The published studies usually used analytical method, numerical methods or experimental method to determine the stress-strain state and displacement of the single-layer or multi-layer curved shell types, but with a small scale model. However, a full scale multi-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof model should be researched. This paper presents the results of the experiment and simulation analysis involving stress-strain state, sliding between layers, the formation and development of the full scale double-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof when this shell begins to crack. The results of the this study have constructed the load-sliding strain relationship; strain diagram; stress diagram in the shell layers; the Nx, Ny membrane force diagram and deflection of shell. Thisresults by experimental method on a full scale model of concrete have clarified the working of multi-layer doubly curved concrete shell roof. The experimental and simulation results are compared with each other and compared with the Sap2000 software.

The electronic absorption and surface morphology evolution of two types of molecular double layer thin films, copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) layer deposited on chloro[subphthalocyaninato]boron(III) (SubPc) layer, denoted as SubPc/CuPc, and vice versa, with various thicknesses were investigated using ultraviolet (UV)-visible spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Both types of double layer structures showed similar broadened absorption patterns in the UV-visible region that were consistent with the fitted spectra following simple linear combination of the single layer absorption spectra of the two materials. In contrast, the surface morphology of double layer structures was dependent on the order of deposition. For the CuPc/SubPc structures, surface morphology was characterized by elongated grains, which are characteristic of SubPc thin films, indicating that the morphological influence of the underlying CuPc layer on the subsequent SubPc layer was not large. For the SubPc/CuPc structures, however, the underlying SubPc layer acted as a morphological template for the subsequently deposited CuPc layer. It was also observed that the grain size of the CuPc layer varied according to the thickness of the underlying SubPc layer.
Stretchable strain sensors are becoming essential in diverse future applications, such as human motion detection, soft robotics, and various biomedical devices. One of the well-known approaches for fabricating stretchable strain sensors is to embed conductive nanomaterials such as metal nanowires/nanoparticles, graphene, conducting polymer and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) within an elastomeric substrate. Among various conducting nanomaterials, CNTs have been considered as important and promising candidate materials for stretchable strain sensors owing to their high electrical conductivity and excellent mechanical properties. In the past decades, CNT-based strain sensors with high stretchability or sensitivity have been developed. However, CNT-based strain sensors which show both high stretchability and sensitivity have not been reported. Herein, highly stretchable and sensitive strain sensors were fabricated by integrating single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and nylon textiles via vacuum-assisted spray-layer-by-layer process. Our strain sensors had high sensitivity with 100 % tensile strain (gauge factor ~ 100). Cyclic tests confirmed that our strain sensors showed very robust and reliable characteristic. Moreover, our SWNTs-based strain sensors were easily and successfully integrated on human finger and knee to detect bending and walking motion. Our approach presented here might be route to preparing highly stretchable and sensitive strain sensors with providing new opportunity to realize practical wearable devices.
The purpose of this study is to identify the proper species of turf and the ground structure for the turf sports grounds. Analysis items are particle distribution of sand and gravel, saturated hydraulic conductivity, soil hardness, and turf growth. Results of this study are as follows. 1)The particle distribution of sand used in the multi-layer rootzone is within the upper limit of the standard level. The diameter of mid-size grain({TEX}$D_{50}${/TEX})was 0.62mm and the value of uniformity ({TEX}$D_{90}${/TEX}/{TEX}$D_{10}${/TEX}) was 3.93. The particle size distribution of sand used in the single-layer rootzone was beyond the standard level as {TEX}$D_{50}${/TEX})=0.86 and {TEX}$D_{90}${/TEX}/{TEX}$D_{10}${/TEX}=8.86. 2) Saturated hydraulic conductivity of the sand was higher in the multi-layer rootzone than in the single-layer rootzone while bulk density was vice versa. 3) Surface hardness was high on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass compared to zoysiagrass probably caused by root density. 4) Visual covering and visual rating were highly evaluated on zoysiagrass within summer while better evaluated on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass throughout fall to spring. 5) Visual color was better evaluated on Kentucky bluegrass+perennial ryegrass than on zoysiagrass throughout the year. These studies are demanded urgently according to increase in interest in the ground and turf species of the turf sports ground because of World Cup 2002.

Characteristics of high Fermi velocity, high mechanical strength, and transparency offer tremendous advantages for using graphene as a promising transparent conducting material [1] in electronic devices. Although graphene is a prospective candidate for touch sensor with strong mechanical properties [2] and flexibility, only few investigations have been carried out in the field of sensor as a device form. In this study, we suggest ultra-highly sensitive and transparent graphene touch sensor fabricated by single layer graphenes. One of the graphene layers is formed in the top panel as a disconnected graphene beam transferred on PDMS, and the other of the graphene layer is formed with line-patterning on the bottom panel of triple structure PET/PI/SiO2. The touch sensor shows characteristics of flexible. Its transmittance is approximately 75% where transmittance of the top panel and the bottom panel are 86.3% and 87%, respectively, at 550 nm wavelength. Sheet resistance of each graphene layer is estimated as low as $971{\Omega}/sq$. The results show that the conductance change rate (${\Delta}C/C0$) is $8{\times}105$ which depicts ultra-high sensitivity. Moreover, reliability characteristic confirms consistent behavior up to a 100-cycle test.
We investigated emission characteristics of tandem organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) with p-type materials as charge generation layer. The tandem OLEDs were fabricated by using $MoO_x$, $WO_x$, C60 and HATCN as p-type material or not using p-type material for charge generation. When HATCN was used as p-type material, it showed high current density at low applied voltage, but increase of efficiency was small because of charge unbalance in emitting layer. In case of tandem OLED not using p-type material, applied voltage increased remarkably because of difficulty of hole injection. In case of $MoO_x$, $WO_x$ or C60 as p-type material, current emission efficiency increased greatly. In particular, current emission efficiency of tandem OLED using $MoO_x$ as p-type material increased up to 3 times than current emission efficiency of single OLED. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) 1931 color coordinates were changed by overlapping of 504 nm emission wavelength. As a result, emission efficiency of tandem OLED improved compared with single OLED, but driving voltage also increased by increase of organic layer thickness.

Due to various factors such as postures, facial expressions and illuminations, face recognition by videos often suffer from poor recognition accuracy and generalization ability, since the within-class scatter might even be higher than the between-class one. Herein we address this problem by proposing a hierarchical cascaded classifier for video face recognition, which is a multi-layer algorithm and accounts for the misclassified samples plus their similar samples. Specifically, it can be decomposed into single classifier construction and multi-layer classifier design stages. In single classifier construction stage, classifier is created by clustering and the number of classes is computed by analyzing distance tree. In multi-layer classifier design stage, the next layer is created for the misclassified samples and similar ones, then cascaded to a hierarchical classifier. The experiments on the database collected by ourselves show that the recognition accuracy of the proposed classifier outperforms the compared recognition algorithms, such as neural network and sparse representation.
TiN and CrN thin films are among the most used coatings in machine and tool steels. TiN and CrN are deposited by arc ion plating(AIP) method. The AIP method inhibits the reaction by depositing a hard, protective coating on the material surface. In this study, the characteristics of multi-layer(TiN/CrN/TiN(TCT), CrN/TiN/CrN(CTC)) are investigated. For comparison, TiN with the same thickness as the multilayer is formed as a single layer and analyzed. Thin films formed as multilayers are well stacked. The characteristics of micro hardness and corrosion resistance are better than those of single layer TiN. The TiN/CrN peak is confirmed because both TCT and CTC are formed of the same component(TiN, CrN), and the phase is first grown in the (111) direction, which is the growth direction. However, the adhesion and abrasion resistance of the multilayer films are somewhat lower.
We have fabricated good quality superconducting YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin films on Hastelloy(Ni-Cr-Mo alloys) metallic substrates with CeO$_2$and BaTiO$_3$buffer layers in-situ by pulsed laser deposition in a multi-target processing chamber. YBCO film with CeO$_2$ single buffer layer shows T$_{c}$ of 71.64 K and the grain size less than 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. When BaTiO$_3$is used as a single buffer layer, the grain size of YBCO is observed to be larger than that of YBCO/CeO$_2$by 200 times and the transition temperature of the film is enhanced to be about 84 K. CeO$_2$/BaTiO$_3$double buffer layer has been adopted to enhance the superconducting properties, which results in the enhancement of the critical temperature and the critical current density to be about 85 K and 8.4 $\times$ 10$^4$ A/cm$^2$ at 77 K, respectively mainly due to the enlargement of the grain size of YBCO film.ilm.
Enhanced vertical load capacity of the ground reinforced with the stone columns drew great attention by the researchers as it deals with many of the geotechnical difficulties associated with the weak ground. Recently, it has been found that the stone columns are also prone to fail under the shear load when employed beneath the embankments or the foundations susceptible to lateral loads. In this study, the effect of various encasement conditions on the lateral deflection of stone columns is investigated. A method of dual layers of encasement has been introduced and its the effect on lateral load capacity of the stone columns has been compared with those of the single encased stone column and the un-encased stone columns. Large shear box tests were utilised to generate the shear deformation on the soil system under various normal pressure conditions. The stiffness of the soil-stone column combined system has been compared for various cases of encasement conditions with different diameters. When subjected to lateral deformation, the encased columns outperformed the un-encased stone columns installed in loose sand. Shear stress resistance is up to 1.7 times greater in dual-layered, encased columns than in unencased columns. Similarly, the secant modulus increases as the condition changes from an unencased stone column to single-layer encasement and then to dual-layer encasement, indicating an improvement in the overall soil-stone column system.
