  • The present study has conducted cycle design and control technology of a water source VRF heat pump system. Previously, study of a simultaneous heating and cooling in an air source VRF heat pump system has been conducted. However, performance data and design methods for simultaneous heating and cooling in a water source VRF heat pump system are limited in the literature, due to various system parameters and operating conditions. In this study, the operating characteristics and performances of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump system are carried out, in simultaneous operation modes. Control logics of an EEV are developed for flow rate control to the outdoor unit, and are verified. When the control logics are applied, the simultaneous cooling and heating performances are sufficiently achieved, and system COPs are increased by up to 23.4%.

  • The cooling load in winter is significant in buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and the improved wall insulation. Hence, a multi~heat pump is required to cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit. In this study, the operating characteristics and performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the cooling-main operating mode were investigated experimentally. The system adopted a variable speed compressor using R410A with four indoor units and one outdoor unit. In the cooling-main mode, the heating capacity decreased due to reduction of flow rate to the indoor unit under heating mode operation. The EEV opening was adjusted to increase flow rate to the indoor unit under heating mode operation. The total capacity and COP in the cooling-main mode increased by 20.5% and 29.2%, respectively, compared with those in the cooling-only mode.

Hence, the development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the operating characteristics and performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the heating-main operating mode were investigated experimentally. The system adopted a variable speed compressor with four indoor units and one outdoor unit with R-410A. In the heating-main mode, the cooling capacity was lower than the design cooling capacity due to the reduction of the flow rate in the indoor unit for the cooling, with the increase of the heating capacity. To solve these problems, the performance characteristics of the simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the heating-main mode were investigated by varying the flow rate to the indoor unit for the cooling and the compressor rotating speed. In addition, the adequate control methods were suggested to improve the system efficiency.

  • In this study, the performance of the simultaneous heating & cooling water making system using R134a was investigated by simulation. The most important effect upon heating COP was intermediate pressure depending on input water temperature. With the input water temperature of $10^{\circ}C\;and\;20^{\circ}C$, optimum intermediate pressure were 923 and 1040kPa, respectively. At that optimum intermediate pressure, the maximum heating COP of the system operated between $0^{\circ}C$ evaporating temperature and $70^{\circ}C$ condensing temperature were 4.15 and 3.83. With installation of the subcoolers in high or low pressure section, the system COP was increased by reducing the refrigerant mass flow rate. Under the optimum pressure and $10^{\circ}C$ input water temperature, it was found that heating COP was maximized when the low-subcooler and high-subcooler capacity rate were taken by 14% and 13%, respectively.

The development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, a 4-room simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump system was designed and its performance was measured at each operating mode. The system used R-410A and adopted variable speed compressor. The problems on the designed system were analyzed and defined. In addition, the solutions of the problems were suggested to improve system efficiency and to obtain the stable operation.

  • The cooling load in winter season is significant in many commercial buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and the high efficiency of wall insulation. Therefore, the development of a multi-heat pump which can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the characteristics and performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump in the cooling-only and cooling-main operating mode was investigated experimentally with a variation of indoor air dry bulb temperature which is from $21^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$. EEV opening was adjusted from 20% to 24% during the tests. When the indoor air temperature varied, the performance in the cooling-only mode was more sensitive to the temperature than in the cooling-main mode. The total capacity and COP were increased by 53.8% and 48.1%, respectively, in the cooling-main, while those were increased by 19.6% and 19.3% in the cooling-only mode. The performance differences between the two operating modes became larger at lower temperatures, especially for the COP.

Hence, the development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the performance of a simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump was investigated in the heat recovery mode (HR mode). The system adopted a variable speed compressor using R410A with four indoor units and one outdoor unit. In the HR mode, the capacity and COP were improved as compared with those in the cooling or heating mode because the waste heat in the outdoor unit was utilized as useful heat in the indoor units. However, energy imbalance between heating and cooling capacity of each indoor unit was observed in the 2H-1C HR mode. Therefore, the performance of the system in the 2H-1C HR mode was enhanced by controlling refrigerant flow rate through the outdoor unit.

  • 본 논문에서는 고효율의 냉난방시스템을 구축하기 위해 냉방기와 난방기를 한 대로 동시에 할 수 있는 냉난방 동시형 멀티 에어컨 시스템을 개발하고 하이브리드형 식물공장에 적용하여 복합형 농장의 자동화가 가능하도록 하였다. 이를 위하여 난방시에 응축기 기능을 하는 열교환기가 냉방시에는 증발기 기능을 하도록 함으로써 냉난방을 동시에 구현하도록 하였다. 실험을 위하여 냉난방 동시형 멀티 에어컨시스템을 제작하고 농장의 식물공장에 적용시켜 식물의 재배 및 보관, 건조 등을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 그 결과 하나의 시스템으로 냉난방을 동시에 해결하는 에너지 절약 시스템으로 농산물의 온도환경을 조절할 수 있었으며 에어컨과 보일러를 동시에 설치하지 않아도 되는 공조시스템을 구현하여 효율적인 농작물 관리가 가능하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 동시 냉난방 히트펌프용 열교환기의 성능평가 및 설계해석 기술의 확보를 위해 난방운전 온도조건에서 6종의 루버핀-관 열교환기의 공기측 열전달특성 및 마찰특성을 실험을 통하여 조사하였다. 실험을 위해 공기엔탈피방식의 칼로리미터와 항온수조를 이용하였다. 전열량의 증가는 핀피치보다 열수에 의해 더 크게 나타났고, 핀피치가 작을수록 열전달계수는 더 높았다. 또한 핀피치가 작을수록 열수증가에 의한 열전달계수의 증가폭이 커졌다. 핀피치와 열수변화에 대한 j-계수와 f-계수는 레이놀즈 수가 증가할수록 감소하였고, 레이놀즈 수 400부근의 영역에서 역전현상이 존재하였다.
