  • 새로운 마이크로프로세서의 설계, 최적화, 그리고 완성 후 어플리케이션의 작성 단계에서 칩의 명령어 집합 시뮬레이션은 필수적인 요소이다. 그러나, 기존의 시뮬레이션 툴들은 저 수준의 하드웨어 기술언어와 게이트 레벨 이하의 시뮬레이션으로 인해 시뮬레이터 구성과 실행 시에 상당한 시간적 지연을 초래하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제들을 해소하고 칩 제작과정에서 발생하는 잦은 설계 변경에 유연성 있게 대응할 수 있는 레지스터 전송 수준의 명령어 집합 시뮬레이터 생성기를 제안하며 그 설계 및 구현에 관해 기술한다.

  • The purpose of Railroad Vehicles License Management in accordance with the Railroad Safety Law is to improve the quality of railroad safety. And the train simulators come into use for training of train operation and testing to issue Railroad Vehicles License. So, It is very important that the simulators for the Railroad Vehicles License Test require to work correctly, to measure driver's operation quality in numerical system and to ensure the justice of license test. In fact, nobody can guarantee that the simulators are feasible performance to use in license test. The simulator for train driver license test can be used effectively for studying of needed performance and quality to test new driver's skill. This study hopefully provides the base for improving the quality of the simulator for train driver's license test and contributes furthermore to improve the simulator development technology and railroad safety.

동역학 기반의 차량 시뮬레이터에 대한 감성공학적 접근 (Human Sensibility Ergonomics Approach to Dynamics-Based Vehicle Simulator)

  • Simulators have been used to evaluate drivers'reactions to various transportation products. Most researches, however, have been concentrated on their technical performance, thus this paper considers drivers'senses of moving on a vehicle simulator through the analysis of human sensibility ergonomics. A sensibility ergonomic method is proposed in order to improve the faithfulness of vehicle simulators. A simulator of passenger vehicle consists of such three modules as vehicle dynamics, virtual environment, and motion representation modules. To evaluate drivers'feedback, human feelings are categorized into a set verbal expressions collected and investigated to find the most appropriate ones for translational and angular accelerations of the simulator The cutoff frequency of the washout alter ill the representation module is selected as one sensibility factor Sensibility experiments were carried out to find correlation between the expressions and the cut-off frequency of the filter. This study suggests a methodology to obtain an ergonomic database which can be applied to the sensibility evaluation of dynamic simulators.

마이크로 컴퓨터를 이용한 항만설계 시뮬레이터의 영상정보 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (On the Visual Scene Validity of the Microcomputer Aided Port Design Simulator)

  • One of the main uses for ship simulators is in the field of port design, and an increasing number of simulators, of varying degrees of fidelity, are being used for this purpose. An essential feature of all such simulators is their visual scene, which must be of sufficent fidelity to convey the key visual cues adequately. This paper examines the ability of a number of experienced mariners to perceive speeds and distances correctly using Computer Generated Imagery visual scenes of different fidelity, compared with their performance at sea. From the results, it was found that the microcomputer based simulator might be considered, as far as its visual scene representation is concerned, to be as valid as the full mission ship simulator for the port design task.

  • KEPCO Research Center is carrying out a simulator(full scope replica type) development project for two nuclear power plants(Kori-2, Younggwang-3,4) and one fossil power plant(Poryong-3,4). In this project, we aim not only the installation of high performance simulators at the power plant sites but also the realization of self reliance of power plant simulation technology in Korea. In the course of preparing procurement specification for the 3 simulators, the present status of power plant simulation technology has been surveyed and is presented in this paper. The fidelity of simulation and the automation of simulation model production has been greatly improved due to the ever increasing computing power of today's workstations. The need and importance of the application of high fidelity simulators to the operator training is refocused since the accident at TMI Nuclear Power Plant, U.S.A.

  • A hybrid system is defined as a mixture of continuous systems and discrete event systems. This paper first proposes a framework for hybrid systems modeling, called Hybrid Discrete Event System Specification (HDEVS) formalism. It then presents a method for simulators interoperation in which a continuous system simulator and a discrete event simulator are executed together in a cooperative manner. The formalism can specify a hybrid system in a way that a continuos system and a discrete event system are separately modeled by their own specification formalisms with a support of well-defined interface. We call such interface an A/E converter for analog-to- event conversion and an E/A converter for event-to-analog conversion. Simulators interoperation is based on the concept of pre-simulation in which simulation time for a continuous simulator is advanced in accordance with a discrete event simulator.

  • Vehicle simulators provide an effective and safe environment for training operators. Many vehicle simulators have been developed but only a few have reached the stage of widely available tools; these tools are usually expensive and run on workstations only We have developed a low-cost, PC-based excavator simulator for training operators. Currently the simulator is dedicated to operating the boom, Em, bucket, and driver's cabin for digging by the action of the operator on two joysticks. This paper presents the implementation of the excavator simulator and some implementation results.

  • Since the competitive market environment was introduced into the electric power industry, the structure of the industry has been changing from vertically integrated system to functionally unbundled and decentralized system composed of multiple (decision-making) market participants. So the market participants such as Gencos or LSE (load serving entity) need to forecast the market clearing price and thus build their offer or bidding strategies. Not just these market players but also a market operator is required to perform market analysis and ensure simulation capability to manage and monitor the competitive electricity market. For fulfilling the demand for market simulation, many global venders like GE, Henwood, Drayton Analytics, CRA, etc. have developed and provided electricity market simulators. Most of these simulators are based on the optimization formulation which has been used mainly for the least cost resource planning in the centralized power system planning and operation. From this standpoint, it seems somehow inevitable to face many challenges on modeling competitive market based on the method of traditional market simulators. In this paper, we propose a kind of new method, which is MAS based market simulation. The agent based model has already been introduced in EMCAS, one of commercial market simulators, but there may be various ways of modeling agent. This paper, in particular, seeks to introduce an model for MAS based market simulator.

공군 전투기 시뮬레이터와 워게임 모델의 V-C 연동에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Interoperability of ROK Air Force Virtual and Constructive Simulation)

  • 전장상황의 변화와 첨단정보통신기술의 발전에 따라 과학화된 훈련체계인 LVC 훈련체계가 주목을 받고 있다. 대한민국 공군은 전투기 시뮬레이터를 중심으로 공중전투기동장비(ACMI), 워게임모델을 가상의 합성전장환경에 구현하여 실전적이고 과학적인 훈련이 가능한 LVC 훈련체계를 구축하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 공군의 Virtual 체계인 전투기 시뮬레이터와 Constructive 체계인 전구급 연습용 모델의 V-C 연동시험 수행결과에 대해 다루고자 한다. 기종별로 각각 상이한 연동방식을 갖춘 F-15K, KF-16, FA-50 전투기 시뮬레이터를 표준 연동방식으로 변환하였으며, 합성 전장환경 모의 도구를 활용하여 3개 기종의 전투기 시뮬레이터가 상호 연동이 가능한 환경을 구축하였다. 그리고 공군의 연습용 모델인 창공모델도 표준 연동방식으로 변환하였으며, 연동 최적화를 위해 SW 일부를 수정하였다. 이를 통해 공군의 전투기 시뮬레이터와 워게임 모델이 연동이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 향후 공군 LVC 훈련체계 개념연구 및 체계개발 간에 유의미하게 참조할 만한 근거가 될 것임을 기대한다.

Numerical investigation of effects of rotating downdraft on tornado-like-vortex characteristics

  • Appropriate modeling of a tornado-like vortex is a prerequisite when studying the near-ground wind characteristics of a tornado and tornado-induced wind loads on structures. Both Ward- and ISU-type tornado simulators employ guide vanes to induce angular momentum to converge flow in order to generate tornado-like vortices. But in the Ward-type simulator, the guide vanes are mounted near the ground while in the ISU-type they are located at a high position to allow vertical circulation of flow that creates a rotating downdraft to generate a tornado-like vortex. In this study, numerical simulations were performed to reproduce tornado-like vortices using both Ward-type and ISU-type tornado simulators, from which the effects of rotating downdraft on the vortex characteristics were clarified. Particular attention was devoted to the wander of tornado-like vortices, and their dependences on swirl ratio and fetch length were investigated. The present study showed that the dynamic vortex structure depends significantly on the vortex-generating mechanism, although the time-averaged structure remains similar. This feature should be taken into consideration when tornado-like-vortex simulators are utilized to investigate tornado-induced wind forces on structures.
