  • Smart phone systems such as Android and iPhone are spreading into the next generation's computing and the prediction that cell phone (especially smart phone) penetration rate will be higher than that of PC in the near future is predominant. In this paper, we designed and materialized an item pool system which has self directed learning function that enables learning with smart phone (the PC in the hand). Users can choose the way of studying and do the offered estimation depending on their levels with smart phone. It is materialized the studying environment which can be done immediately anytime and anywhere.

  • Everyday, technology is evolved in many different disciplines. Computer and smart devices revolution take part of the evolved technology that continuously promising new features. Moreover, social networks services recently become widely popular, which most people in the world become a social-network-fond. In addition to the revolution of the evolved technology and social networks services, ubiquitousness is taking significant part in our daily lives. Although, there are many e-learning systems already existed, which use Internet technology along with a Web technology to provide education in various ways, in despite of that, there is no such existing system exploits the usefulness of smart devices along with the legacy of the online social networks besides the power of the ubiquitous computing technology. Therefore, we propose a smart device application, which fills the gap that has been missing in the recent contemporary era. It is an application that runs on smart devices particularly Smartphone devices; we call our system “Smart Device based Social E-learning System(SDES)”. We have preliminary implemented our system on Android OS. In this paper, we intentionally propose the system in order to ease the way people learn, to provide interactive accessibility in our system, and to utilize the advanced technology more wisely.

  • We developed a system which supports the functions of real-time evaluation and feedback for smart learning. The system is consisted of an application for tablet PC and smart phone and the server, and the client exchanges data with the server through wireless communication. Whereby, the proposed system enabled realtime interaction and feedback between learner and teacher or between learners. As a result, the instruction for each learner's level is available using the system, and then it could enhance the level of academic achievement and learning interest.

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the effects of smart learning. By using meta analysis method, twenty MA and Ph.D degree papers published from 2006 to 2013 were analyzed and 104 effect sizes were calculated. Followings were the results of the research: (a) Smart learning turned out to be more statistically effective comparing to traditional education. The total mean effect size was .886 and the value of U3 was 66.53%. (b) All effect size of sub dependent variables(ie, academic achievement, learning satisfaction, learning attitude) were also effective by adapting smart learning. (c) The moderated variables likes learner characteristics, learning content, and interaction had high effect sizes. Operation system variable had a low effect size but it was not significant.

  • Recently, research on a smart farm that creates new values by combining information and communication technology(ICT) with agriculture has been actively done. In order for domestic smart farm technology to have productivity at the same level of advanced agricultural countries, automated decision-making using machine learning is necessary. However, current smart greenhouse data collection technologies in our country are not enough to perform big data analysis or machine learning. In this paper, we design and implement a smart greenhouse data preprocessing system for autonomous machine learning. The proposed system applies target data to various preprocessing techniques. And the proposed system evaluate the performance of each preprocessing technique and store optimal preprocessing technique for each data. Stored optimal preprocessing techniques are used to perform preprocessing on newly collected data

  • In recently, various kinds of services utilizing the location information of the user's smart phone have appeared. Based on this trend, we designed a new type of learning assistant system that utilizes geofencing technology, which is a field of location information technology. This system identifies the location of the classroom using the location information of learner's the smart phone and automatically provides the necessary learning contents to the learner's smart phone when the learner enters the classroom set as the virtual fence area while carrying the smart phone respectively. Our system provides learning contents in a form similar to the form of a message or a mobile coupon and learners are used to such mobile service environments very much. So the use of learning contents provided by our system is expected to help improve the learning effect of learners.

  • Robotics education in elementary school, It is difficult for girls to continue the motivation and willingness to learn because of a negative attitude and low recognition against the machine. In this paper, we studied method to improve the learning attitude through STEAM-based robotics education utilizing storytelling and robot smart learning system for elementary school girls. The curriculum is composed of nine themes which are selected from famous classic fairy tales for girls and we developed robot smart learning system which allows girls to enjoy robot design&control, collaborative learning, and sharing their ideas by using smart-phone. As a t-test results of learning attitude, the two groups showed statistically significant difference, the experimental group was higher average than the control group in terms of learning attitude. The robot smart learning system is effective for collaborative learning activities and maintaining learning motivation of elementary school girls.

  • By the rapid development ICTs, education is entering into a smart learning. Learners are put down the paper book, are learning by using a various smart devices, and at this moment emerged that learning system each of which contains numerous platforms. Platform-specific systems require a lot of time and money to applicable to heterogeneous platforms, and This phenomenon is exacerbated if system has a lot of learning contents. Learning system that supports cross-platform is needed for reduce the unnecessary waste of resources and provide effective learning content. In order to achieve this, the research must be preceded by a database model that numerous of existing learning content can be integrated without any unnecessary redundant. In this paper, suggests Ontology-based metadata model that can be integrate existing learning content as an alternative to database, and through this, Design and Implementation of smart learning system that support Heterogeneous platforms.
