스마트 건설안전 기술 도입 촉진을 위한 제도적⋅기술적 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (Institutional and Technical Improvement Measures to Facilitate the Use of Smart Construction Safety Technology)

  • Efforts to reduce on-site safety incidents have expanded, leading to active research in this domain. However, a systematic analysis to improve the utility of technology is lacking. In this study, we conducted a survey on the various institutional and technical improvement measures to promote the application of smart construction safety technology over three years after the implementation of the "Smart Safety Equipment Support Project." The results showed that financial constraint was the primary obstacle in the adoption of this innovation. Fostering a flexible environment in the utilization of management fees and financial support of projects was determined to aid in the extensive application of the technology. Ensuring cost efficiency and user-friendliness were principally necessary for technical enhancements in the smart construction safety technology. Technologies, such as VR/AR safety education, real-time location tracking, wearable devices, and innovation on streamlining safety-related work efficiency, had been anticipated to contribute to on-site safety. Operating a smart safety control center was expected to be beneficial in the systematic securing of data and reduction of safety blind spots. Effective methods had been suggested to overcome the barriers that hindered the development and application of smart construction safety technology. This study facilitates in the technological improvements in this field.

Therapeutic potential of targeting kinase inhibition in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

  • Fibrosis is characterized by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix components. The fibrotic process ultimately leads to organ dysfunction and failure in chronic inflammatory and metabolic diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, advanced kidney disease, and liver cirrhosis. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a common form of progressive and chronic interstitial lung disease of unknown etiology. Pathophysiologically, the parenchyma of the lung alveoli, interstitium, and capillary endothelium becomes scarred and stiff, which makes breathing difficult because the lungs have to work harder to transfer oxygen and carbon dioxide between the alveolar space and bloodstream. The transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) signaling pathway plays an important role in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and scarring of the lung tissue. Recent clinical trials focused on the development of pharmacological agents that either directly or indirectly target kinases for the treatment of IPF. Therefore, to develop therapeutic targets for pulmonary fibrosis, it is essential to understand the key factors involved in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and the underlying signaling pathway. The objective of this review is to discuss the role of kinase signaling cascades in the regulation of either TGF-β-dependent or other signaling pathways, including Rho-associated coiled-coil kinase, c-jun N-terminal kinase, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 5, and p90 ribosomal S6 kinase pathways, and potential therapeutic targets in IPF.

Measurements of Dark Area in Sensing RFID Transponders

  • Radiofrequency(RF) signal is a key medium to the most of the present wireless communication devices including RF identification devices(RFID) and smart sensors. However, the most critical barrier to overcome in RFID application is in the failure rate in detection. The most notable improvement in the detection was from the introduction of EPC Class1 Gen2 protocol, but the fundamental problems in the physical properties of the RF signal drew less attention. In this work, we focused on the physical properties of the RF signal in order to understand the failure rate by noting the existence of the ground planes and noise sources in the real environment. By using the mathematical computation software, Maple, we simulated the distribution of the electromagnetic field from a dipole antenna when ground planes exist. Calculations showed that the dark area can be formed by interference. We also constructed a test system to measure the failure rate in the detection of a RFID transponder. The test system was composed of a fixed RFID reader and an EPC Class1 Gen2 transponder which was attached to a scanner to sweep in the x-y plane. Labview software was used to control the x-y scanner and to acquire data. Tests in the laboratory environment showed that the dark area can be as much as 43 %. One who wants to use RFID and smart sensors should carefully consider the extent of the dark area.

Verification of mechanical failure mode through corrosion test of a pump for soil sterilizer injection

  • Deteriorating soil physical properties and increasing soil pathogens due to the continuous cultivation of field crops are the leading causes of productivity deterioration. Crop rotation, soil heat treatment, and chemical control are used as pest control methods; however, each has limitations in wide application to domestic agriculture. In particular, chemical control requires improvement due to direct exposure to sterilizing solution, odor, and high-intensity work. To improve the overall domestic agricultural environment, the problems of time and cost, such as field maintenance and cultivation scale, must be addressed; therefore, mechanization technology for chemical control must be secured to derive improvement effects in a short period. Most related studies are focused on the control effect of the DMDS (dimethyl disulfide) sterilizer, and research on the performance of the sterilization spray device has been conducted after its introduction in Korea, but research on the corrosion suitability of the material is lacking. This study conducted a corrosion test to secure the corrosion resistance of a soil sterilizer injection pump, and a mechanical failure mode by corrosion by the material was established. The corrosion test comprised operation and neglect tests in which the sterilizing solution was circulated in the pump and remained in the pump, respectively. As a result of the corrosion test, damage occurred due to the weakening of the mechanical strength of the graphite material, and corrosion resistance to aluminum, stainless steel, fluororubber, and PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) materials was confirmed.

스마트워크 환경에서 영상협업을 위한 연동기능 확장 이슈 (Extended Issues of Interoperability for Video Conference in Smart Work)

  • 최근 들어 근로자의 이동시간 단축을 통한 에너지 절감뿐만 아니라 저출산 고령화에 따른 노인 인구의 경제활동 유도, 출산여성에 대한 경력단축 방지, 장애인에 대한 근로활동 제공 등을 위한 근로 환경의 변화가 요구되고 있다. 이러한 근로환경을 제공하기 위한 스마트워크는 기존 사무실에서 근무하는 환경을 탈피하여 댁내, 스마트워크 센터, 또는 이동 중에도 마치 직장에서 근무하는 것처럼 업무를 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 환경을 제공한다. 스마트워크는 현재 사용중인 여러 가지의 기술들을 근로환경에 맞게 채택하여 구현할 수 있으며, 특히 근로자의 업무 생산성을 높이기 위한 협업기능이 제공될 필요가 있다. 영상협업 기능은 영상, 음성 및 콘텐츠 공유를 통해 원격지 간에 효과적인 업무를 수행할 수 있도록 제공하는 기능이다. 본 논문은 스마트워크에서 영상협업을 제공하기 위하여 요구되는 상호연동 기능확장을 위한 표준화 이슈에 대하여 기술한다.

내수면 양식장을 위한 LPWA망 기반 스마트 급이 시스템 설계 (Design of the Smart Feeding System based on the LPWA network for Inland Fish Farms)

  • IoT기술은 최근 수년간 급격히 발달하였고, 많은 분야에 적용되고 있다. 수산업 분야에서는 IoT 플랫폼을 활용한 양식장 수질관리 시스템이 개발되어 생산성 향상과 근로 환경 개선에 많은 도움을 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 내수면 양식장 수질관리 시스템에서 더욱 발전하여, 수질 연동형 자동 급이 시스템을 설계함으로써 보다 효율적이고 체계적인 양식장 관리 시스템을 제안한다. IoT 전용망인 LPWA를 활용하여 내수면 양식장 환경에 적합하고, 저전력과 낮은 통신비용으로 상용화를 위한 경제성을 확보하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 내수면 양식 산업의 발전은 물론, 빅데이터 분석을 통한 양식 기술 발전에 일조할 것으로 기대한다.

원격근무환경에서 일과 삶의 균형방안: 인과지도, 사고프로세스와 트리즈의 적용 (Work and Life Balance in teleworking Environment - Application of CLD, TP, and TRIZ -)

  • Purpose & Design/methodology/approach Amidst the COVID-19 spread, interest in telework has been increasing as a way to respond to environmental changes and improve organizational performance. In this study, causal loop diagram, thinking process, and four principles of TRIZ were used to find various ways to achieve work-life balance for workers and firms in teleworking environment. Findings The result of the causal loop diagram shows that keeping work-life balance is needed to provide free extra time for workers and achieve the firm's performance through efficient coordination between departments in teleworking environment. Using thinking process of TOC, we proposed a evaporating cloud for work-life balance and reviewed assumptions and premises to maintain extra free time for workers and achieve firm's performance paradoxically, and suggested solutions through the breakdown of the assumptions and premises. Resolving the contradiction(RC) by spatial separation is to divide working spaces into home, smart center, and mobile work types, to find both ways to achieve the organizational performance, and to provide extra time for workers. RC by temporal separation is to divide working time into various unit time, and to find ways to achieve organizational performance through doing work at office or home periodically or shiftly according to a predetermined schedule and time setting. RC by situational separation is to give options of flexible methods of performing work according to the conditions of the company or the worker. RC by separation between part and a whole is to find ways to organize and do the work so that the entire work can be completed efficiently even if each work is performed separately in teleworking way. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic thinking framework for achieving work-life balance in teleworking environment and proposes ways to resolve conflict from various perspectives, but it is limited in that it has not been tested empirically.

BIM의 공정과 기성 관리 적용을 위한 CBS 수량 분개 및 코드 정립 방안 (Methods for Quantitative Disassembly and Code Establishment of CBS in BIM for Program and Payment Management)

  • BIM에서 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나가 디지털 데이터이다. 체계적인 디지털 데이터 관리를 위해 최근까지 연구를 통해 객체분류체계(OBS)와 속성분류체계(Pset)가 제시되어 왔다. 특히 공정 및 기성 관리에 사용되는 디지털 데이터는 WBS와 CBS로 나뉘고 이를 BIM 객체와 매핑하려면 CBS의 수량 분개가 필요한데 CBS는 양이 매우 방대하고 공종이나 규격, 명칭 및 CBS 코드가 발주처마다 상이하여 WBS나 BIM 모델에 맞는 수량 분개 작업을 엑셀 등을 이용해서 수작업으로 한다는 것은 사실상 어렵다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 BIM 모델에 의해 산출하기 힘든 수량 중에서 대부분을 차지하는 연장에 근거한 수량의 전체분을 분개하는 방안, 축적된 WBS-CBS 이력으로부터 최적 CBS를 도출하는 방안과 합리적인 CBS 데이터베이스 구축을 위해 필수적인 CBS 코드 통합 표준화 방안을 제시하였다.

사용자 경험 중심의 섬유일체형 온도조절 스마트재킷 개발과 착용성 평가 (Development and Wearability Evaluation of All-Fabric Integrated Smart Jacket for a Temperature-regulating System Based on User Experience Design)

  • This study aims to develop an all-fabric integrated smart jacket in order to create a temperature-regulating system based on a user experience design. For this research, previous research technologies of a textile switch interface and a temperature-regulating system were utilized and a unifying technology for the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was developed which can provide the appropriate temperature environments to the human body. A self-heating textile was applied at the areas of the back and hood in the final tested jacket, and an embroidery circuit was developed in the form of a rectangle in the back and in both ears of the hood, taking into account the pattern of the jacket part where it was be applied and the embroidery production method. The textile switch interface was designed in a three-layer structure: an embroidery circuit line in a conductive yarn, an interval material, and a conductive sensing material, and it was made to work with the input and output sensors through the multiple input method. After the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was produced according to the pattern, all of the textile band lines for transmission were gathered and connected with a miniature module for controlling temperature and then integrated into the inside of the left chest pocket of the jacket. After the users put on this jacket, they were asked to assess the wearing satisfaction. Most of them reported a very low level of irritation and discomfort and said that the jacket was as comfortable as everyday clothing.

Analysis of engine load factor for a 90 kW agricultural combine harvester based on working speed

  • This study aimed to evaluate the engine load factor (LF) of a 90 kW agricultural combine harvester. The combine harvester used in this study is equipped with an electronic engine, and real-time engine data (torque and speed) was collected through a controller area network. The speed of the combine harvester during harvesting operation was divided into three levels (4, 5, and 6 km/h) for the representative operation speed range of 4 to 6 km/h. The LF was calculated using the engine load data measured in real time during harvesting. A weight was applied to the LF for each condition based on a survey of the usage. Results of the field test showed that the LF was 0.53, 0.64, and 0.87 at working speeds of 4, 5, and 6 km/h, respectively. The highest engine load factor was recorded at 6 km/h. Finally, based on the weight for the usage applied, the integrated engine LF was analyzed to be 0.69, which is approximately 144% higher than the currently applied LF of 0.48. A study on LF analysis for the entire work cycle, including idling and driving of the combine harvester, will be addressed in a future study.
