Simulink Model of 3-Phase Diode Rectifiers (3상 다이오드 정류기의 Simulink 모델)

  • Most of inverters adopt a diode rectifier as an input stage, which has very simple and rugged structure and therefore low cost. In order to properly design the 3-phase diode rectifier with an output smoothing capacitor and input inductors, it is necessary to fully simulate the system due to its nonlinear characteristics. Therefore this paper describes the operating behaviors including the current commutation in detail by using the proposed equivalent circuit, and also proposes the Simulink-based model of the system. The simulation results show the validity of the proposed model in all operating conditions.

  • In this study, a linearlized model of liquid rocket engine specifically for the gasgenerator cycle one was developed to serve as a basic control model. A commercial software Simulink was used for the modeling. Using this tool we studied the throttling characteristic of engine around its nominal mode. To obtain the effect of the throttle valve design on the engine's control characteristic, we included mathematical model of the control valve with driving motor and the pressure stabilizer which installed on the gas-generator fed line to sustain the mixture ratio of the gas-generator.

  • This paper presents an implementation of vector control for SPMSM using model based controller design in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The model based controller design enables fast development of control system for motor by designing controllers and performing simulation on the GUI (Graphic User Interface) platform, converting program code directly into real-time programs, and then performing tests for the responses from controllers. The controllers designed in this paper are PI speed controller and decoupling PI current controller. Also space vector modulation method using offset voltage is used in PWM scheme. And system stability is also secured by close magnitude overmodulation method, maintaining dynamics of load when overmodulation occurs. The validity of vector control implemented is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • As the development of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System), the application of BESS in load frequency control is considered as effective method. So, KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) have installed about 236MW ESS for GF(Govner Free) function from 2014. In this paper, we implemented Simulink Model for KEPCO GF ESS and analyzed one year historical operation data generated by Simulink model and actually measured frequency data. The operation results were divided into action for maintaining SOC and frequency. In addition, we also analyzed cycle life of GF ESS using two ESS cycle life model. We concluded the ESS cycle life models are not appropriate, because Most of the SOC swing in operation results are below 10%.

  • This paper proposes a modified RRT (Rapidly exploring Random Tree) algorithm utilizing a heuristic input analysis and suggests a test case generation method from Simulink/Stateflow model using the proposed RRT algorithm. Though the typical RRT algorithm is an efficient method to solve the reachability problem to definitely be resolved for generating test cases of model in a black box manner, it has a drawback, an inefficiency of test case generation that comes from generating random inputs without considering the internal states and the test targets of model. The proposed test case generation method increases efficiency of test case generation by analyzing the test targets to be satisfied at the current state and heuristically deciding the inputs of model based on the analysis during expanding an RRT, while maintaining the merit of RRT algorithm. The proposed method is evaluated with the models of ECUs embedded in a commercial passenger's car. The performance is compared with that of the typical RRT algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a black-box based test case generation method for Simulink/Stateflow model utilizing the RRT algorithm which is a method to efficiently solve the path planning for complicated systems. The proposed method in the paper tries to solve the reachability problem with the RRT algorithm, which has to be solved for black-box based test case generations. A major problem of the RRT based test case generation algorithms is that the cost such as running time and required memory size is too much for complicated Stateflow model. The typical RRT algorithm expands rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT) in a single state space. But the proposed method expands it in dynamic state space based on the state of Simulink model, consequently reducing the cost. In the paper, a new definition of RRT state space, a distance measure and a test case generation algorithm are proposed. The performance of proposed method is verified through the experiment against Stateflow model.

  • This paper presents a implementation of speed sensorless vector control of induction motor using MATLAB/SIMULINK and dSPACE DS1104. Proposed flux estimation algorithm, which utilize the combination of the voltage model based on stator equivalent model and the current model based on rotor equivalent model, enables stable estimation of rotor flux. Proposed rotor speed estimation algorithm utilizes the estimated flux. And the estimated rotor speed is used to speed control of induction motor. Overall system consists of speed controller, current controller, and flux controller using the most general PI controller. Speed sensorless vector control algorithm is implemented as block diagrams using MATLAB/SIMULINK. And realtime control is performed by dSPACE DS1104 control board and Real-Time-Interface(RTI).

Simulation for Voltage Variations of a Grid-connected Wind Turbine Generation System by Simulink (Simulink에서 계통연계 풍력발전시스템의 전압변동 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper presents a modeling and simulation of a grid-connected wind turbine generation system with respect to wind variations, starting of large induction motor and three-phase fault in the system, and investigates voltage variations of the system for disturbances. It describes the modeling of the wind turbine system including the drive train model, induction generator model, and grid-interface model on MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show the variation of the generator torque, the generator rotor speed, the pitch angle, terminal voltage, system voltage, fault current, and real/reactive power output, etc. Case studies demonstrate that the pitch angle control is carried out to achieve maximum power extraction for wind speed variations, starting of a large induction motor causes a voltage sag due to a large starting current, and a fault on the system influences on the output of the wind turbine generator.

  • This paper proposes a method that generates test cases from Simulink/Stateflow(SL/SF) using a SMT (Satisfiability Modulo Theory) solver, Yices and information of SL/SF model. The most difficult problem to generate test cases from SL/SF model is to solve reachability problem. In the propose method, Yices and the tables built with the model information are utilized to solve the reachability problem. The method utilizes the SMT model, that is the SL/SF model transformed in Yices. The tables built from SL/SF are used for backward processing of the proposed method and increases test generation efficiency. A commercial refrigerator model and two car ECU (Electrical Control Unit) models are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm..
