This paper compared and analyzed costume design shown in two movies that was adapted from the same original work, 'Snow White'. One movie consists of a western director and a western designer team while the other movie is shot by an Asian director and an Asian designer team. Two movies show similarity and difference in expression of characters in 'Snow White'. The findings are as followed;- Both movies project an image of modern women, which is mainly represented by active and confident women, However, Ishioka Eiko, the costume designer of < Mirror, Mirror >, created unique costume in the movie by applying splendid and vivid colors to western costume to make exotic feeling. On the other hand, Colleen Atwood, who was inspired by costume in each historic period and region of the Western. created costume that was closer to the tradition of the Western in his movie, < Snow White and the Huntsman >. The purpose of this study is to help the Korean movie industry to find a way to advance to the world market by fully understanding how the Easterners and the Westerners feel and express 'Snow White'. Moreover, this study may present a chance to review importance and value of the movie costume design area.

영화라는 매체는 크게 내러티브와 스펙터클로 이루어진다. 비슷한 내러티브라도 스펙터클이 달라지거나 혹은 비슷한 스펙터클이라도 내러티브가 달라지면 총체로서의 영화가 관객에게 주는 경험은 완전히 달라진다. 본 논문은 비슷한 내러티브의 영화들이 관객에게 주는 경험의 차이를 논하기 위해 그림 형제의 "백설 공주"이야기에 기반 하여 만들어진 디즈니의 <백설 공주와 일곱 난쟁이>, 타셈 싱의 <거울아 거울아>, 루퍼트 샌더스의 <스노우 화이트 앤 더 헌트맨>, 세 편의 영화들을 내러티브와 스펙터클로 나누어 비교분석하였다. 그 결과 디즈니의 <백설 공주>가 내러티브적인 면과 스펙터클적인 면에서 모두 이후에 만들어진 영화들의 원형으로 작용했다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 디즈니의 <백설 공주>가 "잠자는 숲 속의 공주" 이야기에서 차용한 키스신이나 백설 공주가 동물들과 교감한다는 설정, 일곱 난쟁이 각각의 이름과 성격묘사 등은 그림 형제의 원작에는 없는 부분인데 이후의 영화들은 모두 이 변화를 채택했다. 특히 <스노우 화이트 앤 더 헌트맨>의 경우 백설 공주의 의상도 디즈니 버전과 흡사하고, 일부 샷들은 설정과 구도까지도 거의 동일하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 영화들은 확연하게 다른 스타일의 스펙터클로 자신의 정체성을 보여준다. 디즈니의 <백설 공주>가 이후 많은 영화들의 원형이된 마녀의 전형적인 모습을 보여준다면 <거울아 거울아>는 타셈 싱만이 가능한 눈속임 그림과도 같은 독특한 마법의 세계를 보여주고 있으며 <스노우 화이트 앤 더 헌트맨>는 친숙한 것 사이의 섬뜩함이라는 언캐니의 스펙터클로 관객을 압도한다. 즉 비교적 예측 가능한 단순한 내러티브에도 불구하고 세 영화가 박스 오피스에서 비교적 성공을 거둔 것은 많은 부분 스펙터클의 힘이다.

In terms of class, race, or gender, critical literacy takes seriously the problem of inequality and injustice embedded in texts. Texts are considered as tools that are used for maintaining the status quo by constructing and communicating our identities, particularly in relation to others. While reading texts and identifying our roles in society, some feel empowered, and others, marginalized. Thus we need to challenge the characterization and the message included in those texts by asking problem-posing questions. In this paper I have demonstrated how to read and teach four versions of "Snow White" from a critical literacy stance. By the use of problem-posing questions, students are led to discover that one of Grimms' fairy tales, the original version of "Snow White," was written from the perspective of men with power, thus marginalizing women in general, as well as the seven dwarfs. Through a critical analysis of Snow White's personality, the typical theme of fairy tales - good is rewarded while evil is punished - should be challenged. In the animation, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, power is given to the marginalized people in the original, the seven dwarfs and women in general. In "Snow Night,"a feminist short story, women in general are empowered while men, who should be judged by their looks, are powerless. "Snow-Drop"reminds us of the original, but challenges stereotypes, prejudices, and the theme inherent in the story. In those three stories many parts from the original are rewritten from the perspectives of the marginalized, but still some people are described prejudicially. So students should be guided to write another story from a new perspective. When those four works were taught with problem-posing questions in a university, this approach proved to be quite successful: most students acknowledged the effectiveness of critical literacy in teaching literary works.

애니메이션은 단순히 시각적인 정보만을 전달하는 것이 아니라 시각적 정보(이미지), 청각적 정보(음향)와 더불어 내러티브의 융합으로 이루어진다. 이러한 애니메이션의 이미지와 음향은 내러티브의 구조 속에서 조절되고 통제되어지며, 그 맥락에 의해서 의미를 부여받게 된다. 애니메이션이 관객에게 전달하고자 하는 의미는, 비록 동일한 모티브에서 출발한 애니메이션이라 할지라도, 제작자에 따라 서로 다른 의미를 생성해낸다. 월트 디즈니사와 플라이셔 스튜디오의 백설공주는 동화 백설공주를 모티브로 하여 제작되었지만 내러티브의 의미생성에 있어 큰 차이점을 찾아 볼 수 있다. 디즈니의 백설공주는 원작의 의미를 바탕으로 제작자가 재해석하여 애니메이션으로 재탄생시킨 반면, 플라이셔의 백설공주는 백설공주 원작의 의미를 바탕으로 제작하였다기보다는 작품을 완전히 새롭게 구성하여 내러티브의 결속력을 약화시킬뿐만 아니라, 그 당시 시대적 상황을 잘 반영하고 있다.

본 연구에서는 기후요인에 의하여 두루미류의 월동개체군 규모가 달라질 것으로 가설을 세웠다. 그중 가장 추운 시기인 1월의 기후변수에 의하여 월동개체수가 달라질 것이라고 가정하였다. 특히, 재두루미의 경우 두루미와는 달리 철원지역 이외에 눈 덮임의 영향이 적은 대체 월동지(일본의 이즈미)가 있다. 따라서 철원지역 눈 덮임의 정도에 따라 연도별로 개체군의 증감이 발생할 것으로 예측하였다. 이에 일반적으로 분석되는 기상청의 기후자료와 함께 MODIS 위성영상을 이용한 눈 덮임 범위 자료를 활용하여 요인을 분석하였다. 철원지역 두루미류의 개체수 자료는 2002년부터 2014년까지의 1월 개체수를 활용하였다. 철원지역의 기온은 2002년부터 2007~2008년도 월동기까지 증가하다가 감소하며 2011~2012년도 월동기에 가장 낮은 온도를 보였다. 이와 함께 온량지수도 유사한 증감의 경향을 보였다. 신적설량은 2002년 이후 낮게 유지되었으나 2010~2011, 2011~2012년 크게 증가한 형태를 보였다. 눈 덮임의 범위는 2002년부터 2005~2006년까지 급속히 감소하였다가, 2009~ 2010, 2010~2011년 월동기에 급격히 증가한 양상을 보였다. 재두루미의 월동개체수는 다른 기후요인에 비하여 1월의 눈 덮임 범위가 넓을수록 감소하였으며 가장 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 하지만 두루미의 개체수는 일반적 기후요인뿐만 아니라 눈 덮임 관련 요인에 대해서도 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. 따라서 두루미의 개체군 변동은 기후요인에 변화하지 않고 다른 서식지 선택요인 (안정적 잠자리, 취식지 넓이 등)에 의해 결정되기 때문이라 판단된다. 재두루미의 월동개체수는 다중 회기분석에서 눈 덮임 범위 및 기간의 로그값과 유의미한 회귀관계가 성립하였다. 따라서 재두루미의 월동개체수는 월동기 눈 덮임의 범위에 영향을 받으며 이는 눈 덮임에 의해 먹이원인 낙곡을 찾기 힘들어지기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 재두루미의 개체수 변화는 다른 월동지로 이동한 것으로 보이며, 눈 덮임의 영향이 적은 월동지인 일본의 이즈미시로 이동한 것으로 나타났다. 이즈미 월동지의 재두루미 개체수와 철원의 개체수는 음의 상관관계를 가져 서로 연관된 것으로 파악되었다.

중국 동북지역 동굴탐사에서 길림성과 백두산 지역의 동굴을 중심으로 이 지역의 문화와 환경에 대하여 고찰하였다. 현재 화산분화구를 갖고 있으며, 분화구의 천연 호수에 채워져 있는 천지 담수는 백두산의 위용을 한 층 더 돋보여 주며 민족의 영산으로써 영기를 내려주는 혼의 근원이다. 백두산 지역의 룡문대굴 백령대굴, 동룡굴과 함께 길림지역의 관마용동의 개관을 문헌 중심으로 고찰하였다.

A new spray chrysanthemum cultivar 'Snow Bowl' was released by National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science(NIHHS), Rural Development Administration (RDA), in 2008. The cross was made in 2005 between '03B1-230', breeding lines of NIHHS and 'Sei-Alps'. Trials were conducted from 2006 to 2008 for the evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shading cultures in summer and retarding cultures in spring. The natural flowering time of 'Snow Bowl' is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by photo-periodic control. It has single type flowers with white petals. The growth of plant is very vigorous and it is resistant to white rust. The diameter of flower is 6.3cm. Number of flowers per stem and petals per flower are 12 and 31, respectively. Days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 59 and its vase life is 24.1 days in autumn season. 'Snow Bowl' was applied as No. 2009-179 on February 18, 2009 for variety protection and the plant variety protection rights have been registered as No. 3239 on August 3, 2010 at the Korea Seed and Variety Service.

팔레놉시스 '스노우 엔젤'(Snow Angel)는 2008년도에 국립원예특작과학원에서 육성한 품종이다. 백색에 진홍색 레드립 중소형종 '0361'을 모본으로 하고 백색에 분홍 그물무늬와 진분홍립을 가진 중소형종 'S98PN1'을 부본으로 하여 인공교배 하였다. 2000년부터 2002년까지 83개체의 실생을 계통양성 하였다. 계통 중에서 꽃 모양이 둥글고 흰색에 분홍립을 가진 소형의 팔레놉시스 '99-0404-13'을 개체 선발하였다. 선발된 계통에 대하여 2003년부터 2007년까지 개체증식 및 1차 생육특성검정을 수행하고, 2008년에 '원교 F2-18'로 계통명을 부여하여 2차 특성검정, 안정성, 균일성에 대한 연차별 재현성 및 기호도 평가를 수행하였다. 꽃 모양과 화색, 재배력 등 그 우수성이 인정되어, 2008년에 직무육성품종심의회를 거쳐 '스노우 엔젤'로 명명하고 품종 등록하였다.

설화지는 16세기 이전부터 19세기 이후까지 초조된 종이로서, 하얗고 아름다운 전통 우리나라 종이의 특성을 지니고 있는 종이이다. 원산지는 평강(平康)이며, 17세기 이후 남원 순창, 진주 등지에서도 초조되었다. 원료는 뽕나무로서, 겨울철에 눈을 이용하여 표백하고(설쇄) 초조하였다. 서화용이나 인쇄용지로 사용되었으며, 궁중에서 혹은 사신의 예물로 사용된 고급품이었다.

2003년 화색과 잎의 광택이 우수하고 절화장이 길며 다수성인 품종 "Saphia"를 모계로 절화장이 길며 다수성이지만 잎이 약하고 흰가루병에 약한 품종인 "Bridal Beauty"를 인공교배 하여 얻은 실생계통 42주에 대하여 2004~2005년에 1차선발을 하여 1계통을 선발하였으며, 2006~2008까지 3차에 거쳐 특성검정을 실시한 후 최종 선발 된 '원교 D1-1008'을 2008년 농작물 직무육성 신품종 선정위원회를 거쳐 "Snow Day"로 명명하였다. "Snow Day"의 화색은 흰색으로 RHS 칼라챠트번호 155A로 나타나며, 흰가루병에 대하여 저항성인 특징을 가지고 있다. 꽃잎수는 29.2개이며 화폭은 11.3 cm로 "Tineke"보다 약간 컸다. 년간 절화수량은 10a당 152본이며 절화장은 81.8 cm 절화경경은 6.7 mm였고 절화수명은 13.7일 정도를 나타내었다.
