  • The mobile payment system has not only changed the payment pattern but also has improved the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individuals' quality of life by saving their energy, reducing the risk of taking cash, and enabling them to give more time to businesses and do international business. Besides, with the current advancement in the Internet as well as the digital transformation, SMEs are being forced to adopt mobile payment systems (MPS). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of technological-organizational-environmental (TOE) determinants on the adoption of MPS and its impact on SMEs' firm performance operating in Ghana. This research employed a closed-ended questionnaire to collect data from January 2020 - April 2020. This study used a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach using SmartPLS 3.0 for path analysis of 145 responses. The findings of the study include the statistically significant effects of technological (relative advantage and compatibility), organizational (top management support and employees' readiness), and environmental (social influence and competitive pressure) factors on the adoption of MPS. Furthermore, this study also proved the positive and statistically significant effect of MPS on SMEs' performance. This study demonstrated that the TOE factor explains 70% variations in the adoption of MPS.

The aim of this study is to examine the factors influencing e-commerce adoption. This study uses the method of quantitative data collection based on a questionnaire survey of SMEs in Indonesia. The research relies on Regional Project stipulations regarding Business Development in Indonesia, to capture businesses with a range of 5 to 100 employees that are classified as SMEs. This study randomly chose 100 SMEs in Indonesia from the IndoNetwork database. Partial least square (PLS) structural model data processing was used for path coefficients analysis. Structural equation modeling is applied in this study to analyze the determinant factors on the e-commerce adoption. The study findings reveal that four factors, namely, perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support, significantly influence the adoption of e-commerce, whereas customer/supplier pressure does not have influence. So, this study concludes that perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support had a significant and positive relationship with e-commerce adoption. Meanwhile, customer/supplier pressure had no effect on the e-commerce adoption of by Indonesia SMEs.

  • COVID-19 has spread across the world in the last two years, confining people to their homes and shutting down businesses and markets. The world is currently experiencing a catastrophic economic and social crisis. To benefit people and to protect them, industries invented new products. These products were made by small and medium-sized businesses across the globe. In South Asia, there was also a rigorous lockdown, people were laid off, and SMEs adopted E-commerce to assist clients and customers. Therefore, the study aims to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on E-commerce adoption through open innovation strategies in South Asian countries. 500 respondents were selected through an online questionnaire to collect data from different countries of South Asia. The prominent countries are; India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The results of the study show that perceived compatibility and complexity have a positive influence on E-commerce adoption. In normal circumstances, however, the open innovation model is feasible. Knowledge and experience sharing and management attitude have a moderate impact on E-commerce adoption. These results are beneficial for researchers and SME managers in South Asia to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and increase the number of skilled people employed. This study suggests that SMEs should hire skilled workers to upgrade their systems.

Results Green Chemistry theory, which argues for the reduction or removal of harmfulness in chemicals throughout their entire life-cycle, has been spreading, and major developed countries, such as the US and Denmark, have developed and operate programs to provide reliable chemical information to help replace hazardous chemicals. Korea has also been conducting studies as like eco-innovation project. Through this project the "Alternative Chemical Search program," has been developed, distributed, and operated since 2011 to provide reliable information to small and medium-sized businesses that have difficulties collecting information to ensure conformity to international regulations. The program provides information that includes the regulations of major countries and Korea, information on 340 alternative chemicals, 70 application cases, and 1:1 consulting. Conclusions The Alternative Chemical Search program is expected to contribute to the establishment of response systems for regulation of Korean small and medium-sized businesses, and it also will be used to provide basic data for Korean hazardous chemical regulation, together with the Act on the Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances and the Chemical Control act, making it possible to establish an infrastructure for Green Chemistry in Korea and to increase national competitiveness.

  • Structure and/or fluid analysis is gradually increased by an essential design process in the small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) because of the needs for a rapid design process and the certification about the supplement of the parts by the large business (LB). In this paper, we developed the web-based ezSIM platform installed in the resources integrated system server. The ezSIM platform is based on the heterogeneous linux and windows operating system for the user-friendly connection with the part of the analysis for the SMBs. The procedure of the structure/fluid analysis service module using the public software and the license-free open code in the ezSIM platform was explained. The convenience of the ezSIM platform service was presented by the reaction rate of the graphic motion compared with that of a local PC and the solving and pre-post processing interface compared with that of the KISTI supercomputer. The web-based ezSIM platform service was identified as a useful and essential platform to the SMBs for the usage of the structure and/or fluid analysis procedure.

  • The damages from security accidents continue to increase as technology leaks from suppliers cause risks to the management of large companies, which are their customers, and their image and reliability to fall. However, the current industrial structure is practically impossible for large companies to form their own businesses and strategic alliances with business partners are essential, but it is changing into an industrial structure where the exchange of information is increased and the dependence of the information system is maximized, as well as legal demands and demands from stakeholders are increasing due to the complexity of the work process and the strengthening of security-related laws. The status of technology protection of small and medium-sized enterprises shows that they are not equipped with a security system due to relatively poor environment and financial difficulties compared to large enterprises, whereas the industrial structure between large and small business partners is indispensable for sharing the IT system, and the security system of large business, which is a customer company, should be improved by considering the fact that it is impossible to maintain security system between large businesses. Thus, the government intends to examine the system for shared growth of small businesses and the model for evaluating the capabilities of various agencies for information protection, and propose measures to introduce the certification system for small business partners.
