of real-time field measurement, SPT(Standard Penetration Test) and laboratory tests. The results indicated that the soft ground improvement is effective the vertical drain method used with vacuum pressure rather than surcharge load with considering settlements, dissipation of pore water pressure and shear strength.

  • Survival, tag retention and tag readability were compared among the control and three treatment groups of soft-shelled turtles, Pelodiscus sinensis Crother, 2000 (mean body $weight{\pm}SD$: $182.6{\pm}13.7\;g$), marked with visible implant fluorescent elastomer (VIFE) tags for 16 months. Mortality 4 to 16 months after tagging was attributed to collection and handling stress rather than to the tagging itself. Tags applied to the web surface between the fourth and fifth dactyl of the hindfoot appeared to have the highest retention rates, while adipose eyelid tagging had high tag readability but a high loss rate. We conclude that in soft-shelled turtles, the most suitable region for VIFE tagging is on the web surface between the fourth and fifth dactyls of the hindfoot.

  • The extensive isolation of genes responsive to stressful conditions from a soft coral Scleronephthya gracillimum was described. Soft coral colonies were exposed to thermal and chemical stressors to induce the expression of stress related genes. Differentially expressed genes by natural or anthropogenic stressors were identified by construction of standard and stress exposed-paired subtractive cDNA library. Thirty-two and thirty-seven kinds of candidate genes were identified from thermal or benzo[a]pyrene stress exposed group, respectively, which are associated with cell cycle, cell signaling, transcription, translation, protein metabolism, and other cellular functions. The expected function of each gene was described. The isolated and identified differentially expressed genes have a great potential to identify environmental stressors in global environmental changes and could act as molecular biomarkers for biological responses against environmental changes. Finally, it may open a new paradigm on soft coral health assessment.

무선 LAN 환경에서 프레임 손실 없는 Semi-Soft 핸드오프 방안 (A Semi-Soft Handoff Mechanism with Zero Frame Loss in Wireless LAM Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11 무선 LAN의 불완전한 link mobility를 해결하기 위한 semi-soft 핸드오프 방안을 고찰하였다. 제안한 방법은 AP와 portal 부분에 버퍼와 MAC 라우팅 테이블을 추가하여 이동 단말이 핸드오프 시간동안 받지 못하는 프레임을 기존 AP의 버퍼에 저장하고 핸드오프 후에 갱신된 MAC 라우팅 테이블을 이용하여 프레임을 Portal에서 이동한 AP로 reroute 하였다. 이후 이동 단막은 이동 중에도 프레임의 손실 없이 지속적으로 프레임의 수신이 가능하게 되어 IEEE 802.11 무선 LAN 환경에 mobile IP나 voice over IP (VoIP) 같은 길시간 서비스의 구현을 가능하게 한다. 제안한 핸드오프 방법의 성능 측정을 위하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며 프레임 손실 없이 실시간 서비스에 적합한 지연 시간안에 프레임이 이동 단말로 전달되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

First Report of Soft Rot Induced by Dickeya dadantii on Euphorbia hypogaea in Korea

  • In a survey conducted in March 2023, Euphorbia hypogaea plants cultivated within greenhouses in Yongin, Korea exhibited water-soaked areas near the stem base, close to the soil. Subsequent isolation from diseased E. hypogaea led to the identification of a bacterial strain, designated as CBNUMPBL-103. The isolate was identified as Dickeya dadantii through sequencing of the 16s rRNA and phylogenetic analysis. The pathogenicity of the isolate was confirmed by inoculating it into healthy E. hypogaea, resulting in the manifestation of similar symptoms observed during the survey. The re-isolated strain recovered from inoculated plants showed a similar morphology with the inoculated strain. This is the first documentation of D. dadantii causing soft rot of E. hypogaea in Korea.

  • Recent paradigm in technology shifts from object-based technology to environment-based technology. Issue here is interaction among human, machines, and environment. This requires new interpretations for the space among them. Holistic interactions based on “Mom (embodiment)” suggest a good starting point for this endeavor. The past, present, future of technology are presented in terms of technology’s fundamental virtue: “humanizing technology” or “technology serving human.” Interactive technology initiative (ITI) is an interdisciplinary research group to search for the proper technology and the proper way of implementing technology: “interactive technology” or “soft engineering.” Some experimental activities conducted by ITI are presented in this organized session, “Interactive Technology.” Metatechnology, soft engineering, “Mom (embodiment),” holistic interactions, tangible space, and ubiquitous computing are key concepts in interactive technology.

  • As the robot industry develops, industrial automation uses industrial robots in many parts of the manufacturing industry. However, rigidity-based conventional robots have a disadvantage in that they are challenging to use in environments where they grab fragile objects or interact with people because of their high rigidity. Therefore, researches on soft robot have been actively conducted. The soft robot can hold or manipulate fragile objects by using its compliance and has high safety even in an atypical environment with human interaction. However, these advantages are difficult to use in dynamic situations and control by the material's nonlinear behavior. However, for the soft robot to be used in the industry, control is essential. Therefore, in this paper, real-time PD control is applied, and the behavior of the soft actuator is analyzed by providing various waveforms as inputs. Also, Iterative learning control (ILC) is applied to reduce errors and select an ILC type suitable for soft actuators.
