The Government is trying to increase total food grain yield to meet national self sufficiency by means of increasing unit yield as well as extending crop land, and this year he set the target of 321,000 hectare of forest to clear for cropping. This study was carried to investigate the most efficient method of clearing hillock by bulldozer, and successful method to develope yielding potential of newly cleared land in short term. Since the conventional land clearing method is just earth leveling and root removing neglecting top soil treatment, the growth of crop was poor and farmer tends not to care the land. The top-soil-furrowing method is applied through out this study, that is advantageous especially for the land having shallow top soil and low fertility like Korean forest. In this study, various operating method were tried to find out most efficient method separately in connection with the land slope less than 25 percent and over, and several fertilizing methods to develop yielding potential. The results are as follows; 1) For the natural land slope utilization method, applicable to the land having less than 25 percent slope, reverse operating was more efficient than using forward gear of bulldozer. The operating time was 3 hour 32 minutes and 36 seconds using forward gear was 2 hour 32 minutes and 30 seconds for reverse gear operation per 1,000 square meter. 2) Bulldozer having angle blade adjustment needed 7hr 15min. for constructing of terrace per 10a compaire with the one having angle & tilt adjustment needed 6hr 4min for same operations. Specially there is significant difference for operation time of first period (earth cutting) such as bulldozer having angle blade adjustment needed 3hr 56min compaired with the one having angle & tilt adjustment 3hr 59min. In construction of terrace, the bull-dozer having tilting and angle blade adjustment was most suitable and performed efficiently. 3) For the fertilizer application treatment, the grass (Ladino clover) yield in first year was almost same as ordinary field's in the plot applied(N.P.K+lime+manure) while none fertilizer plot showed one tenth of it, and (N.P.K.+lime) applied plot yielded on third. 4) The effect of different land clearing method to yield showed significant difference between each treatment especially in the first year, and the conventional method was the lowest. In the second year, still conventional terracing plot yielded only half of ordinary field while the other plots showed as same as ordinary field's. 5) The downward top soil treatment plot showed most rapid improvement in soil structure during one year physio chemically, it showed increase in pH rate and organic composition, and the soil changed gradually from loam to sand-loam and the moisture content increased against the pF rate, and it gives good condition to grow hay due to the increase of field water capacity with higher available water content. 6) Since the soil of tested area was granite, the rate of soil errosion was increased about 2 to 5 percent influencing in soil structure more sand reducing clay content, and an optimum contour farming method should be prepared as a counter measure of errosion.
The objective of this study is to analyze the flora and forest vegetation of trails with high visitor density at Molundae. Nine quadrats of $20{\times}20m$ were selected for the survey. The survey was conducted from April to October 2010. The obtained results are summarized as follows. Plot1, plot2, plot3, plot4, plot6, and plot7 were located at slopes of $5{\sim}20^{\circ}$, 17~40m above sea level, and were formed with the colony of Japanese black pine(Pinus thunbergii Parl) and Japanese black pine(Pinus thunbergii Parl)-white oak(Quercus aliena Blume). Tree layer had the height of 8~20m, and the coverage of 50~70%, while subtree layer had the height of 3-8m, and the coverage 30~80%. On the other hand, shrub layer had the height of 2~4m, and the coverage of 10~30%, and herb had the height of 0.2~1m and coverage 5~20%. Plot5, plot8, and plot9 were located at the summit areas of 57~78m above sea level, and $0^{\circ}$ slope. Japanese black pine(Pinus thunbergii Parl) formed a community there. Tree layer was 8~20m high, and covered 60~70%, of the area, and subtree layer was 6~8m high, and coverage 30~40%. Shrub layer had the height of 2~6m, and the coverage of 30%, while herb layer had the height 0.2~2m, and the coverage 20-80%. Succession does not occur in the surveyed areas which have high visitor density. Artificially planted sawtooth oak(Quercus acutissima) trees were found to disturb succession and formation of multi-layer vegetation, resulting in the ecologically unstable forest. Therefore, the researcher suggested the strategy of managing the vegetation in the conclusion. This study has the limit in that the plots selected for the survey reflected only part of various trails in the Molundae area. It is necessary to suggest the vegetation management plans by selecting more diverse trail areas in consideration of the visitor density and behaviors, and analyzing the changes in vegetation quantitatively in order to manage the vegetation in urban areas damaged by visitors more effectively.

This study was compared to the differences in the habitat, species composition and community structure of revegetation and nature area in Korea. Plant number in plot of revegetation and nature area was 10.3 and 15.0 taxa, respectively, and coverage was 90.6 and 88.1%, respectively. Revegetation and nature area was very heterogeneous, due to low similarity index (0.38) and less common plants. Festuca arundinacea frequency (56.7%) was highest in revegetation area, and Oplismenus undulatifolius frequency (66.7%) was highest in nature area. Plant appearing of revegetation and nature area was 111 and 136 taxa, respectively. Herb appearing of revegetation and nature areas was 93 (83.3%) and 72 (52.9%) taxa, respectively, tree was 18 (16.2%) and 64 (47.1%) taxa, respectively. Plant communities of revegetation area was classified into Lespedeza bicolor, Indigofera amblyantha, Alnus sibirica, Festuca arundinacea, Eragrostis curvula, Miscanthus sinensis, Humulus japonicus, Setaria faberii, Rudbeckia bicolor, Pueraria lobata community. Plant communities of nature area was classified into Pinus densiflora, Quercus aliena, Quercus acutissima, Quercus variabilis, Quercus serrata, Castanea crenata, Pinus rigida, Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus tomentiglandulosa, Phyllostachys bambusoides community. Habitat, species composition and community structure of revegetation and nature area showed a large difference.
This study was carried out to investigate the early growth of revegetation plants by microorganisms in slope of forest road in Jinju area. The results were summarized as follows; The chemical properties of forest soil were changed by microorganisms. Soil pH, organic mater content, concentrations of total nitrogen, available phosphorus, exchangeable cations and CEC in treated plot were increased more than those of controlled plot in the surface soil. It showed that the availability of nutrients including nitrogen and phosphorus was increased by an application of microorganisms in the soil. The coverage rates showed statistically significant differences between plots (p<0.05). The germination rates of woody plants were better in treated plot than in controlled plot. The results indicate that the application of microorganisms would be significantly contributed for the early growth of revegetation plants on slope of forest road.

The aim of this study was to examine the changes in the initial tree growth characteristics of Q. variabilis planted in forest fire-damaged areas treated with soil moisturizers such as biochar and to identify the factors that affect tree growth. To evaluate the effectiveness of soil moisture treatment in the area planted with QV, an experimental plot was created according to the treatment method (spread and mix) and treatment ratio (0, 4, and 40 t/ha). The survival rate of QV was 20% higher in the treatment plot than in the control plot. The height and root collar diameter (RCD)growths of QV were high on the northern slope with spread treatment and on the southern slope with mix treatment. The relative growth rate (RGR) according to the soil moisturizer treatment method was higher in the mix treatment, showing a significant difference in RCD. The northern slope had a higher RGR and significant growth rate. This suggests that the growth improvement effect may depend on the soil moisturizer treatment method. The aspect or treatment method affectsthe drying conditions of the soil, which in turn affects its moisture content or nutrient dynamics. The present research results can be used to establish soil moisturizer treatment standards that are suitable for growth purposes. In addition, this study demonstrates that biochar treatment can be considered as an effective alternative to boost biomass and facilitate early restoration of forest fire-damaged areas.

Soil erosion was investigated to find out difference in amount of soil eroded from slope land at early stage of young grasses and at later stage with sufficient cover with different slopes. The six experimental plots were formed on 8$^{\circ}$, 10$^{\circ}$, 15$^{\circ}$, 20$^{\circ}$, and 25$^{\circ}$, with 2m width and 20m length located at the Hwak Kok Ri, Chun Sung Gun, Kang Weon Do. The amount of soil eroded and run-off were collected from 1. May 1987. to 30. October 1988, growing with grasses sowed 2. September 1987. The results were as follows : 1. The amount of soil eroded from the plots except 8$^{\circ}$ plot exceeded the allowable soil erosion with 14 ton/ha during the land formuing before establishment of sufficient surface cover with grasses. Therefore, proper soil conservation practice should be recommeneed. 2. The amount of soil eroded increased exponentially with increased slope as 1.24 times for 15$^{\circ}$1.65 times for 20*, and 2.94 times for 25$^{\circ}$, m comparing with standared 10$^{\circ}$ polt. 3. The erosion occurred mainly by high density of rainfall exceeding lOOmm as consecutive precipitation during the raining peried or accompanied by typhoon passing. 4. The significant soil erosion, when the land covering ratio was over 95% after seeding of grass, was recorded only by the single continuous storms over lOOmm of concentrated precpitation, of which amounts were 1/73~/250 of the allowable soil erosion. 5. The amount of soil erosion from the plots with sufficient surface cover with grasses increased as the slope increased however the amounts were small enough to be neglected. 6. Desolation by soil erosion would be minor problem up to the slope of 20$^{\circ}$ when the mountainous area developed to the grassland with sufficient cover. But it could be concerned on the turn to the hare land by the treading of livestocks with the land slope over 25$^{\circ}$. 7. The run-off of rainfall increased by the increament of slope but it was not exponentially increased. 8. The run-off of rainfall after seeding of grass reduced by 20% in comparison with the run-off of rainfall before seeding, which might be due to infiltration of rainfall promoted by the grass roots.

This paper analyzes data on the composition, status, diversity, and distribution pattern of invasive forest undergrowth in a protected area (Khadimnagar National Park) of Northeastern Bangladesh. Assessment was done by means of stratified random sampling to diversify the invasive forest undergrowth species. For vegetation survey, 45 plots were taken randomly in ($2m{\times}2m$) circular plot from three topographical regions namely top of the hill, middle slope and plain land (15 plots from each region) and a total of 715 individuals, 22 invasive species belonging to 17 families were recorded from the study site. Among invasive species, shrubs constitute 10 species, herbs 9 species, and vines 3 species respectively. Mass number of invasive undergrowth species was grows in plain land (45.45%) followed by middle slope (31.82%). Based on the survey, invasive undergrowth plants of study areas were also categorized into three degrees of invasiveness e.g., highly invasive, moderately invasive and potentially invasive. Herbs, shrubs, and vines constitute the highest density at Chromolaema odorata (Linn.) King. (1.09), relative density at Chromolaema odorata (Linn.) King. 6.85%; highest and lowest frequency was calculated at Cassia alata L. (64.44%) and Diplazium esculentum (24.44%); for relative frequency the highest was Cassia alata L., which occupies 6.64%. Determination of the abundance of the different species revealed that Cassia alata L., constitutes (3.36) followed by Pteris cretica Wilsonii (3.14) of the area. The presence of invasive undergrowth species always reduced the number of associated species. Therefore, an extensive in-depth long-term investigation, proper policy formulation and management interventions and further study and continuous monitoring on their impacts need to be triggered targeting the control of the invasive undergrowth species of this protected area. In this aspect, national and international organization could help to conserve its biodiversity.

Continuous and periodic data acquisition must be preceded to maintain and manage the river facilities effectively. Adapting the existing general facilities methods, which include river surveying methods such as terrestrial laser scanners, total stations, and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), has limitation in terms of its costs, manpower, and times to acquire spatial information since the river facilities are distributed across the wide and long area. On the other hand, the Mobile Mapping System (MMS) has comparative advantage in acquiring the data of river facilities since it constructs three-dimensional spatial information while moving. By using the MMS, 184,646,009 points could be attained for Anyang stream with a length of 4 kilometers only in 20 minutes. Levee points were divided at intervals of 10 meters so that about 378 levee cross sections were generated. In addition, the waterside maximum and average slope could be automatically calculated by separating slope plane form levee point cloud, and the accuracy of RMSE was confirmed by comparing with manually calculated slope. The reference slope was calculated manually by plotting point cloud of levee slope plane and selecting two points that use location information when calculating the slope. Also, as a result of comparing the water side slope with slope standard in basic river plan for Anyang stream, it is confirmed that inspecting the river facilities with the MMS point cloud is highly recommended than the existing river survey.
The actual condition of farmstead, mainly livestock facility, was surveyed in ChungChongBukDo in order to find out factors and problems of farmstead planning design. From the data collected, a type, plot, size and scope of farmstead, relationship of house and farmstead, topography, climate, proprietor's opinion on them were analyzed or obtained as the basic design criteria for planning: designs. The best type of farmsteads was individual farm having livestock facilities. They were mostly breeding a kind of livestock without their plan and Bone planning at residing area. The south aspect of the facility was extremely much and slope of the land was mostly 15。 below. Wind blows from East-South in summer and winter wind are West-North extremely much. Sun heat was mostly above 6 hours. In the case of collective and composite farmstead, proprietors wanted that a head of cow has 1,000-3,000 pyeong, the area of facility has 1,500-2,000 pyeong, total area of farmstead has 45,000-400,000 pyeong and an estimated expense is 0.2 - 1.5 billion won. Farmstead planning design was proposed through field survey results and contents of'references. Examples of farmstead planning design were composite and concentrated type and existed according to the situation of road(North, South, East, and West).
The spatial distribution of geographical distances at five natural populations of Camellia japonica in Busan, Korea was studied. The four plots (Mollundae, Gadeok-do, Du-do, and Jwiseum) of C. japonica were uniformly distributed in the forest community and only one plot (Amnam-dong) was aggregately distributed in the forest community. Morisita index is related to the patchiness index showed that the plot $20m{\times}50m$ had an overly steep slope when the area was larger than $20m{\times}20m$, which indicated that the degree of aggregation increased significantly with increasing quadrat sizes, while the patchiness indices did not change from the plot $5m{\times}10m$ to $10m{\times}10m$. The spatial structure was quantified by Moran's I, a coefficient of spatial autocorrelation. Ten of the significant values (76.9%) were positive, indicating similarity among individuals in the first 4 distance classes (80 m), i.e., pairs of individuals with dissimilarity characteristics can separate by more than 100 m.
