An airborne magnetometer survey was carried out over an offshore area of about $200,000km^2$ from the southeastern, southern and western part of Korea. Detailed magnetic studies on the geological structure of the southern part of above area ($100,000km^2$) was accomplished. Residual aeromagnetic map was made in order to delineate magnetic provinces, magnetic lineaments and sedimentary basins by application of least square method using computer system. To determine the depth of the sedimentary basins pseudo-gravimetric method was applied. 1. The area studied is divided into four magnetic provinces for the purpose of interpretation on the basis of the magnetic maps. 2. Near shore area and its attached islands of southern part (fiirst and second magnetic province) can be regarded as being the extension from the land geology due to presentation of strong magnetic anomalies and shallow magnetic basements. 3. Magnetic lineament 1-1 is strong magnetic anomalous region which is presumably relevant to volcanic activities in Cretaceous. The depth of magnetic basement of the lineament was determined to 1,500 m. Negative magnetic anomalous zones B1-1 and B1-2 which represent Tertiary basins showed depth of magnetic basement 3 km and 4 km each. The latter can be interpreted as extension of the Taiwan basin which is consisted of Tertiary sediments. 4. Magnetic lineament 2-1 coincide with Rainan-Fukien massif running NE-SW direction. A lineament located in central part of magnetic lineament 2-1 is well connected with extension of Sobacksan anticlinal axis on land. Volcanic rocks in Gyongsang system concentrated along this lineament. 5. The characteristics of magnetic pattern in the southern Yellow sea basin of western part of Jeju island show weaker magnetic anomalies and deeper magnetic basements than first and second magnetic provinces indicating geological structure of this basin seems to be quite different from that of Jeju strait. 6. In southern part of Jeju island, smoother magnetic pattern develope southward. Maximum depth of magnetic basement in sedimentary basins BIV-1 and BIV-2 were determined down to 6,000 m increasing its thickness toward Taiwan up to 11,000 m in the shelf area off Taichung, Taiwan. Judging from the fact that hydrocarbon was founded in the Tertiary sediments of western coastal area of Taiwan, it can be expected that hydrocarbon will be existed in these sedimentary basins of southern part of Jeju island.

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of potassium silicate on the growth and leaf epidermal characteristics of horticultural crops viz., begonia (Begonia semperflorens Link et Otto) 'Super Olympia Red' and 'Super Olympia Rose' and pansy (Viola ${\times}$ wittrockiana Hort.) 'Matrix White Blotch' and 'Matrix Yellow Blotch' in vitro. Seeds after germination were grown on a quarter strength MS medium supplemented with potassium silicate ($K_2SiO_3$) at 0, 100, 200, or $300mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and were maintained under a photoperiod of 16 hours at $25^{\circ}C$. Growth parameters such as plant height, root length, chlorophyll content, fresh, and dry weights have been recorded after a growth period of 58 days for begonia and 94 days for pansy. In begonia, fresh weight was significantly greatest in the $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$K_2SiO_3$ treatment in both 'Super Olympia Red' and 'Super Olympia Rose'. In both pansy cultivars, fresh weight was the greatest in the $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$K_2SiO_3$ treatment than other treatments. Chlorophyll content was significantly greater in the $100mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$K_2SiO_3$ treatment for both the cultivars of begonia. Leaf area significantly increased with the higher concentrations of $K_2SiO_3$ treatment in both cultivars of pansy. Stomatal structures on the leaf epidermis were observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In begonia 'Super Olympia Rose', the structure of stomata were more compact in size in the $300mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$K_2SiO_3$ treatment than in the control. Similarly, in pansy 'Matrix White Blotch' the surface of stomata appeared to be smoother in the $300mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$K_2SiO_3$ treatment than those wrinkled appearance in the control. The surface of the leaf epidermis appeared to be compact due to Si deposition, and thus results indicated that Si positively affected the growth and biomass production of these species. Our data show that the effect of Si on growth parameters is strongly dependent on cultivar of the plant species tested.
In order to identify tactile sensibility factors of traditional silk fabrics and to provide prediction models for the sensibility factors by mechanical properties, seventeen different traditional silk fabrics were evaluated in terms of both tactile sensation and sensibility by using a modified magnitude estimation line scale Gongdan and Newttong with lower values for surface roughness(SMD), bending rigidity(B), and compression resilience(RC) were rated as softer, smoother, fluffier, and more pliable in tactile sensation than any other traditional silk fabrics whereas Nobangju haying higher B, SMD, and tensile resilience(RT) was touched as crisper, more rustling, and springier. Three different tactile sensibility factors including 'Feminine', 'Natural', and 'Casual' were obtained significantly by grouping fifteen different tactile sensibility descriptors. In the prediction models sensibility 'Feminine' was explained positively by SMD, which was supported by the fact that both Gongdan and Newtton were perceived as more feminine. Sensibility 'Natural' that was felt stronger as for Myoungju and Sa was predicted negatively by both fabric thickness(T) and RT. Finally, RC, elongation at maximum load (EM), and T predicted sensibility 'Casual' negatively, which results in its higher factor scores for Myoungju and Shantung, respectively.

Recently, CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) is one of very important processing in semiconductor technology because of large integration and application of design role. CMP is a planarization process of wafer surface using the chemical and mechanical reactions. One of the most important components of the CMP system is the polishing pad. During the CMP process, the pad itself becomes smoother and glazing. Therefore it is necessary to have a pad conditioning process to refresh the pad surface, to remove slurry debris and to supply the fresh slurry on the surface. A conditioning disk is used during the pad conditioning. There are diamonds on the surface of diamond disk to remove slurry debris and to polish pad surface slightly, so density, shape and size of diamond are very important factors. In this study, we characterized diamond disk with 9 kinds of sample.
We introduce in this paper a new method for smooth foldover-free warping of images, based on the vector field deformation technique proposed by Von Funck et al. It allows users to specify the constraints in two different ways: positional constraints to constrain the position of a point in the image and gradient constraints to constrain the orientation and scaling of some parts of the image. From the user-specified constraints, it computes in the image domain a C1-continuous velocity vector field, along which each pixel progressively moves from its original position to the target. The target positions of the pixels are obtained by solving a set of partial derivative equations with the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. We show how our method can be useful for texture mapping with hard constraints. We start with an unconstrained planar embedding of a target mesh using a previously known method (Least Squares Conformal Map). Then, in order to obtain a texture map that satisfies the given constraints, we use the proposed warping method to align the features of the texture image with those on the unconstrained embedding. Compared to previous work, our method generates a smoother texture mapping, offers higher level of control for defining the constraints, and is simpler to implement.
Topology and molecular ordering of NPD(4,4'-bis-[N-(1-naphthyl)-N-phenyl-amino]biphenyl) thin films deposited under magnetic field with post-deposition annealing were investigated. NPD was deposited onto ITO glass substrates via thermal evaporation process in vacuum. It is of great importance for highly oriented organic/metal films to have improved device performances such as higher current density and luminance efficiency. AFM (Atomic Force Microscope) and XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) analyses were used to characterize the topology and structure of oriented NPD films. The multi-source meter was used to observe the current-voltage characteristics of the ITO (Indium-Tin Oxide) / NPD (4,4'bis[N-(1-napthyl)-N-phenyl-amino]-biphenyl) / Al (Aluminum) device. While NPD thin films deposited under magnetic field were not molecularly well aligned according to the XRD results, the films after post-deposition annealing at $130^{\circ}C$ were well-oriented. AFM images show that NPD thin films deposited under magnetic field had a smoother surface than those deposited without magnetic field. The current-voltage performance of NPD thin films was improved due to the enhanced electron mobility in the well-aligned NPD films.

The indium zinc oxide (IZO) thin films were deposited using a radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering method. Among the various processing variables, $O_{2}$ concentration and annealing temperature after deposition were selected and the optical, electrical, and structural properties of IZO thin films were investigated. As the $O_{2}$ concentration increased, the deposition rate of IZO thin films decreased, the resistivity increased and the transmittance slightly increased. According to atomic force microscopy analysis, the IZO films deposited at pure Ar showed rough surface and those deposited with $O_{2}$ addition exhibited relatively smooth surface. The IZO thin films deposited at pure Ar were annealed at 250, 350, and $450^{\circ}C$, respectively. The IZO thin film deposited at pure Ar showed the lowest transmittance and resistivity and resistivity greatly increased at the annealing temperature exceeding $250^{\circ}C$. The higher annealing temperature IZO films were annealed at, the smoother surface the films showed. The x-ray diffraction revealed that IZO films annealed at higher temperature had better crystalline structures.

Many people today are interested in Machine to Machine (M2M) as the new-generation growth engine of mobile communications service providers in Korea. Its use and application are broadening to various areas and the number of devices used for it is increasing to increase the number of information transmitted for each object. When the traffic reaches its limit while each set of data is transmitted from the devices divided into each group through the mobile network, M2M communications service might not be processed smoothly. This study used the Knapsack Problem algorithm to create a virtual simulator for a smooth M2M service when the mobile network used for the M2M communications reaches its limit. The virtual simulator applies smooth processing of services from the M2M communications that should be processed first to other subsequent services when data comes to each group of devices. As the M2M technology develops to make many objects more compact in size, it would help with smoother processing of M2M services for the mobile network with fast-increasing traffic.
The aim of this study was to investigate the physical properties of visible light curing Glass Ionomer cement for restorative esthetic filling. The control group was the autopolymerizing GC Fuji II Glass Ionomer cement (2.2: 1 P/L ratio) and the experimental groups were made by following procedure. To induce the polymerization by visible light, the powder of GC Fuji II GI cement and the liquid of Vitrabond for base & liner were mixed in an amalgam capsule with 2.5:1, 3.0:1, 3.5:1 P/L ratio (% wt/wt). After fabrication of specimens, compressive strength, fracture toughness ($K_{IC}$) Scanning Electron Microscope and X-ray Diffraction, water-leachable content, marginal leakage and surface roughness were studied. The results were as follows: 1. Only experimental No. 1 group (visible light curing) showed less compressive strength than control group 1 hour after curing. Strength was increased with aging in all groups, so the compressive strength of light curing groups was no less than that of autopolymerizing group after 3 weeks. 2. Experimental No.3 group (visible light curing) was inferior to No.2 group (visible light curing) in fracture resistance but light curing groups were more resistant to fracture than autopolymerizing group and showed ductile fracture pattern as compared with the brittle fracture pattern of autopolymerizing group. 3. From scanning electron microscopic image, various sized unreacted powder particles, surrounded by silica gel, were embedded in polysalt matrix. Light curing groups showed little crack and more dense unreacted particles than autopolymerizing group. 4. From X-ray diffraction analysis, GC Fuji II Glass Ionomer cement powder and all groups showed glassy appearance but light curing groups seemed to be more intensive in crystaline than autopolymerizing group. S. The most significant dissolution was shown in early setting period in all group. Light curing groups were dissolved less than autopolymerizing group. 6. Marginal leakage was not different significantly in case of cavity margin composed of same tooth structure (ex. only enamel margin, only dentin margin) but much more leakage was shown in dentin/cementum margin than enamel margin. In only case of only enamel margin, light curing groups were superior to autopolymerizing group. 7. All groups showed relatively smooth surface, which irregularity was less than $1{\mu}m$. Light curing groups were smoother than autopolymerizing group.
Baby powder is an astringent powder used to prevent diaper rash. It also has other cosmetic uses. In general, it is composed of talc powder (talcum powder). Talc powder is harmful if inhaled because it can cause significant lung damage. With the aim of developing a new rice-based baby powder, three kinds of rice varieties were selected and pulverized. To determine the cost-effectiveness of the different states of rice powder, several milling processes were tried, and the powder characteristics of the resulting rice powder, such as particle size, biological activities, digitalized color value, and moisture content before and after coating treatment with essential oil and silicon oil, were examined. "Goami" showed good flour characteristics with respect to lightness (92.0, $L^*$[D65] value) and particle size ($8.9{\mu}m$). SEM analysis showed that the rice powder particles coated in the essential oil and silicon oil showed a smoother and rounder appearance than those of the talc powder. In addition, the average particle size was decreased by the essential oil and silicon oil coating. The silicon oil coating solved the problem of moisture absorption in rice flour. Rice flour properly coated with essential oil and silicon oil shows great potential as a new material source of powder.
