Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and attitudes about social service activity(SSA) of nurses. Method: This was a descriptive study. The data was collected from July 15 to 31, 2002 by using a self-report questionnaire consisting of general characteristics(15items), recognition(24items) and attitude(23items) about SSA. The questionnaire was sent to 711 nurses of 38 hospitals in the Gyounggi province area, and 664 questionnaires were returned. The answer rate was 93.4%. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 Win program. Result: Seventy-one percent of nurses had a SSA experience during university, but only 14.2% nurses participate in SSA now. The mean score of recognition of SSA was 3.58($\pm$0.45), and that of attitude was 3.70($\pm$0.42). The relationship between recognition and attitude had a positive correlation(r=.398, p=.000), the higher the score of recognition, the higher the score of attitude. Conclusion: From these results, to improve nurses' participation in SSA, research to investigate the barrier factors of SSA participation in spite of the high level of recognition and attitude is needed. Programs for nurses to participate in SSA and systemic management should be set up.
This study analyzed how elderly people's perception of social welfare affects social welfare service and social welfare policy satisfaction by paying attention to the use of social welfare services and satisfaction with social welfare policies. In order to achieve this research goal, 465 people aged 60 or older who completed responses to the additional survey were collected and analyzed as research targets based on data from the Korea Welfare Panel, which is accumulated by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs and Seoul National University's Social Welfare Research Institute. The results of this study are as follows. First, "Awareness of welfare for the elderly (recognition of welfare expenditure, recognition of welfare targets, recognition of welfare tax increases)" was found to have a negative impact on "use of social services." Second, "Awareness of welfare for the elderly (recognition of welfare expenditure, recognition of welfare targets, recognition of welfare tax increases)" was found to have a negative impact on "satisfaction with social welfare policies." Third, the impact of the recognition of welfare for the elderly on the use of social services was found to be different according to the demographic characteristics (education level, income level, educational background, gender). Fourth, according to the "population statistical characteristics (education level, income level, educational background, gender)" the impact of the recognition of welfare for the elderly on the satisfaction of social welfare policy was shown to be different. The implications of this study are that we looked at multi-dimensional welfare awareness and social service use experience together as factors affecting social welfare policy satisfaction. In other words, it is meaningful that the government focused on welfare awareness based on individual values and subjective perceptions as an influence on social welfare policy satisfaction, and sought practical alternatives to welfare policies and welfare sites by examining whether the experience of using social services in relation to welfare awareness and social welfare policy satisfaction among the elderly.
The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze how teachers' recognition of professionalism and the child's gender and term care affect child's social interaction behavior. Participants were three-year-old 61 children and their 20 teachers. Each child was observed by the time sampling method of 20 sec-observation followed by 10 sec-recording for a total of 14 minutes. The teachers completed the rating scales to measure the teachers' recognition of professionalism. The study results show that, children engaged more frequently in individual behavior than in interactions with peers or with teachers in day care centers. And those children had more interaction behavior with their teachers than with their peers. Correlation between teachers' recognition of professionalism and children's social interaction behavior were as following: the more the teachers recognized professionalism, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their teachers. Also, the more the teachers recognized the professionalism related to the job satisfaction, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their peers. Boys interacted more negatively with peers and teachers than girls did. Children who attended the day care center more than two years showed less individual behaviors than others.
Companies are recently emphasizing social capital that is formed by the network and trust among organization members to secure continuous competitive edge. Social capital induces the members' adaptation and immersion through the interactions with multidimensional factors within an organization, and contributes to increasing an organization's performance by causing cooperative behaviors as a passage of communications and participation. This study analyzed the influence of social capital and organizational support recognition formed in an organization on the turnover intention, and examined the moderating effect of organizational support recognition in the relationship between social capital and turnover intention. To achieve the purpose, this research conducted a survey on small and medium sized manufacturing companies in Busan and Gyeongnam and performed an empirical analysis using hierarchical regression analysis. According to the empirical analysis, the structural and relational dimensions of social capital had a negative (-) influence on the turnover intention. Especially, the relational dimension had a huge influence on the turnover intention, showing that it is important to form trust among an organization's members through their interactions. Second, organizational support recognition also had a negative (-) influence on the turnover intention, demonstrating that attention and complete support at an organizational dimension were needed for individual members. Third, organizational support recognition appeared to mediate the relationship between social capital and the turnover intention. The higher the organizational support recognition was, the lower the negative (-) influence of the relational dimension of social capital on the turnover intention was. Based on these results, this paper discussed the theoretical and practical implications of this research as well as future assignments.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the change gap in the perception of subjective hierarchy and medical expenditure and the factors influencing medical expenditure. Methods: An analysis based on the the data extracted from the Panel Study of Korea Health Panel for 2012-2013 (n=9,359) is conducted. Further in this study, data analysis included a chi-square test and logistic regression using SPSS version. 22.0 to analyze the factors influencing the turnover intention of industrial workers. Results: Model I showed decreases in medical expenditure by 1.247, 1.391, and 1.441 times in social classes one, two, and Model II showed an increase in medical expenditure by age, spouse, number of family members living together, insurance type, income class, economic activities, subjective health status, chronic illness and change on subjective recognition of social class. Conclusions: The study concludes that the state and community require psychological, social, and cultural support, in addition to individual efforts, to reduce medical expenditure.

Objectives: This study was aimed to inspect what relation there exists between the elderly's social support, self-esteem and the suicidal thinking, and examined factors influencing their suicidal ideation. Methods: For 207 old persons above 65 residing at Seoul, questionnaire survey was performed for 4 weeks. For response data, t-test and ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis were performed using spss 18.0 program. Results: The results of analysis are like followings. 1. As for the social support according to the general characteristics, there was statistically significant difference in sex distinction, religion, living arrangement, educational level, monthly allowance and mode to use spare time. As for self-esteem according to the general characteristics, there was statistically significant difference in sex distinction, religion, living arrangement and monthly allowance. And as for the suicidal ideation, there was statistically significant difference in the marital status. 2. As for the relation between the social support, self-esteem and the suicidal ideation, it showed statistically very significant positive correlation in the social support and self-esteem. And there existed relatively higher positive correlation in family support among sub-factors of the social support and the positive self-recognition among sub-factors of self-esteem. 3. It showed that positive and negative self-recognition as sub-factors of self-esteem, others' support as sub-factor of the social support influence on the suicidal ideation. In other words, as positive self-recognition was lower, as negative self-recognition was higher, as social support of others was lower, they had much more effect on the suicidal ideation of the elderly. And it showed about 36.1% of the explanatory capability. Conclusions: Health care providers should develop school health education for the elderly.
Objectives: Limited research has investigated the specific needs of patients with cancer. This study was performed to explore patients needs and the related factors. Methods: The data were collected by 1 National Cancer Center and 9 regional cancer centers in Korea. An interview survey was performed with using a structured questionnaire for the subjects(2661 patients who gave written informed consent to particiate) survey 4 months after diagnosis and review of medical records. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Results: When comparing the relating factors related with patient needs to the sociodemographic characteristics, the female group showed a higher level of recognition for physical symptoms, social support needs. The younger group showed a significantly higher level of recognition for health care staff, psychological problems, information and education, social support, hospital services needs. In addition, the higher educated group showed a higher level of recognition for health care staff, physical symptoms, social support needs. The higher income and office workers group showed a higher level of recognition for hospital services needs. When comparing the relating factors related with patient needs to the cancer, the breast cancer group showed a higher level of recognition for all needs excluding physical symptoms, accessibility and financial support needs. The combined radiotherapy with surgery and chemotherapy group showed a higher level of recognition for psychological problems, information and education, social support needs. Conclusions: This study showed that needs on patient with cancer was significantly influenced by female, higher educagion, lower income, having religion, office worker, liver cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, chemotherapy, and combined therapy.
This study has collected 322 clinical dental hygienists working in Daegu and around Daegu, in order to investigate perceived value of work among dental hygienists and extent of organizational attitude and find relationship between these, and we can finds these conclusions as follows; 1. The total average point of perceived value of work is 3.36(5 is a full mark), and we could gain each points as follows; vision realizability 3.53, process efficiency 3.42, product usefulness 3.32, job significance 3.31, social recognition 3.23. 2. The total average point of organizational attitude is 3.13, and job satisfaction, organizational commitment are 3.14, 3.12 respectively. 3. Variables of perceived value of work related job satisfaction are social recognition, vision realizability, process efficiency,(Social recognition is the most effective variable, and next vision realizability, process efficiency are effective in the order named.)($R^2$=.24) and we could find that job satisfaction is proportion to perceived value of work, according to relationship of these variables. Variables of perceived value of work related to organizational commitment are also vision realizability, social recognition, process efficiency,(Vision realizability is the most effective variable, and next social recognition, process efficiency are effective in the order named.)($R^2$=.32) and we could find that organizational commitment is proportion to perceived value of work, according to relationship of these variables. According to these result, perceived value of work and organization attitude(job satisfaction, organizational commitment) of dental hygienists are affirmative. but to make their attitudes be more affirmative, the research about improving perceived value of work is needed. Especially, vision realizability and social satisfaction are very important variables at perceived value of work of dental hygienists.

Hair style is an expression of beauty for individuals and at the same time a clear social representation. It may be regarded as a means of knowing social recognition about social values and groups of the moment. The hair style clearly discriminated so-called the new woman, emerged during Chosun's modernization, and the old woman. Thus the purpose of this study is to examine changes in social recognition about the behavioral style of the new woman by relating them with women' s movements and with changes in female education policies. Results of the study can be described as follows. First, the new women in the 1920s were evaluated positive as those who were leading struggles against Japan and enlightenment campaigns. But between the 1920s and the 1930s, those women were thought to be negative in that they were appearance-oriented, extravagant and sticking themselves to reality. Second, how a variety of social figures recognized short-hair was determined here through reviewing the mass media of the 1920s. At that time, some men were positive about short-hair like feminists while others denied the convenience of the hair style in life and were negative about the new women's individualism and pursuance of luxurious appearance. Third, there were both positive and negative social recognitions about short-hair in the 1930s. which were supported by the mass media of that time.

Objectives: This study investigated the effect of social skills training (SST) on facial emotion recognition and discrimination in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Methods: Twenty-three children aged 7 to 10 years participated in our SST. They included 15 children diagnosed with ADHD and 8 with ASD. The participants' parents completed the Korean version of the Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL), the ADHD Rating Scale, and Conner's Scale at baseline and post-treatment. The participants completed the Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (K-WISC-IV) and the Advanced Test of Attention at baseline and the Penn Emotion Recognition and Discrimination Task at baseline and post-treatment. Results: No significant changes in facial emotion recognition and discrimination occurred in either group before and after SST. However, when controlling for the processing speed of K-WISC and the social subscale of K-CBCL, the ADHD group showed more improvement in total (p=0.049), female (p=0.039), sad (p=0.002), mild (p=0.015), female extreme (p=0.005), male mild (p=0.038), and Caucasian (p=0.004) facial expressions than did the ASD group. Conclusion: SST improved facial expression recognition for children with ADHD more effectively than it did for children with ASD, in whom additional training to help emotion recognition and discrimination is needed.
