국내 소수력발전 기술개발 현황과 전망 (Overview and Trend of Small Hydropower Development in Korea)

  • We have studied the prearranged plan and the economy of a candidate site for the development of small hydro power. And also we have confirmed its economy by suggesting the technology of the unmanned operation and the selection of the water turbine generator which has a great efficiency, working rate and suitability to the topographical characteristics of various development sites, for example, irrigation reservoirs, water works pipes, sewage systems and cooling water of a steam power station. We proposed some opinions such as the better improvement of small hydropower industry the people' view, cooperation among industry/university/ research institutes, remote control/maintenance and goverment's legislature and supporting system etc.

소용량 EHD 발전에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Small Capacity EHD Power Generation)

  • This paper describes an experimental study that was performed to determine the limiting factors on the power output in the closed cycle Electro-Hydro-Dynamic generator of small capacity. A corona discharge for producing unipolar charged particles used as the charging method. The experiment demonstrated that the corona method of charging was an efficient and effective means of producing unipolar charged particles. Four factors having an effect on the power output characteristics of EHD generator are discussed and examined experimentally, using methyl alcohol and kerosene as working fluides; a. The conversion length between attractor and collector. b. The corona current of Emitter. c. The flow velocity of working fluids. d. Load resistance. This results are as follows; 1) There in a critical value in conversion length for its maximum power output. 2) Power output increases almost linearly with corona current and flow velocity. 3) There is the critical value of load resistance producing a maximum power output. 4) Kerosene is known better working fluid than Methyl alcohol in this EHD generator.

실험 및 CFD에 의한 가이드베인 개도에 따른 소형 튜블러 수차의 성능특성 (Performance Characteristics of Small Tubular-type Hydroturbine according to the Guide Vane Opening Angle by Experiment and CFD)

  • As the alternative energy, renewable energy should have been developing by many techniques, in order to substitute the fossil fuel which will be disappeared in the near future. One of the small hydropower generator, main concept of tubular turbine is based on using the different water pressure levels in pipe lines, energy which was initially wasted by using a reducing valve at the end of the pipeline, is collected by turbine in the hydro power generator. A propeller shaped hydro turbine has been used in order to use this renewable pressure energy in order to acquire basic design data of tubular type hydraulic turbine, output power, head, efficiency characteristics due to the guide vane opening angle are examined in detail. First, it ensures the reliance of CFD by that of compared with experiment data. After all, the results of performance characteristics of the CFD and experiment show to confirm the data that power, head and efficiency of less than 4%, 2% and 5% respectively. Moreover influences of pressure, tangential and axial velocity distributions on turbine performance are investigated.

  • We present our first attempt at understanding the dual impact of the large-scale density and velocity environment on the formation of very first astrophysical objects in the Universe. Following the recently developed quasi-linear perturbation theory on this effect, we introduce the publicly available initial condition generator of ours, BCCOMICS (Baryon Cold dark matter COsMological Inital Condition generator for Small scales), which provides so far the most self-consistent treatment of this physics beyond the usual linear perturbation theory. From a suite of uniform-grid simulations of N-body+hydro+BCCOMICS, we find that the formation of first astrophysical objects is strongly affected by both the density and velocity environment. Overdensity and streming-velocity (of baryon against cold dark matter) are found to give positive and negative impact on the formation of astrophysical objects, which we quantify in terms of various physical variables.

하수처리장의 방류수를 이용한 일체형 발전장치의 성능평가 및 경제성 분석 (Performance Evaluation and Economic Analysis on the Integrated Small Hydro Power Generation Device Using a Discharged Water of Sewage Treatment Plant)

  • 하수처리장의 방류수는 낙차를 이용하는 기존 발전 방식으로는 소수력발전에 대한 경제성이 없어 버려지는 물로 인식되어져 왔다. 국내 대다수의 하수처리장 방류수로는 2m 미만의 낙차를 형성하고 있고 유량이 지속적이며 변동이 크지 않다는 점을 고려할 때, 저낙차 조건에서도 안정적인 전력 생산과 효율을 유지할 수 있는 소수력 발전장치 개발이 시급히 요구된다. 본 논문은 저낙차의 유수 특성을 갖는 하수처리장 방류수로에 적용 가능한 일체형 소수력 발전장치의 개발을 완료하여 발전장치에 대한 성능 평가 및 결과를 분석하였다. 그리고 실제 적용을 위한 경제성과 활용방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과, 발전기 효율은 92%이며 전력량은 10kWh로서 경제성의 경우 B/C를 1.0 이상 확보할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 일체형 발전장치의 운영수준을 정격출력의 80% 이상으로 유지할 경우 경제성 확보가 가능하여 23년차 이후에는 투자비를 회수하여 이익이 발생하는 것으로 확인하였다. 일체형 소수력 발전장치는 하수처리장의 방류수뿐만 아니라 이와 유사한 유수 특성을 갖는 시설에 확대 적용할 경우 긍정적인 효과가 기대된다.

  • This paper presents the development of 10 kW permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) for small hydropower plants considering flow rates and net head. The initial and detailed design are determined using a load distribution method (LDM) which is a well-known method for designing an electric machine and a 2D-FEA which is performed for more accurate analysis of PMSG. The characteristic analysis results of proposed model with straight line magnet are satisfied with the initial model with curved magnet. Finally, the analysis and the design results are confirmed by the experimental results.

  • This paper is about optimal flywheel capacity estimation for Ullueng-do power system. The power system of Ullueng-do has some differences with other island power system in Korea. It includes wind generator, hydro-generators as well as diesel generators. There are some problems on 600kW wind generator. Because of frequent drop of wind generator, the Ulleung-do power system have been threatened on frequency. The power frequency is 60Hz, and it should be between 59.9 and 60.1Hz. However, since the electrical inertia is small and the weight of wind generation is relatively high, generator drop of wind generation might make the power frequency out of boundary. In this paper, the flywheel energy storage system is assumed to be installed on Ulleung-do power system. Then, the maximum wind generation capacity and the optimal superconducting flywheel energy storage system capacity is estimated by the transient stability simulations.

수력발전소 IED의 디지털 보호 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on Digital Protection Algorithm of IED for Hydroelectric Generating Unit)

  • Generator of hydroelectric generating unit is to be protected by the digital protection IED. Now, any IED of large capacity for hydro power plant was not developed by domestic technology. This is because it is required for the generator of the high reliability technology and considered as due to the sale of the market of IED device is small. However, the protection IED must be develop by domestic technology to meet the advanced needs of the construction and replacement of electrical equipment in accordance with the new power plant development. In this paper, a digital algorithms for protection IED of large size of hydroelectric generating unit were designed. The algorithms consist of the stator protection, anti-motoring, overexcitation and loss of excitation. The performance of the algorithms were evaluated by using the simulation data collected from the PSCAD/EMTDC software. From test results, it can be seen that the developed algorithms were not maloperation.

  • 분산형 전원이 전력계통에 연계됨에 따라 역조류, 보호협조, 계통 동기화, 전기품질 문제 등 여러 가지 문제를 야기한다. 이에 따라 전력회사에서는 분산형 전원의 계통연계 기술 기준을 제시하고 해당 분산형 전원의 계통 연계에 대한 기술 검토를 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 동기발전기형 2500KVA 소수력발전기 2대의 배전계통 연계에 대한 기술적 검토를 수행하였으며 해당 분산형 전인이 동기발전기임을 고려하여 계통연계시 상시전압변동 및 보호방식에 대해 집중 분석하였다. 먼저 소수력발전기가 연계되는 지점에서의 기존 선로 및 전력설비의 여건과 소수력발전기의 출력용량 및 역률을 고려하여 연계 지점에서의 전압변동을 검토하여 적절한 연계방식을 제시한다. 그리고 시간대별 소수력발전기의 발전량과 해당 배전선로의 부하량을 고려하여 기 설치된 보호계전기에 의한 단독운전 검출 능력을 검토하고자 한다.
