Theoretical and experimental drawing characteristics for the step drawbead are discussed. The drawbead restraining forces and strains by the varous drawing angles are measured experimentally. Also, during the blank holding process, the strain distributions of upper and lower skins of specimens are analysed by the 2-D rigid-plastic F.E.M And the drawbead restraining forces and strain distributions for the drawn specimens by the drawing length are obtained by experiment.
Gelatin is a high molecular weight polypeptide derived fro mcollgen, theprimary protein component of animal connective tissues, which include bone, skin and tendon. Gelatin is usually produced from two different sources of raw materials (skins or bones) which are processed in two ways(line or acid). According to this pretreatment, gelatin can be divided into elatin type A(acid) and B(lime). The market is essentially driven by thre demand sectors: food, harmaceuticals(capsules) and photography. Although there is some potential threat in the photography sector, the oher tow sectors are well placed for futher growth.
The effects of vehicles and penetration enhancers on the in vitro permeation of ketorolac tromethamine (KT) across excised hairless mouse skins were investigated. Among pure vehicles examined, propylene glycol monolaurate (PGML) showed the highest permeation flux, which was 94.3${\pm}$17.3 mg/cm$^2$/hr. Even though propylene glycol monocaprylate (PGMC) alone did not show high permeation rate, the skin permeability of DT was markedly increased by the addition of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DGME); the enhancement factors were 19.0 and 17.1 at 20 and 40% of DGME, respectively. Histological examination of an individual of the Korean slender gudgeon Squalidus gracilis majimae having cutaneous albinism produced rarely in the wild was made and compared with a normal individual. The external body of the albino was colorless, differing from the normal individual, which has dense brownish black spots over its body surface. To make it clear through histological study, we observed eight skin regions: dorsal, lateral, ventral, upper caudal peduncle, lower caudal peduncle, dorsal fin, anal fin, and the eyes. These regional skins were the same in fundamental structure between albinic and normal gudgeon, but there were significant differences in distribution and development of pigment cells (melanins). In the normal gudgeon, the pigment cells were well developed over the regional skins except on the skin from the ventral region. However, it was confirmed in the albino that the pigment cells were vestigial over the upper regions of the eye and body but absent in the ventral region, lower caudal peduncle, and anal fin.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Lespedeza Caneata (LC) extracts on atopic dermatitis. For the experiment, mice were divided into a normal group, an AD group, and AD-LC groups (100 mg/Kg, 300 mg/Kg, and 500 mg/Kg). For the AD and AD-LC groups, 1% DNCB $200{\mu}{\ell}$ was applied at a hair-removed site for 2 weeks, and then 0.1% DNCB $150{\mu}{\ell}$ was applied every 2 days for 4 weeks. Skin thickness is a symptom of atopic dermatitis, and in this experiment, the AD group had the thickest skins, and the AD-LC group (500 mg/Kg) had the same skin thickness as the normal group. Mast cells show inflammatory reaction, and in this experiment, the AD group had the largest number of mast cells. Collagen fibers are usually observed on normal skins, and in this experiment, the AD-LC group (500 mg/Kg) had a uniform level of those fibers. Based on the study results, it turned out that LC extracts have the anti-atopic efficacy improving keratinization, erosion, and uredo.
The protein in the extracts from the skins of pineapple and kiwi and the optimal conditions to hydrolyze blood, egg and gluten meals with them were investigated. Protein analysis by SDS-polyacylamide gel electrophoresis showed one protein band with 22 kd molecular weight in the pineapple skin extract, and Hve protein bands with 27 kd, 22.5 kd, 22 kd, 19 kd, and 14.4 kd molecular weight in the kiwi skin extract. The 22 kd protein in the pineapple skin extract is assumed to be bromelain, and the 27 kd protein in the kiwi skin extract is assumed to be actinidin, both are pretense. The optimal conditions for hydrolysis of blood, egg, and gluten meals we: 6-24 hours in time, $60^{\circ}C$ in temperature, and pH 4-pH 7.

Because of energy crisis and environment pollution, we have become more conscious of the need to conserve heat in buildings. In response to this need. new requirements have been developed for insulation and other matters relating to energy consumption. Among others, more promising is to use the energy that is all around us in the dynamic forces of nature:the wind, tides, waves, rivers, geothermal hot spots, and the sun. The problem is that we have not been forced to find the technological means to convert these natural energies into usable forms because it has been too easy simply to dig or pump our energy out of the ground. Now, the problem is not a shortage of energy itself, but a shortage of technology for converting the energy that lies aoo around us into usable forms. Energy-conversion technology is the real issue, and solar energy is one of the brightest and most promising frontiers in energy conversion. All buildings are wrapped in a skin. Generally skins protect the person in stay from rain, wind, dust, noise, cold, hot etc.. However, there are some skins that provide energy from given environment into the building. Out of aoo, transparent insulation material is one of these materials that most effectively satisfies this kind of envelope function. Since, there are no research on transparent insulation in Korea, it has been studied very actively in Europe and in America. Thus, in this thesis, we will theoratically study and analyze how the heat flows through a trans arrent insulated opaque wall of a school building in Korea. It will be an important information for the effective using guidelines of transparent insulation materials in Korea.
The purposes of this study were to identify the effects of body satisfaction and self-esteem on the make-up degree of middle and high school girls. Self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection from 432 students. The results were as follows: 1) Most of middle and high school girls were in height of 161-165cm and weight of 56-60kg. Satisfaction level of middle and high school girls with their eyes was the highest and that of weight was the lowest. They showed strong intention to modify their appearances and were dissatisfied with their body. 2) Middle and high school girls' satisfaction level of home life self-esteem was the highest, but that of school life was the lowest. 3) Middle and high school girls used cosmetics to protect their skins and paid much attention to their skins. They collected cosmetics informations from their friends or family members, and began to use point make-ups from their middle school years. They purchased cosmetics at cosmetic specialty store or internet shopping mall frequently. Most of them spent less than 10,000 won monthly for cosmetics, and used lip gloss and ultraviolet rays interceptors over their face with basic cosmetics. 4) Expenditures for cosmetics, self-esteem on their appearances, and pocket money affected on make-up degree. Middle and high school girls who spent more money for cosmetics and more pocket money with higher self~esteem on their appearances showed higher degree of make-ups.
This study was conducted to examine the chemical composition of kiwifruit skin, and to est its anti-microbial activities and cytotoxicities, thus, exploring ways for the economic utilization of kiwifruit skin. Four varieties of kiwifruit were examined: Daeheung, Bidan, Haegeum No.1 and Hayward. Vitamin C content in the fruit skins of Bidan, Daeheung, Haegeum No.1 and Hayward were 72.44, 67.22, 62.51 and 61.44mg/100g, respectively. Total amino acids content in the fruit skins of Bidan, Haegeum No.1, Hayward and Daeheung ere 808.31, 706.02, 629.07 and 464.83mg/100g dry weight, respectively. K and Ca content ere $17.20-45.70{\mu}g/mL$ and $4.58-10.15{\mu}g/mL$. While, other inorganic matter contents were below $4.89{\mu}g/mL$. Anti-microbial activity of kiwifruit skin extracts, in terms of the diameter of inhibition zone when tested against five gram positive and three gram negative microbial trains (even in the concentration of 2,000mg/L), was less than 14.1mm. The hyperplasia inhibition of lung cancer cells by methanol extracts from Bidan and Haegeum No.1 using concentrations of 800mg/L were 27.7% and 14.5%, however, those from Daeheung and Hayward were below 3% Consequently, it will be useful to know that kiwifruit skin can be added to processed goods which demand for higher concentrations of vitamin C, amino acids, K and Ca.
