  • The purpose of this study is to identify the main factors influencing the culture of social welfare agencies and to find out the types of culture that they are combining through. The research method has two major processes. The first step was to conduct long-term surveys on one agency and find out the factors influencing the organizational culture. In the second step, we found a type of organizational culture by combining the elements in six agencies. As a result of research, we found leadership, openness, and locality as factors influencing organizational culture, and found that they were restricted-care, expanded-participatory, change-mixed, and stable-mixed. The results of this study are meaningful in that it reflects the complex situation of Korean social welfare organization. Future research will need to expand to the whole country in order to improve the generalization of typification.

  • This research is based on the Consumption Values Theory proposed by Sheth(1991). The purpose of this research is finding the factors related to the process of hospital choice. The expectation of six hospital outpatients 600 was analyzed by six consumption values categories: functional value, social value, emotional value, rarity value, condition value, health related values. The main results of this research is as following; 1. In the result of factor analysis 22 consumption value factors which affect the hospital preference were extracted; kindness/clearness, service speed, comfort of space, technical competence in functional values, high income/active social life, low income/blue collar unmarried/man, middle aged/big family, woman/married, introvert in social values, high-class, comfort, reliability in emotional value, newness, classiness in rarity value, social relationship, close to residence, social reputation in conditional values, priority on health, health behavior, active sense of value on health in health related values. 2. The difference of consumption values among hospital types were analyzed. The critical factors in reference for corporate hospitals newly established were kindness/clearness, service speed, convenience, classiness, comfort, and newness. University hospitals were preferred by the factors of reliability, and social reputation. In general hospital, convenience and close to residence were critical factor. 3. In logistic regression, age, marital status, education level and income as socio-demographic variables were significantly related to general hospital choice. Also service speed and close to residence were positively and high income/active social life and high class value were negatively related to general hospital choice. On university hospital choice, age and marital status, education show posive relationship whereas income showing negative relationship. Kindness/clearness, service speed, comfort of space, unmarried/man, comfortable feeling, newness and close to residence showed negative relationship with university hospital selection whereas technical competence, reliability in emotional value, classiness in rarity value, social relationship in functional values showed positive relationship. Lastly kindness/clearness, comfort of space, high income/active social life, unmarried/man, high-class, comfort and newness were positively related to corporate hospitals newly established choice in contrast to negative relationship in reliability in emotional value and classiness. In summary, we found that hospital user also choose to hospital in base of various consumption value. Further studies to investigate the hospital consumer behavior will be needed.

  • The main objective of this study was to understand the factors affecting the acceptance of fermented soybean products. Seventy-six consumers rated the acceptance and perceived intensity of 4 types of Korean and 4 types of Japanese style fermented soybean products. The consumer's food variety seeking tendency and the general attitude toward various fermented soybean products were measured. Ten descriptive analysis panelists evaluated the sensory characteristics of the 8 samples. Univariate and multivariate statistical analyses were applied to the data sets. Fermented soybean products consisting of sweet and moist sensory characteristics were preferred the most. The variety seeking tendency was not an effective predictor for understanding the acceptance of the products tasted in the experiment. K-means cluster analysis identified 3 sub-consumer segments sharing a common preference pattern for the 8 samples within each group. These 3 groups somewhat differed in the consumption frequency, acceptance, and familiarity of various fermented soybean products in general.

  • Objective: Polypharmacy is one of the main causes of inappropriate medication use, adverse drug-related events and cost. It aimed to investigate the status of polypharmacy and potentially inappropriate medication (PIM), the factors affecting polypharmacy and cost in elderly outpatients. Method: A pharmacy claim data were retrospectively analyzed with elderly patients prescriptions at a pharmacy located near a top tier general hospital. The numbers of medications per person, prevalence of polypharmacy and PIM according to the 2012 Beers criteria and Korea PIM list, medication cost and the factors affecting polypharmacy were investigated. Results: Forty-six percentages of the elderly outpatients received polypharmacy and over 21% of them had medications listed in Beers or Korean PIM. In multiregressional analysis, we found that age, gender and insurance types were affective factors of polypharmacy. (p < 0.001, 0.047, 0.009, respectively). The cost of polypharmacy with PIM in elderly outpatients was increased with age. Various approaches of interventions would be further required.

  • Energy consumption in university building has steadily increased over the last decade, and a strong upward trend in recent years. This study was undertaken to analyze the relationship between energy consumption and their affecting factors, six academic buildings were considered. The factors limited to heating and cooling, which is the main end use (nearly 60 per cent of total energy consumption in university buildings), encompassing system and operating schedules (user activity) and area use. To understand how to building is used, operated and managed, walk-through assessment was conducted as well as interview with university staff. The results show that the energy consumption of the humanities building was somewhat smaller than the consumption of the science and engineering building, and its range was from $31.26kgoe/m^2$ to $23.52kgoe/m^2$, depending on heating and cooling system and area use. And the energy consumption of the science and engineering building was related to operating schedules (user activity) as well as laboratory equipment characteristics. More analysis on a larger number of buildings is required in the future, including building form and material performance level to generalize the significant factors influencing building energy consumption.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop a new method for evaluation of stream naturalness in order to appraise and prescribe for streams effectively in the process of ecological restoration of stream corridors. The results are as follows : 1) For this purpose six factors were selected on considering the spatial axes of stream corridor variation and total 20 descriptors about the physical structure were selected. 2) The calculation of S.N.I. for each segment was consisted of three steps, such as calculation of S.N.I.s of the individual descriptors, averaging all the descriptors's for each factor, and finally averaging the factors's for the Total S.N.I. 3) The evaluation unit was decided to be 100m size. The score system ranging 1~5 was adopted. Weighting parameters of factors were unified with each other. 4) A GIS model was adopted for classification, calculation, querying, analysing, and presenting S.N.I. information. And the format of S.N.I. maps including statistical graphs and other spatial watershed information was designed for the GIS odel. The naturalness of stream corridor was was investigated by the naturalness of habitat, and assessed by the descriptors focused on physical structure, therefore the S.N.I. can manifest prescriptions for restoration of the stream corridor. On the other hand because some evaluation factors such as water quality, water volume, fauna, flora, functions of stream exosystem has been excluded, S.N.I. could have some limits on representing the full aspects of stream naturalness. This evaluation method is hypothetical one, so it would be investigated through iterative applicatons.

  • Interactive space became one of the major design paradigms. For elevating the interactive effect, we need user-centered design methodology which uses the influential factors on the interactivity. This research is the first one of three linked- studies and categorizes the three main factors on the interactivity-Interface /Intersubject/Interaction. 'Interface' is the field for the interactivity. It will be the main subject for the second study. 'Intersubject' is the performer for the interactivity. Its specific attributes are analyzed in terms of user's needs for interactivity and six subdivisions are analyzed-functional & artistic need /external & subconscious need/info-communication & sympathy need. 'Interaction' is the performance for the interactivity. Its specific attributes are discussed in terms of behavioral interactive process and again sixsub-steps are analyzed-junction/immersion/ mental model/action/transformation/neo-experience.
