  • The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of ordinances enacted by local governments in relationship to the promotion and revitalization of smart tourism cities and to present the direction and improvements of ordinances to local governments through the content analysis of the ordinances. The ordinances of 15 local governments that have enacted and implemented smart tourism promotion ordinances as of June 2024 were analyzed by an analysis framework consisting of targets, promotion projects, delivery systems, and financial funding based on Gilbert and Terrell's policy analysis model. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the smart tourism promotion ordinances of local governments have recently been enacted and are in the attractive stage, focusing on technology, content, and service items applied to smart tourism rather than reflecting regional characteristics. As a result of analyzing the provisions related to the target, promoting projects, delivery systems, and financial funding in the composition of the ordinance, it was found that local governments were somewhat lacking in promoting smart tourism projects overall. Based on the analysis results, the direction of development of the smart tourism promotion ordinance was suggested.

  • Recently, as the number of smart-phone users has been rapidly increased, enterprise managers have a keen interest in business application of social media. Most previous studies have focused on perspective of the individual unit of analysis instead of enterprise level unit. The study is focused on the relationship between the enterprises' recognition and behavioral intention (and use) about social media application. The purpose of this study is to develop the model of small and medium enterprises' social media application, and to find the factors affecting their behavioral intention or use behavior. The moderating effects of four corporate characteristics on the relationship between the enterprises' recognition and behavioral intention are also examined. We surveyed 900 corporate staffs and received 203 responses. After questionnaires with unreliable responses had been excluded, 182 effective samples were used in the final analysis. The findings suggest that Performance Expectation, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions significantly affect Behavioral Intention of social medea, and Behavioral Intention affects USE. Furthermore, some corporate characteristics have moderating effect on the relationship between recognition of social media and Behavioral Intention.

  • This study attempted to extend Korean Wave literature by investigating (a) the influence of protagonists' personality characteristics and the role of empathy under the affective disposition theory, and (b) the power of some external factors in the entertainment media selection. After watching an episode of the popular Korean drama, Secret Garden, participants completed a survey in the United States. Results demonstrated that (a) the effect of personality characteristics varied across gender and (b) external factors affects the entertainment media selection positively. Findings indicate that media enjoyment is dependent on the audience's external factors.

  • In this paper, we propose a user-centric conflict management method for media services which exploits personal companions for the harmonious detection and resolution of service conflicts. To detect conflicts based on the varying characteristics of individual users, the proposed method exploits the unified context describing all users attempting to access media services. It recommends and mediates users' preferred media contents through a shared screen and personal companions to resolve the detected conflicts. During the recommendation, a list of preferred media contents is displayed on the shared screen, and a personally preferred content list is shown on the user's personal companion comprising the selection of media contents. Mediation assists the selection of a consensual service by gathering the users' selections and highlighting the common media contents. In experiments carried out in a ubiHome, we observed that recommendations and mediation are useful in harmoniously resolving conflicts by encouraging user participation in conflict situations.

  • Smart Farm means creating new value in various fields related to agriculture, including not only agricultural production but also distribution and consumption through the convergence of agriculture and ICT. In Korea, a rental smart farm is created to spread smart agriculture, and a smart farm big data platform is established to promote data collection and utilization. It is pushing for digital transformation of agricultural products distribution from production areas to consumption areas, such as expanding smart APCs, operating online exchanges, and digitizing wholesale market transaction information. As such, although agricultural data is generated according to characteristics from various sources, it is only used as a service using statistics and standardized data. This is because there are limitations due to distributed data collection from agriculture to production, distribution, and consumption, and it is difficult to collect and process various types of data from various sources. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the current state of domestic agricultural data collection and sharing for digital agriculture and propose a data collection and linkage method for artificial intelligence services. And, using the proposed data, we propose a deep learning-based environmental factor recommendation method.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the understanding of smart cities and to review whether the common perception of smart cities, as people understand it, is changing over time. This study analyzes keywords related to smart cities used in social network services (SNSs) in 2011, 2016, and 2020 respectively through semantic network analysis. Smart city discussions appearing on SNS in 2011 mainly focused on technology, and the results of 2016 were generally similar to those of 2011. We can also find policy or business-oriented characteristics in emerging countries in 2020. We highlight that all the results of 2011, 2016, and 2020 have some correlation with each other through QAP(Quadratic Assignment Procedure) correlation analysis, and among them, the correlation between 2011 and 2016 is analyzed the most. The results of the frequency analysis, centrality analysis, and CONCOR(CONvergence of interaction CORrelation) analysis support these results. The results of this study help establish policies that reflect the needs and opinions of citizens in planning smart cities by identifying trends and paradigm transitions expressed by people in SNS. Furthermore, it is expected to help emerging countries by enhancing the understanding of the essence and trend of smart cities and to contribute by suggesting the direction of more sustainable technology development in future smart city policies for leading countries.

  • Nowadays, there are a lot of Korean documents, which often need to be identified in one of printed or handwritten text. Early methods for the identification use structural features, which can be simple and easy to apply to text of a specific font, but its performance depends on the font type and characteristics of the text. Recently, the bag-of-words model has been used for the identification, which can be invariant to changes in font size, distortions or modifications to the text. The method based on bag-of-words model includes three steps: word segmentation using connected component grouping, feature extraction, and finally classification using SVM(Support Vector Machine). In this paper, bag-of-words model based method is proposed using SURF(Speeded Up Robust Feature) for the identification of machine printed and handwritten text in Korean documents. The experiment shows that the proposed method outperforms methods based on structural features.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the government's disaster information characteristics and process characteristics linked to user's trust building and information acceptance, and to analyze the moderating effect of user characteristics on various media literacy on trust and information acceptance. Method: In this study, the structural influence relationship between constituent variables was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0 as an analysis tool. In addition, in order to reflect the characteristics of various analysis samples, the number of respondents by age was composed of at least 150 samples. Result: In a disaster situation, users who accept government disaster information and trust in government were measured, and it was confirmed that these types of trust had an effect on information acceptance. It was confirmed that critical understanding, which is the media literacy competency of users, has a moderating effect between trust and information acceptance. Conclusion: It is judged that the research results have practical value in that the government can use them as basic information to provide consumer-oriented disaster information in the future.
