This paper presents ion-based micro vibration sensor for the ultra-high frequency vibration detection. Presented sensor uses the motion of anion and cation in an electrolyte. Electrolyte vibration sensors have the high shock survival characteristics and a simple read-out circuit because of the small mass and own charges of ions. Presented sensor measures the induced electric potential by the mechanical-electrical coupling. It consist of electrolyte chamber and detection electrode. Electrolyte chamber was fabricated by PDMS molding. Detection electrode was made of gold evaporation on pyrex glass. Size of electrolyte chamber was designed as $600{\times}600{\times}100um$. Detection electrode had 200nm-thick and 42um-gap. In the experimental study, 5.8M sodium Chloride (NaCl) solution was used as electrolyte in 36nl-chamber. Mechanical vibration was measured from 2kHz to 4MHz.

Spray dispersion in high pressure diesel engines have been simulated experimentally with a special emphasis on the effect of swirl by using a liquid injection technique. A constant volume chamber was designed to be rotatable in order to generate a continuous swirl and to have the flow field closely resembling a solid body rotation. Emulsified fuel was injected into the chamber and the developing process of fuel sprays was visualized. The effect of swirl on the spray dispersion was quantified by calculating non-dimensionalized dispersion area according to the spray tip penetration length. The results show that the effect of swirl on the spray dispersion is different between short and long spray penetrations. For short range of spray tip penetration, the effect of swirl on spray dispersion is quite small. However, as the spray tip is penetrated into longer distance in spray chamber, the effect of swirl on spray dispersion becomes larger. These results can be used as a basic data for designing combustion chamber and injection system of direct injection diesel engine.
Many studies for improving the railway vehicle's performance and comfort such as speed, weight and noise are currently in progress. Improving the structural characteristics of the vehicle for greater noise insulation is considered important for reducing disturbance due to noise, but measuring transmission loss entails large costs. This study explores an alternative method for estimating and measuring the railway vehicle's transmission loss that involves on applying the numerical analysis coupled with scaled reverberation chamber measurement. The transmission loss measurement using scaled reverberation chamber was performed after the compensation value was found through 1mm thickness(1t) specimen. For numerical analysis, a commercially available acoustics solver VA ONE was used. The proposed method is found to lead to transmission loss measurement comparable to the measurements based on large-scale reverberation chamber. Thus, it can be argued that a reliable method has been developed for measuring railway vehicle's transmission loss.
Microsystem technology has been applied to space technology and became one of the enabling technology by which low cost and high efficiency are achievable. Micro propulsion system is a key technology in the miniature satellite because micro satellite requires very small and precise thrust force for maneuvering and attitude control. In this paper research on micro solid propellant thruster is reported. Micro solid propellant thruster has four basic components; micro combustion chamber, micro nozzle, solid propellant and micro igniter. In this research igniter, solid propellant and combustion chamber are focused. Micro igniter was fabricated through typical micromachining and evaluated. The characteristic of solid propellant was investigated to observe burning characteristic and to obtain burning velocity. Change of thrust force and the amount of energy loss following scale down at micro combustion chamber were estimated by numerical simulation based on empirical data and through the calculation normalized specific impulses were compared to figure out the efficiency of combustion chamber.
In this study, an effective echo-suppression and cancellation technique using reflectors in semi-anechoic chamber and time-domain measurement is proposed. By using the proposed technique, the uniformity of electric field in QZ(Quiet Zone) could be improved and the antenna test environments similar to the fully anechoic chamber could be accomplished. The performances of the proposed test environments is verified with the simulated and measured data. And it is demonstrated that this test environment is possible to use the measuring the radiational characteristics of a small antenna in VHF band.

It is not efficient and scarcely out of the question to use commercial expensive electron beam lithography system widely used for semiconductor fabrication process for the manufacturing application field of various devices in the small business scope. Then scanning electron microscope based electron beam machining system is maybe regarded as a powerful model can be used for it simply. To get a complete suite of thus proper system, proper chamber with high vacuum condition is necessarily required more than anything else to modify scanning electron microscope. In this study, special chamber unit using rotary pump and diffusion pump to obtain high vacuum degree was designed and manufactured and various evaluation tests fur recognize the vacuum characteristic were accomplished.
Various factors such as sampling height in the chamber, sampling interval, sampling time at daytime and the effects of pedoturbation on methane emission during chamber installation were evaluated using a simplified closed static chamber method to measure methane flux in paddy soils. Sampling height of the chamber for representative samples was 65cm. An additional DC fan was required to attain an even methane gradient in the chamber. Considering the change of methane concentration and air temperature in the chamber, sampling is recommended to finish within 30 minutes after starting sampling. The aim of setting DC fan in the chamber was to get the thermal equilibrium in the chamber as well as the representative samples. Suitable time to collect the gas samples representing the day's methane flux was 0900~1200 hours. Gas sampling was possible even after installation of small chambers if the elapsed time was more than 6 hours and supporting stand would be to be added to minimize pedoturbation.
The purpose of this study is to measure such parameters as TMR, OAR, TSF for small beams ranging in size from 12.5mm to 40mm by diode, ionization chamber, film, TLD and to determine proper detectors for the measurement of 6MV small x-ray beams. Diode and film show good results within 2% error for the TMR measurement of the beam as small as beam with diameter 12.5mm. Diode and film have excellent spatial resolution in the OAR measurement and the comparison between two detectors shows the error within 3%. But TMR and OAR can not be measured accurately by the ionization chambers. The TSF by diode and TLD records 0.890.96 for the beams with diameter 12.5mm 40mm. The TSF determined by 0.125cc ionization chamber and markus ionization chamber for the larger beams than the beams with diameter 25mm agrees within 2% comparing with that of diode and TLD.
The structural characteristics of a small scale rice polisher was analyzed to improve its performance. Spraying characteristic of nozzles used for rice polishing was also analyzed by a machine vision system. The internal pressure of the polishing chamber was measured according to outlet resistance, water spraying, and roller shaft speed. In addition, the performance of the rice polisher was evaluated to improve it in the basis of internal pressure in polishing chamber, whiteness, and broken rice ratio of clean rice according to the operating conditions. Actual nozzle discharge rate and drop size were 125 cc/min and 86~97 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. In the case of water spraying on rices, the internal pressure showed 4.9~9.8N/$\textrm{cm}^2$ increase. broken rice ratio decreased, and there was no difference in whiteness. The internal pressure inueased up to two times with the increase of the outlet resistance. Also, the pressure at the upper part of screen was one and half times as high as the pressure at the lower part. In the case of water spraying rate of 150 cc/min, the roller shaft speed of 850 rpm resulted in no difference in whiteness and decrease of 0.3% in broken rice ratio, comparing to the roller shaft speed of 950 rpm.
