암반사면 변위자료 분석 및 파괴시간 예측 소프트웨어 개발 (Development of a New Software to Analyze Displacement and Predict Failure Time of the Rock Slope)

  • 본 연구에서는 암반사면에서 실시간으로 측정된 시간에 대한 변위 자료를 분석하여 암반사면의 잠재적인 파괴시간을 예측하는 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 소프트웨어는 파괴시간을 추정하기 위한 역속도법, 로그시간-로그속도법, 로그속도-로그가속도법, 비선형최소자승법을 적용하는 네 가지 모듈로 구성되었다. 소프트웨어는 해석모듈 및 GUI의 효율적인 구현을 위하여 VisualBasic.NET 언어를 이용하여 MS Visual Studio 플랫폼에서 제작되었다. 소프트웨어의 기능 및 성능은 기존의 실내 모형사면 실험으로 얻은 변위자료를 사용하여 검토되었으며 지수형 거동을 보이는 활동면에서 실제 파괴시간과 유사한 파괴시간을 예측하였음을 확인하였다.

Distribution and evolution of residual voids in longwall old goaf

  • In this paper, simulation tests were conducted with similar materials to study the distribution of residual voids in longwall goaf. Short-time step loading was used to simulate the obvious deformation period in the later stage of arch breeding. Long-time constant loading was used to simulate the rheological stage of the arch forming. The results show that the irregular caving zone is the key area of old goaf for the subsidence control. The evolution process of the stress arch and fracture arch in stope can be divided into two stages: arch breeding stage and arch forming stage. In the arch breeding stage, broken rocks are initially caved and accumulated in the goaf, followed by the step deformation. Arch forming stage is the rheological deformation period of broken rocks. In addition, under the certain loads, the broken rock mass undergoes single sliding deformation and composite crushing deformation. The void of broken rock mass decreases gradually in short-time step loading stage. Under the water lubrication, a secondary sliding deformation occurs, leading to the acceleration of the broken rock mass deformation. Based on above research, the concept of equivalent height of residual voids was proposed, and whose calculation equations were developed. Finally, the conceptual model was verified by the field measurement data.

  • The objective of the research stated here was aimed at providing the information needed to establish the Korean Seismic Design Code Recommendations and Guides for precast concrete (P.C) large panel apartment buildings. This was accomplished by investigation and analysis of the response of P.C large panel structures subjected to shaking table excitation simulating earthquake ground motion. one of the test specimens used was 1/3-scaled 3-story box P.C model provided by Sam-Hwan Camus Corporation. The 4m $\times$4m shaking table was used to simulate the earthquake ground motion. the employed input accelerogram was the one recorded as Taft N21E component and the peak ground acceleration(PGA) was scaled depending on the desired level of seismic severity and the time according to dynamic similitude rule. Based on results obtained from shaking table test of this P.C model, the following conclusions were drawn . (1) As far as test specimen is concerned, the seismic safety factors turns out to be 7~8. (2)P.C model has damping ratio of about8% which is twice larger than in-situ R.C. structure. And (3)this model has global displacement ductility ratio of 2~3 through the energy dissipation by opening and sliding of joints.

Modeling of triple concave friction pendulum bearings for seismic isolation of buildings

  • Seismic isolated building structures are examined in this study. The triple concave friction pendulum (TCFP) is used as a seismic isolation system which is easy to be manufactured and enduring more than traditional seismic isolation systems. In the TCFP, take advantage of weight which pendulum carrying and it's geometry in order to obtain desirable result of seismic isolation systems. These systems offer advantage to buildings which subject to severe earthquake. This is result of damping force of earthquake by means of their internal constructions, which consists of multiple surfaces. As the combinations of surfaces upon which sliding is occurring change, the stiffness and effective friction change accordingly. Additionally, the mentioned the TCFP is modeled as of a series arrangement of the three single concave friction pendulum (SCFP) bearings. A two dimensional- and eight- story of a building with and without isolation system are used in the time history analysis in order to investigate of the effectiveness of the seismic isolation systems on the buildings. Results are compared with each other to emphasize efficiency of the TCFP as a seismic isolation device against the other friction type isolation system like single and double concave surfaces. The values of the acceleration, floor displacement and isolator displacement obtained from the results by using different types of the isolation bearings are compared each other. As a result, the findings show that the TCFP bearings are more effective devices for isolation of the buildings against severe earthquakes.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 프리캐스트 콘크리트(P.C) 대형판 아파트 구조물에 대한 우리나라 내진설계기준안 및 지침을 수립하기 위해 필요로 하는 정보를 취득하는데 있다. 이것은 실제 지진과 유사한 진동을 발생시키는 진동대를 사용하여 P.C대형판 구조물의 거동을 분석관찰함으로써 달성되었다. 여기에 사용된 시험체중의 하나는 습식접합 1/3 축소 3층 입체 P.C모델이었다. 지진파를 일으키기 위해 4mx4m 크기의 진동대가 사용되었다. 또한 선택한 입력지진가속도파는 Taft N21E 성분기록지진파로서 최대지진가속도(PGA)는 원하는 지진세기수준에 따라 조정되었고 시간축으로는 동적상사성법칙에 따라 축소되었다. 이 P.C모델의 진동대 실험을 통해 얻은 결과를 근거로 하여, 근거로 하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. (1)이 시험체에 관한한, 지진안전계수는 7-8정도로 나타났으며, (2)이 P.C모델이 감쇠계수는 대체로, 철근콘크리트구조물 감쇠계수의 두배에 해당하는 값인 8%정도이며, (3) 이 모델은 접합부의 벌어짐과 미끄러짐에 의한 에너지소산을 통해서 2-3정도의 전체적인 변위연성비를 보여주었다.

  • 로보트 매니퓰레이터를 제어하는데 있어서, 토오크 계산법을 이용한 새로운 가변구조 모델 추종제어기를 설계한다. 슬라이딩 모드가 존재하기 위한 충부조건은 Lyapunov 함수에 의해 유도된다. 기준 모델은 이중 적분기를 사용하고 가속도 입력은 시스템의 안정성과 원하는 성능을 얻기 위하여 비례-미분 제어기로 구성한다. 제안된 제어기법은 매니퓰레이터 동력학 방정식 각 항들의 상한값과 추정값을 부여함으로써 정확한 매개변수의 지식과 역행렬 계산을 요구하지 않는다. 따라서 모의실험 결과 제어된 제어기가 목적궤적의 수렴성이 개선되었음을 보여준다.

차량 모델을 이용한 구동력 제어 시스템 (TCS)의 제어 방법 개발 (Development of a Control Method of Traction Control System Using Vehicle Model)

  • A traction control systems (TCSs) composed of either a wheel slip controller or a throttle valve controller or an integrated controller of both systems are proposed in this study. To validatethe dynamic characteristics of a vehicle and TCS, a full car model that can simulate the responses of both front wheel drive (2WD) and four wheel drive (4WD) vehicle is also developed. The wheel slip controller uses a sliding mode control scheme and the throttle valve is controlled by a PID controller. The results shows that tHe brake TCS and the engine TCS achieve rapid acceleration, and reduce slip angle on slippery road. When a vehicle is cornering and accelerating maneuver with the brake or engine TCS, understeer or oversteer occur, depending on the driving conditions. The integrated TCS prevents most of these problems and improves the stability and controllability of the vehicle.

  • This paper proposes a traction control system (TCS) that uses a sliding mode wheel slip controller and a PID throttle valve controller. In addition, a yaw motion controller (YMC) is also developed to improve lateral stability using a PID rear wheel steering angle controller. The dynamics of a vehicle and characteristics of the controllers are validated using a proposed full-car model. A driver model is also designed to steer the vehicle during maneuvers on a split ${\mu}$ road and double lane change maneuver. The simulation results show that the proposed full-car model is sufficient to predict vehicle responses accurately. The developed TCS provides improved acceleration performances on uniform slippery roads and split ${\mu}$ roads. When the vehicle is cornering and accelerating with the brake or engine TCS, understeer occurs. An integrated TCS eliminates these problems. The YMC with the integrated TCS improved the lateral stability and controllability of the vehicle.

고속열차 점착계수 향상을 위한 신규 복합재료 분말 마찰조절재 개발 및 점착력 특성 평가 (Development of Novel Composite Powder Friction Modifier for Improving Wheel-rail Adhesion in High-speed Train)

  • With the recent remarkable improvements in the average speeds of contemporary trains, a necessity has arisen for the development of new friction modifiers to improve adhesion characteristics at the wheel-rail interface. The friction modifier must be designed to reduce slippage or sliding of the trains' wheels on the rails under conditions of rapid acceleration or braking without excessive rolling contact wear. In this study, a novel composite material consisting of metal, ceramic, and polymer is proposed as a friction modifier to improve adhesion between wheels and rails. A blend of Al-6Cu-0.5Mg metallic powder, $Al_2O_3$ ceramic powder, and Bakelite-based polymer in various weight-fractions is hot-pressed at $150^{\circ}C$ to form a bulk composite material. Variation in the adhesion coefficient is evaluated using a high-speed wheel-rail friction tester, with and without application of the composite friction modifier, under both dry and wet conditions. The effect of varying the weighting fractions of metal and ceramic friction powders is detailed in the paper.

Centrifuge shaking table tests on a friction pendulum bearing isolated structure with a pile foundation in soft soil

  • Previous studies have shown that pile-soil interactions have significant influences on the isolation efficiency of an isolated structure. However, most of the existing tests were carried out using a 1-g shaking table, which cannot reproduce the soil stresses resulting in distortion of the simulated pile-soil interactions. In this study, a centrifuge shaking table modelling of the seismic responses of a friction pendulum bearing isolated structure with a pile foundation under earthquakes were conducted. The pile foundation structure was designed and constructed with a scale factor of 1:100. Two layers of the foundation soil, i.e., the bottom layer was made of plaster and the upper layer was normal soil, were carefully prepared to meet the similitude requirement. Seismic responses, including strains, displacement, acceleration, and soil pressure were collected. The settlement of the soil, sliding of the isolator, dynamic amplification factor and bending moment of the piles were analysed to reveal the influence of the soil structure interaction on the seismic performance of the structure. It is found that the soil rotates significantly under earthquake motions and the peak rotation is about 0.021 degree under 24.0 g motions. The isolator cannot return to the initial position after the tests because of the unrecoverable deformation of the soil and the friction between the curved surface of the slider and the concave plate.
