소규모 분산망을 위한 RNG 기반 스캐터넷 구성 알고리즘 (RNG-based Scatternet Formation Algorithm for Small-Scale Ad-Hoc Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 RNG 기반의 스캐터넷 토폴로지 구성, 자기 치유 및 라우팅 경로의 최적화를 위한 알고리즘(RNG-FHR)을 제시하고, ns-2와 블루투스 확장인 blueware 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 알고리즘의 성능을 분석하였다. 소규모 분산망 환경에서 스캐터넷 구성, 노드의 링크 설정 및 자기 치유 관점에서 분석한 결과, 초기에는 이웃노드 발견을 위한 메시지 교환량이 증가하여 지연이 점차 증가하지만 시간이 지남에 따라 이웃노드 발견과 충분한 로컬 정보 교환에 따라 지연이 다소 줄어듦을 알 수 있다. 결국 블루투스 망을 RNG 기반으로 확장하여 소규모의 분산망에 적용하는 경우 소량의 메시지 교환과로컬 정보 교환으로 인해망 구성, 자기 치유 및 라우팅 경로의 최적화가 가능하여 성능과 구현측면에서 충분히 실현 가능함을 알 수 있다.

보육시설의 실외놀이 환경에 대한 사용자 평가 및 요구조사 (A Study on the Needs and Estimation of Users in the Playground of Child Care Facilities)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify playground types by characteristics of playground environment in child care facilities, to analyze the needs and estimation of users according to playground types. The subjects of this study were care-givers, who assist outdoor play activities of children and manage safety in playground, to estimate adequateness of playground's environment to children's outdoor plays and to report needs. The data were collected by field measurement survey for clarification playground environments in 21 child care facilities and structured-questionnaire for estimation and needs of 181 care-givers in them. The major results showed the following. 1) The playgrounds were clarified to five type according to number of child and size of playground. The five types include A-type as large-scale facility/small-size playground, B-type as small-scale facility/large-size playground, C-type as small-scale facility/small-size playground, D-type as middle-scale facility/large-size playground, and E-type as large-scale facility/large-size playground. 2) The adequateness of playground environment of D-type were estimate higher than others. C-type were estimated lower than other types in size and outdoor play areas organization of playground. 3) The care-givers in D-type and E-type wanted to install various play equipments, but the care-giver in C-type didn't wanted to install play equipment. 4) The various outdoor play areas were needed in D-type.

소규모 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험의 통계적 분석 (Statistical Analysis of a Small Scale Time-Course Microarray Experiment)

  • 소규모 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험이란 시점의 개수가 적은 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험으로서 현재까지 보고된 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험의 약 80%를 차지한다. 최근 들어 소규모 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험을 대상으로 하는 통계적 분석 방법이 몇 가지 제안되었다. 최근에 제안된 세 가지 방법들을 실제 소규모 경시적 마이크로어레이 실험자료에 적용하여 분석하고 모의실험 자료를 생성하여 각 방법들의 검정력과 위양성율을 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 낮은 위양성율을 보이는 STEM방법이 다른 방법에 비해서 우위에 있음이 드러났다.

High-Capacity and Robust Watermarking Scheme for Small-Scale Vector Data

  • For small-scale vector data, restrictions on watermark scheme capacity and robustness limit the use of copyright protection. A watermarking scheme based on robust geometric features and capacity maximization strategy that simultaneously improves capacity and robustness is presented in this paper. The distance ratio and angle of adjacent vertices are chosen as the watermark domain due to their resistance to vertex and geometric attacks. Regarding watermark embedding and extraction, a capacity-improved strategy based on quantization index modulation, which divides more intervals to carry sufficient watermark bits, is proposed. By considering the error tolerance of the vector map and the numerical accuracy, the optimization of the capacity-improved strategy is studied to maximize the embedded watermark bits for each vertex. The experimental results demonstrated that the map distortion caused by watermarks is small and much lower than the map tolerance. Additionally, the proposed scheme can embed a copyright image of 1024 bits into vector data of 150 vertices, which reaches capacity at approximately 14 bits/vertex, and shows prominent robustness against vertex and geometric attacks for small-scale vector data.

FPGA-Based Real-Time Multi-Scale Infrared Target Detection on Sky Background

  • In this paper, we propose multi-scale infrared target detection algorithm with varied filter size using integral image. Filter based target detection is widely used for small target detection, but it doesn't suit for large target detection depending on the filter size. When there are multi-scale targets on the sky background, detection filter with small filter size can not detect the whole shape of the large targe. In contrast, detection filter with large filter size doesn't suit for small target detection, but also it requires a large amount of processing time. The proposed algorithm integrates the filtering results of varied filter size for the detection of small and large targets. The proposed algorithm has good performance for both small and large target detection. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm requires a less processing time, since it use the integral image to make the mean images with different filter sizes for subtraction between the original image and the respective mean image. In addition, we propose the implementation of real-time embedded system using FPGA.

무한궤도 수차의 성능시험 (Performance Test of a Catapillar Track-Hydroturbine)

  • Current low head and small scale hydroturbines have limitations in the minimum required head and flow rate for efficient operation. This study attempts to develop a new concept hydroturbine which is expected to run efficiently even in very low head and small flow rate, so that the limitations on the conventional small scale hydropower could be alleviated and competition with other alternative energy sources in the economic respect could be attained. A small scale catapillar track- hydroturbine was fabricated and the performance test was carried out in a water tunnel over the head range of H = 0.8 m ~ 1.26 m. The peak turbine efficiency was 41.3% at the speed ratio of 0.6, and the turbine loss was mostly due to the friction at the chain drive used for power transmission from the runner to the shafts. This type of turbine is expected to become competitive when some improvement in the power transmission mechanism is made.

Small-scale effects on wave propagation in curved nanobeams subjected to thermal loadings based on NSGT

  • This study focuses on wave propagation analysis in the curved nanobeam exposed to different thermal loadings based on the Nonlocal Strain Gradient Theory (NSGT). Mechanical properties of the constitutive materials are assumed to be temperature-dependent and functionally graded. For modeling, the governing equations are derived using Hamilton's principle. Using the proposed model, the effects of small-scale, geometrical, and thermo-mechanical parameters on the dynamic behavior of the curved nanobeam are studied. A small-scale parameter, Z, is taken into account that collectively represents the strain gradient and the nonlocal parameters. When Z<1 or Z>1, the phase velocity decreases/increases, and the stiffness-softening/hardening phenomenon occurs in the curved nanobeam. Accordingly, the phase velocity depends more on the strain gradient parameter rather than the nonlocal parameter. As the arc angle increases, more variations in the phase velocity emerge in small wavenumbers. Furthermore, an increase of ∆T causes a decrease in the phase velocity, mostly in the case of uniform temperature rise rather than heat conduction. For verification, the results are compared with those available for the straight nanobeam in the previous studies. It is believed that the findings will be helpful for different applications of curved nanostructures used in nano-devices.

중소병원 간호관리자의 직무 스트레스 측정도구 개발 (Development of a Job Stress Measurement Tool for Nursing Managers in Small and Medium-Sized Hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop a tool to measure the job stress of nursing managers in small and medium-sized hospitals and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods: DeVellis' eight steps scale development process was applied. The initial questions were developed through a literature review and in-depth interviews, and content validity was evaluated by 13 experts. Data were collected from 193 nursing managers at small and medium-sized hospitals in Korea, 193 through exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and 192 through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Results: The scale consisted of 27 final items and seven factors, with a total variance of 66.76%. The CFA results were x2 =642.56, p<.001, GFI=.80, CFI=.92, and Cronbach's ⍺ for the overall scale was .82. Conclusion: The scale showed satisfactory validity and reliability, confirming its potential to become an appropriate tool for measuring the job stress of nursing managers in small and medium-sized hospitals.

Heating of a coronal loop by the evolution of the fine-scale magnetic discontinuity in the photosphere

  • We report a small-scale EUV bright loop associated with the evolution of the fine-scale magnetic discontinuity in the photosphere. Our analysis was carried out by using the high spatial resolution data taken with InfraRed Imaging Magnetograph (IRIM) and the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS). As a result, an extremely narrow dark lane of the intense horizontal magnetic field (width ~ 300 km) is detected parallel to the boundary of the magnetic pore, which is one of the footpoints of the small-scale bright coronal loop. We find that the variation of the net linear polarization inside the dark lane is closely related to the intensity variations of the coronal loop. Based on our results, we suggest that small-scale atmospheric heating such as bright coronal loop seen above the complex pore group may be strongly affected by the evolution of the fine-scale magnetic discontinuity in the photosphere. This is a nice example of solar atmospheric heatings associated with the fine-scale magnetic discontinuity in the photosphere.

소축적 지도제작을 위한 데이터 감축 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Data Reduction Techniques for Small Scale Map Production)

  • 수치지도 제작의 일반화 기법은 대축척 실측 지도를 이용한 소축척 편집 지도의 자동 제작과 수치 지도 데이터 베이스 구축 등의 활용 분야에 필수적 요소이다. 본 연구는 수작업으로 처리되고 있는 편집도의 제작을 자동화하기 위한 방안으로 디지탈 환경하에서의 일반화 기법에 대한 연구로서 Zero-Crossing알고리즘을 국립지리원 발행 l/5,000지도 6도엽에 포함되어 있는 전남 여수 일대의 해안선에 적용, 다양한 단순화 허용 범위에 의해 수치 지도를 제작하여 편집도와 도해적인 표현 방법에 대한 문제점을 비교 분석하였다. 또한, Zero-Crossing알고리즘에 의한 단순화의 효용성을 입증하기 위해 Douglas-Peucker알고리즘을 이용한 단순화 결과와 비교 분석을 하였으며, 단순화의 허용 범위별로 일반화가 이루어진 수치 지도와 수작업으로 제작된 편집도와의 비교를 통해 일반화된 Line에 대한 평가를 도출하고, 단순화 허용 범위의 선택에 따른 효율성을 판단하기 위해 일반화 처리 결과의 데이타 용량을 분석하였다.
