풍화암에 근입된 현장타설 말뚝의 하중 전이 특성 (Shear Load Transfer Characteristics of Drilled Shafts in Weathered Rocks)

  • The load distribution and deformation of drilled shafts subjected to axial loads were evaluated by a load transfer approach. The emphasis was on quantifying the load transfer mechanism at the interface between the shafts and surrounding highly weathered rocks based on a numerical analysis and small-scale tension load tests performed on nine instrumented piles. An analytical method that takes into account the soil coupling effect was developed using a modified Mindlin's point load solution. Based on the analysis, a single-modified hyperbolic model is proposed for the shear transfer function of drilled shafts in highly weathered rocks. Through comparisons with field case studies, it is found that the prediction by the present approach is in good agreement with the general trend observed by in-situ measurements.

  • Pantograph, which collects current from cartenary system, is one of the important parts of high-speed train. Kinematic analysis is one of the key technologies for pantograph design and includes joint trajectories, reaction forces, and the required moment of main shaft calculations. The kinematic analysis, however, is very complex and time-consuming process. In this study PC based pantograph kinematic analysis software using graphical user interface tool was developed for the easy evaluations of kinematic characteristics necessary in pantograph design process.

단면형 로터리경운날의 경운 특성 (Tillage Characteristics of the Single-Edged Rotary Blade)

  • The purpose of this study is to developed high-efficient rotary tillage system for a power tiller by improving the rotary blade. A kind of the rotary blade with single-edged blade(DS) was developed that requires lower tillage energy than conventional double-edged blade(CD) on the design theory for Japanese rotary blade. In order to find out the tillage characteristics between the single-edged blade and the double-edged blade for power tiller, experiments were performed in soil-bins which were filled up clay loam, loam and sandy loam, and then analyzed the effects of the factors such as soil texture, travelling speed, rotational speed, and tillage depth to each of the blades. And field tests were carried out to compare tillage performances of the two blades using rotary cultivator driven by conventional power tiller. The results of this study were summarized as follows; 1) On the soil bin experiment, it was found that tillage torque of the single-edged blade was less than the ones of the double-edged blade. The decreasing ratios of maximum tillage torque of the single-edged blade to the ones of the double-edged blade were 1 to 8% at clay loam, 5 to 20% at loam and 9 to 31% at sandy loam, respectively. 2) By the field tests, that the tillage performances with the single-edged blade compared with the double-edged blade was improved about 19% in field capacity, about 34% in fuel consumption, and 12.5% in soil breaking ratio. Furthermore, the fluctuation of engine speed, the variation of exhaust gas temperature, and the amount of soil clogging on the blade and straw wound on the rotary shaft showed lower values with the developed blade than the conventional blade. So, it may be concluded that tillage performance by the developed single-edged blade was improved compared with the one by the conventional double-edged blade.

단일 현장타설말뚝의 설계시 지반 모델링 방법 (Soil Modelling Method to Design Bent Foundation with Drilled Shaft Pier)

  • 암반의 심도가 얕은 국내지반에서는 푸팅을 사용하지 않는 벤트기초가 매우 경제적인 공법이다. 현장타설말뚝을 이용한 벤트기초공법은 탄성설계로 제한하여 설계를 수행하여 왔으나, 도로교 설계기준에서 제시하는 소성설계를 적용하는 경우 소성힌지 발생지점이 지중에 위치하여 유지관리가 불가하고 소성힌지부에 적용하는 심부구속 철근의 간격 및 보강범위에 대한 기준 제정이 필요하다. 또한 지반의 소성 거동을 모델링 하는 것은 구조 해석시 실무적으로 매우 어려움이 많아 정밀한 해석이 필요하지 않는 경우에 대한 근사 해석법 제시가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 직경 1m의 현장타설말뚝을 사질토지반에 시공하여 지상 4m 높이에서 반복 재하시험을 수행하여 지반 및 말뚝의 거동을 파악하였으며, 기둥으로서의 거동을 함께 파악하였다. 소성힌지를 지상부에 유도하기 위하여 직경을 변화시키거나, 지중에 강관을 삽입하는 방법을 적용하였으며, 실험결과에 대하여 선형탄성 및 p-y 곡선등 다양한 예측방법과 교량에 대한 모의 설계를 통하여 지반 모델링 방법에 따른 해석결과를 비교하였으며, 실무적으로 적용할 수 있는 설계기준을 제시하였다.

Steady State and Transient Analysis of Switched Reluctance Motor Drive Fed from a Controlled AC-DC Rectifier

  • The Theory of operation of switched reluctance motors (SRM) depends on the reluctance torque, where energy is transferred to stator winding only. Although its construction is simple, the electrical design is complex, due to the switching configuration needed to deliver power to stator coils. However, because of the nonlinearly of magnetic circuit, SRM has torque ripple. This paper proposes a new strategy to drive SRM from a single-phase AC supply. Each stator winding is connected to AC-DC or AC-AC converters, which is called branch. All branches are connected in parallel to a single-phase AC supply. A shaft encoder allows current production in stator winding during the positive torque production region and terminates it during the negative torque production region. A magnetic flux is produced between stator poles when current is supplied from AC supply to stator coil and repeats many cycles as long as the rate of change of stator inductance is positive. Different possibilities for the configurations of AC-AC or AC-DC converters are introduced to drive SRM from the single-phase AC supply. A case study is presented for a SRM fed from AC supply through semi-controlled AC-DC converter is presented. A simulation model is introduced and verified by experimental rig for two-phase SRM.

Estimation of Magnetic Co-Energy in Salient Pole Rotor Type Single Phase SRM

  • The salient pole rotor type single phase SRM (switched reluctance motor) uses radial and axial direction magnetic flux simultaneously. Therefore, the output power per unit volume is very high and the shaft length is shorter than other types of SRMs with the same output. Furthermore, it can be manufactured with low cost owing to its simple structure and driving circuit. The prototype was designed using the theory of the traditional rotating machine and 3D FEM analysis. On this paper, the experiment apparatus, which includes the fabricated prototype in previous researches, was fabricated to measure the current and voltage of the prototype. Then the flux linkage, inductance and magnetic co-energy were calculated using the experimental results. Finally, the measured magnetic co-energy was compared with the simulated magnetic co-energy.

  • Present chemical application method using a power sprayer has been labor intensive, costly and ineffective. Therefore, a small agricultural unmanned helicopter was suggested to replace the conventional spray system. In this study, conceptual design for developing the helicopter and a consequential prototype were reported. The overall conceptual design was initiated by deciding the type of agricultural helicopter, as the single rotor helicopter with a tail system. As the first step of the designing, an air-cooled, 2-stroke engine was selected and a prototype transmission was designed by determining the rotating speed of main rotor shaft. A 'pusher' type tail rotor system was adapted to balance the reaction torque and reduce the power use. The tail boom length was designed to avoid the rotating trajectory of the main rotor. The RF console consisted of the engine control, attitude control, and emergency control modules. Assembling the prototype concluded the mechanical development of the agricultural helicopter.

Low-Cost Position Sensorless Switched Relutance Motor Drive Using a Single-Controllable Switch Converter

  • Elimination of rotor position sensors mechanically coupled with the rotor shaft is attractive to variable speed drives primarily due to increased system reliability and cost reduction. In this regard, search for a simple and robust position sensorless control has been intensified in past few years specifically for low-cost, high-volume applications such as home appliances. This paper describes a new parameter insensitive position sensorless control for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives satisfying such a need in this market segment. Two consecutive switch-on times of the controllable switch in hysteresis current control are compared to estimate the rotor position and speed. The proposed sensorless control algorithm is very simple to implement since it does not depend on extensive computation or any additional hardware. In addition, the proposed method is robust in that its dynamic performance is least affected by system parameter variations. The proposed approach is demonstrated on a single-controllable-switch-converter-driven SRM with two-phases that lends itself to a system with low cost and compact packaging which comes close to the intended applications. Analysis and simulation results followed by experimental verification are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed sensorless control method.

  • The purpose of study is obtaining low-emission and high-efficiency in LPi engine with hydrogen enrichment. The test engine was named variable compression ratio single cylinder engine (VACRE). The fuel supply system provides LPG/hydrogen mixtures based on same heating value. A varied sensors such as crank shaft position sensor (CPS) and hall sensor supplies spark timing data to ignition controller. Displacement of VACRE is $1858.2cm^3$. VACRE was runned 1400rpm with compression ratio 8. Spark timing was set MBT without knocking. Relative air-fuel ratio($\lambda$) of this work was varied between 0,8 and 1.5.

소형 고속 SI 엔진에서 SCV의 연비저감 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decrease Fuel Consumption of SCV in a High Speed Small SI Engine)

  • 실험에 사용된 엔진은 $3000\~12000$ RPM의 광범위한 회전수범위를 가지고 있어 엔진성능을 향상시키기 위해서는 다양한 제어장치가 필요하다. SCV는 저회전수에서 엔진의 성능을 개선시키기 위한 방법 중의 하나로 자주 언급되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소형고속엔진에 SCV를 장착하여 저회전수 범위에서 SCV가 엔진에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 실험에서는 4valve SOHC 공랭식 단기통 엔진에 SCV의 형상에 따른 스월 강도, 출력, 연료소비율, 배기가스를 조사하였다 그 결과 SCV의 사용 가능 범위 5000 RPM에서 연료소비율 $9\%$의 저감효과를 보았다.
