단일벽 탄소나노튜브의 플러렌 캡슐화 및 라만분광 분석 (Encapsulation of Fullerenes in Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes and their Characteristic Analysis by Raman Spectroscopy)

  • Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) can be modified to produce a new concept of hybrid materials by introducing atoms or molecules inside their cylindrical empty space. Such an endohedral doping of the SWCNTs is expected to decisively alter their electronic transport and mechanical properties, In this study, we purified SWCNTs by three-step purification processes and formed the peapod structure by introducing $C_{60}$ fullerenes inside the SWCNTs. $C_{60}$ molecules were observed to be regularly arranged by transmission electron microscopy. In Raman spectra, the radial breathing mode (RBM) rather than the other modes was significantly affected by the endohedral injection of $C_{60}$. The RBM intensity was more greatly reduced in the large-diameter SWCNTs than the small-diameter ones, Raman spectroscopy is expected to be a key technique for analyzing $C_{60}$-encapsulated SWCNTs.

  • Power MOSFETs (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor) operate as energy control semiconductor switches. In order to reduce energy loss of the device, it is essential to increase its conductance. However, a trade-off relationship between the breakdown voltage and conductance of the device have been the critical difficulty to improve. In this paper, theoretical analysis of electrical benefits on single floating island power MOSFET is proposed. By the method, the optimization point has set defining the doping limit under single floating island structure. The numerical multiple 2.22 was obtained which indicates the doping limit of the original device, improving its ON state voltage drop by 45%.

  • The joints with multi-interfaces was expected to have low DC resistance compared with those with single interface. The small size joint specimens joined with Nb3Sn sub-cables were fabricated to investi-gate the DC performance in the range of 0 to 600A transport current without external magnetic field. The joints with multi-interfaces have a few n-Ohm resistance, which is much lower than that of single lap joint. Because the interfaces between sub-cables of multi-interfaced joint are more complicated than those of single-interfaced joint, the soldering condition between sub-cables is very effective on the joint DC resistance.

  • .In this study, we measured Ic depending on a curvature radios of High Tc superconducting tapes which were made of a single wire, two and three WIT(wire in tube). Wires are manufactured by the process of press ins and sintering (150h, at 845$^{\circ}C$ ) for the growth of 2223 high Tc Bi superconducting phase. We know that Ic of a single wire decrease with reduction of a curvature radius. The maximum Ic of 2 WIT wire is 2.54 (A) and have a better characteristic than a single wire (0.89 A) at a curvature radius 75mm.

  • In this work $Cd_{4}GeSe_{6}$ and $Cd_{4}GeSe_{6}:Co^{2+}$ single crystals were grown by the chemical transport reaction method and the structure of $Cd_{4}GeSe_{6}$ and $Cd_{4}GeSe_{6}:Co$ single crystals were monoclinic structure. The temperature dependence of optical energy gap was fitted well to Varshni equation. Also, the entropy, enthalpy and heat capacity were deduced from the temperature dependence of optical energy gap.

  • In this paper, author describe the undoped and $Co^{2+}$(0.5mole%) doped $Cd_4SnSe_6$ single crystals were grown by the chemical transport reaction(CTR) method. The grown single crystals crystallize in the monoclinic structure of space group Cc and have the direct band gap structure. The energy gaps of them are 1.68 eV for $Cd_4SnSe_6$ and 1.50 eV for $Cd_4SnSe_6:Co^{2+}$ at 300K respectively.

  • The stochiometric mix of evaporating materials for the $ZnGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films were prepared from horizental furnace. To obtains the single crystal thin films, $ZnGa_2Se_4$ mixed crystal were deposited on throughly etched Si(100) by the Hot Wall Epitaxy (HWE) system. The temperates of the source and the substrate were $590^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). Hall effect on this sample was measured by the method of van der Pauw and studied on carrier density and mobility dependence on temperature.

압전단결정(72PMN-28PT) 응용 수중음향 톤필츠 트랜스듀서 개발 (A Development of Underwater Acoustic Tonpilz Transducer with the Piezoelectric Single Crystal)

  • In this paper, a underwater acoustic Tonpilz transducer with the piezoelectric single crystal(72PMN-28PT) is developed. The thickness and the number of piezoelectric elements are theoretically designed with the equivalent circuit analysis to have the desired resonance frequency. In order to compare the performances, a piezoelectric ceramic transducer is also manufactured and their electrical impedance, TVR (transmitting voltage response), RVS (receiving voltage response) and beam pattern are compared.

Outgas 분석을 통한 MLCC Bar 변형률 측정 (Experimental Study on the Deformation of MLCC Compressed Bar by Quantitative Analysis for Outgas)

  • MLCC (multi-layer ceramic capacitor) is usually fabricated by lamination of predetermined number of single layers. Often, the state of MLCC before sintering is called the green state, whose strength comes from the adhesion between the dielectric material and the polymer binder. Therefore the lamination of a single layer before sintering can be easily deformed by environment due to the relatively lower strength. After the compression process, which helps single sheets cohereto with adjacent sheets, the MLCC green bar is preheated to resolve the probable internal stress. Unfortunately, unexpected deformation after preheating resulted in problems during cutting of the MLCC green bar. In this study, one of 2 primary hypotheses which were proposed to resolve the unexpected deformation after preheating was examined by quantitative experiment with GC/MS (gas chromatograpy/mass spectrometer). The proportion of deformation caused by DOP evaporation, which was primarily evaporated componet during preheating, to the total deformation of the MLCC green bar was found to be 53%.

다양한 계면활성제를 이용한 고순도 단일벽 탄소나노튜브의 수계 분산 (Dispersion of Highly Pure Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube in Aqueous Solution of Various Surfactants)

  • Practical application of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) qualified as a promising material has been limited by either poor dispersion or their insolubility in aqueous or organic media due to formation of bundling by relatively high surface energy. Thus, major attention to overcome this issue has been paid at surface modification of CNTs by functionalization, but this introduces defects to the sidewall of CNTs, consequently perturbing the inherent electronic and optical properties. Therefore, using surfactants is a general approach to disperse SWCNTs with lower damages by which bundled nanotubes could be dispersed up to the level of individuals or small bundles. Here, we have investigated various surfactants for their efficiency in dissolving purified SWCNTs produced by arc discharge in deionized water. To compare the surfactants respectively, we have determined the least amount of each surfactant to suspend the nanotubes under optimized experimental conditions(CNT amount, sonication power, and centrifugation speed, etc.) set on the basis of the most common surfactant (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) and discussed the qualitative and quantitative characterization of SWCNT dispersions by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. Quantitative aspect about nanotube dispersion was that in particular N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (NaDDBS) were found to be effective in dispersing individual tubes.
